Today has been very windy so it feels colder than the temperature shows. The man who was baptized in the river called the cold water "refreshing". He does take cold showers on a regular basis so he is used to cold water. One of the men who went in the river also to help with the baptism hit his big toe on a rock and broke his toenail down to the quick. It was not bleeding very much but we told him to clean the broken nail really well to get the dirt out of it so he does not get an infection.

Our sermon was on the feeding of the 5000. The minister told us to examine our hearts to see if we have the attitude of the disciples who said to send them away or do we see possibilities in the small amount we have (5 loaves and 5 fishes) but believe that God can do miracles with what we offer to him. He called it having a "scarcity" or an "abundant" mindset. I need to work on that because I tend to look at how little I have and not realize that all Jesus wants to what we have and he will work with it to what He needs.

Susan - I wish that we had some groups in our area that sing on a regular basis. I used to do that when I was in college and did quite a bit of traveling to other churches with the trio I sang with. I am sorry that Colin is having nerve pain. I think you are doing all you can by offering different treatments. If his joint is so sensitive, and he does not want heat or cold, I don't have an answer to anything different.

Judith - I pray that it does not take much longer to get the new ointment approved. If it would help, I would hope that they would expatiate the process. I know there are criteria and there are probably lots of people who also want their medication approved at the same time.

Barb - praying for all of you. Each person has different needs and God knows what they are and will meet them in His time.

Must get dinner ready - have a good evening.

All is well at our home - have had some trouble with my legs and my right foot but with God being the great physician things are starting to heal.

Last weekend we celebrated the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. On Easter Sunday we had 20 people baptised- so great to witness this- and June there will be another Baptism service only it will be in the river - we get a good turn out for that as well (usually at least 10) and then so many non churchgoers get to witness this

This mornin our Pastor told us for the Good Friday Service (there was 2 of them)and Easter Sunday Service (4 services throughout the building) that there was 2,500 in attendance -we are a growing church of people that are living for Christ daily.

Be blessed, take time to listen to what He has to say to you.

Susan I feel, with Australia, & Hing Kong it’s like the world prayong for him. We got lots of states in PA plus Canada praying for him. Plus I’m sure missionaries that HH & 3 know praying. Plus people relatives too. Prayers for your next gig with the Star light singers next Monday. That is neat supporting cancer too 🙏🏻🙏🏻

Linda. A river baptism so cool that I’ve never seen. I’m sure the water was still, cold like you, mentioned. A long service. Neat. We get to be 80* tomorrow.

Today was a different Sunday at church for me. Harry took HH to see 3. So I was by myself in SS & church. I forgot my cellphone and with having lunch with James and family needed it plus any report on 3 I needed my phone. So I left got it then I heard that no lunch with James as Eli, 11 years was not feeling good. Well then it ended that James went to see his brother & Kim and kids were at the plaza. So, to see them I had to leave church. I also, had Kaelyn’s lap blanket I made her. I’m making one for each of my grnad kids when they run 13. She will be 13 on May Day. So I went there by walking & she loved it! I also, saw 3 got so,e more liquids I him pray that 1&2 bathroom would work.
his CT scan showed that his ventricles are clearing up in His brain. The CS C what the drain is called is looking clearer. His nurse & dr thinks he still will have surgery for a shunt Tuesday.
    pray for God’s will.
I'm praying his double vision goes bye bye too. Thank you again

I’ll include pictures of my grandkids with Kaelyn & her lap blanket, granny square I made.

Susan, it’s late evening here, Sunday at 11:30pm. I fell asleep earlier that why I am up now. Thanks for filling me in about the Starlight singers that are in your community. I do remember now that you said you played the flute at Church. A Flute is a lovely instrument. Hope your Uke practice is all good, and Colin has a good Physio session. I am so sorry Colin has had a lot of Nerve pain in his knee. It’s too bad he won’t let you help him with the pain cream and the ice and hot packs. Hope the Physio will help him today. So nice your Church is praying for Harry. My Bible Study will pray for him tomorrow during our prayer time. It’s great that you are having a fundraiser for Cancer Research in your community. Thank you for your prayers Susan and yes I am thankful my liver hasn’t been affected from the treatment. I sure hope I hear this week that the med has been approved. I have some updates I will post tomorrow on our prayer thread.

It’s late now so will call it a night.
I think I am missing Linda and Barb due to time changes. Will catch up with you tomorrow. Good Night and God Bless.
    😴🛌🙏🤗😇

MFP must have hidden some posts from you again, Judith, as Linda, Barb and Marilyn all posted above you. It's weird how it does that. It's good to hear how you are doing. I'll be thinking of you, Harry3 and Linda at the cancer research fund-raiser, plus about other friends and relatives who have had cancer. One of the sings we will sing is The Rose. I'm playing flute for that. It's an emotional song and will make me think of you.

Barb, those photos tell a beautiful story! How lovely that you could give your granddaughter her lap blanket and give her cuddles too. You are a loving Grandma. Thank you for updating us about Harry3. We're praying for him.

Marilyn, I loved the sound of your Easter services and praise God for allowing some healing for you. May He continue to bless you.

Linda, that poor man and his injury! I hope he doesn't get an infection. Yes, Colin has his own mind set about health and remedies. I have to let him choose what he allows. It's hard as he sort of gets frozen in his pain and won't let me help. I didn't think of anything else I could do for him either.

