Hello, friends. Overcast day here with some rain expected. I'm getting ready to turn into Alice in Wonderland as our Village has a Mad Hatter's Tea Party today to raise funds for cancer research. Starlight Singers will be singing and Guitar Gems will be playing and singing for musical trivia. I'm accompanying the Singers on flute for The Rose. Colin is coming, dressed crazily for the tea party. It should be fun, but I have to keep mobingnor Alice won't appear! I'll see if I can come back to chat later.
Judith, I will say it costs me $150 to get both of the boys groomed by someone else. That was happening every 6 weeks. I bought proper equipment and learned how to groom them at home. That cost me $1000+. I think I have paid for the equipment now by not having them groomed elsewhere over time, but cost was one of the big issues I changed it all for. I can't avoid the Vet bills though and they are steep. Miss Kitty looks adorable! Wish I could pet her too.

3 time so be short. Sorry.
Susan I hope mad matter goes well& Colin can gent some pics for us. I was thinking you performed on Monday which is now for you. Also, prayers you find the papers you are missing and Colin’s health.Judith prayers for you. I need to reread your post to keep, it fresh. I find with my age and stress I forget things.
Miss kitty vet bill seems high to me too how often does she see the vet she is awfully cute.
I would like to clean my windows but with seeing g Harry 3 every day it’s hard I will watch Mariposa & Annabella tomorrow then see Harry. Thursday is the just older youth group at our church. We have the oldest retired pitcher speaking. A former Yankee player.Linda. I hope your church with breakfast tacos went well such a nice idea. So is the virus fixed? I’m can’t remember and can’t go back or lose all this.
Harry 3 has his first day with PT a& OT. No more eating in his bed. They go in a group and eat at a table so that’s neat. He is also, in his clothes he likes that!
One of his nurses is a brain nurse. She has it for brain tumor patients as her daughter 4 year old died with a brain tumor which was not curable. She said stroke are considered brain injury patients, but the brain tumor have a special place in her heart. God is good as Harry will have her!
I put his family pictures up in his roomI watered my pants and had to move one of my hibiscus plants.
Stay well all.

Susan - I am excited to hear how the Mad Hatter's Tea Celebration went. I am glad the Colin felt well enough to go too and get dressed for it too. Yes, I do believe that you have saved enough money by doing your own dog grooming to pay for the equipment.
Barb - Good news that Harry is up and dressed in regular clothes and eating at a table. The nurse that has had a lot of experience with brain injuries is a blessing to have caring for him. I expect that we will be hearing more good reports about him.
Our taco bar was a success this morning. We had several visitors come which was good also. We had 21 people in total that came to eat and discuss scriptures in Matthew 18 about Peters confession that Jesus was the Christ, the son of the living God.
Judith and Marilyn - thinking of you also and keeping everyone in prayer.

Evening Hello Everyone,
Linda, I read your post earlier, I missed it as I left early yesterday. Thank you for the kind words you shared about what you called my “Statement of Faith” I shared on the Prayer Request Thread yesterday. Appreciate your encouraging words you shared. So glad your scrumptious Taco Bar Breakfast you served at your Home Church Service today was a success. I am sure everyone came back for seconds, I know I would of gone back! Yum yum! 😋 Matthew 18 is a great study. 📖 Linda you asked about my daughters lunch the times she helps me, she comes to pick up Sunshine from my place and takes her to Groomers and Veternary Clinic so in thanks I buy Lunch for her. 😊
Barb, I am thrilled Harry3 is now in a Rehabitation Centre. I am sure he is happy sitting at a table eating with the others and another bonus being able to wear clothes, sure better than those hospital gowns. Such a blessing his Nurse who will be caring for him has background in Brain injuries. So sorry about her daughter who passed but such a blessing she is working at rehab and can help other. As Linda said, I believe we will hear some wonderful reports in the days to come on how Harry3 is doing. My prayers continue.
Susan, I look forward to hearing all about the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party. I can almost picture you in your Alice in Wonderland Costume. So glad Colin is up to getting dressed up “crazily” as you described! 😆 What is he wearing? You asked about how often Miss Sunshine goes to the Groomers? Every 6 months and has a Welness exam annually but since last year due to all the fur she has and after it is taken off we see how tiny she is, she is just over 6 pounds and they are watching her weight so now she gets groomed and goes to the Veterinary appointment to be weighed. So yes expensive but “my baby” is worth it.
Hope you all had a Blessed Lord’s Day!
It’s late so it’s Good Nite now! Be back tomorrow! 🙏🤗😇

