    Happy Victoria Day, Judith

Thank you for letting us know about your upcoming appointments. Glad you enjoyed Brother Buddy's post but while he is a writer, he did not write that particular one. It was an Anonymous thing he found but it sure ia a good message, right?

Linda, you sound busy! Me too. I have a hair appointments this morning, guests arriving to stay the rest if the week, and a card class to run today.

Barb, how wonderful that the church will help Harry3 and HH in such a practical way!

I am sorry but need to keep moving. Just wanted to be sure you are all OK. X

PS Colin has a suspicious spot on his scalp that needs to be cut out on June 4th. Hopefully is benign. 🙏

W made it over the mountain with no traffic problems. We did have hail, rain, snow and sunshine in different parts of the drive. My daughter has dinner mostly ready so it is nice I can rest for a few minutes before we eat.

Barb - HH said that the neurology surgeon was happy with Harry3's progress. That is great since it was such a long surgery with lots of chances for some damage to be done during the surgery.

Judith - your month sounds very busy with all of your appointments. I hope you can get some good rest between them so you are not so tired. Some do not sound as painful as the surgeon's debriding your face. That one is so painful and it lasts for more than one day.

Susan - I am wondering about how the gathering of information for Colin's lost records is going.

So 3 church is making the half bathroom on first floor, which is not used working. They also, moved their belongings around and it’s useable. So that’s nice I was wrong no remodel, but a working bathroom
His surgeon gave him a good report Harry talked too, he's so much better in the or ing then afternoon. He mentioned that it was a big tumor, benign and will see 3 in 3 months to do a MRI to make sure all is gotten bit fairly is certain he did get it all.

Linda. He’s using a diaper. I hope they let him try that too. In God’s time. Embarrassing I’m sure wearing diapers. I had a big thunderstorm that I’m came home in today. At 3:30 it was dark like 8 PM. So I left the rehab. There was wind, thunderstorms and hail. Roads were flooding. We got 2” of rain in 1.5 hours. So that’s why the flooding. A dark house I came home to plus solar lights on. We are to, have one more storm at 9 tonight. We do need the rain. We had light rain earlier.

    Hello All,

Thank you Susan for the Victoria Day Greetings. Appreciate your prayers for all my appointments. I was on phone all Friday morning getting all those appointments together. Didn’t want any of them to be overlapping. Yes I was glad to receive the writing that Pastor Buddy shared. Thanks for letting me know it wasn’t him that wrote it as I was thinking. I am so sorry to hear about Colin having a suspicious spot on his scalp that needs removing on June 4th. I am praying that Colin will do well with the surgery and I’m praying the biopsy on the scalp will prove to be benign. Please keep me posted.

Barb, I am praying Harry 3’s insurance will be extended so he can get stronger before coming home. I read the one post that Hong Hong was sharing in how overwhelmed she was feeling about having the girls to look after and didn’t know how she would cope with helping Harry3 also. My heart goes out to you all. Yes we realize Harry3 has done so well in his recovery but realize he has a ways to go yet. Was so happy the Surgeon is believing he got all the tumour, so having said that the meeting sounds positive. Please keep us posted on when Harry3 will be discharged. I am praying for your Cardiologist appointment tomorrow, hope you have a good report as the previous test from 2 years ago is compared with tomorrows. Also praying for you with all the weather changes. Trust things are calmed down for tomorrows travel. Stay safe my friend.

Linda, so glad you had a safe trip over the mountain. Especially hearing all about the weather changes you had, wow, hail snow rain, you sure had it all. Hope you can rest some before your dinner. So nice your daughter had dinner all done so you didn’t have to do any cooking. I saw the Pineapple Coleslaw recipe you left on our Recipe thread, it looks so delicious, thanks for posting it. I also posted a recipe from Bea, not sure if you saw it. Might be a recipe you can try while visiting your daughter?

It’s late so this gal is calling it a night. Good Nite and God Bless! 🙏😴🤗😇

    Good Morning all.

Our friends arrived safely yesterday and Sharon joined right in on our card class. She suggested we all go out for dinner afterwards so our card class friends came too! It was great fun.

Today we are going to take all the necessary paperwork to NDIS, then go to Ikea for Sharon to look around. The men will stay in the cafeteria. It's too much walking for Colin but he wants to spoil our friends.

Susan. Prayers for the suspicious spot on Colin’s scalp? Can you get an appointment soon? Praying so. So you got ikea too? We have one by HH & 3 house. I like their napkins. It’s a great place when cold to get my steps at.
so, glad your friends could step, in at your card class that’s neat. Enjoy The dinner sounded like fun what did you have?

Linda. So we had wind, hail lots of rain ended up with 3”, we had thunder at 3:30 M, it was loud woke Harry and I both up. I prayed for HH and the girls. The girls slept through it. PTL.
Did your snow melt the next day? How long will your daughter or you be visiting? Enjoy.