Judith. I hope you could see my picture of me and Kaelyn & Eli, my grandkids from Branson. I Kaelyn’s bday is 5/1, May Day so I gave her, the lap, blanket granny square that I made for, her bday as she turns 13 on Thursday.
Praying for you and all you have going on. Prayers for you and Thursday with all you have going on. The Lord heals.

Susan. Praying for Colin. So, sorry for his pain and all that is going on with him. Nerve pain has to be so painful.
The rose song, sounds neat as the flute is such a neat instrument. I know I’ve told you that my daughter, Elisabeth plays it as my sister Cheryl plays it too. So I’ve grown up with the flute, plus hearing my daughter and many band performances. Prayers

Linda Praying for Glenn too. Hope you can get it all fixed up for him. Trust you had an nice day.

Marilyn Trust your legs are healing strengthening. Prayers

Today we heard Harry 3 will have surgery again tomorrow. They will put a permanent shunt in his brain so no more brain drain. Today it was pink & not clear as yesterday. This will help, with his healing & he will be able to, get out of ICU if there is a room. The surgery is 11:30 CDST but could be later. It’s only a 45 minute operation.
Today he got pizza for supper. So I’m sure he was pleased with that. He also had his feet dangling on the side of the bed & picked the, up on to his bed himself. I was quite impressed with that. Thank you for the prayers. Maybe in his own room or out of icu he can see his daughters?
Have a good night. Day for Susan!

Today we worked on the raised garden beds and got them ready for plants. A friend is giving us some tomato plants that she started from seeds several months ago. She is giving me some Roma as well as a heirloom called Peron. I have not heard of them but I do think the heirloom tomatoes do have a richer taste. My Columbine plant evidently shed it's seeds into my pot next to it that I had parsley in last year. There are multiple little plants coming up. It is our state flower and Glenn's favorite. Out in the mountains they grow wild but it is against the law to pick them. I do not know how many people are aware of that law. I hope it does not extend to plants on my patio. HaHa We just came from walking a mile round trip to our yearly HOA meeting. They did not talk about much since we did not have a quorum of homeowners. It is good to be able to put faces to who lives in which houses.

Marilyn - It is so good to see your posting. I am glad that your leg and foot are doing better. It sounds like your Good Friday and Easter service were well attended. It is inspiring that so many people were touched by the gospel. How are your kidney blood tests doing?

Judith - I look forward to the update on the prayer thread tomorrow. We continue to pray for the new medication to be approved as well as that it works as they want it to do.

Barb - I am excited that my lilac bush is finally blooming. It smells so sweet. My neighbor has a bush that is a darker purple than mine. I saw in Caring Bridge that HH was able to play her violin for Harry3 as he was eating breakfast. I have heard that music can calm so many things in the body - slow the heart and breathing, help digestion, calm racing minds and anxiety etc. I am praying that the shunt surgery does help Harry3 in his healing. Maybe the double vision will be taken care of with the relief of pressure. It will be wonderful when I hear that he is moved from ICU into a regular room and he can see his precious girls. I am sorry that you were not able to eat lunch with James and family but happy that you were able to give the lap blanket to your granddaughter. The black background really makes the colors stand out in the centers. Kaelyn's smile is so pretty and shows how much she appreciates the blanket.

Susan - I hope Colin's nerve pain is better today. I have not had it, but I have heard that it is more uncomfortable than surgical pain or general pain. I am sure that he appreciates you trying to help.

    Good Morning All

Barb, I scrolled up past my post and Praise God the pictures and Post you shared that MFP blocked the other night was there. I am so happy to see the pictures. You are so lovely with your long hair and your grandkids are so sweet, the Granny Square Blanket is Beautiful. I love it. You did a wonderful job in knitting all the squares, love the colors. Your granddaughter will love her blanket. I will keep Harry in prayer for Tuesday’s surgery for placing the shunt. Praying it will be successful surgery and the shunt will do its work. I will check on the update page and keep informed on how Harry is doing.

Susan, I don’t know why MFP blocks things from us seeing some of the posts, I scrolled up past my post and found everyone’s post. When I posted Sunday night all I saw was your post which I replied to. I came on here late and posted some of the threads that will show Monday night. It’s now Tuesday morning after midnight. Today you said you are going to the Cancer Fund Raiser and will be playing your Flute, you said one of the songs would be “The Rose” I am sure it’s a lovely song. My prayers continue for Colin and hope the pain subsides.

Marilyn, good seeing you on here, thank you for posting. Good to see your leg and foot are doing better. You have a large Church, reading about all the Servives you have reminded me of my old Home Church I attended back East. We were one of the largest Churches in the area. We had a balcony and an overflow area for people to sit if they came in late. I so enjoyed hearing about the Baptisms you had on Easter Sunday. We had a Baptism on Easter Sunday. So special having members step into the Baptismal tank, I always get teary eyed every time I am at a Baptism. Both my children were Baptized at young ages, they came to Jesus when they were 8 years of age, remember the day with them kneeling at the altar at the front of the church praying the Sinners prayer inviting Jesus to come into their hearts and lives. It was a year later they met with our Pastor and asked the Pastor if they could be baptized. Both my children followed the Lord in Baptism. My prayers continue for you Marilyn. How are your kidneys and how have the blood tests results been. Trusting your numbers are good.

