    Good Morning all.

Judith, I do hope and pray the dental surgeon can help you. It has been a long road for you. I didn't know you had decided not to have a feeding tube. I can understand you not wanting more contraptions to look after and watch for infection, but I hope you can keep your weight up without it. 🩷 Yes, the garden day was very good. Yesterday we got our car back so we took Shaun's car back. We saw how they had planted all my small Bromeliads in their front yard. It looks pretty!

    20250526_170549.jpg

We took the dogs up with us and I snapped this of Inara and Jasper. They love each other. It's so cute!

    20250526_153355.jpg

Good news! We were in touch with Colin's GP, Physio and the NDIS and now have all but two of the reports they want. We asked for more information about what NDIS wants and have started both processes but they will take time. We got an extension of time to submit all the reports!

Linda, such a busy but lovely time for you. I hope the grill works out OK. I agree with you about instruments sometimes overwhelming the singing at church. We try to keep a balance. Yes, car repairs are expensive here too but we had our warranty that meant it didn't cost anything. It was as simple as plugging in a loose wire! No parts or much labour required. Colin wished he had seen the loose wirebback in the car park where our car went into Limp (sp?) Mode.

Barb, the hybrid car Shaun has actually recharges itself while the motor is running! They have a fuel tank too so can switch between electricity and fuel. It's quite amazing. I don't know many other details but it seems like a very efficient running car. I think it will be expensive to repair, yes. It's good to hear about Harry3s progress. Do you feel more in a routine now, with taking care of Mariposa and Annabella? I'm so glad their visits to their Daddy help motivate him. Mariposa is such a sweetie, trying to help with her Daddy's care.

Linda we are getting rain too. Maybe some tomorrow though it did not rain all day.

I got a red maple tree for Harry, hubby and I am hoping the rain will make it easier to plant it tomorrow

I am frustrated as I see my son and the healing takes so long please pray. Also that he be interested in reading or watching tv. He use to watch the baseball games and isn’t doing that.
He is doing better and has no catheter so 5at is big I need to thank the lord for baby steps pray I get better with it but it’s hard

Susan. So glad your car fixed. Prayers you find the papers and for Colin

    Judith praying for you.

Wow, this is the second time I have been timed out of here, thankfully I saved the post and it actually worked this time.

Susan, love the picture of Shaun’s garden so pretty and love the picture of Inara and Jasper, so sweet, yes just looking at the picture I can see they love each other. This is Good News that you were in touch with all Colin’s specialists and have all but two reports that NDIS are wanting. This is such good news to hear. Great Shaun’s car can use both fuel and electricity. Makes it really convenient! It’s great you got an extension of time from NDIS to get the paper work in. The two remaining reports I hope you can locate them and get them in so they can be processed quickly for Colin. My prayers continue for you both.

Barb, so nice you got a red Maple Tree for Harry and hope you can get it planted tomorrow. Red Maple are so pretty, my grandparents had a Red Maple Tree planted in their from yard. It looked so pretty. Such beautiful curb appeal, each time you drove up to the house you saw the Red Maple. A beautiful site to behold! I hear you Barb, it’s so hard to see our adult children struggling with health challenges. Harry3 is doing so well in his recovery but I understand that from a parents perspective it seems so slow and long. You want them to be restored like yesterday if you know what I mean. He is making great strides but realize there is a ways to go yet. And that is hard and yes tales a lot of patience and waiting on and trusting God for his complete healing and recovery. I am praying for you, Harry3 and the whole family. Trusting God for a speedy recovery.

Linda and Marilyn my prayers continue for you! 🙏🤗😇

The weather was cold but the rain was not as bad as it has been so our grilling worked OK. We did not eat outside but the grill person did not have to fight raindrops on the food either. The weather for tomorrow here in Westminster looks like it will be less rain and higher temperatures. In Grand Junction they are having hot and dry weather as usual. We will go back either Friday or Saturday depending on when all the repair work is done. They were saying it should take Thursday and part of Friday if all goes well.

Judith - We were celebrating three birthdays today so we have had similar days. I pray that the ultrasound results will help with your treatments. You have done great with your dietary choices to keep your weight stable. Having a tube feeding does bring it's problems also.

Barb - Praying for the insurance to be positive about the the new rehab. It sounds like it would be great option to receive the best chances for full recovery. I know that with my dad's dementia he had problems following TV shows and I wonder if that is true with 3 not watching TV or reading. I am certainly not saying 3 has dementia but his brain is still recovering from the damage of the surgery. This may clear up with time. As you say, baby steps are better than no steps but had to be patient with it. We have a red maple in our front yard but it is not really the same color that red maples were in Ohio. I have heard that the minerals in the soil can effect the color of the leaves. I hope the ground is not too muddy from the rain that would make it problematic with digging the hole to plant it.

Susan - I am rejoicing that you were given an extension and that you have most of the paperwork done. The picture of Inara and Jasper is so cute as well as all your plants that have been transplanted. Cleaning up your garden helped both you and your son's family.

Good Morning. It's a little cooler here today. We have an Antarctic blast coming up from the south. It's still a pleasant, sunny day 😎.

Barb, I can understand you wanting Harry3 to progress faster and being concerned about his lack of interest in his passtimes. I guess his brain is concentrating on repair and survival. It knows he needs more time to regain his functions. Once it is over the crisis, maybe 3's passtimes will return. I read that HH's mother is coming over again to help with Mariposaand Annabella. Hopefully that means more spare time for you, too.

Linda, glad the BBQ worked out well after all. Yes, our son and DIL's garden looks great to me, too! It is nice to see my plants helping them out. If they bought plants at the garden centre, their bill would be so high. At least we have similar taste in plants. Lol! I still have more to do for my pot plants. We found a big pot at a second hand store yesterday that I will transplant an orchid into, and we bought some small bags of potting mix to top up the pots that have had their soil settle too much. I'll find the energy to do that one day soon. Today I am going to try and get Jasper washed and clipped. Archie still looks alright from my last groomg session with him, but Jasper looks like a woolly rug as you could see in the photo.

