I’m loving the FitOn walking workouts. I did a 20 minute one, an arms strength training and a core workout.
Paula you’re doing so great. I know you’re headed back to Onederland. I can’t wait to see it. So proud of you. Let’s hit our monthly goals ladies!!! So close. I have to say the workouts are great but I really think it’s the nutrition that’s working this month.

I had a dental appointment today then spent the remainder of the day doing absolutely nothing!!!
Kathy1 -
Shelley, I hope you start to feel better soon. Hugs.
Kathy, Your day sounds absolutely lovely.
Paula1 -
Shelley, how are you doing?
Kathy, I'd do that too!
I did 5.18 miles in 103 mins to Laurel Park and home today. Pat told me to go walk since I didn't have time to take Collin out for a walk. SIL was supposed to p/u at 11:00 a.m. ... I could have walked Collin...sigh. Anyway, I'm glad I went out. I felt much better when I got home. I was feeling tired or down or something. Walking fixed it.
That's it for now.

Kathy I think I will be doing a FitOn walking with you. Supposed to snow lots and get really cold. And you are right. The nutrition is where the loss is coming from. The workouts are the grease to keep you purring. I have to look up your cooking friend this weekend. So inspiring.
Chris sorry you were in a mood. Glad walking fixed it.
Paula thanks. I was in a funk. Didn't workout last night. That made it worse. Then tonight worked late for a trial. So missed another workout. My ankle didn't mind the break though. Is that creep still trying to friend you? Hopefully not.
Went to dinner after a trial tonight with Rocky. Little House of Burgers. Cute place. During the trial I was able to read a write up on Dinoflagellates and how to get rid of them for good. Made a list of some things I need and am going to start getting rid of them. Basically my parameters bottomed out so I now have a new algae to contend with. One out of 6 tanks with a problem is not bad. I looked like I was taking notes.
Shelley0 -
Shelley - I hope you are feeling better. Please take care of yourself. So much going around this time of year.
Paula - Way to go. You are so good at this :-)
I'm feeling pretty good about this week. Was able to get back into my fasting routine which is good. Didn't get in as much exercise as I'd hoped since I had to be in the office four days. I did a really good job staying away from all the food in the office. Large lunches everyday. I just looked the other way and said I had meetings to not have to eat :-)
I still need to work on my water and take a little bit, but I'm always struggling in that department. I do start my iron infusion this afternoon. Looking forward to getting the ball rolling there. Happy to be working from home today. We did get a little bit of snow overnight which of course will stop everything around here. Probably need to take Bella to work as she doesn't have any experience driving in the snow.
I hadn't mentioned this, but my husband has been struggling with his arm. He did have the surgery which fixed part of the issue but he has tremors in one of his arms and they are concerned that he might have Parkinson's disease. He goes today for the DAT test which should tell him whether or not he has it. It's quite a scary diagnosis. Just saying a prayer that this is not it.
Anyway I'm moving right along with my progress.

Karen, sending your husband good thoughts and love. I sure hope it's not.
Shelley, did you get rid of your Dinoflagellates yet? I hope so. I also hope your ankle is feeling better.
Took Collin for a 1.73 mile walk in 48 mins down the long sidewalk path from No Name Park this morning then did a 60 min workout w/my trainer, and now I'm doing nothing but drinking coffee and reading.
Have a great Friday evening everyone!
Chris0 -
Karen I am saying a prayer for your family. Wishing for a happy outcome. Hugs I also am always struggling with water intake.
Chris the dinos take weeks or months to get rid of. I sure hope that park gets a name someday.
Busy day today. Work was nuts. Snowed here also. Not to much. But really icy.
Shelley0 -
Karen,
Sending you the best wishes!!!
Paula1 -
Shelley, the park will always be No Name to us, tho they did put up a new sign...I can't even tell you what it is called by everyone else. Please be careful on the ice! I've had two episodes with black ice. My fanny was sore forever after the first one. I had to have a front tooth replaced because of the second one. Not fun or graceful!
I was belly-aching because I thought I caught the kids cold. Maybe, maybe not but, Patrick told me to put on my shoes and just do it...sigh...I did. I did 5.42 miles in 108 mins to the post office and back. It was beautiful out there. Ronan is over playing w/Grandpa on the computers now. I'm going to read and drink coffee.
Have a good Saturday, my friends.
Chris

Chris we all vent at times. At least you got a beautiful walk out of yours. Ice is dangerous for sure.
I spent a few hours this morning tackling the dinos in my tank. Cleaned everything I possibly could. Removed as much of it as I could. Felt great and the tank sure looked better. Just have to keep at it.
Way to cold here to do much. Unbeknownst to me Rocky put the small door in the dod door last night. And when Libby wanted to go out I opened the door to go with her. Sara our cat came with us. She did not come in with us. I didn't think anything of it. I found out later she had spent the night out in below zero temperatures. She was crying to come inside when Rocky found her early in the morning. Poor kitty
Shelley1 -
I didn’t work out yesterday. My sisters and I and a couple of nieces decided it was time to go through mom’s things. There were tears, laughs and great memories. I was so happy to have help and we did it together. Going to get together again in a couple of weeks for part two.
Karen sending positive thoughts to your family. 🙏🏾
Shelley, sorry about the poor kitty.
Chris, wow another 5+ miles.
Kathy2 -
No walking today. The fog was so thick this morning and it was windy and cold! By the time it cleared up I was not in the game at all. I made soup instead and that's all! Oh, wait...reading and drinking coffee, too!
Chris1 -
Karen,
Your sisters and nieces sound wonderful.
Paula2 -
Kathy I agree with Paula. Such wonderful women. Her dresses were like memories of what and where she had been. Clothes tell stories.
Chris I don't blame you. It has been extremely cold here and we stayed indoors.
Paula I hope all is well for you. I haven't watched the news lately. Hope the fire in CA is soon to be a thing of the past. So much is lost.
So cold here. Stayed indoors and made cinnamon rolls with hubby. Then shared with neighbors. Put in an order for new heaters for my large aquarium. Titanium ones with a controller. They were on sale. Crazy how much things cost. Sadly the Hanna checkers I bought were not. I currently have a large heater taking up space in the display tank. The new ones are compact and will be hidden in the sump. Watched the playoffs tonight. The Buffalo Bills almost lost. It was a good game.