Linda, sounds like you are getting all ready for planting. So nice you were given the tomato plants to plant in your garden. I have my front part of the yard near the fence line in front of my trees all cleared out. I pruned the branches of the Azalea Bushes back and the branches that were hanging down from my largest Pine Tree. My Hosta has doubled in size, looks so healthy. Your Columbine Plant sounds lovely. You said you had parsley tomatoes you are planting, are there any other vegetables you plant? I plant tomatoes yearly and get good crops. I am planting Bell Peppers again, never grown herbs, is Parsley hard to grow and maintain? I look forward to hear about your planting experiences.

Well gals. It’s really late now. Signing off now and will head to bed. Good Night All!
    😴🛌🙏🤗

Good morning, all. It's a lovely day here, not too hot and not too cold, little cloud and plenty of sunshine.

Judith, I'm praying about your next appointments and your healing. I'm sorry MFP keeps blocking you from seeing our posts. I wonder if the page needs to be refreshed each day? We do have the fund-raiser on Monday. There's another rehearsal this afternoon. I also have a Uke practice session this afternoon. We'll be ready for the Greatest Morning Tea on Monday. It has a Mad Hatter's theme so I am going to be Alice in Wonderland again and do some of the MCing. There is a prize for the craziest hat so attendees will all dress up too. We're singing The Rose, Alice Blue Gown, Who Wants to be a Millionaire, Little Peter Rabbit/The Battle Hymn of the Republic and The Push-bike Song. The Guitar Gems (nine guitarist Village residents) will play also. We'll take turns singing and them playing. It should be a fun time. We have 150 booked in to attend that I know of.

Linda, yes, I think Colin's nerve pain has eased today. He isn't acting like it hurts yet. I'm sure there is always pain but it is the days he gets acute waves of pain that are the hardest. I actually got up before he did this morning and tried to silently get the dogs out etc without waking him. Sleep is good for his pain. He got an extra half hour of sleep that way. I like the sound of your gardening starting up again. Lol about the law extending to your own plants on your own balcony. I can't imagine that would be the case!

Barb, I'll post about Harry3's next surgery on our prayer group. I sure hope the shunt improves his quality of life. It should stop him needing to have tubes and external help with draining the fluids, right? Oh, that would be so lovely if he could be moved out of ICU and get to see his girls again! Will pray. It sounds like you have a musical family too. Ours sure is involved in the arts. My 10yo granddaughter just took up the flute. We have dancers, actors, musicians and writers in our family, as well as clever ones who have trades in things other than the arts, but we are no strangers to music, dance and theatre here! It's nice to know you also have musicians in your family.

Successful surgery. It didn’t start till 1:45. I was by myself as a coworker had a dentist appointment made 3 months ago. I can’t believe that Harry’s boss could not see to getting a trip, out at 4, when you have a son having brain second one in 11 days. Thats hard to believe. Oh well. Surgery was successful & we met the surgeon on way back to 3’s room as we went to eat while 3 had scans shunt placement and CT scan.
so he will stay in ICU for tonight and move to a room tomorrow morning.
He looks good too. Now for recovery and rehab where more recovery will happen.
    Thank you for the prayers.

Susan. Prayers for Colin and all your practicing. You keep busy. So, neat to have a grandchild playing the flute too!

Yes all our kids play an instrument we spent lots of money on private lessons. Kaelyn is playing the clarinet and the school like her to play the oboe. Next year I think she may start that. They start instruments in 7 g in Branson, 5 grade out here. Just heard she won first place in a art project and made 7 g honor band!,

As Colin got some extra sleep and a bit Lars’s pain prayong it continues.

Linda. So, your lilacs are blooming & they are done blooming here. We got irises and I’m seeing some roses now blooming. I will, have more irises. Blooming soon.
i,have several Columbines and even bought another as most of my Columbines are the same in different places. I knew it was Colorado’s state flower. Sun flower is Kansas.

Judith I loved the devotional. Especially with the strength in our weakness I needed that today. Waiting when in surgery is hard especially when by one’s self.
prayers for you and all you are going through.
prayers for wisdom too. So, glad you got to, see the pictures!!!

Marilyn so, glad to, hear from you I hope your leg and foot are still doing well. Also, prayong for your kidney.

    Stay well, all.

It was our usual busy Tuesday with a 2 hour Bible study on zoom with my Denver friends and then our study at our house with our Grand Junction friends that lasted 1 1/2 hour. My friend who brought me the Roma tomatoes brought the two heirloom tomatoes tonight. They are quite a bit bigger than the Romas. We will harden them off for a few days then plant them Friday or this weekend.

Susan - It is good that Colin's nerve pain seems to be less today and he was able to sleep a bit longer. All the songs your are singing on Monday sound so fun and and the costumes will make it even better. Do you expect more people to sign up in the next few days? 150 that are certain sounds like a nice sized group. A while ago you were having problems with your hand and had to stop playing the Uke. I am glad that you are able to do it again.

Judith - It is nice that we have the raised beds ready for planting but it will be a few days before we can get to the greenhouse to get more plants. We usually do mostly tomatoes but we may try zucchini this year. Last year we tried beets and carrots but we were not home enough to keep them watered and they died. I do have parsley, mint and dill that come up every year and some perennial flowers like the Columbine, geranium, morning glories, mums, and one that I do not know the name of but found it growing when we dug out the old patio to put in new edging.