Judith, things are slowly getting done re the reports we need for Colin. I think they would rather we moved him to Aged Care funding but that program isn't nearly as good as the NDIS. The NDIS is set up for people with disabilities, while Aged Care doesn't have so many resources. We could be fighting a big mammoth thing (the government) but we'll have a good go at trying to get what he had back. I am noticing he has greater discomfort, pain and fatigue, and nerve damage symptoms, without his Physio sessions. I hope you are feeling OK.

Today rather than having our Denver woman's zoom Bible study, we went to the leader's house for lunch and fun. She had things to make sandwiches and the rest of us brought side dishes. She had romaine lettuce for me to make a wrap rather than with bread. That does save a lot of calories and carbs. I took pickles, olives, and pickled peppers, Frito corn chips and bagel bites. The last too made up for the lost carbs from the lettuce wrap. LOL We talked a lot and played a game. It was sprinkling and thundering as we finished and it started really pouring down rain as we drove home. I had driven to a friends house and car pooled to the final destination so I gladly missed driving in the rain. When we did get to my car, the rain had stopped and the sun was shinning. I think that the rain is over and tomorrow it should be warmer and clear sky.

Susan - I agree that it is better that Colin stay with the NDIS program rather than the Aged Care. Disabilities' come with their own problems that are not the same as just getting older. Since you are noticing his greater discomfort, pain and fatigue and nerve damage symptoms, I pray that this whole thing can be resolved quickly and he can get back to what he had. Were you able to find some papers that showed he had the head injury in the first place? How cold is the "Antarctic blast coming up from the south"? When we say an Artic blast from the North, we are talking below freezing. I doubt that is what you are referring to.

Barb - HH said that Mariposa did not want to go see her Daddy at the rehab anymore because she wants to see him at home. I totally agree with that sentiment. He does need to be home with her and will if he can get more rehab. The healing of his brain and all that goes with it takes time. The relearning starts with the big muscles and then to the smaller more detailed movements like his fingers on the phone to text. It is happening in the time it needs to in layers of healing from the core to the digits of the extremities. Patience is hard to maintain when a person wants the loved one to be back to "normal". He may have a new normal but time will tell.

Judith and Marilyn - Hi to you both and may God bless you in all your activities this week.

Linda. You got that right about patience. I don’t have much of that. Guess God is teaching me it.
Harry 3 got a haircut & shave. He looks so much better. I think he feels better with it too.
Enjoy the sun we had rain today and to get more rain tomorrow night and clouds all day

So we are not sure what is happening wirg 3. I hope one of the 2 rehab places and not ho e though pharmacy was telling 3 while I was there 5at they sent in prescriptions to his CVS. I questioned it but she didn’t know.

Harry 3 filled out his first fantasy baseball so that is neat. He does that on his cellphone. James his brother told us!
3 balance was 45 today, 33 last week and 7 when he came. So that is much better almost at 50. So the rehab is doing well, which at home he won’t get. So pray. Not sure what the test entails only know the results. It’s done when I’m not there so I’ve not seen it.

Susan. It sounds like staying where you are is best. Prayers it works out. So how cold is it. Linda is right we get the Arctic from the north & usually below freezing single digits even. Then we get wind chill too. Will you have the wind chill too?
did Archie get his nails clipped and washed? If so I’m sure he smells better & feels better too.
so did you find all or some of Colin’s papers? Prayers.

Judith prayong for you. I enjoy your devotions so thank you. How are you feeling and are you getting the sleep you need? Praying.

I planted the Japanese red maple I bought yesterday in between the rain. The light rain helped it I assume. I’ll get a picture tomorrow or soon. Some of my roses have been blooming so they have been pretty. I like the hybrid tea roses. Most of the, are big roses and smell nice. Plus you can cut them as they have long stems usually.

    Prayers for all.

    Good evening Hello Everyone,

I was on here earlier working on the threads and coming back now as I didn’t see you all on here so now back I see your posts. I am gearing up for a very hot day tomorrow according to the forecast. Seems tomorrow temps are soaring then Thursday it’s cold. Strange weather patterns we are having. Today we had a mix of cloud and sunshine even though forecast said all sunny skies. This afternoon is when we got the sunny skies, temps reached 75 degrees Fahrenheit and tonight have dipped down to 50 degrees. However, tomorrow temps are a high of 84 @and a low of 54; Thursday says a high of 68 degrees and 50 for a low. As you can see we are all over the board…My garden is looking lovely, will post some pictures for you. Below is one of my hanging baskets, hanging wavy petunias. I will try and take some pictures of my Bloomed Azalea Bushes and other flowers that are in full bloom and share with you later.

    IMG_6548.jpeg

Linda, that was so nice you went to the Denver’s Ladies Bible Study leader’s house for lunch. That would make a nice day for you. Nice to share and play a game, sounds like a nice day. Sorry you had the downpour of rain but it was nice when you got to your friends house you all car pooled so you didn’t have to drive in the rain. Nice surprise the rain stopped by the time you got to your car and you had sunny skies. You said it will be warmer tomorrow. Hope it’s a nice day for you.

Barb, your garden and roses are beautiful. Like the brick that borders around your flower bed, looks so nice. Do you use cedar chips in your garden? I look forward to see the Japanese Maple…It will be so pretty. Seeing the numbers from Harry3’s balance test looks like he is doing well especially when you look at the numbers from earlier. He is getting good care, I continue to pray that the Insurance will be extended so Harry3 will come home well and strong. Happy he got his hair cut and a shave. I am sure he felt much better.