Hi all. It's Monday evening now and the event went well. We raised $2000+for cancer research. I thoight about all of us touched by cancer while we were taking part in the event. There will be photos later. Our resident photographer took some but Colin was happily talking to a friend so didn't take any. Our photographer will make photos available when she's ready. I wore the same Alice in Wonderland costume I posted before in February when we did Once Upon a Time.
Judith, Sunshine sounds well-loved. I understand you taking good care of her. I feel the same about my little dogs. They give us so much love themselves, they deserve good care. It's nice you only have to have her groomed every 6 months. My dogs need clipping every 4 to 6 weeks.
Linda, I'm so glad the Taco Bar went well. You work so hard and so consistently! Oh, Colin rang his care package providers today but had no success in getting an appointment to discuss what is happening. We'll keep trying. I don't know how they.lost 5 years of digital and physical files but that's what they say has happened. They seem to have lots of changes of staff so communication is poor. That's a clue, probably.
Barb, the news about Harry3 is great. The Lord is good. It's wonderful Harry3 has such a terrific nurse. I know you are tired though, so please do take care of yourself as much as possible. It isn't easy supporting a loved one in intensive care and beyond. Harry3 has a long rehabilitation road ahead of him. You need to be fit for it as does HH.

Susan. So glad mad hatter went well. Also, neat to, hear that Colin went and was dressed up. Well, you raised quite a bit of money for cancer. PTL. I am sure it will be well used.
I heard that Australia is being plagued with locusts. Are you getting them? Reminded me pf one of Pharaoh’s plagues with moses. 🙏🏻Prayers for you all
Linda. So glad your taco bar went well for you all! Hope you had a good Monday.Judith. Praying for you and JC.
Harry 3 had assessments today, with PT & OT. His speech was well. He gets dizzy with his eyes. It will, come.
He keeps his eyes open longer but still needs lots of rests. The nurse who is good with brain tu,ours only works 2 days a week. Oh well. In Gods time. They said it will be a long time,e. I hope his insurance will keep paying for it. I tell myself God has this.
I took a thermos 32 oz as water bottles, as plastic bottles are not good for you, so I left the bottle in 3’s room By mistake. So I guess we will get it tomorrow. Oh wellStay well all.

I am on here early so I hope Judith and I do not post at the same time. I got 10 hours of sleep last night and I feel so much better. I had multiple nights with not much sleep so it was nice last night to go to bed early and not have to worry about getting up early this morning. I was having strange dreams about riding a huge train to New York City. The rows were 10 across and if we needed to go to a different car for something, the whole row moved out of the current car into the car we wanted to go to. I got lost from Glenn because he was in the row behind me and his row was visiting another car. My imagination was working hard last night. 😴😆
Susan - that is so wonderful to hear the amount of money raised for cancer research. There are so many new treatments being developed in the fight to eradicate cancer. I am sorry that Colin did not get any pictures but on the other hand glad that he was so involved in talking to people that he forgot. He must be feeling better to do that. I am frustrated with the care package providers for their lack of concern in loosing Colin's records. You must be even more frustrated that Colin could not even get an appointment. Stay strong and keep at it. Maybe it will get easier when the new staff are settled in their jobs and communication improves.
Barb - It is great that Harry3 was evaluated by PT/OT/ST today. They will have a lot of good ideas for how to get his body working correctly. When a person has multiple therapies, they all work together to build the person up in different ways that all target areas of weakness. I have seen what people call "miracles" work when they are all working on multiple focuses. It is true that plastic water bottles are not good for your body. So many plastic items are adding microplastics to our bodies. I am sure your bottle will be waiting for you when you go back.
Judith - It is true that when we love our pets and they are so responsive to us, the money paid is worth it. Growing up, my dog was my best friend who knew all my secrets and would look me straight in the eye and act as if she understood every word I said.