Barb - I am so glad that the surgery is over! HH said that Harry3 seems to be more alert today after the surgery. Hopefully he can participate in this therapies with more wakefulness and maybe better vision. I'm sorry that your Harry could not be with you at the bedside as you waited for the surgery to be over. It will be so nice when Harry3 can be in a regular room with more privacy and more visitors. I updated my Bible study group this morning and they were so glad to hear he is doing so well.

Susan, we have more in common as I come from a Musical family. My Dad was a professional musician, he Lead and created the Barbershop Quartet in parts of Ontario, Canada. He was in Theater and lead Chiors and Plays, was hired as a 10 year old boy to play the Churches piano while his Dad played the pipe organ, they both sang also. I was in all the Church Choirs, took Vocals in school played piano and was in school plays. I was in Dance, Ballet, Tap and Jazz. My Grandmother played piano and great-grandmother played piano for the Church Sunday services and taught her children to play. My son and daughter played guitar, drums violin in school and both my Grandkids are very Musical, Dance and has end of year concerts, Drama, play piano ongoing. My Grandson is in the School Band and plays Guitar. Both Grandkids are now writing Piano arrangements. So Susan we have a lot in common. I can hardly wait to see the Hat you create, so happy you are playing the Flute and the Ukulele. Love the music your group is going to sing. I look forward to the pictures of the Musical and all the Costumes you are wearing and the Choral Group singing and maybe the Band of you all playing your instruments. Would Colin or a friend who is not in the play be able to take some pictures of the day and share them for us to see.

I posted one reply and went to refresh my page to be sure I don’t miss any of the other posts. Linda, thanks for making comment about wondering if it would help. It did. Susan, happy Colin was able to sleep another hour and his nerve pain was less severe. Will continue to pray.

Barb, I am rejoicing that Harry did so well in his surgery and that you and Hong Hong said he looked brighter in the way he was responding. I will update my Bible Study group with the Praise Report and of course praying for his ongoing recovery and healing. So glad the Devotional I posted was able to help you while you were waiting for Harry to come out of surgery. I am also so happy Harry is being moved to a room later, trusting he will be able to see his girls and be encouraged with having regular visits with being out of ICU. It was nice reading all about your Musical family. It seems that we all are Musical here. I am sure you are blessed as much as I am watching our Kids and Grandkids develop skills in various areas of Music, Voice and playing an Instrument. Do you still play any instrument now Barb? I don’t but wish I never stopped playing piano. I am part of our Worship Team, but not now while I am in treatment.

Linda, so glad you had a good Bible Study on Tuesday morning, and yes 2 hours would make a full day for sure. So nice you have many lovely flowers and plants that are coming up in the garden, and yes raised garden beds do help. Like you I mainly grew tomatoes only because they always did so well and always a huge crop. Your Roma and Heritage tomatoes 🍅 will be so nice for you to plant, hope you get a good crop. Like you I also grow Mums, Asters, Pansy’s, Carnations, Hosta and Azalea Bushes. One is in Bloom and it’s in a Fuchsia color. So bright & lovely. I have had a small herb garden, Parsley, Basil and Oregano. Might try this year. You said you grow Mint, is that hard to grow? Maybe you can give me some tips on how to care for a Mint plant. Thank you.

Well it’s late now, night owl I am tonight. It’s 12:40am so it’s Good Night and God Bless. 😴🛌🙏🤗😇

    Hello everyone.

Judith, I remember you telling us about your musical Dad and your own accomplishments before. Yes, it seems we all have music, dance and drama in our lives! As for Monday, I will ask Colin to take some photos. I will be dressed as Alice in Wonderland again so won't be in the fancy hat parade. I will be keeping the program moving by introducing various people and activities. There's a lot of other things happening before Monday. For example, today 350 of us are booked in to go to the meet and greet with the new owners of our Village. (Remember there are around 500 people who live in our Village). The Village was sold before Christmas and we haven't seen the new owner group yet. They have been way more elusive than our first owners, to put it kindly, and impressions of their management style have not been good, so I hope we get a better impression today.

Linda, sounds like you had a good Bible study for sure. And the garden is going to be wonderful. Yes, I did have trouble with my wrist and hand for over a year but the De Quervain's in my wrist seems to have almost settled (I still have to be careful with it and there is mild pain always) and the Arthritis I have learned to live with. I didn't want to stop playing Ukelele and flute.

Barb, that is good news about Harry3's surgery. I hope he can get out of ICU soon too. Sorry you had to be alone while waiting for him to come through the surgery. I know what that feels like having been through many such occasions with Colin. Colin's pain is unlikely to go away but he has good days and bad days. Yesterday his Dr told him the nerve pain was likely to be damage from having Diabetes for 30+ years. We were sad about that but we'll soldier on.

So no rooms opened up so Harry 3 is still in icu till a room opens up. He is not considered ICU patient so that is good. In Gods time he will move to a room. The. rehab. They decided on which one making sure his insurance covers it. He sat in a chair today & had a good PT though it tired him out. I. Rehab he will have 3 hours a day & not just 30 minutes. Prayers for continued healing. Harry 3 plays the French horn & can play a trumpet since he played the mellophone as that is what he used in marching band. HH has her doctorate in composing. She had to write her own piece for an orchestra. She can play any string instrument. Violin started @ age 4. She likes the Pipa a Chinese lute.
I have a rose garden & a row of irises Some are starting to bloom.