Judith so,sorry that you still have not gotten the ointment. Praying you can get it asap. Thank you for your schedule. I wrote down the dates so I have them plus with prayers too.
I hope you can get some rest and your drs have wisdom in your healing.

My cardiologist is increasing my bp meds. He told me that most people my age, 70 are taking 2 plus bp meds a day, so he is increasing my mg from 50 mg to 100 mg which is what he takes. I have fibromyalgia dysplasia’s in my renal arteries. My cardiologist is one of the best in this field. He told me my blockage has gotten worse, but the test is about same as last time 2 years ago. Renal duplex test. He rather correct the problem with meds and not perform surgery so that is why he is increasing the mg on my meds. I’m to take my bp AM a& PM then give him the results after 2 weeks. I took another 50 mg at lunch & tonight my bp was back to what we like my normal 130’s top number & 70’s bottom. The number I was seeing 140-150 top and 80-90 bottom. I thought it was stress but my dr thinks it’s my arteries kidney or renal. So,we will see. 🙏🏻🙏🏻

I feel like I was busy today but when I think of what I got accomplished, it does not look so busy. I was doing little things and setting up for bigger sewing projects later this week. I am trying to cut out all the things I need then will sit down and do all the sewing. I am making the bowl covers that I spoke of earlier and also my daughter asked me to make towel wraps for when she washes her hair out of some old towels that had holes in them. I love to recycle so it is a challenge I will enjoy.

Judith - I did see that you put a delicious sounding recipe on the thread. I will see if I have the ingredients to make it or if I would need to go to the store. Did you get the weather that Barb and I got with the rain and storms?

Barb - PTL 3 got another week of therapy. This will be very helpful to have him more mobile when he goes home. I read the sweet message HH had on Caring bridge of their wedding vows they made eight years ago. We do not know what things may come up in our marriages but we are faithful to our spouses through thick and thin. She said it has made their marriage stronger to go through hard times and really appreciate 3. I am so glad that 3 has his catheter out. Leaving them in for a long time can cause infections so it is best to get them out quickly. I am sorry that your cardiologist said that your blockages were worse but is treating things with medications first. I agree with him. Some doctors are so quick to suggest surgeries or invasive procedures with little changes like medication can do the same things. Our daughter went home on Saturday and we came over to Denver on Monday. We saw her today for a few minutes when she came to pick up some things she left at our house in Grand Junction. She could not take everything since her truck was full of the wool she was giving her friend.

Susan - I am praying that Colin's suspicious spot on his head is benign on June 4th. I'm so glad that your friends are having fun with you. I have been to IKEA but have never eaten in the cafeteria. I did not realize that they were in Australia also.

Guess I should update how I am doing - have been reading all the messages but not up to posting.

Have been down for the count so to speak for about 2 weeks. Vey tired. Last Wednesday I got a call from the kidney doctors. Told to come the hospital yesterday for the implant to be put in and then straight dialysis. This was a shock as I thought I had a few months to get used to this.

Anyway yesterday I was at the hospital, had the port put in (took 1 hour for that operation) then they rolled me to the kidney part of the hospital. Total time at hospital was 5 hours.I am home now but ready to go back for 2nd dialysis. And will go again tomorrow. Then it works out everyother day.

I slept all yesterday afternoon but not much last night. Am tired right now but I will sleep while I have the treatment.

Not sure how I feel yet - but am praying that by the end of the week I will feel much better. Now to adjust to all the time at hospital Life is looking so differen but I am alive and God is in control.Gives me lots of time to talk to the Lord as I will be connected to the machine 4 hours 3x a week.

    Thankks for the prayers

Oh Marilyn, I know ow you wrte dreading having to have kidney dialysis. I do hope it makes you feel better very soon. Thank you for updating us even though you didn't feel up to it. I've been praying for you and am glad of your faith even more right now.

Linda, Ikea is always an adventure. Sharon was looking for storage ideas for a shed home theyvwant to build to replace their tumble down Miner's cottage. I was looking at small things and got some hand towels, photo frames and phone stands. The cafeteria was OK. We did have the Swedish meatballs. They are kinda bland. Ikea has been around here for years, we just don't go there often. Thank you for praying about the spot on Colin's head.

Thank you also, Barb, for praying for Colin. His appointment is June 4th. When we went out for dinner we went to an Indian restaurant. I had Madras curry and coconut rice. It was really good and I ate too much.

Unfortunately when we submitted Colin's paperwork yesterday it just opened more cans of worms. We have to do more research and rewrite our reports. They now want information about a 40+ year old head injury Colin had that actually started a lot of his physical problems, including his deafness. They want a discharge certificate from the hospital he was in in 1976. I'm afraid we got very discouraged but we will keep battling. They also told us there was a time limit of 21 days to get the paperwork in, and that started last week. We didn't know that before. It's a bit of a nightmare, actually. Everything from the specialists needs to be written in light of that head injury. It was severe. I don't know why they never focused on it before. It was certainly disclosed 5 years ago and they still have a record of that. I actually cried yesterday. It is so frustrating as their requirements change every time we visit.