So sorry all, I just lost my whole post, so much I wrote and lost it all. I am too tired to try and post what I said. I had even saved it two times and MFP lost that too, No worries Iwill be back later today and post what I wanted to say. Good Night all! 🙏🤗😴
Post #2 starting over again:
Linda, that was quite a night of having “Dreams” you sure had a vivid imagination as you said. You did make me Lol. Usually I have posted on here early but last night I came on late finished posting on our threads and then began here and you know the rest. So for a change we didn’t post at same time last night. So glad your Taco Bar on Sunday was a success. 21 People in attendance and later discussing the events in Matthew 18 about Peter’s confessions about Jesus being the Christ, Son of the Living God. I wish I had been there as the study sounds so good.
Susan, so happy to hear the amount the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party Celebration raised for Cancer Research! So Awesome. Your day sounds great, so nice Colin was feeling well enough to be there and have conversations with others in attendance. Great there will be pictures coming. Seeing you in your costume as Alice in Wonderland I am sure will be a great picture to see. Yes you do save a lot of money grooming Archie and Jasper. You mentioned about my grooming costs and how often she goes and about the Veternary costs. Sunshine has had low weight issues that is why she has both appointments together. After she is shaved she is 5 pounds so we are keeping a watch. She looks much heavier with all her silky long heavy Persian fur. I do hope Colin’s Health records that were lost are found, and I am so sorry you couldn’t get appointment for Colin. My prayers continue.Barb, so encouraging to see Harry3’s progress, he is doing so well. I am sure he feels great being able to sit at a table with others for his meals, wearing his own clothes, happy he was accessed by both Physio and Occupational therapists, they will be able to put a program together that is best for Harry3 and help him recover. Yes it is a long process but in the end I believe you Hong Hong and family will be pleased. His Nurse that is working with him is great, Marvellous seeing how God works putting everything together, rehab centre, Nurses and his Care Team. I know we will see more positive and glowing reports for Harry3 coming in the days to come. My prayers continue Barb.
Whew, I finally got my post on here and no timing out. Yay 😀

Linda. What a dream you had. So glad you got caught up in the sleep that you needed? Have you been to, NEW York to, dream about it?
Judith continue prayers for you. I’ve been enjoying the devotions thank you. Sorry about your post going bye bye. I hate it when it happens I always try to get it down quickly so worrying goofs of spelling.
God heals praying so.Susan. Prayers you find the papers needed for Colin plus his health. God can heals. Prayers
So, Harry 3 was on a bike to get his legs stronger in PT today. He had the pedals going up and down. He stood too.I think he enjoys being in his clothes and out of the hospital gown.
pin the afternoon, when I visit he is usually sleeping so, I don’t stay to long a hour or a bit more. . I know he needs his sleep to get better. After all that is when our cells multiply. Plus heal, in sleep. Why babies sleep so much.
HH plans on taking 🦋to the rehab tomorrow. Praying that the 2 will enjoy it. Harry 3 is looking good his color good and all. Both Harry 3 and Mariposa want to see each other. It may help him heal seeing her.
Thank you all for the prayers.
Prayers for all.1 -
I have some Mad Hatter Tea Party pictures for you all. One is of Colin and me, one is of all the entrants for the best crazy hat, one is of our Starlight Singers on stage with some of the Guitar Gems.
2 -
Linda, that was some train you dreamed up, with its strange rules! Glad you didn't actually lose your Glenn! I dreamt of my Mom last night. She would have been 94 today, had she lived.
Judith, it is so frustrating about MFP. I posted my photos immediately so they wouldn't get lost. I hope your sweet cat gets better. She's pretty light for a cat, but Petsians are often in the skinny side, I find? Glad she is being cared for by you and your Vet.
Barb, that is so good about Harry3's progress. I try to avoid plastics too. Especially water bottle plastics. I don't like the paper straws they have switched to over here either. About the locusts, I did see a giant grasshopper in my garden yesterday. They will be gone soon as the weather cools down. I hadn't heard about a plague?
Cleaning, washing, dog grooming then Uke practice for me today.