Susan yes if you can get a picture or 2 you know we would enjoy them prayers it all works well sounds connecting

How is Colin doing with his Diabetes prayers sorry about all the nerve pain thank you for the explanation?

Linda Your Bible study sounds so good we had to end early due to our teacher getting shingles So enjoy, will it go through the summer my Bible study doesn’t ? So we will start up in September

I bought some Roma tomato plants as they are good & cherry tomato plants.

Judith your garden sounds so neat. I love flowers. As more flowers start to bloom, I’ll take pictures.

Trust all are having a good day.
Thank you for all the prayers. It will be a long process. All in Gods hands.

    Evening Hello,

Susan, thank you for seeing if Colin can take some pictures of everyone in the Musical. I am sure you will look so lovely dressed as Alice in Wonderland! With being dressed up I can understand why you wouldn’t be in the Fancy Hat Parade. This is so cool you are going to keep the program moving by introducing the various activities and the people in the Musical. You will have a busy day with joining the other 350 and New owners who bought the Community in December with greeting new people who have moved into the Village. 500 Owners in your Community is a wonderful Group of People to be a part of.
Would your Community be like what they call in some Country’s a “Gated Community” for many of the Expats who have moved to their Country? Hope it is a lovely day Susan!

Barb, so sorry to hear that Harry didn’t move out of the ICU today. But it’s good he is not considered a ICU patient and receiving 3 hours a day in Rehab. Great he is sitting up in a chair. He is doing so well. So encouraging to see this happening. Thank you for sharing your family’s Musical accomplishments. You must be so proud of Hong Hong having her Doctorate in Composing Music and can play any Stringed Instrument. I am sure both she and Harry3 will teach their girls Music. Your Garden sounds lovely Barb, here in BC I don’t have a Rose garden or plant Roses like you and the others do but did back East where I lived prior to BC. Look forward to seeing pictures of your garden when things get better with your dear Harry3. My prayers continue.

I am posting early Wednesday evening as I am at the Cancer Clinic Thursday!

Good Night All… God Bless you…🙏😇🤗

Tonight we had a women's devotional at my friend's house. We discussed the scripture in Isaiah 35 that talks about how "the desert shall rejoice and blossom as the rose; it shall blossom abundantly and rejoice, even with joy and singing" - parts of verses 1 and 2. After that we had the opportunity to get a lesson from a girl that works in a floral shop. We had pint mason jars and flowers supplied so we could make and take home our own bouquet. They had some really pretty tulips, Gerber daisies, carnations, asters, baby's breath, greenery and some flowers I did not recognize. We had a lot of fun creating together. I love hearing about your musical families. I play the piano and Glenn played the Saxophone. I spend several years in college with a traveling choir as well as a traveling trio. Both girls took piano lessons and sang in the choir at school. Two grandchildren play the piano, one plays the clarinet and one other one plays the trombone.

Judith - growing mint is very easy! I have some lemon mint someone gave me a sprig of years ago and I can not kill it. It has taken over my flower bed and grows out into the yard. I do not like the taste of it because it tastes like furniture polish smells (lemon Pledge spray). In our house here in GJ, we have regular mint that I keep in a flower pot so it does not spread and take over the yard here. It is a peppermint so it is stronger than the spearmint. There is also a chocolate mint that does has some flavor of chocolate but I prefer the straight mint. Praying for your regular Thursday visit at the Cancer Clinic.

Susan - It is a bit strange to hear that your new owners are not more present with you. Do they live in the complex? I hope you can have a good discussion with them and be able to express what you like and do not like.

Barb - I am so glad that Harry3 is not considered ICU and can have longer therapy sessions. Since they can focus longer on his strengthening and mobility, I would hope that you will be seeing a lot more progress. It may not be easy work but it is rewarding.

Well, yesterday went better than expected but still left questions in the air. The company that bought our Village is a big one and they already own 7 Villages. They are building 6 more right now. So we shall be only one of 13. One of the Villages they are building has 5000 housing blocks!!! Our Village with only 300+ houses feels small now! Management style will inevitably be less personal with these guys. They brought a team of 10 with them and tried to make it friendly but didn't allow questions this time. In a few months we'll get a Q&A session but the questions have to be pre-submitted. We kind of felt controlled, but we'll give it the benefit of the doubt for now. They are addressing some of the issues we have like leaks in the Clubhouse roof and upgrades to the pool pump house. They are supposed to employ another gardener and an after hours caretaker and fix our entry gate to a new system. At the moment we have an intercom gate system and it fails regularly. It will become a mobile phone one in the future sometime, with visitors for each house linking to that houses' residents' phones. We're not sure if they will make us pay for that change or not.

We got hit with changes to Colin's medical/support package yesterday too. They are withdrawing funding for his physio sessions, home care support and reducing budgets for hardware and technology he might need. He is appealing their decision but it will be a long, drawn our process involving re-assessment by physios, ots and drs. Not nice at all, and quite stressful when he already doesn't feel good!

I have an old school friend coming for lunch today so must go and start that getting ready process. I'm making Caesar salad.

Just got a call. My friend has a migraine so she cancelled coming by for lunch. We'll have the Caesar salad for dinner instead.