Susan. You think you got, it done right and a while can of worms. Prayers for wisdom I all that you have to get Colin looked at. So sorry. So he had a head injury which is what they call Harry 3 a brain injury. Prayers. He needs that spot looked at. 🙏🏻🙏🏻
I know it can be frustrating but God heals and cares. Play the song Don’t stop Praying it helps. Or Through it all, He’s able and then Laura story Blessings. Prayers.

Linda. Sounds like you are busy. Hope we get pics when it’s all done. Hope you had a good day.

Marilyn I hope the kidney dialysis works for you. So,sorry it takes so much of your days. I find that every day as I go to see 3.

Judith. Praying for you and all that you are going through. God heals.

Today Harry 3 stood, steps balance and a bike to get strength. Oh squats too they are also working on his potty. Pray that he can get it times out right. That would make it at home so much easier.
I believe he is not as wobbly now, when he stands but not by himself yet. It’s coming. Small steps or baby steps.

Prayers for all. Stay safe all.
God please heal and cares and give us wisdom too.

Tomorrow is Aryn's graduation at 10am. She needs to be there an hour early and since we are riding with our daughter we need to leave our house at 8:15 which means I will be needing to get up early so I can shower and dress before we leave. I hope I am awake and alert to watch the graduation. We will go out to lunch afterwards too.

Marilyn - I am glad that the hospital did not give you long to worry about your dialysis starting. Although I am sad it happened so soon, I am hoping you will have more to energy and feel better. Having to sit for 4 hours can be a good time to pray, read, or work on handwork. I will pray for your husband and Priscilla since they will be affected by this also.

Susan - it does seem that there are a lot of roadblocks in your way. I am praying that you will be able to find the old reports for his head injury. I am so sorry! I know that our God is much more powerful than anything Satan throws at you. We are waiting on anticipation to see how God works this out.

Barb - I am enjoying hearing the progress 3 is making. A lot of progress can be made in this extra week that you have.

Susan, I am so sorry this has happened, my heart goes out to you and Colin. This should of never happened with losing all his Medical records. And now giving you a time period to get everything in to them. This is so unfair.

Father God I bring my dear Sister Susan to You and ask You to comfort her heart through this difficult situation and I pray for wisdom, strength and clarity of mind for Susan to write these reports, for a miracle that doors will be opened and Susan and Colin would find favor with all the Doctors and Specialists that the reports will be found including the discharge from hospital in the 70’s, you are a God that moves mountains and though it might look like an impossible task I know all things are possible with You and I believe this report will be sent to NDIS without charge of any money and Father God I pray NDIS would have compassion and a change of heart and reinstate Colin’s physical therapy’s in Jesus Name I pray, Amen! ♥️🙏

I also pray for the surgery for Colin on June 4th that the biopsy of the spot taken from the scalp will prove to be benign in Jesus Name I Pray, Amen!

Marilyn, I am so sorry to hear that you are on dialysis. Praying that the Lord brings Strength and Peace as you go through the treatment. Trusting God that you will soon feel better and stronger. Thank you for sharing with us as I realize this has to be so hard for you. We love you and stand with you with our love and support. ♥️🙏

Linda, yes a few days ago we had some rain and heavy wind. Happy in spite of all the changes in weather as you travelled over the mountain so happy you arrived safely. Sounds like you will have some busy days ahead of you. It will be exciting attending Aryn’s graduation ceremony tomorrow. Going out to lunch with Aryn and the family will be so nice as you celebrate all her accomplishments and her graduation.

Barb, I am glad your Cardiologist is using increased meds to manage your BP sorry the blockage has worsened but glad he is keeping an eye on everything regarding the dysplasia in your renal arteries, it’s good when Doctors use meds first rather than do surgery. I am praying and trusting God that the meds will do it’s work and keep your BP down to normal levels. I am so encouraged that Harry3 is doing remarkably well with his rehab and that there are getting ready for going home. The girls will be so happy to have Daddy home and Hong Hong will be rejoicing that she has her hubby back home. My prayers continue Barb.

it’s late now, will call it a night. Good Nite all! Prayers for all. 🙏♥️🤗

    Good morning, friends.

Judith, Barb and Linda, thank you for praying. We know God has a plan in all this. We heard back from the hospital who initially assessed Colin and they had destroyed their records. We don't know which Brisbane Hospital he was sent to (he was only 20 and was severely injured and rushed to surgery. He didn't know Brisbane then either) so we shall have to look further into where his surgical records might be. We plan to do more of that today.

I'm so happy for you today, Linda, that you have a graduation and family dinner to look forward to! It's lively to think of you all together for such a special occasion.