It has been cooler, sprinkling occasionally and mostly gray sky. I got my summer clothes out today but with this cooler day, I don't know if I should put my winter clothes away yet. We are in an in between season where the weather can be very unpredictable. Thursday it is supposed to get into the 80'sF (26.6C) while today it was just in the 50'sF (10C). One of the ladies in our Bible study group has a brother who is our age and is in the nursing home with cirrhosis of the liver. We took him encouraging cards and spent an hour talking to him. He said that he has quit smoking and drinking but he is sorry that it is too late to undo all the damage he did to his liver over the years. It is a sad situation when the folly of our youth catches up with us as we age.
Barb - more good news coming from you and Caring Bridge about Harry3! I am so glad that Mariposa will get to see him tomorrow. I know she misses him so much and he misses her too. Yes I went to New York City one time when I was on a choir tour over Easter break. We were there one day and it was so busy compared to my country girl experiences. I did love the rural parts of New York state that were so green and lush at the time.
Susan - thanks for the pictures. It looks like the leader of the Starlight singers had quite a large pink hairdo. Colin looks like he was enjoying himself with his professional striped jacket. The hat contest looks like it might have been a hard time for the person who was the judge. There are so many that were really cute.
Judith - I hate it when MFP looses what I post. It sounds like you lost things several times. I used to think it was my computer but since all of you have said you have had problems it must be a MFP issue. Miss Sunshine does not look as small as 5# in the picture but as you said a lot of her girth is Persian hair fluff. Both of you need to watch what you eat to keep from loosing weight.
I need to try to go to bed early tonight because I have to get up to take a friend in to have cataract surgery tomorrow very early in the morning. Good night and sweet (not crazy like mine) dreams to you all.
1 -
Susan, love all the pictures but especially of you and Colin. Great picture of the Starlight Singers. Your Leader sure stood out with her puffy Pink hair, made me 😃 smile. The Hats were all great, I am sure the Judge had a hard time picking out the Best One as they all looked “Best” to me. Colin looked good in his Hat and Striped Jacket, he did look “Professional like Linda said.
Linda, you made me smile when you wished us Good Night and Sweet Dreams not the crazy kind as you said “I Had last night” So nice you are taking a friend to the hospital for cataract surgery in the morning. Hope you get a good night sleep and “please no dreaming” so you wake rested and refreshed. It was frustrating as I had typed a lot and was right at end of the page and I was timed out. I did come back this morning and read all the posts and posted my thoughts, of course not what I had planned. I thought same as you at first thinking it was my phone or computer but after seeing that others here had lost their posts I knew it had to be MFP.
Barb, I was on CaringBridge and read the latest updates leaving a comment. I was so encouraged see all the positives and progress Harry3 is making. God is so good. I am thrilled that Mariposa is going to see her Daddy tomorrow. Can hardly wait to see the report that will be posted on how the visit was.It will be so encouraging for Harry3 see his beloved daughter. I am sure there will be heaps of hugs smiles and kisses.
JC and Marilyn I continue to hold you close to my heart in thoughts and prayers. My prayers are with everyone here. Thank you all for your prayers and your support. Tomorrow I have a few flats of starter plants being dropped off by a friend, so will plant them right away as I am at appointments on Thursday and Friday. I have a friend coming by in the morning after she drops her son at school for a visit. It will be nice to have that time as it’s been months since we last visited…
Will say Good Night and God Bless, be back tomorrow….😇🙏❤️🤗

Susan, hope you had a good day, Look forward to seeing your cards you and the class make today. How is Colin today? My prayers are with you all.
Barb, thank you for your prayers. You asked if I got my Starter plants and to answer your question I sure did, beautiful. Snapdragons, Begonia, Salvia, Petunia, Carnation plant, first year for a carnation plant and there are a few more plants but can’t remember the names, have to go and read the tags again. I also have Tomato and Bell Peppers to plant yet. Mother’s Day my kids always gift me with Hanging Baskets. Can hardly wait. I still have my Hummingbird Feeders to buy yet. This is a quick post as tomorrow is a long day at the hospital. Have a great evening and enjoy your day tomorrow. Hugs…🤗🙏

Today was an early day taking my friend to get her cataract removed. I was a bit anxious about what the traffic would be since I would be driving at 8am when the traffic was at it's highest but it was better than I had expected. Last night I was worried about it and could not get to sleep until 2am. I spent a lot of time in prayer and fighting off the worries. By the time I got to sleep I was feeling excited wondering how God was going to work things out for me. It was amazing how uneventful the morning was when I had imagined a bad time. A change in attitude and lots of faith turned my thoughts around. I only had to take her to the surgeon's office then her daughter was going to take her home. She said she would text me when it was over but I never heard from her. I assume things went well and she was resting this afternoon.
Judith - You had a lot of plants to put in your garden today! I am sure they will be beautiful when they are mature. I am glad that you had a friend come over to help you. I have never planted carnations but I know my Mom had them outside when I was growing up. I did get the morning glory seeds planted today so hopefully we will have a colorful back fence when they start climbing. The seeds were from the plants my daughter had planted last year at our Westminster house. Some of the seeds were black and some where white so I separated them to see what colors they will be. The next two days will be very busy for you with appointments both days. I will be praying for endurance for you.
Susan - I am anxious to see the cards you made today. I am glad you stopped by to say Hi even though you had a very busy day. I am praying that Colin will get an appointment to talk to the package providers.
Barb - I am so excited that the tumor was benign. Waiting for that diagnosis can be frustrating but it is a relief when it is not cancer. I hope Mariposa's visit with Harry3 will help her since she has been wanting to see him so much. HH said she was concerned that the rehab center might be a little scary for her to see Harry3 as he is. It sounds like it went well.
"Talk" to you all tomorrow!