Judith, thinking of you as you attend fresh medical appointments. I hope they are bearable. Yes, we're known as a gated community of people over the age of 50. We're also called a Lifestyle Resort for Active Over 50s. These kind of Villages are getting more popular as we can share major facilities like the Clubhouse (it had things like a 64 seat cinema, a golf simulator, games room, library, music room, craft room, board room, ball room and bar plus our stage), pool, tennis courts, 3 lane 10 pin bowling alley, covered lawn bowls greens, community gardens, etc. Our rent of the land our house sits on pays for upkeep and makes the owners a profit.

Linda, no, the owners of our complex hire staff to do their duties and none of the staff lives on site. The owners can rent the house at the gate to someone to be the after hours caretaker and they are trying to find someone right now. The house has an office in it by day but the staff are only available to us from 10am to 12noon each day. There is a sales office in it, too. The caretaker would live upstairs. The owners are a huge company of developers and builders. They specialise in Land Leased Communities (LLCs) like ours.

Barb, that is such good news that Harry3 can move out of ICU when a bed becomes available. That's a lot of rehab each day! He is sounding like he is making good progress now. I just read how he hugged Hong Hong for the first time since his first surgery day. 🥰

    Judith.
Prayers as you had your cancer treatment, today. Do hope all went well plus that you can sleep well. Your drs need wisdom we all are praying for that too.

Susan your place sound nice and active bowling, musicals, library, music rooms, craft room, community gardens etc. wow!, Prayers for Colin and the bill younjust got too.

Linda. My nose got scrunch with your lemon pledge. Kind of nasty I got some kind of mint and it can take over a garden for sure. The making of a bouquet sound nice. Gerber daisy is my daughter Elisabeth’s favorite. Maybe take a picture of yours.
Jean, our other daughter played the alto sax in high school. A bit in band at college too.

Harry 3 got moved to a regular room after I got home so around supper time. Yeah! He also walked some in his 2 PT. The first had him sitting. I think his eyes were a bit open more today so that is good. His pastor finally came by today he prayed with him. I try to read verses and read with him.
So he is healing. He will go to rehab that is where he will, have PT 3 hours a day. Pray he can do that once he is moved to Rehab. I don’t know when that will be.
I made some cookies spice with molasses in them for my mom so I’ll mail them for her for Mother’s Day. My sister is,getting some slippers she needs and I’ll send her the money. That way I’m not mailing them as it can be so, slow. Praying she won’t have to wait to, long for the package.
our irises are starting to bloom so, glad as last year we got cheated out of them. Hardly had any

    Stay well prayers for all

I had an early (to me) meeting this morning for the school. A new company is helping us to be more organized and make our work less. Yea! So far they just talked about what they needed from us and what they have done. I did not have to answer any questions but it was nice to meet the people involved. They are changing my admission system to Google which is harder for me to understand. My computer needs to be reconfigured so I can use the new system. As it is now I am in limbo as to putting any new students in the system. Hopefully they will get my computer to sync so I an transfer files that I need to do. Anyway, after the meeting I went back to bed because I had only had 5 hours of sleep. (The last time I looked at the clock before getting to sleep was 3AM). I had a nice 2 hour nap which did help my mental function and my energy. Tomorrow I have a meeting at 9:30 one at 11 and lunch at 12:30 with a friend so a busy morning. I may need another nap after all that.

Barb - I was so excited to see that Harry3 was able to stand up and hug HH and then later on he was able to take 10 steps. Now being able to see without dizziness is frustrating for him I am sure. Maybe the more he stands, the better his strength, balance and vision will be. We can be praying for that.

Susan - Were you told why Colin is having changes in his medical package? All of those things are important for his physical and mental wellbeing. I hope that it can get resolved without a lot of wait time. I received a bill for my ultrasound of my liver that said I owed money but with both Medicare and a supplemental insurance things should have been covered. I called the hospital financial department to talk to them about it. She was confused because she said that the supplemental had refused to pay for it but a week later they sent in the money. I do not know why they did not want to pay it but I am glad that they reconsidered without me having to appeal the decision. Usually insurances do not do that. Thanks for explaining about the owners of your gated community. It sounds like they are a big agency that is more interested in building more and more and not looking at your individual needs. I hope a lot of people send in questions so you can get some answers.

Judith and Marilyn - Praying for each of you and your health.

Judith, holding you in prayer today as yesterday was likely quite stressful for you.

Linda, yes, we got a phone call then an email saying Colin had to stop his physio etc. They are saying his only disability is hearing loss. They have lost 5 years of supplemental reports, decisions etc so we have to get Colin re-assessed and lodge an appeal. It is all so unnecessary 🙄. I think the government is ruining our health system. It used to work so much better than it does now. I'm glad they sorted out your issues with paying for the liver tests.

Barb, that's so good about Harry3 being moved out of ICU! I hope he goes from strength to strength now. 💪 I am glad his pastor came by. Wow, what a nice thing to do for your Mom! You're a good daughter.

I groomed Archie yesterday. He hates being groomed so I had to be firm with him, but he looks to happy in his after photos. His tail is a blur from wagging. Jasper didn't need to be clipped yet but he will need it in a couple of weeks.

    Evening Hello Everyone

I posted an update on our Prayer Thread this evening. Yesterday was Intense. So much going on. Not looking forward to having another CT Scan and seeing the Neurosurgeon not for surgery but for possible Guided Injections. Being in a machine while the Surgeon finds the exact place to insert the Injection is not pleasant. Please go to our prayer thread which will tell you much more. Also I have reported on meds I am waiting on for cost coverage. All not good! One thing for sure in spite of all this God is Good, He is with me and is taking me by the hand leading me on! God’s Grace is sufficient for me and His Strength is made perfect in my weakness. Though I am weak I am strong in Him! To God be the Glory!

