I made lasagna today. One big more traditional (for my family) pan, then a second pan for my gluten free kiddo and I where the noodles were subbed out for very thin slices of zucchini. I also added mushrooms to the veggie noodle pan.

I read that you have been introduced to Harvey's, Yooly :) That was good - they have decent veggie burgers too - and really nice fresh toppings. Fresh cucumber slices even and decent tomatoes all winter.

Miguel was the strip o gram boy I was hoping to gift Frances (exes mom? - hate those terms though) - but she got a good laugh when I spoke to her about the idea - even though he wasn't there :)

That looks pretty good, PAV. I made a ??? still working on the name but I"m thinking Split Pea Curry on Sunday. Yellow split peas, head of cauliflower, 2 sweet potatoes, 3 yellow potatoes, 1 bag of frozen kale, 1/2 bag frozen spinach and a tin of diced tomatoes plus spices. Was okay. There is now 8 bowls in the freezer - hopefully it will improve :) after freezing - which this type of dish sometimes does.

For sure we would make Connie proud with these concoctions, PAV!

    Yup yup

To anyone willing to test the buldak artificial chicken flavor stir fried ramen 2x spicy (red) pouch... don't!

Unless you needed to cry, and clear your sinuses, need a good sweat, and are ok with puffy lips. Not sure how I would know all this 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯

Also unbearably HOT Campbells Spicy Buffalo Creamy Chicken soup. OMG - I like hot food but this was inedible! Even with a ton of plain yogurt stirred in. Incindiary 🥵😈🔥

Well I think I will be avoiding those both :)

My split-pea curry did NOT agree with me. TOOOO acidic (those were wicked tomatoes). Mouth was sore last night and this mornings dog walk almost had a very unpleasant ending. Fortunately we made it home on time. Eight bowls in the freezer :( out to the compost I think.

Where does one find ACIDIC tomatoes 🍅! All we get are the mealy hothouse varieties. We can’t grow them here outside due to alkaline soil, heat and lack of water.

It was an expensive canned type from Italy. Geez - can't remember the brand now - but it actually sounded like an Indian brand...lol...so I thought they would be perfect in the curry. But it just didn't sit well.

    Tonight:

Grilled center-cut pork chops, green salad (with Dill Pickle ranch dressing for me) and roasted baby red and yellow potatoes.

    Tomorrow:

Flank steak, also grilled, sauteed mushrooms and onions, steamed green beans and the same type of potatoes.

At least SOME people are eating well!😎

I'm acing cookie, biscotti, chocolate, and iced products consumption. So far not too far out of kilter in terms of weight by skipping the meal part of meals.... but I do need to get some bunnies and maybe some extra protein in there!

I mean wheat does have protein but somehow I don't think that cookies are notoriously considered a high protein food????🤔🤯🤷‍♂️

I've been throwing in some fishies for low cal high protein (skipjack tuna and herrings/sardines canned in water mainly)

Nics meals are nice and balanced. But seriously PAV - cookies and fish protein?

Of course I will not discuss my less than stellar meals either.

Well, we also have 4 flavors of Terry's oranges in the house and I am having the odd piece here and there. Plus I had a small skinny caramel macchiatto today, some grapes and raspberries, a couple nuts, a cheese snack, a yogurt and a 42g protein chocolate milk this morning.

The Terry is subtle but corrupting! 🤯

It's not even the chocolates that get me: cookies are worse... way worse in terms of calories downed in no time! 🤯🤔 Ok: poppycock popcorn (glazed with nuts) is a close second!!!!🤯 I mean the little light bulbs light up! Probably easier to not bring into the house. Next step is exposure therapy--a bit fraught with danger but there you have it.

Hey: I even had a rice with lentil pouch and tuna yesterday (confession time: maybe the poke tuna pouch had been in the fridge more than the recommended maximum of 48 hours, and given the season I decided not to risk it and pan seared the poor thing as a precaution. Then added a pouch of rice/lentils! And it was actually either good... Or a very nice change from cookies!!!! Because other than the occasional cracker and cheese or a bit of yogurt, it was probably the only non cookie/panettone/chocolate/Creamie (hey Creamie is mostly fruits!) of the past few days!)

As a certain Dante would say: onwards--i sense more sensible food choices in my future!🤣🤣🤣

I'm going to hold onto this idea too.