The class yesterday was quite fun and there are two women who really make us laugh in that group. Unfortunately one of them had a sore arm so she just took the kits and watched and listened while we others crafted. 😢 She was still hilarious. We made some nice cards.
One of the women cancelled coming as she had a family emergency. We missed her.
Yes, Col looks well in that picture, but the behind the scenes story is different. Today will be quieter. I have more kits to cut and Colin is thinking of going up to see Shaun. We'll see what happens. After the Mad Hatter's Tea Party he had some rough days and nights. One night his blood sugar level crashed quite badly and it took us a few hours to get him back on track. At one stage I thought I might have to call the ambulance as he was quite confused and I had some trouble getting him to cooperate to remedy his blood sugar levels, but we managed in the end. He never remembers when things get so bad. He 'bounces back' as though nothing has happened and I am fussing for nothing. It astounds me. But I have gotten used to it. Living alone would not work for him so we're glad to have each other. He was short of breath and in pain yesterday after the girls left, so I got him to lie down while I made dinner. He didn't eat much of it so I was concerned about his sugar levels overnight again. Towards midnight he snacked, which got him through the night OK. We're a bit tired today. He still thinks he can do anything once he regains a little energy. That gets him through lots of days. Lucky I have stamina too.
Linda, glad there wasn't heavy traffic yesterday while you drove your friend to hospital. Yes we have an appointment on Tuesday to talk with the Care package Coordinator. I don't know how far we'll get but we're going to try. She says she has his records. We'll see.
Judith, I hope your big hospital day goes well. Mother's Day is this Sunday here. If it is for you, too, I hope you have a lot of joy with your kids and grandkids. Hanging baskets of flowers sound lovely. I remember planting carnations in one place I lived. It was always so heartening to see them bloom.
Barb, that is wonderful news about Harry3's tumour being benign. I'll update our prayer chain. I love that he has been able to see Mariposa. Yes, we always had Colin's records here. We keep his medical things in a big, blue folder. It was the Care package people who lost his official records and said they made a decision about taking away his funding based on very incorrect information. We'll go into the Tuesday interview well-prepared ourselves.

2nd time.
Judith. So,glad that you got the flowers planted. A few of the, I ha be too. Enjoy them. Spring is such a pretty season!
I have thought and prayed for you many times today and will again pray tomorrow. I hope all is going well.. prayong so and wisdom for Drs. I hope you sleep well too.
So nice your kids will get you some hanging baskets for Mother’s Day enjoy. I,have 2 grandkids that want to get me flowers for Mother’s Day since they will be up to see their uncle.Susan. Loved the pics thank you for sharing the, with us. So,sad to,hear about Colin after the mad hatter. So glad no, ambulance was needed it is good you have each other to, help, when one is down. Prayers for your meeting with package coordinator meeting on Tuesday.
Linda. I bet you will sleep well after taking your friend to get their cataracts today. I hope all is well doing well with her.
Yes so glad Harry 3 tumor was benign. Thank you for he prayers.Harry 3 had a good day he stood up and sat 10 times. Today plus walked a bit. I’m sure he was tired. I get to see him at PT for my first time.
i did see a bit of speech today. He needs to use his diaphragm. Like when one sings. He has a very soft voice.
The speech therapist left 3 with a Tablet so he can listen to classical music. So that is nice too.Thank you all for the prayers and continuing as a long road tin recovery he has come quite as 3 weeks today was the surgery
I bought 3 zucchini plants and a rhododendron plant. I will see with light where to,plant it as my other 2 plants never get many blossoms. I think, some of the cold made a few drop.
My Tropicana hybrid rose maybe going back to,wild. Lots of flowers and red. Tropicana should be a mixture orange plant. Hence the name. I’ll, know in time.
Stay well prayers for all.0 -
Hi Friends! Tonight I talked to my friend who had the cataract surgery yesterday. She had told me she would call me but never did. She apologized and said she thought about it several times but did not do it. In the mean time, I was wondering how she was doing but did not want to call and disturb her while she was recovering. She said it went well and her sight has improved especially her color vision. The colors are so much more bright now. She will get her second eye surgery on the 21st. She said she was not dreading it like this first one because she will know what is happening. We had TOPS club tonight and I was the biggest looser with 2# loss. I wish it would be that amount each time but usually it is much less which at least in a loss. EDIT - I originally said that I had lost my keys and I would appreciate any prayers that we find them because some keys are not replaceable and the electronic key to replace would cost $100. I am praising God that I did find them. They were in the back of the truck on the seat. We usually only use the truck for traveling over the mountain so I do not know how they got there. They are how safe and sound in my purse where I need to always put them. God cares for even the little problems in our lives.
Barb - it is wonderful that Mariposa was able to "help" her daddy do his therapy. Children can motivate us do things we may not want to do or think we can not do. I get a lot more exercise when the grandchildren are here because they like me to join them in games. Harry3 has come so far in the past 3 weeks. I wonder what will happen in the next 3 weeks?
Susan - again what beautiful cards you make! I assume there are several layers of things on each card. Do you have to cut out each design or do you use stamps? I am glad that Colin has had some good days but the bad days sound difficult. When our diabetics were get low blood sugars, they were difficult to convince to accept what we were trying to do. I am glad that you did not need to call an ambulance. It is hard when he does not remember what it was like and what you needed to do to help him. I will be praying for the appointment with the Care Package Coordinator. I am glad that they say they have found his records. It will be so much easier to work with them if they have them now.
Judith - praying for today and tomorrow for strength and some rest tonight. That is so important for your healing.

Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers.. sorry all I am heading to bed, tomorrow afternoon I am at Cancer Clinic…
Be back tomorrow…I began well in my posts but now can’t go on any further…
Good Night and God Bless…😴🙏🤗

Judith, thinking of you and praying for you. May God be with you especially tomorrow at the cancer clinic.
Linda, glad you found your keys! Yes, the images on the cards are usually stamped out then die cut or cut out by hand. The art work and sentiments are always done with stamps. Yes, Colin is like one of your past patients, though his actions are often different from his words. He will say he doesn't need food but he will take it and eat it if I offer it to him, as long as he isn't having a rapid crash. Then his jaw will lock up. I have had to try and rub honey on his gums when that happens and have to be careful of him choking. Sometimes I have to inject him with glucose. Other times the ambulance comes when his blood glucose won't come up in spite of what I do. He has had seizures in the past but not as iften now due to his pump. If he has a seizure he spends then has to spend half a day in hospital on a drip...you know what I'm saying, I am sure. Yes, he has an insulin pump inserted in his tummy and a blood glucose monitor devise that is separately inserted in his arm. He started this therapy back around 2005. When he gets a new pump (every 4 or 5 years) he has to learn about the updates and to trust it all over again. He's still learning to trust this new pump. I think he gave himself too much insulin this week. He has realised that now. I hope.
Barb, that's great news about Harry3 's progress and Mariposa's 'help'. What a sweet girl she is. I let our church know about his move from ICU to rehab. They are rejoicing too. We know he still has lots of work in rehab ahead if him. I hope you are getting more sleep yourself. And that Hong Hong is coping better. You all need lots of stamina.
I'm glad you liked our cards.
1 -
Judith. Prayers for you. Hope you have little if no pain plus able to sleep, well.
Susan. Wow praying more specifically for Colin with his aches and then diabetes. Please keep is posted. I am so, glad you both have one another to help each other. Thank you for explaining about the card too. They sure are great.
Linda. So glad you heard from your friend is doing well and colors so much brighter that you took for the cataract surgery.
Did you sleep well? I have a mammogram Monday at 7:45. So, early start then I’ll be watching Annabella. Mariposa is her dad’s cheer leader. She did great watching her dd’s PT. It’s nice to see the 2 give each other hugs and kisses.
He walked with the harness& walked quite a bit then rode a bike. His left side is still stronger than his right side. It will come. In OT they had him opening containers. Reminding him that he might be helping to give his daughter a bottle.
I’ll include 2 pictures I took of 3 in PT.Plus I finished the jacket I made for Mariposa. I knitted it. So she will get it for her bday in July or Christmas. It only took 3 months.
I will get some yarn to make a baby blanket for my neighbor. Hobby Lobby will have yarn on sale so I’ll get some on Monday.Happy Mother’s day all.
The bike.