Susan, I am so sorry they has lost 5 years of reports decisions they made on Colin’s Health Records and all the Reports that were filed there; and to tell you that Colin has to stop all Physio and the only thing wrong with Colin is Hearing Loss. Having to be reaccessed all over again and redo the Tests see Specialists is all so unnecessary. And go through an appeal only because of their carelessness. My heart goes out to you my friend. I can’t imagine how Colin feels. My prayers are with this whole situation. Archie looks so sweet, he always looks Sweet after you groom him. Thanks for sharing the picture before and after.

Linda glad you had the 2 hour nap which I am sure helped refresh you. Hope the new system you are learning about will help you with the work you do at the college.

Barb, so glad Harry3 is being moved into a Room, so nice to be out of ICU. And so encouraging he is doing so well after the shunt surgery. I have been on the Group update so hope I haven’t missed anything. My prayers continue for Harry3 Hong Hong Annabella and Mariposa and you and your husband and family.

I am off to bed, been a long 2 days with all I’ve had to process. Be back tomorrow. Love and Prayers for all! ♥️🙏😇

Another early day today with one in person and one zoom meeting before noon then lunch with a friend. There was no nap in the schedule today but I am not as tired as I was yesterday. While I was at lunch with my friend, Glenn was at lunch with two of his students from Korea that are visiting Colorado. Once he got home we had shopping, exercise, going to the library to pick up some books on beginners embroidery then finally home for dinner and a quiet evening. It has been a long week and this weekend does not look less busy. I guess it keeps us moving which is important for our joints and brains. I have been doing some brain exercise by putting together jigsaw puzzles on the internet. The one I am doing now has a lot of sky that will take a while. I have a choice as to how many pieces I want the puzzle to have. So far I am not doing the largest number of pieces. It is actually easier than a puzzle on a table because all the pieces are in the proper position that would fit the puzzle. I do not have to be concerned about whether it is upside down or right side up or horizontally correct.

Susan - Archie is looking like a movie star after his grooming. I am so glad that you can do it yourself and save money. I know that I am not supposed to speak badly of my profession but the medical staff needs to find the lost 5 years of reports and realize that hearing loss is not Colin's most pressing health problem. I don't know of a good outcome of this but maybe having to do all the tests and procedures over again will give them a current update since some of the things were done several years ago. They might show more what they need to concentrate on. Of course I hope that it does not come to that but that the appeal will be swift and positive in your favor. As I have said so many times, God is in control and he has a reason.

Judith - I read what you said on the prayer thread and I am so sorry. What helps in one way seems to be not working other ways with your nerve pain. We will not give up on being your cheerleaders and voice our prayers daily on your behalf to God. Since you have not started your second medication, do you need to have that doctor appointment that was to evaluate the new med?

Barb - what a great idea that HH got dolls for Mariposa and Harry3 to have near them. It sounds like their church and friends are helping as much as they can so HH can be with Harry3 but the girls have not gotten to see him. I hope you are getting your rest trying to work at your house and help with HH and the girls.

    Pleasant dreams to us all.

Linda, yes, we wish they had a better filing system, too. This is not the first time Colin's files have been lost. Errors in treatment inevitably occur because of it. I'm sure if you were in charge, this would never happen! Thank you for complimenting Archie's haircut. I noticed a few little tufts that need to be evened out, but I can do that. I like that you are doing puzzles. I also like the NYT Wordle game plus the other free word games they provide.

Judith, no wonder you are tired after everything that happened medically this week. Please take the rest you need. Hugs. Thank you for your concern for Colin. Like you, we will keep working on getting what he needs.

Barb, that's good news about Harry3's progress. I know he still has a long way to go with treatment but it is encouraging that he is responding. I'm so glad he is out of ICU!

Harry 3 is in rehab. 3 hours of it 5 days a week. Prayers he won’t be tied and keep his eyes open. I believe it’s his focusing that causes him problems. His double vision has left. I remembered about our eyes as we see upside down & brain changes it right for us then the color every color but the color we see. Brain is amazing and eyes well very special. In God’s time. His room is big and the staff seems nice.
Today a nurse at the hospital talked to,3 in Spanish & he answered him in Spanish. He can’t remember last time he used Spanish he is bilingual. That is amazing he also used his glass to drink water with a straw that they had for him.

Judith prayers for you and all you are going through. It’s got to be hard. Prayers. It’s ok to be frustrated to God too. Plus cry your eyes out. I have. It’s good to get it off one’s chest. Prayong.

Susan. Praying for you and Colin with his problems and not hearing. Hooe you can find the files too. Hope your services went well Sunday that is.

Linda. Hooe you had a good day. We finally had some sunshine here.

I got some more raking done and it’s getting done. I have a few more places to rake. Then maybe I will wash some windows. Time will tell.
Hipe all are having a good weekend. Lords day tomorrow for western hemisphere.
    🙏🏻

    Evening Hello Ladies,

I wrote on our Prayer Thread which I hope will encourage you in how I am coping and how God is carrying me every Step of the Way. I Love the Way God reminds us of all He has done in the Past for us His Children! I encourage you to read it as it was just posted around 7:00pm Saturday evening. I Praise God in what He is going to do and what He has already done in my life. God is Good, He is Mighty and He is Lord!