Barb, it's so heartening that Harry3 is making good progress. He'll keep improving, Lord willing! Yes, Colin's head I jury was very serious and he also.ost died. He has had consequences from it ever since. He had no tumour but he does have a brain injury that couldn't be fixed.

Judith, I was glad to read the prayer thread and find out you have an appointment with the Dental Surgeon. I pray they can make a real difference for you. Hugs!

Marilyn, I know this treatment for your kidneys will be a lifelong thing. I pray you will get used to the treatment and find purpose from the Lord in it. You can be a real witness for Him wherever you go in life. I'm hanging on to that thought too.

Our friends are leaving this morning. I need to go say goodbye....

Amen on all the prayers above from all.

Susan. Praying for you and did you find mynof his records. Prayong you find them. Prayers for Colin and the healing he will need. In God’s time. Waiting is hard bit God’s time isn’t like ours. Wisdom I’m praying for too. Hooe you can have a good day and try not to!worry leave in God’s hands. Easier said hen done.

Linda. Prayers Arjun’s graduation goes well. Can you take your shower the night before if it’d be to hard in the morning with leaving early? I take my showers at night. Harry odors the morning. I hope the dinner goes well too.

Judith. So I guess we all had the wind and heavy rain. MO had tornadoes from it we had lots of power outages as trees fell ok here. I heard that Boston had a Nor’easter today perpbqbly the same storm. Nor’easters are very windy. Usually it involves snow. Rain lits today.

So 3 maybe moving to a Neuro rehab maybe closer to us. This rehab specializes in stroke and brain injuries so maybe after 10-30 days he can go home. Be nice if he could walk and no,worry of him falling be so nice.
Thank you all for the prayers. He was alert when I got there in the afternoon, they started him early with his therapies so, HH and dad Harry didn’t see the usual PT. They saw his swallowing. He was more tired too.

Prayers for all and Marilyn with kidney dialysis too.
    🙏🏻

Graduation was really nice. I did get up early and I seemed to be more awake than I expected. This had to be a miracle from God because this does not usually happen. I got to bed at 2 so my hours were cut short but it all worked out OK. I am still awake and it is almost 10pm. There were not a lot of parking lots to park in but we were able to find a nice parking spot on the street close to the building. We went to "Bad Daddy's Burger Place" and had a nice lunch. There were 10 of us family members so the cost was pretty high but we said it was our contribution since we will not be here for the actual party they will have later. They have a special where you can special order a burger or salad so that is what Glenn and I did. I had a really nice salad with the ingredients I wanted which was grilled chicken on mixed greens, broccoli, chickpeas, tomatoes, cucumbers and croutons. Glenn and I shared some sweet potato fries which had more calories that the salad. We only are 1/2 of our meal so we had a second meal tonight for dinner.

Barb - I am amazed at how God is working in 3's situation. We were praying that he have more days at the rehab and it works out that not only did he get an extra week but he may be going to a specialty hospital that works on his exact surgery. I am sure they will have lots of helpful hints about his care when he really does go home and can be more independent.

Susan - With a hospital having digital records it is easier to transfer information from one facility to another in this digital age. We did not have that when Colin had his brain injury so I can see that they might have gotten rid of the paper copies after all these years. I am praying that things will fall into place as they have for Harry 3 with his rehab. Miracles still happen when we work together with God.

Judith - I am glad that you are getting all your appointments set up. It is good that you are not having to be gone a lot on the same day or consecutive days. This gives you time to recoup before the next appointment.

Marilyn - I pray that you will find a good routine in your dialysis treatments and you will get some good rest between them. I said yesterday the you might have hand work you could do for the hours that you are on the machine. I did not ask you if you do knit, crochet, embroidery, etc. Maybe taking a nap is the best for you. I know your body will tell you when you need to rest and your family is so supportive of you already.

Linda, so happy you enjoyed the graduation ceremony. Wonderful you got up early and you felt energized, a miracle for you especially with you saying it’s hard for you to be up that early. God is Good. The Dinner sounded so scrumptious for everyone. And your Dinner Salad sounded like the salads I once ordered when out. Nice you had enough food for another meal. You have been up for a long day, hope you sleep well tonight! 🤗😴

Susan, I continue to keep you in prayer that all the records that are needed will be found. I am praying for Strength for you as you do all the searching and writing up the reports. Praying that Colin is filled with peace and strength as the process continues. In spite of therapies taken away I am hoping he is able to find something that helps him. Hope you both can get some rest. 🤗😴

Barb, I am so pleased to hear that Harry3 is being moved to a rehab that specializes in Brain Suegery and Brain Injury which seems a much better fit for him. Wow, one minute we are praying for an extension and now he is being moved to a better fitting rehab for his needs. So encouraging. Hope your storms have settled down and hoping for nicer weather for you. Rest well tonight! 🤗😴

Thank you all for your support and prayers. Asking and commenting on my appointments. So thankful that the referrals are coming in now. Will keep you posted. Still waiting on the meds and CTScan. The meds are the frustrating part when Pharamacare won’t approve them. I know God will open the doors at just the right time. I had a friend come and visit today. So nice. Now it’s late and I am going to bed. Good Night all! 😴🛌

Judith, I'm so glad to hear a friend is coming over to visit. Sorry the med situation still isn't resolved. Yes, the Lord knows what is needed and what fits into His plan. Praying!

