There you are Mr. PAV looking all pretty and everything!

Goodness Laurie- I’m assuming that’s a mask with some artwork? Or did you do a whole face paint thing?

Its a video chat filter. Sometimes The Boy just plays with his Lego while I hang around on the phone :) so I play with filters to entertain myself. He is generally pretty amused when he looks back at the screen and finds a "filtered" nan face :)

Now I can go see PAV's Christmas selfie too!

I say ugh to the pretty!🤯 Hope Yooly is having minimum discomfort and that our Laurie is having fun planning the Italian feast! 😎

Laurie have you considered some of the "old" stand ins (beets, carrots, zucchini, I think I've even seen sweet potato spirals) as an option for the "buffet"?

Today I spent THE day playing musical cell phone plans. Slim pickings but lowered price a tiny bit with no reduction in actual functionality 🤷‍♂️

Actually I’m feeling ridiculously well two weeks post surgery. No pain, meds or discomfort. Occasionally a twinge but otherwise great. 👍

Do not disparage your lovely face PAV. It’s the face of someone who has experienced joys and sorrows. Both contributed to your current face! It’s something to be celebrated. I find nothing more awful than people who are desperate to hang on to youth far beyond plausibility.

Well then isn't someone being particularly nice to mr ankle hurts a lot let's see if it goes away fast like it "normally" tends to!

Also really glad to hear the good news so far re: your recovery! I hope and trust things will continue to move along swimmingly!

    It was Christmas Dinner, PAV!!!!

But I avoided the Alfredo sauce and went for a happy medium vodka sauce 😁

Today’s weather is supposed to be 86F (30C)! Great day for stashing the Christmas decor up in the attic. Definitely won’t be cold mucking around up there. Tomorrow looks to be more seasonal 60F.

Just because I have to make bank on being called "cute"... I am putting up another half evil (333) pic for a few days! This time it's from New Year's Eve! :kissing_heart:

    https://icedrive.net/s/akghiRPt619ZuTz6j7ZDzfWFQj8h

Well then. I had not updated my weight spreadsheet since April! Yet again August seems to be my "low point" for the year. Yet again it looks like things start going up in September. BUT, this year, I am fairly sure that the bulk of the increase was in late August and early September.

And why am I "fairly sure"? Because guess how many weight ins I've recorded between August 16 (when I was in the 155s) and September 8th (when I am back to the 158s)?

    Exactly. Yes. You guessed it!
    ZERO! ZIP! NADA! NONE!

On the good news front, overall the year was a win from ~164 to ~160. So better than a kick in the pants by a long shot. Though, of course, I would prefer to be in the 152-154 range as compared to the 158 to 160 one!

The current scale I'm using (and recorded data) started November 22. Last valid info before then was February 22 from trendweight and the previous scale

Look at that pretty face Mr. PAV! I see you are a two-fisted eater too.

I need to get my *kitten* together. I hate New Year’s resolutions but I have completely lost control the last two months. And my pants ain’t happy.

Oh my, Yooly. Now that you mention it. I did NOT make any New Year's resolutions! I have plans, but didn't resolve to do anything. Not sure if this is good or bad. But it IS.

Must go look at that pretty face now :)

Congratulations, PAV! Those are fine numbers.

    And you are so cute.

And now I know I love you for sure because you are wearing my favourite plaid. Black watch. I have even painted my front door that colour! (photo to follow :) )

Not that I didn't find it "appealing" because then I wouldn't have bought it (even though it was... you guessed it... on sale!).... but wouldn't it have been brilliant if I had actually KNOWN what I was buying in terms of the "black watch tartan"!

I will have to treat it with a bit more respect, I think!

No resolutions here--due mainly to being a rebel without a clue. But implementing what looks/feels/appears to be good ideas? Why not!

How many bunnies have our Yooly (and our Laurie? And even the hidding Garfield and even our BC Lady and the occasionally popping in Adventurista) been eating per day? :pensive: ? I, most certainly, need to up my bunny game... even though it's not THAT low!

Our brilliant Yooly has resurrected the bunny eating thread. I will do better today. Thank you for the reminder!

I learned of the name Black Watch when I found a great shirt in Value Village :) The self checkout assistant told me about it. She likes the colours too.

Numbers not good today. But perhaps a kick in the bottom is in order? Weighed myself. First time since Dec 17. Up 4 pounds! Nothing big happened in the past few days - and Christmas wasn't really even out of control. Just a general upswing in full force it seems - I honestly thought it would be about the same???