We went to our friend's memorial service today which was really nice. I learned a lot about her past and how talented she was. She wrote two novels about her grandmother's adventures when she escaped from Germany and came to America for freedom as a teenager. Yesterday was my spiritual birthday. We did not do anything special but it was good to look over the past years and see how God has led me and taught me many things. Tomorrow we will be celebrating the 10th anniversary of our school. We are changing the name from Rocky Mountain School of Theology and Ministry which is a really long name to Mountain Theological Seminary. We wanted to have a more global name since we have so many students who are from the minority world that need to be represented. Originally we were just in the Rocky Mountains but we have a much larger and diverse student body now.
Susan - you are to be commended that you are so capable of taking care of Colin's diabetes most of the time. I had not thought of rubbing honey on his gums but that would work. I am glad that he does not have seizures anymore. Those can be quite scary and can injure the person as well as those who are trying to help them. Many years ago they taught us to put padded tongue depressors between their teeth so they did not bite their tongues. We stopped that quite a while ago because they would bit the wooden stick and break it and then it became a choking hazard. Medical science has changed so much from when I was a CNA in college to nursing as a career. I could not go back to work without a refresher course because in just the 10 years I have not worked there are so many things I do not know.
Barb - Mariposa's sweater is so cute. I am sure she will love it. Are there words on the buttons? The marking are so small I can not read it but I do have some similar that say "handmade with love". The harness and the bike that Harry3 is using in the pictures look very familiar. I used them when I had Physical Therapy after my hip replacement. It made me feel so much more safe when I knew if I lost my balance the harness would hold me up.
Judith - I hope you rest well tonight after two hard days! I know this does not happen often but when it does, it is more difficult to recover from them. Praying for you!

Good morning and Happy Mother's Day. I received some sweet things from Inara and her parents yesterday and got a picture from my daughter this morning. Here is me with Inara's gifts, two fridge magnets, stickers and a handmade card.
Daughter and one granddaughter - not sure where the other granddaughter was.
Thank you for the photos, Barb. Wow, Harry3 is really improving! And your hand knitted sweater is gorgeous.
Linda, I remember being so relieved to find out about the honey. Until I learned about that, I used to squirt small amounts of juice into his mouth. I nearly choked him once. The honey is thicker and can be absorbed by the gums plus it is pure sugar, so it is far less of a hazard. Wow about the school name change. That will take some getting used to! And I imagine nursing has changed a lot. They started out 30 years ago telling me to put a spoon in Colin's mouth but they soon cautioned me against it as metal spoons break teeth. I was reluctant to do it anyway as his seizures were very strong and his mouth would clamp shut hard. He actually crushed two vertebrae during a seizure. I'm thankful he doesn't have them anymore due to the pump stopping him from getting low blood sugars without warning. At least we usually have a chance to do something in a timely way.
Thinking of you, Judith, and hoping yesterday was not too much of an ordeal, but knowing it probably was...
Time to get ready for church.

Thank you everyone for your kindness and thoughts and prayers. The two days proved to be way too much. My lower face is quite sore and what was removed has already coming back. My Surgeon has me back next week on Thursday. Saw my Oncologist on Friday. He hasn’t been able to get approval for the new medication I have been waiting on for 6 weeks. I was given the phone number from my Pharmacy to contact Pharmacare and see if with me the patient telling them what and why I need this medication for my plan of care might help. When they hear that this medication for my will give me a better quality of life and probably help in my recovery and healing. Anyway I leave this in God’s Hands as I have a super Quality of Life in the Hands of my God. God is Good. I am still waiting to hear from the Technicians for my next CT Scan and when I get in to see the Neurosurgeon regarding the Guided Injections my Neurologist is thinking will help.
Susan, love the cards your class made, beautiful. Love the pictures of your Gifts from Indra and the picture of your Daughter and one granddaughter. Beautiful young ladies. Happy Mothers Day to you…Our Mothers Day is Sunday May 11 th. My Daughter and Family are coming for a visit, my daughter is picking up tomato plants and Bell Peppers for me. I received my Carnation plant via delivery today. My starter plants are all planted, will take pictures of my garden once the flowers take shape and my yard is cleaner. My son and family will have a Visit via Messenger as they have Baby Chicks who can’t be left alone just now. Think Stan is sending my hanging basket gift with his sister Lynn. This is usually what I get each year but you never know I could get something different. I continue to pray for Colin each day.
Barb, I so enjoyed seeing the pictures of Harry3 on his bike with the harness, the walker, he is making great strides in his rehab, it’s so encouraging seeing Mariposa right there cheering her Daddy on. So heart warming. The sweater you made for Mariposa is Beautiful. Love it! I am sure Mariposa is happy and proud to wear a sweater her Grandma made for her.
Linda, happy Spiritual Birthday you celebrated yesterday, it is awesome to reflect on the years we have walked since Jesus came into our hearts and lives. Glad you were able to attend your friend’s Memorial service and hear about the two books she wrote on her Grandmothers escape from Germany to America for freedom. I am sure they were heart warming to hear.
Thank you again for all your support and prayers. Will keep you posted. God Bless you…
Lord willing I plan to be back in morning before Live Stream Service to wish you all a Happy Mother’s Day! 💐🌸😇🙏🤗❤️

