Good morning all,

Not sure if I mentioned this but I signed up for the 5 borough bike ride in NYC on 4 May. I really need to get outside on my bike and start getting some mileage under my wheels. The ride is 40 miles long (45 with the ride back to the Staten Island Ferry). I've upped my miles on my Peloton but haven't been outside yet, keep your fingers crossed that the weather holds for the weekend. Last week we had 25 MPH winds, not riding in THAT! LOL
Have a great day everyone!

Here’s my weekly weigh in report —
- Name: PatriceFitnessPal
- Weigh-in Day: Thursday
- PW: 149.9
- CW: 149.1
Yesterday, I was about a pound less on the scale than today, but I’ll take the loss! My starting weight was 168 so I liked that number because it’s almost 20 pounds lower than when I started. I’m looking forward to achieving a 20 pound loss milestone — again! I’m close to a normal BMI for my height so my short-term goal is 140 and my ultimate goal is to maintain my weight between 125 and 130.
Best wishes, Shape Shifters!

Hello Shape Shifters. Just a little catch up post from me. A few days ago I managed to 'fix' the door of my dryer. It is not sturdy by any means and I doubt it will hold up for very long, but the door can close so I can use it again. I haven't heard from my insurance yet.
I have been enjoying the gym a lot. Yesterday I had to rescue an elderly gentleman. I was doing my weights and he stepped on the treadmill on the other side of the gym. I noticed the treadmill kept going up, lol. There was only one trainer in the gym and he was working with someone else. So I dropped what I was doing and went over to help him out. When I got there, he was at a 15% incline! He wanted to go faster and kept pressing the wrong buttons so the treadmill went up. I am really glad he didn't fall off because that would have been a disaster. He later told me he would be 93 years old soon which was very inspiring. I do think they need to keep a better eye on people like that since he needs help with almost every machine. I later saw him biking home with his walking cane strapped to the back, absolutely nuts.
Today it is the 10 year anniversary of me adopting Tinus. It somehow feels longer and not that long at the same time. I did a mini photoshoot with him in the living room in front of my favourite wall tapestry. He jumped down once, but then realised I had treats to bribe him with, so he decided to humour me and stayed put. I think the pictures turned out pretty cute. I hope everyone is doing well. 🧡6 -
Yes, the soak felt great! I started in the steam room, to attack the dust in my sinuses, then a soak in the spa, then a plunge in the unheated (61℉) outdoor pool to get that tingly feeling all over. I wore my HOKA Speedgoat trail running shoes which provide excellent support, so my feet feel fine. My leg muscles are a different story. I'm missing my tai chi session right now because I thought it best to give my legs a little more time. I'll try a medium walk this afternoon here in "Flatland" (gotta get my 10k steps).

Thank you for having me!
A little about me- in my early forties and had my son four years ago. Also entering perimenopause is making it harder to shed my extra weight. I eat very healthily, however I know my portions are a big part of the problem. I tend to snack at night after everyone is in bed and I want to get on top of that. I'm going to use MFP to monitor my calories and try to stop when I've hit my goal. I am plant based and try to eat a lot of veg but I know I can do better. My goal weight is 147lbs, which is still ten pounds heavier than my pre baby weight but I'll be very happy with that. Thank you all again!

hello Shape Shifters: my apologies for being AWOL this week. My daughter has been in the hospital since Monday. Is it gallbladder? Ulcer? Something else? Your guess is as good as mine and she’s had a battery of tests. I’m so tired I can’t even see straight, and seeing her in so much pain is heartbreaking. So @jessicakrall8 I will need to be excused from this week’s weigh in. I’m trying not to stress eat my emotions, but sometimes a Snickers bar is better than hospital cafeteria food. I’ll check in next week.

I'm super excited that I finally had a good woosh this week. I've really been focusing on avoiding extra/mindless snacking and the accuracy of my tracking. For exercise, I am going to the gym, but a bit less frequently than usual. But I'm doing very little running at the moment and doing more on the stair climber since it seems to be a bit gentler on my hip, which is still not 100% healed. I am still doing lots of walks, since my boys like it and the weather is still allowing us to be outside before it gets super hot again. My most recent high weight was around 161, so I'm hoping to hit the 20lb loss mark soon. Next week might be slightly ambitious, but some time in April, for sure.
Today, the boys have speech and occupational therapy in the morning, and in the afternoon, I get to drop them off at my mom's for the weekend. Weekends when the boys are gone tend to be pretty bad as far as sticking to my meal plans. We tend to eat out or just order in for a meal or two. Or three... So my goal is to not do this. I'll allow myself one meal if my husband and I go out (no ordering in) and I'll try to be smart about the choices I make. I have a lot of chores and errands to catch up on, but I'm also going to aim for a nice long workout or two. I want to keep the momentum going while I'm in the zone and seeing results.
Happy Friday, everyone!

i am off for a much needed ladies weekend trip. work has been so draining lately, if i have to sit thru another town hall, 360 performance evaluation or read another email about touching base, circling back, leverage the low hanging fruit or other corporate nonsense i will burst. my only concern about this weekend is that one of the friend group has just started a strict weight loss program so they're hyper concerned about food intake, whereas i'm there to relax…not quite sure how we'll navigate this.
happy weekend!

Not the greatest week for diet or exercise. I'm still giving my kid a ride home from work at 130am on weekdays and my other kid at the same time on weekends, so I have been super tired and no able to get up early to workout. Yesterday everytime i tried lifting weights, i had a terrible headache, so i had like a 10 minute workout, ha. I took Wednesday off work, really needed the extra day off, used it to brush out my dogs (newfoundlands) and be lazy. My diet was lazy, snacking, meal prepped but was not impressed with my meals so I didn't eat much of them. I was also so tired from the lack of sleep and the extra shifts I picked up last week, that I found myself comfort eating more than I should have. But my weight still went down so I'll take it.

Yesterday was a sloth day, most of the day I felt like I was running late even though I had nowhere to be and nothing scheduled. I am choosing to view it as the Universe telling me to stand still, breathe deeply and make sure I am on the right path (I think I am) . Today has felt more centered and like a chance to start a new step streak😉.