Susan, Were you able to get Jaspers washed and clipped? If you did I am sure he looks as sweet as ever. So happy things are getting done with gathering the reports you need for Colin. Why is it that NDIS would rather move him under the umbrella of Aged Care rather then keep him under the umbrella of People with disabilities? It seems Colin would benefit from the treatments under People with disabilities given the head injury and all the other chronic disabilities. I am so sorry Colin is having more discomfort, pain and fatigue. I can’t not think that the stress of NDIS loosing his Medical records and the fact everything has been taken from him is adding to all these issues with increased pain and fatigue. My prayers continue and I trust the remainder of the records will be found and submitted into NDIS. You asked how I was feeling, some days are better than others and some nights I sleep better than others. Day by day and step by step, keep trusting the Lord for His Will to be done.

it’s late so I am calling it a night. Sleep well. Be back tomorrow. Good Night All! 🙏😴🤗

Judith. I love your hanging basket! So pretty. Thank you for sharing it with us. 🙂
We will keep, praying for the pain, sleeping and healing. Oh I put down much cedar mulch. I use black mulch, on the veggies and around the trees. I’m like the way cedar, mulch smells.

Susan I hope Jasper’s nails clipped and bath if so,I’m sure he smells so, much better.
praying you can stay where you are and find the papers you need for Colin. Many prayers.

    Linda. Hioe you had a good day. We had clouds and some sun but rain is to come tonight and tomorrow morning. Maybe in the afternoon I’ll dead head my peonies. I a, tired with watching the girls thenseeing 3;;

So, the numbers I gave you are on balance and everything 3 does. 56 is the highest number you can get. So he is doing well. Today in PT he stood, walked forward and backward, steps, bike and used the walker then with the walker walked from the gym to the dinning area. Tomorrow I must remember the paper and colored pencils so,he can make a bday card for HH. Her bday is 6/3 so Tuesday.
They are saying the move has been approved it’s just his insurance and the place are trying to agree o. The amount. So the move is Thursday tomorrow or Friday. So we keep prayong. His surgery will be 6 weeks tomorrow. He’s come so far no catheter now to get study so he can walk and take care of himself I’ll planning on bringing a shaver to try and shave hi so we keep it down and not looking like it did 2 days ago.
I’ll send the pic of the Japanese maple tree

Have a good day prayers for all. 🙏🏻

Today I donated blood. I was already tired because I did not get much sleep last night and we had an early meeting that we had this morning with our administrative assistant for the school. Our GPS told us to go to the wrong address so we were late but the meeting went well. When I came back from donating, there were two big trucks parked in front of our house to start the demolition for our new furnace and the water heater. I laid down for a nap but the pounding noise they were making in the basement made that a little difficult. The water heater is in now and they will come tomorrow to check the electrical panel to make sure we have enough power to run the new appliances then they will be done hopefully by Friday morning. If we need a new panel, that will add some more cost that was not on the original estimate. We will see what happens tomorrow.

Barb - it sounds like 3 is doing well with his balance. The higher the number, the less likely he will have falls and he can be more independent. Do you know what number they want him to be at to be safe? I am glad that he is able to do fantasy baseball. It sounds like his brain is getting a good workout. I have heard about this game but have never done it myself. Your rose beds are beautiful. Having long stems are helpful in arrangements. Our roses were so pretty when I left last week but they are more bushy and on very short stems. Our peonies are doing well and smell so nice when we walk up the sidewalk to the house. They were my mother's favorite flower to put on the family graves on Memorial day. Since we no longer live in Ohio where the graves are, we can no longer carry on that tradition. My SIL puts flowers on my husband's families graves in Grand Junction but she uses artificial flowers and can keep them for every year. The cemetery where the graves are do not have any tall headstones but only metal plates in granite slabs on the ground with the names and years on them. On memorial weekend, the these granite slabs have built in flower vases that flowers can be put in. They only allow the flowers to be placed on Friday before a holiday and must be taken down after three days. I am not sure about the other holidays because she does not put flowers on at any other time.

Judith - your hanging flowers are so pretty. How can you water them since they are so high? I am hoping that your have more good days than bad ones. We have been having the variable weather that you have but so far not as hot as would be expected for this time of year. We had a short shower today as I was getting ready to leave from the donation center but the humidity is high and it feels colder than it really is. Our furnace was working a few nights ago but since it has been demolished, if we get cold tonight, we will just have to cuddle and put on more blankets.

Susan - continuing to pray about Colin's paperwork and his increased pain. I wish Judith and I could come down there and shake our fingers at the people who are making these decisions and get them to see things our way. I am laughing just thinking what a pair we would look like if we did this.

Lol Linda! I do a lot of finger shaking in my mind. Treating the staff that way in real life probably would just get us more opposition, but I sure appreciate the sentiment and your support! ❤️

The government is cutting its funding to NDIS (National Dusability Insurance Scheme). There is now a lot of competition for funding. This area needs 13,000 funded packages but the government only provided for 3,000 this year. Aged Care does not have the same resources as NDIS for people with disabilities. They focus more on in home help to keep older people living in their homes instead of living in expensive aged care places who have staff. So Colin wants to stay with NDIS to get physio, hydrotherapy and massage instead of house cleaning, meals and gardening. That's the basic difference.

We have submitted requests for the old information NDIS requires from 1976. We have to wait now for the system to find and provide it. We have set up referrals for him to be re assessed by an OT and a Neorologist. Now we have to wait for appointments. We have collected information from our Physio, GP, my own Carer Impact report, and have done all we can do to get the extra information required. We have an extension of time to submit that data. It's a case of 'how long is a piece of string' now about how long we have to wait. We have to wait for everyone else to cooperate. Meanwhile, Colin receives no help.

I did get Jasper clipped yesterday. It took me most of the day as his fur was 2 knuckles deep. I see I still need to tidy him up some more but he is looking better. He and Archieb don't have doggy smells as neither of my dogs have undercoats. But he feels happier not having a long coat.

Here is some information about the Antarctic blast. Yes, it freezes down south, but Qld also gets colder and we feel it, even though it doesn't freeze in most of Queensland. Because we are used to hotter weather, our blood is 'thin'. Any cooler weather brings out the need for heavier clothing and heating here. We live near the NSW border and our news is full of the effects of Antarctic winds on our city.