My furnace died a few years ago and I wear coats in the house. But I've discovered the oven works the same way so that really helps with the cold snap (Shelley, a cold snap is in the 50's in California).
The tendonitis in my right wrist is healing. I reconnected with one of my sisters (not lost, just hadn't talked recently). One of my major house projects is done (with a half dozen to go). Going to a concert with a friend (the music is "just OK" but Carol is great). Participating in an exciting neighborhood emergency response team training next week.
Oh yeah, and I'm losing weight again. I don't know why that affects my outlook on life, but it does.
All around, it's been a special couple of weeks.
Paula1 -
Paula that's great news!! Keep it up my friend.
We had 58 degrees and 13 mph winds this morning, but I didn't care...until I got out there ...I was okay after about a mile when I had to take my jacket off. I followed the water canal past the pumping plant, went up past the water tanks all the way to the top and took a picture of Mt. Diablo! It's a tough climb, but I did it. I didn't think I had the strength to do it because I haven't been walking much, but I did!!
The boys are coming over in a bit so Sara and Pete can go have a date night. It'll be fun...
Must go get more coffee...Bye!
Chris

Mount Diablo this morning!
Have a great Monday everyone!
Chris3 -
Paula I can't imagine my furnace being out. I would be in serious trouble. It was cold today. Like in single digits. Took our friend 2 of the cinnamon rolls. He wanted to know what we were doing out in the cold. That emergency training sounds interesting. And losing weight makes me feel good too.
Chris that looks incredible. I see why you like walking so much. Date night. Lol, new baby will be here in no time.
After delivering the cinnamon rolls we went to the store. Had to get a couple things. Tomorrow I will be heading to the docs for my yearly chat. Blah.
Checked the nitrates and phosphates in my tank. Still reading zero. Got to get them up a tiny bit.
Shelley0 -
Chris, That hike looks excellent. What a great view! Your DDD and SIL are so lucky to have you and their "me" time. You're probably good for their sanity.
Shelley, My doc keeps trying to get me in for "yearly chats" but I say "if I ain't sick, I don't wanna." They are not happy with me. :noway:
Paula1 -
Paula, I don't have enough coats and jackets to go without our heater! I asked Ronan if he could reach the controls and he raced around the corner...tap, tap, tap...and yelled, "Yes, I can reach them." Raced back to his game. Turns out he lowered the house temperature to...40!!! EGADS, MAN!!!! Pat fixed it.
Shelley, I dread going to the doctor's appt every year. And NO MORE BABIES for us. Sara made sure of that.
Collin and I went on a short walk this morning but it was too cold and windy. We didn't go watch for big trucks or go to the ball field. I was happy!
My trainer was sick on Monday, but I'll see her tomorrow.
Have good Tuesday, my friends.

We had Collin this morning then I saw my trainer for a 60 min workout then Ronan was here until 5:30 when Pat took him home. We will have the boys tomorrow. I will try and walk after Collin is p/u around 11:30ish. We'll see.
Chris0 -
Completed 45 minutes on Recumbent bike. Then laundry for the rest of the day. I’m not feeling very well so rested the rest of the day.
Kathy1 -
We had Collin this morning. He and I went out for a short walk...1.31 miles in 37 mins then I went out after he was p/u to the post office and back...5.41 miles in 105 mins. My feet are cryin' but I'm so glad I did it. Now we have Ronan who is doing homework w/Grandpa and then they'll be playing some video game.
I'm going to read and drink coffee.
Chris1 -
Paula I would skip the doctor visits. But have thyroid issues. Won't refill my prescription without some lab work. I sure hope you get that heat fixed.
Chris that is funny. Who turns the heat to 40? That is not a serious setting. More like torture. Babies are so fun.
Kathy do you add chicken or some other protein to those vegetables? Might help with cravings. Glad you're still working out.
Lower body workout was today. Tomorrow is Zumba. I am still loving my gym classes. Started adding more nitrates and phosphates to my tank. Numbers are not moving.
Shelley0 -
My knees were hurting yesterday so no recumbent. I did a core and indoor walking workout.
Shelley I’m still on the 31 days of Veggies for January. Will be adding meat back on Feb 1. But will still have meatless days. The veggie recipes have been delicious.
Kathy1 -
Hope everyone's got heat now and staying warm....so cold!
Well we got some tough news....my husband does have Parkinson's disease. We are so upset ....my husband is in denial understandably. So we have a lot of learning to do and he a lot of treatment to explore. Trying to digest the news and take care of ourselves right now. The doctor follow-up is Tuesday.
Trying to stay positive, but a lot of tears shed.
Thank you for all of the prayers,
Karen1 -
Oh, Karen, I am so sorry and sad for your husband and you and your family. So heartbreaking. Sending you love and hugs.