Linda, how lovely to hear about the graduation and dinner. Glad you were able to get up and go! Yes, you hit the nail on the head about the medical records. Sigh. It usually wouldn't matter that they culled the records except for a case like Colin's. I remember learning how to use a computer in the 1970s that had cards that you entered data in by poking holes in them, then letting the computer shuffle through them to analyse the data. We were definitely keeping paper records then.

Barb, oh how I hope Harry3 gets to go to that rehab centre. Praying!

We're a little frustrated. We hunted for an old Occupational Therapist of Colin's yesterday to see if she would write an updated report about Colin, but she has vanished into thin air and her agency with her. We visited health agencies near where her office used to be but couldn't find out where the office might have move to. Google still says it is located in the old place. We gave up and continued on to a hospital. Our car lost power while we were at the hospital (40 minutes from home.) We were looking into ancient records at the hospital, for Colin to send to NDIS. At least we did the paperwork asking for those records to be released while we were stuck there.

We got the roadside assistance people to send us a tow truck. The truck was a twin cab vehicle carrier so we had us and our car taken to a repairer near home. The repair place kindly took us home once we booked the car in for repairs, but they can't look at our car till next Thursday. Our car is still under warranty, thank goodness.

Not having a car to chase around in and being under pressure to get these medical reports in to NDIS in a week and a half is stressful. We had planned to see our GP on Monday then go see NDIS. We have switched to a phone appointment with the GP instead, but it would have worked better if we could see her in person as focuments need to be signed. Maybe we can scan them and email them to her.

Most of our neighbour friends are away on holidays so we can't ask for a lift. Shaun MAY be able to lend us a car but it hampers his own family activities to do that. We are eligible for a loan car from the repairer but all are booked out till June. Guess we'll ask for an extension of time to get the reports in to NDIS.

Now we can't get to church tomorrow either.

Thank you for praying for us. I know this is a temporary situation but it's the NDIS deadline that is the problem.

Susan. Many prayers you find the papers you need, get car fixed as no transportation is not good on Lord's day too. Plus make it for the DIS deadline. God knows. Praying He helps you find or locate them. Prayers the GP situation doing it on line will work out somehow. So sorry that the OT did not pan out for you. Prayers for wisdom.

Linda so,glad the graduation was good. Splitting the meal md taking some home is always good. Hope you get another good night sleep.

Judith. Prayers you did well today. Praying for wisdom for the drs too.

Harry in PT got, to sit in his own car. He also used a walker. He had his 3 hours of therapy before noon so he did not eat much lunch, as he was tired. The last 2 afternoons, when I’ve gone to see 3, his eyes were open talking more but resting too. So eyes open & closed. His voice I getting louder too. PTL.
He texted us all that he does NOT need to, have thicken water, he passed the swallowing test! He can drink Pepsi now. He’s quite excited about it all. God is healing.
So maybe next week as long as his insurance gives the approval he will go to,the other rehab that specializes in brain injury and stroke. A lady from the place visited them & she really thinks 3 be a good fit. The place may get him smtongetn I know where he is has helped a lot it was 5 weeks yesterday from his surgery. God is healing him, he is acting more like our son though he still need much rest too.
thank you all for the prayers.
Marilyn. praying for you and kidney dialysis for youn

Susan I am so sorry to hear about your car breaking down but glad roadside service picked you both up and got you home. I am sorry there are no loaner cars available for you. I hope the phone appointment works out with your GP, if they need you to sign the paper most offices have a system called software signature or e-signature, you basically Type your name to document giving permission and send it back to the office. Nothing for you to install. I have done this often for insurance papers etc. So sorry the Physio office it not around. Praying for a miracle that you can find your records through Medical Library Files. You said you were hoping you could get an extension for NDIS, praying for favor and they will have compassion and agree. Praying for God’s Will to be done and for a Miracle for you both. Hope you can get your Sunday Service online or via Live Stream! ♥️🙏

Barb, I am praying Harry will be transferred to the rehab centre that specializes in Brain Injury. I am so happy to read that Harry3 was able to get into his own car with the help of using his walker. That had to be so encouraging for him. And you made me Smile as you shared that Harry3 told you he didn’t need any of that thickened water, I sure know about that water I used it when having issues with swallowing. I can almost see Harry3’s face lighting up in glee that he could drink Pepsi, yes he would be excited! He is doing so well, eating better, passing swallowing test, catheter out, standing, speaking so well. Thank you Jesus for answered prayer. Wow, you said it’s 5 weeks since surgery, it’s amazing seeing all that Harry3 has accomplished in such a short time. Praise the Lord! God is so Good! My prayers continue Barb for Harry3, Hong Hong and the girls and the whole family. ♥️🙏