Susan, Jasper has the dearest face, he is so cute and sweet, I would love to wrap my arms around his little neck and give him warm snuggles. And Archie, he is so sweet, he has the cutest expression on his face, that gets your attention, if I were living close by I’d love to give both Archie and Jasper snuggles and let them curl up on my lap. I love their curly fur. I continue to pray that the appointments that are needed will be booked quickly and the other information will be found soon. I sure would team up with Linda and have some things to say, yes 2 Nurses lending aid on behalf of Colin. They would not forget what we would have to say about taking Colin’s treatment away and letting him suffer like he has, it troubles my spirit just thinking about what they have done. Thank you for sharing the link and information on the Antarctic Blast

Linda, so nice you were able to donate Blood. Hope you did get some rest even though the men were working in the house. I am happy the hot water heater is installed. Will be nice to have your new furnace too. Hope it doesn’t get too cold tonight for you. Our weather here has really got cold at night, today was so hot and when our temps dip to 50 degrees we will really feel it. I sure hope the electrical panel checks out as being up to code and you don’t need a new one. I am sure it isn’t something you want the expense to pay out now. I will pray my friend. Linda you asked how I watered my hanging baskets, I use a large water bottle and have long arms so I reach up and water, I also spritz the baskets with my water bottle.

Barb, Love your Japanese Maple, so pretty. I am so happy Harry3 is doing so well on his rehab. The numbers are looking good for his balance and what he does. . I am thankful he is approved to move, thanks for the update they think it will be Thursday or Friday he moves to the new rehab centre. So happy Harry3 Stood, walked forward and backward, did steps, used the bike and used his walker walking to the dining room from the gym. Woo- Hoo he is making great strides in his recovery. That’s so nice you will bring coloured pencils and paper to make a card for Hong Hong’s Birthday, she will love receiving a card from Harry3. Thank you for your kind comments on my hanging basket and for praying for me.

it’s late, going to get ready for bed and get a hot chocolate topped with whipping cream. I need to add some calories.

Here are some more photo’s of my garden taken this morning when I watered this morning before the temps got hot!

Your garden looks lovely, Judith! You have some beautiful flowers. I'm so glad you can go outside and enjoy them as well as tend them. It's so good to be outside. We sure would welcome you here if you could visit the dogs! They are very snuggly and would both love snuggles with you. 😍 you are welcome for the article about the cold weather coming up from the Antarctic. Part of the Antarctic belongs to Australia. Even though it is uninhabitable, many scientists are fascinated with their outposts there. I used to want to visit Antarctica but am not so keen on travelling there now.

Barb, I've been following Harry3s progress and am just so happy to hear how he is doing. It's been such a roller coaster of emotions for all of the family. I hope he gets moved to the new Rehab centre and keeps progressing mightily! The Lord has really answered our prayers for him.

Linda, I hope all the work that needs doi g on your place goes smoothly. It must be hard to have tradesmen working at times when you and Glenn have so many functions and visitors. Thinking of you as you keep researching the best ways forward.

I was suddenly wide awake at 5am so decided to visit here. The birds are now waking up and the sun is starting to send a sift glow of light at 6:47am. Guess I can justify making a coffee now. There isn't much planned for today that I know of.

Judith. I loved your garden pictures. Thank you for sharing the, our azaleas are done here. I have 3 and one of mine is your color too.
Has it warmed up there for you? It’s been cloudy rainy and cooler here. Tomorrow we see the sun & hooe to get our deck painted by our handyman.
hiw are you sleeping. We all are praying for you Judith.
we may get some smoke from canada, and it seems,s early for that. Do,you know where the fires are from in Canada? I guess caused by dryness and maybe lightning?

Susan. I loved Jasper’s pic. I be he feels better after the trim and cut. (Like Harry 3 ).
imdidnt know that part of the Antarctica belongs to Australia. That’s interesting. I’m sure there are some who, like to, study it and all. So a polar blast maybe like our arctic ones we get. I’m can’t pull it up as I lost what I typed.
Praying you find the papers Colin needs so, sorry it is taking so long to find them.

Linda. How is the new furnace coming on? I think you mentioned that it be Friday amor o g then it be finished. Prayers it’s not to cold. Has it been ok temperature wise. I assume that the water heater is in.
Where my in laws are buried you can only use artificial flowers real ones get taken away in days. I dead headed my peonies today my hydrangea is staring to bloom and I got tomatoes blooming.

Today I started making a card for HH. I drew butterflies and flowers. Harry 3 will write in it we hope. We know he can sign it. Time will tell.
He forgot a 51 in his therapies today and 56 is the highest you can get. So he is doing well. Amy should be on her way as she gets in tomorrow night. It’s a long flight.
We pan on going to Andover Wichita to be with our daughter, Elisabeth to see Addalyn’s gymnastic performance. It’s her first time taking it.
    Have a good weekend all.

    Prayers for all.

The furnace, water heater and air conditioner are all installed. They turned on the furnace and the air conditioner and they all worked well but smell hot as things do when they are first used. They decided that the electrical panel did need to be changed but we were expecting it. Someone else gave us a estimate on it last summer but this estimate was $7000 dollars cheaper so we are happy. Tomorrow it will be installed but we will not have electricity for 6 hours. We will put ice in the refrigerator and try not to open it or the freezer while they are not working. I talked to my doctor and asked about checking to see if the new cholesterol medication is working since he had to take me off the statin since I was having liver damage. He wants me to get it checked tomorrow so I am praying that it is working. I looked up foods that have low cholesterol amounts and it looks like I am eating most of them already. I have had red meat more often since we have been home this time because that is what my granddaughter likes to eat.

Judith - the Azalea are so pretty especially with the dark green of the Hosta and the blue bird bath contrasting with them. You have a nice sized patio that you can entertain quite a few people if you wanted to do that. Do you have lots of birds you can listen to when you are sitting outside?

Susan - You were up really early when you posted. I went to bed around midnight last night and got up at 9am so I am feeling much more rested today. I am having no ill effects from the blood donation either which is good. Your boys are so cute and cuddly. They are the size that I would have if we get another dog. I like that they are small enough that if we met another bigger dog I could pick them up if the dog was aggressive. We used to take our older dog to the dog park which she really loved until she became deaf and dogs would approach her and scare her because she did not hear them come near. I tried to keep her on a leash because she could not hear me call and also to keep her in the more unused part of the park so she did not get scared by other dogs. Getting another dog will depend on when we stop traveling so much.

