Oops! If I had known I was so close to my daily step goal, I would have walked around the house a bit. I’ll make up the difference today.

Another new experience since moving to Alaska! We are currently under a volcano watch for Mt Spurr which is about 100 miles from us (as the crow flies). I guess depending on the weather/winds ash might become a problem. We have taken the recommended steps to be prepared, now it’s just wait and see what happens.4 -

Congratulations to our team winners, @Krysless2 @LaurieWrobo and @morenin and to all of us for coming in first place!
I didn't have the best weekend with food. I had pizza on Saturday and McDonald's on Sunday. I also didn't do much exercise other than some walks and a short, slow run Friday evening.
The good news is my hip is feeling better, though I'm not sure it's 100% quite yet. I'm going to get back to the gym this week but try to be gentle with my hip (minimal running, but I do have a few Garmin running badges for the month that I have just a little more to go on).
My calories have slowly been sneaking up again, so I'm going to get them back down this week. And lastly, I want to add in some body weight exercises to work a bit on strength, starting today.
Anyway, this is just a quick check in to reflect on where I am, and what I need to work on. I hope everyone has a good week!

Monday check inPW: 172.6
CW: 169.8
Steps:
3/17: 8953
3/18: 7032
3/19: 9063
3/20: 7036
3/21: 7031
3/22: 7025
3/23: 8640
I'm on a different track that includes eating a lot more protein, not really worrying about my calories, weight lifting twice a week, and making sure I walk at least 7000 steps. It may not be fast, but it seems to be working so far, thank goodness.

Thanks, @Zaxa2021 ! I was really surprised. I wish I could say I deserved it, but mostly I've been a lump. I'm just trying to move away from eating my emotions, with mixed success. Like @sunshinezombiegirl1 , I've been trying to add more protein in my diet, though I admit I am cheating and using low cal, low sugar protein shakes to help with that. When I was sick, I was living on processed carbs, and besides being bad for me, I think they made me swell up a few pounds. I didn't realize that was possible, but I have no other logical explanation.

@morenin - I have trouble getting enough protein, too. You’re right about the extra water that comes with eating carbs. I’ve heard that for every gram of carbs (or the glycogen that is produced by the carbs) adds 3-4 grams of water. It’s not realistic for me to give up carbs longterm but I’d like to cut out as many processed carbs as possible. I’m glad you’re feeling better. 👍