Marilyn I continue to pray for you as you have dialysis 2 or 3 days a week. May the Lord continue to strengthen you. Praying you feel much better as treatment does it’s work. ♥️🙏

Linda hope you are enjoying your family. Was so happy you could attend Aryn’s Graduation and go to Lunch with your family. Hope you enjoyed the left over dinner you brought home with you. Do you stay in Denver for a while or are you travelling back to Grand Junction now? Just can’t remember what you said and how long you were staying in Denver. Safe travels my friend! ♥️🙏

Thank you all for your prayers and your support! Love you all. ♥️🙏

Today I got some of my sewing projects done. I was going to start on the bowl covers but discovered I need new thread. The thread I had breaks easily so it must be old. It was in my MIL's sewing and I do not know how old it really is. We had someone come to give us an estimate on what it would cost to get a new furnace, water heater and air conditioning. He says he will give us a good deal since our water heater is still working but getting older he will do that for just the parts and not labor. He is probably getting a lot of money from the other things he is doing. I'm sure he will not loose money even if he does not charge for labor. We will get the estimate tomorrow to see what it will cost. Our furnace is still working too but we have been in this house (Denver) since 1992 and the furnace has never been replaced. We do not know how old it was when we bought the house. We are thinking that our swamp cooler is not working well but instead of replacing it, if we do air-conditioning it would probably sell better since not many people use swamp coolers now a days. If we agree to the estimate, they would do it next Thursday and Friday which means we will stay here a little longer than we had planned. We would leave Saturday the 31st. We are still waiting for the estimate for the cement pad for the trailer in the mountains. He has said he will send it but it has been over a week. Maybe he is really busy with bigger projects that take time. Maybe this is not a good time to do it and God is preventing him from sending the information for our good.

Barb - what good news again that Harry3 does not need to have thickened water and therefore can have Pepsi. Thickened water or juices just are not the same as the real liquid we usually drink. Getting to sit in his car and use a walker is very encouraging for hear too.

Susan - Satan is having an attack on your schedule and life. I pray that God will intervene and protect you both and will work out what needs to be done. I am so sorry that you had car problems but glad that it is still under warranty. Repairing a car that no longer has a warranty can be very expensive. I wonder if the OT that you could not find quit working or maybe joined with someone else. I pray that someone will be able to help you find these records.

Susan. Prayers for your car that it is an easy fix plus finding the papers and all needed for Colin. Yes prayers Fod leads you to so, someone to help you.

Linda I’m not sure what a swamp cooler is? I’ve never heard of them. Prayers you can get a good deal with your furnace. We replaced ours and got central a/c back in 2020. I retired that year so,I used some of my Kansas teachers retirement, called KEPERS to help we only had window a/c before that. Wisdom praying. Sounds like you had a busy day getting projects done too. Always feels good when projects get done.

Judith. Praying for you and all you are going through. Wisdom for Drs too. Hope you are sleeping ok too.

Harry fell again last night at 11 pm. He wanted to use the restroom and instinct tells hi he can do this but he can’t so pray as this is and can be frustrating. So we prayed. I shared todsy’s daily bread and having faith with him too. We prayed too.
He is doing well with no accidents I. Bathroom but frustrating as always needs a nurse to take him to bathroom in his wheelchair. She waits then she helps him back into his chair. In God’s time. Hard to wait but healing works that way.

    Marilyn prayers for you.

Linda, great you got some of your sewing projects done. Sorry you couldn’t do the bowl covers with the thread 🧵 breaking, it could be old thread 🪡 you were trying to see with; my grandma always had heaps of thread in the drawers of her sewing machine cabinet, there were times I took a spool of thread out to sew & found it to be almost brittle it was so old. It could be that your MIL had old thread you were trying to use as it does break easy. I hope you get a good price for the AC, Furnace and Water Heater. You are probably right that the house would be easier to sell with AC rather then the Swamp Cooler. These days especially the younger generation they are all about the Modern conveniences so a Swamp Cooler might be the Deal Breaker when it comes to buying the house with one. Hope you get a really good deal as it would be nice to get the work done next week. A big job out of the way. Hope you hear back soon on the Cement Pad for your Trailer. It would be nice if you could get it all done while you are in Denver now. Will keep it all in prayer.