Barb - we are waiting to hear the next step in 3's adventure of rehab. He has done so well so far and if the insurances can come to an agreement on the payment, I am sure that he will be able to continue to progress well. The weather was not too cold last night when we did not have the furnace available. If it had been two days ago, I would have been much colder. We are not supposed to have any more rain and warmer days are in the future - if a person can believe the weather forecasters. Many times they can get things wrong. It is just a prediction because weather can be so changeable. If the wind moves differently, we can have very different weather. That is so thoughtful that you are helping 3 make a birthday card for HH. I am glad that Amy can come to celebrate and help her also. Safe travels to your daughter's house to see the gymnastic performance.

    Good Morning All,

As you know there was an incident at my place Tuesday and Wednesday I managed to post but was struggling and Thursday was so hard that I only Posted a few Threads but did Post Devotions and Bible Reading and Commentary Thoughts. I am on here now but only posting a small amount, it’s late here.

Barb, I am so encouraged with Harry3 progress. He is doing so well in his rehab. So glad he has been approved for moving to the new Rehab that is much more suitable for his Brain Injury. I hope his insurance covers all the cost for Harry3 to be there. That’s great we have the same colour Azalea’s that I have. Hope your weather improves. We have a mix of hot sunny days and then some days we have cloudy days/ it goes from hot to cold we have had rain but usually overnight. Really crazy weather patterns these days.

Susan, my prayers continue for Colin, you were up early when you posted. Thank you for your kind comments on my garden. My yard is quite large, when I moved in I had the Grass removed on the far side of the yard where you see the stone. I know I couldn’t cut the lawn. I have had large gatherings in my yard hosting BBQ for 10 sometimes 12 people. We have placed one long table I borrowed from the church down the centre of yard sitting 10 people around the table. We also use the smaller glass table which 3 or 4 more friends sit there. Trees provide shade as the 9 foot Market Umbrella that is over the other patio table that seats 4 to 5 people. The large round patio table was used for placing a buffet of food, the large garden umbrella provided shade over food and we the people. I use my BBQ a lot and have grilled Chicken, Beef, Sausage, a Pork Side Rib and grilled European Weiners & served all kinds of sides; Hot and Cold. So my yard is used for many social gatherings.

Linda, so happy you have your new Furnace Water Heater, and AC. Sorry you had to replace your electrical panel but so pleased you got a great discount compared to the other estimate. You are saving a lot of money! You will be so comfortable with having everything new. Thank you fo your kind comments about my yard and garden. You asked about Birds. We have a lot of Wild Finches that live in both my Pine and Evergreen trees. I watch them swim flapping their wings in the bird bath and eat the nectar from the flowers. We also get Hummingbirds which are fun to watch. You asked about entertaining.and yes my yard is used for social gatherings. One of the larger holidays, prior to Cancer every Canada Day I hosted a BBQ for 8 to 10 friends sometimes 12. We used a long buffet table down centre of yard with 10 seated around. One table sat 4 more. My BBQ grilled Chicken, Beef, Sausage, a Pork Side Rib and grilled European Weiners as some wanted Hot Dogs and we served all kinds of sides; Hot and Cold. We even roasted Marshmallows on the open flame on my BBQ. Oh what fun. We went out back where there is an open grassy field and we played Bocce’s! We had so much fun. Then we came back for Canada Day Cake and ice cream! Coffee and Tea or Lemonade and or Iced Tea. And more conversations. Yes, over the years I have hosted a lot of gatherings inside my home and outside.

It’s now past 2:30am so this gal is off to bed! That’s what happens when I fall asleep early evening then I’m up to 3am but sleep till about 8:30/9am Good Nite and God Bless! 😴💤🛌♥️🙏🤗

I went to bed around 11:30pm and my eyes popped open at 6:30 this morning and I knew I wouldn't sleep anymore. I used to be a sleeper inner, but that seems to be changing for me. Maybe it's just a phase. It's raining today so I'm planning to cut card kits for classes coming up in June.

Judith, I think you enjoyed telling us those lovely memories of social gatherings! It sure sounds.like it was a fun part of your life. I know people still come and visit, though not on such a large scale. That's a good thing while you are battling cancer. I hope the incident you spoke of has settled down now and you are feeling OK emotionally. Barb is right, we all pray for you.

Linda, it sounds great that you have almost got all the installations done. It will be an inconvenience not being able to open the fridge for awhile, but it sure will be nice when it's all done. I agree with you about the size of our dogs. I like being able to scoop them up out of danger too. Though picking them both up at once when they're excited does pose its problems! Lol! They are really wonderful little companions. Yes, flying with them wouldn't work here, though I hear some airlines there let you take your diog into the cabin with you. Some motels allow dogs too. And restaurants! It might not work to have a dog with you at colleges and conferences, though. When I was working and having to travel on circuits to court houses, I often took my little Maltese with me. She would lie at my feet under desks. It wouldn't work if I had to appear in court though (they didn't allow digs in court) so I just chose my interviewing days to bring her along. Again, she was good company. And the people I had to interview lived her.

Barb, I hope you will show us the card you are making for Harry3 to give to HH! It's wonderful about his progress and that you have a number to associate with it. How lovely that you get to see another granddaughter perform her gymnastic routines in Wichita. Special times. Yes, it is taking awhile to get all of Colin's paperwork done but we received a bit more yesterday. It wasn't useful, but now we know that hospital doesn't have records older that 2010. (We needed the 1976 ones). We'll just have to present what we can to the Dept and leave it in God's hands.

Colin just made me a coffee so I guess it's breakfast time. Have good days, my friends.

So 3 is still at mid America rehab. No move maybe on Monday he walked with a harness across, the gym 3 times. Dad, Harry doesn’t think he used the harness, but 3 says he depends on the therapy coach.
I put up some of his family pictures that imhad taken down with his movie. I will get them on Sunday in case he moves Monday. This way he can see them.
amy , HH mom is on time she’s to land at CDT 8:30.PM.

