Tips from a podcast I was listening to prior to typing to you.

    **Mindful eating 101 **

Be where your feet are only. If I am on a call, I am thinking 100% on the call. I am here with you mentally and physically.

Be at dinner. Don't be thinking of other things. Be where you are.

Do not be distracted. Do not be watching TV< scrolling< in the pantry
You have to eliminate all other distractions. Do only eating.
    No other activities

Between bites - put your fork/silverware down.
    Focus on your current bite.
Catch yourself, and focus on the current bite. Be with the food you are eating.

At lunch, actually be thinking about the food, its taste, its texture, etc. Bring your mind back to the present moment.

Most people have an addiction to being NOT where they are now. How much they have messed up, or how much they will fail in the future. The PAST is gone, Just focus on Right now in the present. It's the last place your mind wants you to be.

Be right here. Be in the NOW. Be focused on THIS activity.

I almost wish I was a nurse. Maybe I need to change fields.
Today in the past 2 hours I have had a total of 5 tickets to do and they took me roughly 30mins total to complete.

This email from Jay Cutler really hits home….

“At 51 I know that the next 10 years of my life matters more than ever before, in terms of health and longevity.

To me, success is being healthy, free and happy to pursue life on your terms, however that looks to you.

I know life gets crazy and it is sometimes hard to prioritize your health, but I hope to remind you that if you don't do it now, at some point you will be forced to because your body will quit.

In my position, my aim is to inspire as many people as possible to take care of their health and be proactive about it rather than having to be reactive, years down the line.

I think it's really healthy to sit and think about what happens in the future, based on what you're doing right now.

If you know you're not sleeping well, not eating properly and taking care of your health, now is the time to change it!

    Jay Cutler”

I'm just not into logging into the boards to log anything.
Barely logging any of my food, just not feeling it.

I am getting in my workouts
I am trying to eat better/ higher nutrition
I get in plenty of activity and sleep.

    I see you're down to 3 "sticks" on #5 Justgirl81 - YAY!

"Not every day will be amazing, but you have the power to make at least part of today great"

Trying not to be anxious about my mom going home from the Nursing home today...

At noon I plan to go shopping for hubby's gift. A greenbay packers calendar for his work desk and a decent quarter zip shirt that doesn't have words plastered all over it.

Hope everyone is well and hoping for the best for your mom @SherryRueter. Been prepping for mom’s upcoming monthly appt and doing as much as a deep clean as my dad will let me. Progress but still drowning in junk. I really have to reel in the yelling!! 🙏🙏🙏

Hit my for milestone goal weight. Trying to lose just two more before Christmas. Possible but not probable. Maybe by New Years!

Have to start my shopping this weekend! Ugh. My brother - who I haven’t been talking to (longer story) will be home for the holidays. When he is home and I was talking to him, I’d buy him a present. Now - I dunno. Wrong to not? Or fake to do so? Seems awkward to hand someone a gift with no words? “Here”.

    Advice?

I get those times when I don't want to log also Sherry. I've found that, personally, tracking is helpful because when I start to feel hopeless, I can put my focus back on my destination (success in my goals) and keep moving forward.
Because of the Holy Spirit which Lord Jesus has given us, I believe we are completely capable of overcoming the flesh, so I need to remind myself of that daily. I have the the choice to choose salvation or not; and it is a choice I'd better take more seriously. God has instructed His children to take care of our temples as it houses that Holy Spirit and was purchased by the blood of Lord Jesus. The Bible says we are no longer our own, but belong to Him. So everytime I eat poorly or smoke, I am damaging God's property. The world has tolerance (to everything anymore); God has standards.

Hebrews 12:14-15 "Make every effort to pursue peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord. See to it that no one falls short of the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many."
I'm reminded of a sermon Joyce Meyers gave about pursuing peace. I remember her saying "Peace is not going to fall on you like a bucket of cherries, you have to pursue it! Actually chase after it." I always liked how she taught the principle.

@Ceebeeslim - Goal weight _ YAYYYYY!!!!!! I keep trying to log - even after the fact. Slowly I hope to get there too. Not likely by christmas, perhaps by the end of January for me. Thats quick enough. I think what does/doesn't help is its the "last few" and its easy to carry them physically.... as long as I avoid mirrors. HAHAHAHA

    Advice: Give gift cards.
Brother and present. Not wrong, just a difficult situation. Awkward, I'm sure. Without knowing the back story (which I don't need to know). Perhaps a simple, I hope we can continue to keep in touch, its been way to long. Below is a poem I memorized when I was about 15yrs old. I really don't knw who wrote it and...I'm shocked that I remember most of it.

    Life's to short for grievances
    for quarrels and for tears.
    what's the use of wasting,
    precious time and precious years.

    The unexpected courtesy
    the thoughtful kindly deed
a hand reached out to help us
    in our time of need

Oh please Lord remind us of our little daily graces
that come to us with sweet surprise from never thought of places.

@SherryRueter Thank you. You are right. I know you’re right. Now I know why “stubborn pride” are two words that go together. As much as I know I should give him a gift, it feels like I surrendered. He won. I’m a doormat. But that’s the fleshiest of flesh talking. I know better. And when you know better you do better (or should). Gift it is.

As my mom would say “Don’t let the Lord frown on ya”. 🙂

Thanks. You virtual pals are the best partners in my Christian journey. Appreciate you! 🙏🙏

@ceebeeslim Too bad we don't live nearby each other. I am sure we could support each other emotionally thru this eldercare. Know you are in my thoughts and prayers.

The Gifting. Maybe its more of an "I forgive you because, God forgives me".

@Justgirl81 - I enjoy your insights on this being gods temple and Me being the one who is supposed to take care of it. And true enough, Most of the time when we take care of our body, our thoughts and our emotions - we see that others are given long lives. Happy lives. Some of the funnest, kindest people i know are those who are genourous and happy and there for you. Definitely something I should role model more often.

    12 reps each move. Example:

    12 Lunge right/ Row
    30 Rope
12 Weighted Burpee Row/Row stand up

    30 Rope
    12 Front Lunges (per leg)
    30 Rope
12 Sumo Squats with over head press
    30 Rope

Thinking of doing an "ALL IN 12 weeks" starting Dec. 26th.
Might start earlier. Basicallly, sticking to meal prep/ Meal Plan and then follwoing it - like I did in Oct. In OCT I was literally 1# from my goal. And in Mid July I was 3# under goal. What was I doing... I was cutting calories and eating more accurately for the weight I wanted to be. I wasnt' over exercising or over walking. Its the FOOD that matters. Not the workout.

Also contemplating a lighter workout, which would make me less wanting to eat more as a reward.

@SherryRueter Thank you for that sentiment. How cool would that be! But your virtual support is great and much needed. 🙏

I’m officially under my mini-milestone weight. Yay! Still a lil fleshy so want to see how I feel with 5 pounds less. Every trainer I worked with said 125 is the lowest they would advise me going - and I’m now 124. If I’m honest I can kinda see where those not-so-nice-very-direct comments about by neck and face from my southern family are coming from. There’s no question I could lose 5-7 (maybe 10) more pounds of fat - it may do havoc on my face. Sigh! Can’t win! 🤪

Do you find you’re chasing a number, a look, a feel? Despite the goal weight, are you happy with the way you look?