Barb, I am still rejoicing in how well Harry3 is doing with his physiotherapy and his standing & eating. So glad he can swallow now. And it’s much better to drink regular liquids than the thickened water and other liquids. I am so sorry Harry3 fell last night when trying to get into the bathroom. It’s hard when you want to do things for yourself thinking you can then end up by realizing you can’t and need help. It must be so frustrating for Harry3. My heart goes out to him. I am hoping the new rehab will be a better fit for him and he will do well there. The Rehab is better equipped for attending to Brain Injuries.I believe once Harry3 is there and begins his therapy you all will see a marked difference and improvement overall in Harry3’s progress. My prayers continue.

Susan, I am here early so that must be the reason I don’t see you. My prayers continue for a miracle that the Records will be found and you will get the extension of the date NDIS originally said you had to have records in especially when they find out you had your car break down and had no means to get around without a vehicle. And speaking about that I’m so glad your car is under warranty so at least the repairs are cost free. Hope your Sunday is blessed and you were able to watch your service online.

Marilyn, my prayers continue for you as you have dialysis. Hope you can rest. So happy you have a supportive family but I realize you are concerned about them and would rather look after their needs. You are such a caring loving & kind lady.

Today has been so lovely with Sunny skies and warmer temps. My garden is in full bloom. Azalea Bushes are laden in Bloom as both Hanging Floral baskets. My Tomato plants are planted and are growing nicely. I was able with help of a friend but 2 large Beefsteak tomato plants a Medium, Early Girl which are great slicers and 1 Cherry plant. My garden is complete with all kinds of Spring and Summer flowering plants. Will take a picture of my yard and garden to give you a glimpse of what it looks now but with it so lush and thriving in May I can hardly believe what it will be like in July and August. Stay Tuned!

Blessings on your Lords Day, enjoy your Sunday Services! ✝️📖🙏

Hello all. I am on here later than usual as Shaun, Yolanda and Inara just left after coming by and lending us a car they are selling. I made Inara fried egg on toast then Yolanda helped me cull my garden! She is taking two garbage bags full of cuttings from my Bromeliads and Orchids. It looks much better out there. She also helped me top up some pots with fresh soil. What a sweetie. Inara gave me a bookmark she coloured in for me too. Another sweetie. Shaun and Colin did some things to Shaun's car to help it be more sales ready while we girls pottered around. It was very nice. So now we have a car and don't feel so helpless to do things.

Thank you all for your prayers and support for us.

Today started out a little cool but sunny and a great day to get some things done outside. Our grandson (13 years old) mowed the yard for the first time. We are going to be paying him to do it all Summer so he can get some spending money. While he was mowing, my granddaughter and her cousin worked on tearing down the fence and gate that needed repairs. When they were done, our SIL built a new fence and gate that works perfectly. Glenn worked on pulling weeds in the flower beds and rototilling the garden and I worked on the patio sweeping off the old leaves that had gathered and cleaned up some pots that had broken. My daughter and older granddaughter planted seeds in pots and along the fence. Just as we finished, the weather changed and it became cold, misty and foggy. There were thunderstorms in the area but did not effect us. My daughter is dog sitting for a co-worker who is camping so she is staying at her house tonight. She will come back to our house periodically so is living between the two houses until Tuesday. Our dog is a 70# muscular dog and the dog that she is sitting for is "about the size of our dog's head". She was afraid if she brought the 6# dog here, our dog would hurt him when playing without realizing it because she does not know how big she is. Tomorrow we will go to the East region (our church meets at three different places so people do not have to travel so far to go to church) to go to church with our son and his family. It is about a 40 minute drive for us. We do not see him as often as our daughters so we try to do special things with them when we are here.

Judith - We did get a great deal from the estimate and they will start demolition on Tuesday and putting the new equipment on Thursday. We had hoped to leave Thursday for Grand Junction but will need to stay a few days longer. We really need to be back by Saturday to get ready for church at our house with a lunch on Sunday. When the weather was cold, we worked on cleaning out the room were the furnace is now. It had not been cleaned for a while since it is in the basement and we do not go there very often except to wash clothes. We are almost done moving things around so they can have plenty of room to work. Your garden sounds beautiful. I would love to see some pictures when you can get them. Yes, I believe that the thread was just too old and brittle to stay together. I got some new thread at the store tonight so I can start of the bowl covers tomorrow or Monday.

Barb - I am sorry that Harry3 fell last night. I remember when I had my cancer surgery, I was unsteady on my feet for the first few days and I had to have someone walk me to the bathroom. It was a long wait on them sometimes and I really wanted to get up by myself but I had air filled compression stockings that turned on and off to massage my legs to prevent clots. If I had tried to get up without assistance, the stockings would sound an alarm and I knew that I would be lectured about not waiting. After surgery we have a higher expectation of our bodies and think we can do more than we are able to do. I have also been on the other end of that conversation, telling my patients to not get up and putting alarms on them to prevent falls. To explain a swamp cooler I would say that it only works in arid areas because it is a big fan that blows air over a big wheel that is soaked with water inside of a box . As the fan blows, it evaporates the water and puts moisture in the air. It is amazing how well it works to cool down the house but it also makes the door frames swell with the extra moisture and makes them hard to open some times.