You guys are night owls. I hit the bed by 10-10:30 and then I’m up by 6:15. Light will wake me up too.
    All different so, it's nice.
I’ll try to include the card. 3 practicing saying love Harry or hubby. It’s hard. Never know what all’s our brain does for us. In time. I reminded hi that it is 4 weeks he got to,rehab tomorrow but not till Tuesday is it 4 weeks of therapy coach so,he is doing well. He like to be home but knows he is weak and steps he needs to get stronger plus, walking. The there is the reading writing etc.

He wears contacts and his glasses are old. So in time he should see the eye Dr but is in Rehab. God knows. Wonder if he could put o. Contacts and HH find them?

Susan. Hope you had good day and sleep. We could change our sleep patterns as we age I’m sure. Have you found. Colin’s papers? Praying so. Keep us posted. Just read that they are working on it as you need 1976. Htts the year I graduated from high school. 51 years ago now.

Linda so gad the a/c, furnace & water heater are in. Now for the electric panel or did it get done today. I hope the 6 hours or whatever with no power go fast and no food spoiled. We will be in the mid 80’s the 2 days we are gone. I’ll water Saturday tomorrow before we leave then again on Sunday when we get back.
due to our rain we did not get the deck, painted we had a brief shower in the night so the deck, was to dump maybe in a week as our handy,an will be away and we have rain I the forecast starting Tuesday.
we also, have the Canadian smoke. So there is a haze. Some 1.5 million acres have burned up there. I still think it’s early as it’s not summer yet.

Judoth so,sorry I assume it is the pain post when you an we are praying for you. We all have our days and may be now a few more rest days you need.

Thank you for what you post. A new month starting soon. Are to believe.

Have a great weekend all stay safe & well

Today was a busy day for steps. I walked to the doctor's office to get my lipid panel done to see how my new cholesterol medication is working. It is over a mile round trip. We also planted the garden with our daughter, went to Walmart and walked some more and then I was up and down stairs putting things in the garage for the garage sale next week. In total (and the day is not over) I have 11,377 steps. The electrician was correct that we would not have electricity for 6 hours. Our food stayed nice and cool with the ice we put in the refrigerator and the freezers are both chest type so they usually keep the cold well. After we got the electricity on, they stayed another 3 hours grounding the box, labeling things, making sure all was working. After they went home, we went to watch the news and the TV, fan and lights in the family room were not working. We rigged up some extension cords so we had power to that room but called him to tell him it was not working. He lives close so he came over and discovered that he had forgotten to turn the circuit breaker back on when he was testing the circuits. I know to check this when we loose power in the house with the old box but it did not occur to me that he might have forgotten. All is well now and next time, we will check the box before calling him. Tonight we will try to get some packing done after the laundry is done and leave earlier than we usually do so I have more time to clean the GJ house and get potatoes ready before our house church shows up tomorrow.

Judith - I am glad that you are taking care of yourself emotionally by praying and not overdoing things by posting on all the threads. I pray for peace in your heart and that this young person can learn some respect for people. Your stories about the BBQ's you have had at your house sound wonderful. You certainly had a bountiful table spread for your friends and family.

Susan - I have been getting up earlier than usual this week but not because it was my wish. My getter upper still likes to stay in bed a few hours after Glenn gets up. He asked me why I do not go to bed earlier so I can get up early without tiredness on the days we need to get up early. He does not understand that even if I am really tired in the morning, by evening I have a second wind and I am not tired so going to bed early would be just laying in bed staring at the ceiling until I am tired enough to go to go to sleep. He is one that sits down and is asleep in a few minutes any time of day or night. I am sorry that you found out that there is no way to get Colin's records from the hospital that happened many years ago. As you said, we have to put it all in God's capable hands and trust Him in all things.

Barb - that is really a cute birthday card for HH that 3 will sign. I know that she will really like it. Well, it sounds like the move has been delayed a bit but I pray that when it does happen it will go smoothly. I am glad that he continues to get therapy at the hospital where he is now. Is the delay because the insurances can not come to an agreement on the prices?

I need to go check the laundry to see if it is dry so I can fold it. My granddaughter is waiting to use the washer to do her sheets and I do not want to make her wait too long although she is also a night owl like I am.

I was going to bed at 11:00pm sometimes 11:30pm after news-hour and got up at 6:00/6:30am. Lately when pain level is high I may not get to bed until Midnight! But always up early as my Kitty cry’s and makes noise until I get up. She is a rascal.

Barb, Harry3’s card is so nice, Hong Hong with love it. My prayers continue for Harry3’s move. I am sorry the Insurance can’t make a decision on the prices for the Neuro rehab Harry will be moved to but glad where he is now he continues to get rehab. All we can do is leave it in the hands of God. We know God moves the mountains and makes a way when there seems no way. I am believing things will be resolved soon and Harry3 will be moved quickly to the Neuro rehab.

Susan, so sorry that it’s taking so long to get the reports in. So disappointing that the reports you got can’t be used and the hospital didn’t keep records back to 1976. I am so sorry.my prayers continue. Really I am praying for a miracle that the reports NSDI receives will be enough and Colin will be reinstated for all his treatments & physiotherapy and any medications Colin needs now and in the future days to come!

Linda, so glad you got everything all installed and the electrical panel was working in every room and the TV Lights came on after the circuit was turned back on. You said you had a busy day going to the places with first going to your Doctors to get your lipid panel results to see how your cholesterol levels were, a Mile round trip, then all the walking at Walmart then what you did at home up and down stairs. All I can say is Wow  11,377 steps in total you got in walking to the places you had to go. This is so impressive, and you said you were not done; WOW… Well Done my friend. Please let us know how your test results were.

Going to bed early tonight. Feel better from the attack I had from the young girl, she is blocked from my devices and other accounts.

Good Night God Bless, sleep well, see you tomorrow! 🤗🙏😇 thank you all for asking after me and for praying for me, it is so appreciated!

