That must feel great @JessicaKrall8. Congratulations on all you accomplished! 🎉 I also got the badge for International Women’s Day, but I’m not sure what I did to receive it.
I’m curious how the day is recognized. Do any of you, or your communities, celebrate in a particular way? I’m going to ask my mother if there’s something special she would like to do together to honor her, since I just arrived at her house tonight.
I think I’ll also try to send a couple of cards and/or email messages to some women who I admire or who have supported me in some way. I feel as though the current context in the USA requires us to stick together. 🕊️🙋♀️
I had too many calories today so I decided to take the free shuttle from the airport to a stop that drops me about 1.5 miles from my mother’s house. It’s only about 4 stops on the bus so I walked from there to get more steps. My sister offered to pick me up but I got in a bit late. So, I told her my son could drive me 🤫, which is true but I didn’t call him.
It was a little windy on my face but my body felt warm while walking, despite the 34 degree weather. I saw lots of rabbits 🐇 — at least 4 of them - while walking along a little path by the water that has a strip of grass between the ocean inlet and path. It’s an industrial area so I was pleasantly surprised.

Woot! Finally! Not happy about losing an hour of sleep but definitely happy about the daylight. Of course it's dark again in the morning but that only lasts a week or so. Still looking for the Dr Pepper LOL
Driving back to Maryland today so step count will suffer a bit.
Have a great day everyone!

@jessicakrall8 well done on your Women's Day badge for strength training for also strength of character to battle through your pain & struggles 💪
@PatriceFitnessPal we have a few events in my town & the city of Manchester to mark International Women's Day.I didn't attend any this year but I have in previous years eg workshops, events marking the suffragettes & alot of museums celebrate the event.

That’s nice to hear @izzyred9400. I’ll have to pay more attention to the local events in my area. My mother wasn’t feeling motivated to do anything to celebrate but I had a wonderful brunch with my sister and two of my closest friends yesterday (Sunday). I hope everyone is having a good start to the week!

I was struggling to concentrate on my work today, so I didn’t get outdoors at all, but I finished a key task 😅 — I’m glad it’s behind me now and I hope to get outside to walk tomorrow!

I forgot to say last week that I'm going to try for 7000 steps. Last week I was sick, so I failed to get close most of the days.

I have to say I'm a terrible representation of my gender. I didn't even realize it was women's day until I earned the badge, and it would never have occurred to me to celebrate it. 😕

Hello Shape Shifters. Not a very fun post from me today. I wanted to let you all know I will be leaving the group soonish. I have been here for 3,5 years and it has helped me a lot. Lately I feel like this isn't really my place anymore. Maybe I have gotten everything out of it that I needed. I will be looking for more support IRL because I think that would be better for me. If you would like to stay in touch, feel free to shoot me a message.
I will still be here for the rest of March and the whole of April. Hopefully one of you is able to help Jessica out with the spreadsheet. If you have 5 minutes a day to spare, that would already be enough since it is just adding steps and weigh ins most of the time. Let one of us know if you would be interested in becoming a co-captain.
Thanks for making this an awesome group everyone 💜

The weather was so nice today and I thought I would walk to the grocery store but I ended up cleaning my mother’s porch and washing her kitchen windows. So, I was moving a bit but didn’t get my steps — trade offs! I’m in Boston to help my mother so I guess that’s the priority for this week but I have to be careful not to get too far away from my daily goals. I tried to guess my calories though out the day and ended up way over my target , too! 😬 I’ll be more diligent at tracking right away the rest of the week — lesson learned! 😳

@Pupowl — That news makes me sad but I want what’s best for you, and you know what that is (sigh 😔). In-person support sounds like a good idea and I hope the gym is working out well for you as part of your overall circle of support. Still, I’ll miss you!
I’m also planning to stay in touch with you directly so I won’t be goodbye —Thanks for all you’ve done for the team as co-lead with Jessica!

@Pupowl I'm so sorry to hear that! I was happy to see your post because I hadn't seen you in a bit, but then I read it.
@PatriceFitnessPal I hope things are good up in Bahston.