Susan - I am so glad that your were able to borrow the car from your son. I hope it makes it easier on you and Colin as you wait for your car to get repaired. Prayers continue as you work on the paperwork to get things straightened out with Colin's therapies and that you get an extension.

Yesterday was fun. The kids arrived and Inara asked for toast and fried egg, so I got that going for her. I mashed the egg with mayo so she could eat her egg toast in fingers. She ate half of the fingers. Daddy got the rest. Yolanda accepted my offer of some Bromeliads and Orchid cuttings so we three girls got stuck into the garden. We topped up plants with potting mix and generally did a little clean up. She took two garbage bags of cuttings home! It needed to be done. The men fitted a dash mat to the car Shaun is lending us and generally pottered with the loan car and Shaun's new-to-them Subaru Forester which is a hybrid vehicle. Hybrid vehicles are new to us.

Colin just rang from the car repairer's. Our car had something simple wrong with it so it is fixed already!! So now he is coming back for me so we can drive both cars home.

What a circus we live in sometimes.

Now we need to drive Shaun's car back to his place, 40 minutes there, 40 minutes back. We'll have to do that after our phone appointment with our GP and after ringing NDIS to get an extension.

    Sorry friends, must dash.

It has rained most of the day and rain is forecast tomorrow for the Memorial Day holiday. We were going to grill out and eat on our daughter's patio but we may have to eat inside and someone have to grill in the rain. In the last two days we have had more rain than we have in a month in GJ. We had a great time at the East region of the church. They have older members and many people of color. I liked that they sang some older songs and only had a keyboard and drum to accompany us. Sometimes when there are too many instruments, the voices of the people are not heard as well. Our grandson was sick so we did not get to see him but we did go out to eat with the rest of the family. My DIL gave me a late Mother's Day gift which was a silver chair with the birthstones of my children as well as a silver cross. It is really pretty.

Susan - I am so glad that you were able to find that what was wrong with your car was an easy fix. That is not usually what we have heard when we take our cars in for repairs. Usually it is around a $500 to do the fixing or more. I have a friend who had a hybrid car and really liked it at first but he had a lot of problems with it and finally sold it. He said it was a lot more expensive to fix than a regular gas car. I remember riding in it and was amazed that it was so quiet.

Barb - It is great that Harry3 is getting more proficient in small motor movements in his fingers. HH said he sent her a text that was hard to read last week but this week he is getting much better at picking the correct keys. It is wonderful that HH's mother will be here to celebrate HH birthday. Maybe she will be here when 3 is moved to the new facility. Is it closer to their home?

Judith - I hope you are having a good weekend.

Marilyn - I assume that you do not have dialysis over the weekend. Hopefully you can get some good rest and get more energy.

Good Morning Ladies, it’s 12:24 am here in BC

My day was very busy, was able to watch my Live Stream Church service. It was communion Sunday. Two birthdays this weekend, my friend’s nephew turned 1 year, I am close to family and I am Auntie Judith to the children, and my Grandson turned 16 today. We had time together and Logan opened his gifts. A full day, they left this evening so I am here but started Sunday night and now it’s Monday morning.

Barb, Head and neck surgeon is regarding my Lymph nodes that are enlarged, I had a Ultrasound and he is bringing me in for discussing about the results. Head and Neck surgery for cancer can cause the condition called Trismus. Mine was diagnosed 2 years ago and is now permanent. The only way to repair the jaw is with surgery. I am seeing a Dental Oncology Surgeon who specializes in Trismus and takes care of the jaw and mouth opening. Many patients have feeding tubes as it’s hard to eat and keep weight on. I refused the feeding tube and trust God to maintain weight and put some ounces on. I am waiting on a CT Scan and the meds my Oncologist prescribed. So glad HH’s Mom is coming and will be able to help with the children. Extra special that HH’s Mom is hear when Hong Hong celebrates her birthday on June 3rd, that’s wonderful!

Susan, sounds like a full day out in the garden. So glad you had help from the family. I am so happy you had the loan of the car and now can get your own car back. That was great it wasn’t major repairs. Continue to pray for the extension with NDIS and for your telephone appointment with your GP. Hoping you can find all the reports and get them sent into NDIS.

Linda, so sorry about all the rain you are having in Grand Junction. Hope you get some nice weather soon. Glad you got some new thread. Be nice to get your bowl covers done. Your Sunday church sounded beautiful with all the old hymns and music. Sorry about having to grill out on patio, not much fun but at least you could have a nice dinner. So happy you got a good deal and work is starting Tuesday. Great you got the room all cleared so there is lots of room for the work can be done.

Will say good night and God Bless as it’s 1:00am Monday morning. See you all later! 😴🙏🤗