Judith, I am glad you feel somewhat better after that attack. Hugs for you. Thank you for praying for us. Last night I spoke to a friend on an Aged Care package. She said she and her husband are getting lots more help on it than NDIS gave them. So maybe Aged Care has more of the funding these days. We will see what NDIS says about the information we have been able to gather first rather than start the whole process again with another Department, but it may be the way forward in the end.

Linda. I understand how you can just go to bed early snd sleep. I can do that either. Daytime naps ate rare for me, too,but not for Colin. After Colin kept after me to adjust to his bedtime routine, I chslke get him back. I asked him to adjust to mine! He couldn't so he stopped insisting I adjust to his after awhile. You can't become the opposite of what you have been all your life! Not easily, anyway. Glad you have your electrical work all done now. That was quite a day! I hope your test results come back with good news. Your new hip is obviously working well, with all the walking you can now do. Yay!

Barb, thank you for posting a picture of your hand made birthday card for Harry3 and the girls to give to HH. Her birthday is soon for sure. It's already June 1st here. I hope the insurance companies can come to an agreement soon for Harry3's rehabilitation. And that Amy arrives safely. There's lots happening for your family right now.

Church was cancelled today as our Pastor is sick. He's the only one with a key and security code to get into our rented hall, so no one can get into the building without him. He lives too far away for anyone with a car to get over to his place and back before Church time, so Pastor cancelled the day. I hope he will be OK. Sickness is plaguing his family right now. We'll miss getting together today but do have online sermons we can watch.

Linda. So glad the electrical work is all done and you have power and a/c, furnace, and water heater. Glad it wasn’t long without power and the ice worked so spoilage in food. So glad

Glad also that your hip working and hope your results are good news too.

Susan. Glad you found out more info, on NDIS and age care. Always good to, hear what others itho k of too prayers for wisdom in knowing what works with for you. Sorry to,bread about no church do hooe your pastor and the family get better soon. Ice you have oldsermons you can listen to too.

Judith so sorry that you have so much pain. Praying for you and for the healing. Do you wake up in the night besides restroom breaks or WC you call,it. Does the pain wake you up too? Praying for you.

I’ll include a picture of Addalyn on the balance beam. She did good it was an interesting program of 1.5 hours.

We will stop to see 3 on the way home. Amy did make it to, KCI and all of the, saw Harry 3 or their dad today. Hopefully she’s adjusted to, our time.

We had a great trip back to the desert home. After almost 2 weeks in Westminster where the humidity is high and the temperatures were in the 70's we drove into our garage and the temperature on the truck said it was 97F (36.1C). The humidity is 9% so I feel like I am drying out already. We will get used to it quickly as we usually do but it is a shock for the first hour or so. We were glad that we had a swamp cooler that could put humidity into the air to make it feel cooler. Tonight I mopped the floor, went to the store for potatoes for the potato bar tomorrow, baked communion bread and made yogurt. We have three birthday people for the month of May that we are celebrating so I will decorate, prepare the potatoes, roast broccoli, and warm up chili. There is no sleeping in for me this weekend! My lab results came back mostly good. My liver enzymes have continued to decline showing that the liver is healing itself, my glucose was 100 which is the top of normal, my cholesterol was still in normal ranges but my triglycerides were up quite a bit. I asked the doctor if I can try to get it down since my diet has been not so good with having my daughter here then going to Westminster and having a Memorial day party. I was eating a lot more carbohydrates than usual (and enjoying it LOL) but now I need to get back to where I need to. With the potato bar tomorrow, there are a lot of carbs in just the potato. Maybe I will eat mostly salad and do 1/2 of a potato.

Susan - it is nice that you were able to find someone who is using the Aged care package and like it. If NDIS does not change their mind about Colin, maybe it will not be too bad to go to the Aged care although it does mean applying to this different program. I'm sorry that your church was canceled because the pastor was sick. Is there some way that there can be two keys so if he is sick again another person could open the hall? Of course, the next question would be who would be doing the sermon? At least you could get some good fellowship with your friends.

Barb - I am so glad you were able to visit your family and see the gymnastic performance. I do not understand how they are able to stand on that narrow beam and keep their balance. It would take a lot of practice and maybe many falls to get experienced. I am glad that Amy made it safely to see HH for her birthday.

Judith - good idea to block this girl from being able to communicate with you again. Maybe it is because she is grieving the loss of her mother and taking it out on innocent people like yourself. Maybe it is a good thing I do not have a dog that wants to eat early in the morning like Miss Sunshine does wake you in the morning. Glenn gets up earlier so maybe I could convince him to feed the dog and I could sleep. There are a lot of pro's and con's about owning a pet. I put on the prayer thread about the problem that my grandson is having with his cat.

Marilyn - I pray that you are getting more comfortable with your dialysis. Are you finding that you are feeling more energy? Your body is now being cleansed of the toxins that your kidney could not take care of.

    316Judith Posts: 11,562 Member

Barb, it may sound strange but I never wake up for washroom breaks, guess my kidneys are good as if it were not for pain I would sleep thru the night which I do when my pain meds are working. I smiled when I saw you mention W/C for Water Closet as it’s a British term for Washroom/Restroom 😄 My Dad always called the Washroom the Water Closet and my Mom would SIGH 😌 I love the picture of your Granddaughter on the Balance Beam. She looks good! Thank you for sharing. So glad you could be there for the recital. Glad Amy arrived safely and was able to see Harry3 and be there for HH birthday on the 3rd. Wow June 3rd is just around the corner. Continue to pray for Harry3 and the family.

Susan, thank you for sharing about the information a friend shared about the Aged Care, I continue to pray for God’s Will to be done and that the information that NDIS is needing will come in soon. So sorry to hear that your Pastor is sick. Will keep him in prayer and his family that they all will be healed in Jesus Name.

Linda, praying your test results come back as all good. I am sure you are enjoying the new furnace, AC and Electrical Panel. So glad you are able to do all that walking especially with those steps you shared that I replied to last night.

Hope you all have a blessed Sunday! And Happy June 1st tomorrow. I posted your Team Challenges (Goals) for June. Will sign in and post the Devotional and Bible Reading in the morning.

