Happy St. Patrick’s Day! I had a lot of work to catch up on today so my step count is terrible! It was beautiful weather today but I only got outside briefly— when I got in the car to pick up my husband at the airport! Tomorrow is a soccer night so it will be a more active day!

I had an appointment with my specialist yesterday, nothing much happened. We have to wait until my next ultrasound in June to decide what next steps will be. Until then we continue with a high dose of progesterone. We did change the type of progesterone though to see if I will tolerate it a bit better, little did I know it would be 3x the cost!! The price difference will be worth it if I don't wake up drenched in sweat every morning.
This hormone therapy has been a crazy ride, I did mention to her that I find it a little bit harder to control my weight while taking the meds. She said it's pretty common and asked if I've heard of calorie counting….. I said yes I use MyFitnessPal and EatThisMuch.
She said great, track and eat less…… well she isn't wrong and I really didn't expect an easy solution, but….. Oh well…… onward I go
7 -
@CasandraW Oh no, paying 3 times as much is horrible. Hopefully it will work better. I sometimes also wake up soaked in sweat so I understand it will be worth the cost if that gets resolved! If only 'track and eat less' was as easy as it sounds. 😅 Good look juggling it all.

@CasandraW I feel you, girl! Menopause therapy, like aging, is not for the weak of heart. It takes time, experimentation, and research to figure out what's best for you. 3x the cost is insane, I agree, but if you get some relief, that's priceless! Hang in there and don't give up! It will be worth it in the end!

Thank you @frankwbrown & @nancyinmiami for stepping up to join the team leaders.I'm sure you'll both do a great job.I love your before & after photos @nancyinmiami Thank you for sharing, you're an inspiration to us all.You also know how difficult it is on this journey.
@CasandraW I hope you find a solution that suits you & hope it's not too much of a financial challenge ! I've suffered with night sweats for about 20 years,I don't know when they're going to stop 😒 Women have it tough !

@izzyred9400 20yrs…OMG that is not what I wanted to hear.
I used to just get them occasionally but since being on the first progesterone it’s almost every night.
Hopefully this other version is better, and hopefully I can stop taking it come June.4 -

Happy Spring, Shape Shifters! As we look forward to longer days and warmer weather, let’s take a moment to remember the year is still young. No matter where we are on our journey, the road of opportunity before us is wide open. Let’s use our experiences wisely to make today count!💜

@CasandraW Did you slap her? Have you ever heard of calorie counting…sheesh. Last year I had some blood work done and this nurse's assistant calls to tell me my cholesterol was a little high and that I should control it with diet and exercise. This person who has no idea what I eat or how much exercise I do. I ignored her because it had never been high before and sure enough at my next check-up it was back to well below limits, but it's crazy how people can just make blanket statements like that. 🤬
Unrelated…whenever I try to quote a post I get an error saying that there's a permission problem. Anyone else running into that now?

Off to get a bone density scan this afternoon, hoping for improvement since last time. When I heard the other day that the astronauts lost approximately 60% of their bone density in the 9 months they were in space I was shocked. 😯 I need to adopt their regimen for regaining.
WRT hot flashes, I'm one of those people who is constantly cold so I was actually looking forward to them. LOL I can do without the night sweats though.
@Pupowl Of course you should continue to post while you are still here!

Happy Spring 🌷🌷🌷
What are your goals for Spring - mine are to increase my steps and water💕💕
7 -
My spring goals are to try and move forward as best I can.
Today, I made it out to the foodbank I volunteer at. I haven't been since my mom passed, I find I'm struggling to do the things I used to do. Today I got there, next week we'll see. I am being kind to myself, and taking one day at a time. Some days are good, some are not and that's ok.
7 -
@CasandraW it's been 6 mos since mine passed away - big hugs to you - I wonder if this is why my anxiety has been high😢😕

It sounds like you’re working hard to get back to a familiar routine @CasandraW — wishing you strength along with @LaurieWrobo and @angmarie28. It’s so difficult to lose a parent.
I’ve long complained that we need more research on hormones. I hope everyone who is suffering from hot flashes can get relief soon!
@DaffyGirl88, I used to feel cold all the time, too, but now I get hot at night, so I usually deal with it by layering my clothing and blankets. I wear no sleeve tops and shorts when I sleep, but I keep a pair of sweatpants and a long sleeve top at the end of the bed to put on when I wake up.I agree with everyone else who commented the Calories In/ Calories Out concept is a lot easier in theory than practice! I’m struggling this month and hope that I can turn the corner.
The motivational posts about spring and the opportunity ahead are helpful. I appreciate the uplifting message and I’m going to take them to heart. My goal for spring is to move more. Rowing and the official spring soccer season both start soon so I’m hoping to establish a better exercise and eating routine. My real challenge has been an increase in snacking so I need to track everything honestly and make healthier nutrition choices.
I’m trying to shake a funky mood today. I have a lot on my mind, with a lot of tasks I need to finish, and I was not very productive today. I don’t know how to explain it but my emotions feel very dis-regulated. So, I’m trying to focus on some positive thoughts. For example, I’m looking forward to celebrating my son’s college graduation in May. I’m picturing myself hitting a normal BMI range, wearing a cheery outfit at the graduation, and celebrating over a nice family dinner together. My husband is at a meeting tonight so I’m going to keep dinner simple and just make a protein shake. Then, I’m going to clean my desk so I can start fresh tomorrow! Best wishes, everyone. I hope your day is going well.

Today is a low movement day, unfortunately. A big storm is rolling thru, triggering a migraine, my various joints to ache, and my bad left thumb to get stuck in position. Tomorrow it is supposed to clear up, so I am hoping I can get some errands done (and the ability to move my thumb back). Unfortunately, a big weather front is due over the weekend. With luck, the air pressure changes won't be so severe. I'm hoping to resume walking on the treadmill this weekend if I can manage it! I'm badly out of shape; when I had to stand for an hour cause housework, it felt like my feet and legs were going to fall off.

Drip, drip, drip! But I guess I’m dripping in the right direction, right? I was hoping (dare I use the word “expecting”?) a better result this week.
We’ve all had those weeks where we’re expecting to see amazing results after doing all the right things, only to be disappointed after stepping on the scale. How do you all deal with a let-down?8
