An up side to my dismal health reports today —my weight on the evil 😈 doctor scale was the same (within ounces) as last year. Even with travel eating and an admitted lack of caution, I must have internalized some modicum of control.

This morning's weigh in was a new low.

    167lbs.

Ladies and gentlemen, I am pleased to announce that, since I am 5'9" tall, that is officially "normal weight", per BMI, which is 24.7.

I have my 1 year appt tomorrow, wooohoo. I still want to lose another 15-20lbs, to get into the mid-range (about 22) of BMI, but I am so proud of myself.

Numbers are awful. I’ve fallen off the wagon spectacularly! Pants getting snug. Trying like PAV to tread water over the next few months. Because who am I kidding- there are cookies in my future.

Hey stop it Yooly! Wholesome food mostly and you will be ok!

Went thru a bag of peas the other day while on the phone.... better than a bag of chocolates! 🤯

I honestly don't know when I was last I the 150s. Early junior high maybe? It feels weird.

Honestly, starting to feel a little bony in my upper ribs, I am carrying a good bit of extra/loose skin in my lower belly, upper arms, and front of my thighs.

My 30 waist Levi's jeans (stiff, no give) and my size 8 ON jeans (softer, little stretch) are both easy fits. I bought ladies medium half-zip sweatshirts and they're not too big. All my men's/unisex larges are noticeably big. Most ladies mediums I try on fit readily, some are too snug in the shoulders, too short in the sleeves, and/or too short in the torso. Keep in mind I am 5'9" and not delicately framed. My size large scrubs are definitely quite loose.

Photo from about 5lbs ago, you can see my not delicate frame in the width of my lower ribcage, lol:

    LOOK AT THOSE BICEPS!!!!!!!

I have a similiar frame - height - you are inspiring me so much. When I hit the 150s two years ago I thought I was way bigger than you look in this image. Give my head a shake. Great work, Nik!

Thanks! I actually have decent shoulders and my arms would be great minus all the extra skin.

Your arms ARE great! Skin is skin: better empty than full from my perspective!🤷‍♂️ I rather enjoy being able to breathe and move around even if I have a turkey neck and get to play dough boy with my tummy!😎

Having just had some skin involuntarily removed - I vote for skin in any of its permutations. Wrinkly, dangly, doughy ……

You know what really sucks about what should have been my skin filling year? That it seems to not have filled any face skin :| I would like to see my cheeks puff up with that youthful roundness ! Alas no.

But - I really really want to feel what PAV is describing again.

And though I also really agree with you, Yooly - maybe??? - this time around on my weight loss merry go round I'll opt for a breast reduction/lift on my remaining girl. I don't think I would have before. But now she is alone and that side of my torso stills feels weirdly tender (where it has not been rendered numb) - bras are really challenging. So when the girl gets properly saggy again :) I can remedy that and for the first time in 50 years just go braless! Because it is tied in with breast cancer mastectomy choices it will even be covered by insurance.

I agree with PAV, they ARE great! And. I'm so glad you posted this picture. We always tend to be much harder on ourselves. Looking at your photo - I see the skin as just a little bit of fluff around the periphery of great arms -the evidence of all of your hard work. Maybe it will help bring the same vision when I look at myself ... fingers crossed ... I'm actually toying with the idea of doing a little flex and picture snap now. I think my arms are much better after my summer of construction work so I won't be horrified ... and then I can do a comparison later! Thank you, Nic!

Can't say I am impressed with *MY* face Laurie... but... it is eight days to the eleventh year since I said to myself that if I continue as I have been.... then there is no point in thinking about "retirement" and what I won't be able to do at that point of time since I was already (at that point of time) making choices about what things I COULDNOT (or did not feel I could) do because of my physical condition and shape.

There wasn't even (initially) the real thought of losing a significant amount of weight as I wasn't even convinced that it would be possible to lose and maintain based on previous attempts. It was just the start of trying to do something different than what I had been doing in the past. Which thankfully I followed through with and at a sparkling moment 10.5 months later I found and joined MFP instead of giving up when I had started to make all the "classic" choices (unsustainably large deficits, "diet for now" food choices, etc

Turns out that I probably wasn't very wrong about my thoughts at the time, and I am having a hard time envisioning myself making it through this past decade at my former weight.

(And in case it is not clear, since I digressed, as usual, eleven years later it is not THAT weird that the dang face looks less fresh!)