Spent much time trying to get my Christmas present fitbit tracker going yesterday/today. This is my third of this type so nothing new on the how it works front - but this baby has issues - won't even restart :(

Back to the store with it hopefully today (son sent me a picture of the receipt - I hope that will at least get me some assistance in the tech department ???). Perhaps the electrical gadget gods know how reluctant I feel about full on tracking :p

Well ... that day didn't go as planned. Store beyond walking distance ... car battery died ... now the wee automobile still has a donut spare tire on the front (from a mid December blown tire on the highway) and I cannot shut if off if I get it started :) and I don't think the CAA wants to keep coming to give me a boost - especially since they were not pleased to see me still driving on the doughnut spare :p So I'll have to deal with those car techie things before moving into the Fitbit techie thing :)

Christmas, and some unexpected Newfoundland house expenses (lateral sewer blockage) and having to fill the Newfoundland house oil tank ($800) and :) plane tickets to Newfoundland for a mid February visit to visit The Boy have sort of left me moneyless for the moment :)

Ahhh Laurie- sometimes when it rains, it pours!

Do get the donut tire off. Kind of dangerous to drive any length of time on that.

Sigh car techie things! Things are going.... medium.... here. A bit too much of a backlog of problem items, hmmm. Still easily accessible. Hmmm..... And other things that make one want to, err, access them! May try to get some day-time light into the ocular receptors today!

Fortunately I do not drive very often nor far. Car is really not up to it :) so I save it for special things because it is very close to retirement.

When I was out the other day (the final day for this battery) - I was driving a friend to the hospital for an endoscopy and while I was waiting to drive her home took the dog to the lake. It was cold. Car wouldn't start after our walk. It turned into quite the deal after CAA gave me a boost. Highly unlikely the care would start again if I turned it off - so kept her running. While I was waiting outside of the hospital I encountered an old kind of lost man with very poor English. He didn't really know where he was, but when he showed me the pamphlet of where he wanted to be it was clear he was in the wrong place - so drove him to the correct address. lol. Poor fellow stuck in the backseat with the pup who was curious but also very uncertain of this stranger in the car. I disappeared lickety split when I got him inside the community services building. He was at the correct address, but I don't think the correct place, but I wasn't in a good position to take further responsibility for him.

And my friend had come out looking very rattled. She has a history of lung cancer - the only person I know who made it out the otherside of that nasty beast. A year ago her oncologist discharged her because she was 5 years with no evidence of disease. But on Tuesday they found a tumour on her esophagus, contacted a surgeon while she was in there, took a biopsy and referred her to a throat cancer specialist immediately. Once we lost the old man she told me they told her that all signs point to cancer.

So - I need to keep the car on the road for a bit longer. She it going to need some transportation and it is sort of the community car now. I was car free for almost two decades and my son left his car when he moved to Newfoundland. It has been very handy through my medical nonsense of the past couple of years. It is the only car in my circle of friends / community group. We live near the city centre so most things are very accesible on foot or by public transit. This car has definitely earned its keep picking up those occasional large scale purchases - group runs to the garden centre in the spring - trips to IKEA - has even chauffered Santa Claus a few times :)

I am thinking "out loud" in this post - Do the repairs? Retired the car? - pretty sure I've talked myself into repairs.

On another note. Sounds like you have much going on there, PAV. Wanna share with us? Or still processing?
Hope you go some day-time light into your ocular receptors today.

Definitely get the repairs Laurie. That old car provides a valuable community service. Perhaps your regular riders could help out with some cash? My car is 23 years old and still going!

Yes Mr.PAV - perhaps you could provide some particulars of your troubles? How can I give you unwanted motherly advice or regular nagging?

Refurbished battery place for battery Laurie if Walmart/Costco too pricey. Reluctantly could look into used tires (never had much luck with them myself) or just two new if front wheel drive.

    Stress, food 🤷‍♂️

Trying to get more sleep. Trying to process/navigate degree that I'm affected by health issues vs what may just be reduction in activity and trying to figure out how much I'm supposed to (or not supposed) to push. Especially with relatively unclear, to my mind, guidance!

Actually you may have given me an idea or at least a second idea to pursue 🤣

So wonderful to have a support group :)
Found a refurbished battery yesterday (after writing this post) - they will have one suitable for my car on Monday. $50 vs $200 - woohoo! I've also received recommendations for a used tire. Should be in the $40-$50 range. So for both I expect to be in under $200 - which is absolutely worthwhile.

PAV this is a terrible place to be in for you. I'm not sure if I have missed something. But if not you must be referring to the heart issues you have been experiencing? I can see how that would be very frightening. Currently, where are you on the diagnostic front? I want to do some big sister advice giving/nagging :)