    Good Night God Bless 😴🙏🤗

    Update on me.

I have now had 6 diaylsis treatments - working on getting to understand that this is my life now- connected to a machine 3 days a week for a total of 12 hours - dont do this and my life would be over.

It has been rough - lots of feeling sick and terrible headaches let alone the pain in the back from having be on my back for 4 hours at a time. But I believe we are turning a corner where the discomfort should get better as Fridays time connected to the machine was not so bad - just very tired after.

All of this is drawing out a lot of the toxins and unwanted water - have lost 10 pounds - am really having to watch what I now eat as it really affects how I feel - healthy food is the best medicine for sure.

This weekend I have had a bit more energy which is nice - but mornings are difficult just because my body is recovering from the treatment. But I am grateful to be alive - just difficult to realize that Mondayds Wednesdays and Fridays for the rest of my life I will be connected to the diaylsis machine - mind blowing but without it well not good

Marilyn, thank you for updating us about how dialysis is affecting you both physically and mentally. It sounds like a hard thing to adjust to, but I am also grateful that it is keeping you alive. Praying it gets less painful and exhausting over time. Hang in there.

JJudith, thank you for continuing to pray about Colin's care. It is going to take a long time to sort out, I guess. Thank you also for praying for our Pastor.

Linda, glad your labs were mostly good. It's also good that you are figuring put what foods do your body good. About the church key, I think the school that rents us the hall said no copies allowed. It's always been an issue. Having someone else preach is also an issue as our missionary friend is too sick now to stand and marshall his thoughts, and a younger man who has just started doing little devotionals for us isn't ready to do sermons yet. Fellowship would be nice. My attempts to have a plan B for when Padtor is indisposed have met with no success in the past so I just let Pastor sort it out his way.

Barb, your granddaughter looks good! I think watching them perform is a wonderful thing. Glad you got to see her, that Amy arrived safely and that Harry3 got to see so many family members yesterday.

Marilyn thank you for explaining all that you are going through prayong for you. Are you eating more fish, veggies and fruit , & chicken too??
Prayers for you and your new way of life. Monday. Praying for you. It sounds like you had a good weekend. Hope more follow. 🙏🏻

Judith. Thank you for putting the June posts up. Praying for you as you see VGH on Tuesday. HH bday. Prayers for wisdom for drs. Plus that you don’t suffer much. Oh thenWC my sister texted us so I’m though you would like that. That’s neat that you don’t wake up to,use it. So many of my friends like me do and why I watch hoe much water I drink each day. I wake up 2.or 3 times I’m,Ike it of it’s once or only 2 times.

Susan. I hope your pastor and family are on the mend. Also, glad you are hearing more about aged care and NIDS. Wisdom for what to do and Colin’s care. God cares.
    please keep us posted.

Linda so glad for some good lab results and That your liver is healing itself. God is good. You just have to watch what you eat. Prayers for you. I hope the bday party for all of May’s bdays went well.
I got a few in June bdays HH and daughters plus other daughter’s, Blake’s parents, anniversary.

Tomorrow we are to go to a playground with Blake, Evan and Jean plus baby Cody with Mariposa. So it will be fun for Mariposa. Louise her great aunt will come and play with Mariposa a bit maybe walk and see the roosters near by. Mariposa loves that.
We stopped to see 3 and got Andy frozen custard which he ate with no mess. He forgot to grab his bed when going from wheelchair to bed. He’s got to remember, that. Hard as he can do all this instinct. It will come plus he gets stronger.
Maybe he will be moved. Time will tell.God knows.

    Prayers for all.

The potato bar went well. I was thinking that potatoes were carbs so I have to limit them but I read that they are not as bad as some foods because they are digested slowly. I did do low fat toppings. Hot again today at 94F with a short shower that evaporated almost as soon as it hit the ground. Humidity is 8% today.

Marilyn - thanks for the update. It does take a while to adjust to dialysis. I am glad that Friday felt better with less discomfort. With all the medical changes I wish there was an easier way to treat kidney failure. How is your family adjusting to your schedule? Was the surgeon able to create a fistula that works?

Barb - Sounds like you are having a good time with your family. I'm praying 3 gets moved tomorrow.

Susan - It makes sense that the rental hall does not duplicate keys. There are unscrupulous people that might use the keys for wrong reasons. I know the church would use the keys properly but the rental people can not make exceptions or the rest of t ge renters would get angry.

Judith - Thanks for posting the new June threads. May went so fast in my mind. We don't plan to travel much now for the summer except for our yearly family adventure at the cabin.

Marilyn, thank you for updating us about your dialysis treatment and how it’s affecting you mentally emotionally and physically. My heart goes out to you. I wish there were other treatments to help with kidney failure. It has to be so hard to adjust to being connected to a machine 3 times a week and the pain and and discomfort along with the fatigue is so hard. But I am thankful you are still with us. My prayers are with you and trust each day will get easier for you, was so happy that Friday was less painful for you.

Linda, glad to hear the results of your blood work was mostly good, with your live enzymes declining and showing that the liver is healing itself, guess you will have to keep an eye on your glucose and triglycerides as they were up, but I understand as you were away having extra red meat while you had them at your home as that’s what they like. I am sure the glucose and triglycerides will come down in no time as you will get back to your healthy eating. Glad your Church brunch turned out and everyone enjoyed the potatoe bar.

Barb, so glad you are enjoying your time with your grandkids and your visits with Harry3. I am praying Harry3 gets moved soon. I am pleased he is doing well with the rehab he is getting in the interim while he wais to be placed at the Neuro rehab. I am sure he is getting excited as it’s only 2 more days and he can celebrate HH birthday, I am sure she will love the card Harry3 made for her.

Susan, continue to pray for the Pastor and family, sorry about the rental hall not allowing duplicate keys being made but can understand why. Too bad there isn’t anyone else who can help with the preaching when Pastor is away. Will keep it all in prayer as I keep both you and Colin in prayer.

Thank you all for thanking me for posting all the June threads. And thank you for all your prayers. Will say Good Nite and God Bless…😴🙏🤗