Susan, I am praying that the Files will be found. Trusting that a Miracle will transpire and you get a phone call saying files are being found. Continue to pray for healing and strength for Colin. I looked at the picture again of Archie, he is such a Sweet Boy, I wish I could give him a hug and cradle him in my arms. Not sure how he would like that but I sure would love to Hug and Cuddle both Archie and Jasper. You sure save a bundle in Grooming Costs. And you do a wonderful job. I pay out quite a lot of money on the days Miss Sunshine gets groomed as I work out the Grooming along side her Veterinary appointments. So for Grooming it Costs $80.00 + Lynn’s Lunch $22.00 + Veterinary appointment, $90.00 for wellness exam + Feline FVRCP 3 Year Vaccine $30.00 + Feline Rabies 3 year Vaccine $60.00 + Nail Clip she gets Free Total Fee: $180.00 + $9.00 GST= $189.00 for Veternary Bill + Grooming $80.00 + Lynn’s Lunch = $291.00 for last Bill. Good News Miss Sunshine gets Groomed in June and she only gets weighed and Wellness Exam = $90.00 + $80.00 + $22.00 =$192.00 in total. Yay 😆 Gives you an idea of what my Bills cost every time Miss Sunshine gets Groomed and has Veterinary Care. I also feed her special No Grain Food, Wet and Dry Food that can only be bought via Pet Store, she is a healthy girl because of it. Hehe 😉 she has a New Scratching post now. As you can see her old one was falling a part.

Linda, Glad you had your in person and zoom meetings even though they were early morning before the Noon hour. Perfect time as you were able to meet your friend for lunch. Great that Glenn met with 2 students from Korea, visiting Colorado. Always nice for you both to meet with friends and students over lunch, makes for a nice visit. Sounds like you crammed in a lot of activity today, lunch, meetings, exercise and shopping. Good for you. 😊 The puzzles you are doing sound great. I used to do puzzles but since all my treatment I am enjoying reading for my leisure activity.

Barb, I am so glad Harry3 is doing so well in his rehab. I was so impressed in you sharing how Harry3 responded back in Spanish to the Nurse who spoke to him in Spanish. He is coming around in leaps and bounds in his rehab. I realize he has a long ways to go but he is making such good progress. This must be so encouraging for you and Hong Hong and all who are visiting him especially now he is out of ICU. And just realized I read that he is drinking out of a glass with a straw. I continue to keep Harry3 Hong Hong and the Girls in much prayer. Have a Blessed Lords Day tomorrow, hoping you are able to attend your morning services tomorrow, I mention it as I remember you have missed some with being at hospital and helping with Annabella and Mariposa.

Thank you Susan, Linda and Barb for your kindness and words of encouragement in which I thank God. You all are a rich blessing in my life.

Have a Blessed Lord’s Day and enjoy your Sunday Services and time with Family. It’s time to say Good Night and God Bless. Be back tomorrow! 🤗✝️🙏😇

Glenn went to bed at 9:30 tonight so I am up by myself which is fine. I am not tired at all. Tomorrow we have church at our house so I will try to get some things done tonight so I do not have lots to do in the morning. We are having a taco/breakfast burrito bar and most of the food is coming from others this time. I am doing the scrambled eggs, hash browns, tortillas and onions for the breakfast part plus drinks. Today we got all the vegetables in the raised gardens. We were in a hurry when buying plants and today I noticed we got the wrong squash and cucumbers. They must have been mixed in with the ones we thought we were buying. We wanted zucchini and regular cucumbers but ended up with pickling cucumbers and yellow crookneck squash. We like these too but was not what we intended. We may go back and get the zucchini plants and find a place to put them. Our grape vines we planted are not all growing. I think we have about 1/2 that are viable which is pretty good for just putting the pieces of vines in the ground without rooting which is what we were told to do.

Judith - That is a lot of money to pay for a grooming and the vet appointment! How often do you get Miss Sunshine groomed? Of course you want to keep her healthy with regular shots and good nutritious food. Was "Lynn's lunch" for your daughter that took you to the veterinarian? I do appreciate your statement of faith in spite of your circumstances. It is so true that with God holding our hand, we can go through very difficult situations.

Susan - continuing to pray for Colin's records and the pain that he is having. I hope that if that happened under my watch, I would have done my best to preserve his records. With the use of digital records I would think they would be in the "cloud". My company had a virus when I was still working that shut down all of our computers and the person who did it, asked for a ransom to get our records back. We had good backup files and excellent computer specialists working on it and in a week we were back to normal. The week that we had to put all our records on paper was a long one. My job was to transmit the records to the government for payment of Medicare and Medicaid. After it all came back up, I had to recreate the records to be able to transmit. I did not want to have to do that again!

Barb - Whoo Hoo!!! Harry3 is at a rehab facility. Will the girls get to see him more often? Seeing them might give him some motivation to work harder. I am glad that he is not having double vision but having problems focusing needs to go next. Several hours of therapy each day is a lot but will help him get stronger faster. On our rehab wing, I did see a lot of people who took frequent naps to keep up their stamina to do the long days of physical, occupational, and speech therapy. I also need to wash my windows but I have not gotten to that yet. I usually spray them first with water to get the main dirt off and it has not been warm enough to go out to do it. Hopefully it will be warmer this week and I can do some of that type of Spring cleaning.