Glad you are all enjoying Mother's Day. I heard from all three kids which is what I wanted (our Sunday gets here before yours, as you know) and the church gave each mother a pretty hand towel and hot pad for the kitchen. Mine are decorated with butterflies. Very pretty.
Judith, I'm sorry to hear youvare still having such trouble getting the ointment you need. And that the treatments this week were so painful. I keep praying for your healing. The Lord knows all and I am do glad He has you safe in His hands. May your Sunday be blessed with kindness and peace as you celebrate Mother's Day with your children. I'm glad you enjoyed the cards.
Barb, our Pastor prayed for Harry3 in church yesterday and we continue to pray for him throughout the week. They were really encouraged for him when they heard of his rehabilitation progress. Mariposa is so sweet. May your Mother's Day be a very special day.
Linda, I forgot to wish you a happy spiritual birthday yesterday so do so now. 💗 And I swept by your friend's accomplishments and your sadness. I'm sorry. I hope you have a lovely, warm and comforting day today.

Linda. So neat about your spiritual bday. Wish I knew mine. I was 4 or 5 in SS Beginners department. My mom asked our pastor who told her yes one can be that young. Our son, James was 3 in memorizing his key verse in Cubbies Alana. John 3:16. I wrote down the kids spiritual bdays in their Bibles,
So you got a pot holder and hand towel. We all got a sun flower. Thats Kansas state flower.
Susan So neat that Australia is praying for him too thank you. He fell down today for 2 time. Guess he unbuckled his belt and an alarm went off. Pray. He did stand today going into the chair. So no lift used. Thank you & keep praying.
praying for you and Colin.
I celebrated mother’s day yesterday. As by myself today James called as Elisabeth who is back home now called too. We had fun yesterday and kid grandkids helped me plant my flowers. Plus water the, too.
Jean texted me and I saw 3. Not sure if he knows what day it is,,
Judith. So sorry o ointment yet and the pain today are in. So sorry what is removed is coming back 5th has to be frustrating too. Many prayers for you. Wisdoms for the doctors too. Are you able to sleep ok?Mammogram tomorrow early and I guess I’m watching Mariposa later so I’ll leave from Harry’s 3 house at 2:40 to get to the rehab. Kind of not so happy that my hours got changed but her church friends are cleaning & mowing the house. Oh well. I was not asked so,that is what bothers me and I’m getting up earlier 5:47 for the mammogram at 7:45. Oh well
Hope all had a happy Mother’s Day.

I JUST FOUND THIS UNSENT FROM YESTERDAY ON MY COMPUTER. TODAY YOU WILL BE GETTING TWO ADDITIONS TO THE THREADS.
Susan - Happy Mother's Day and the same to all of us tomorrow. I am glad that you were able to get some presents from Innara. They are so cute. Thanks also for the picture of your daughter and granddaughter. I assume that this is not Innara's mother but another daughter. My children sent me flowers from a local florist. She always puts a little plastic ladybug somewhere on the greenery. If I can get my computer to download the picture I will send it when I can.
Today we spend three hours sorting food and checking the expiration dates for the food bank. They had a food drive where people would put food out by their mailboxes and the postal workers would pick it up and take it to the food bank. It is called "Stamp It Up" day. The expiration dates (or best by dates) are different than what people normally think. The Federal Drug administration says that some canned food is still good after after the date on the can. I am used to thinking I need to immediately eat something if it is near the date but when we sorted we had a list to look at to see how long the food was good for. Some things were 18 months after the date, some one year, some up to 5 years. It looked like some people were cleaning our their cupboards and put things in that were really old. We had some that were best by 2011, 2018, 2020 etc. Those for sure we did not keep. It was fun to help provide food for those who need it.
Today we had our anniversary for the school via zoom. There were 45 people in attendance. Some could not be there because of the time difference or other things. Glenn presented the history and then two of the deans talked about what their vision is for the school and our Vice President talked about how he is trying to let people know about the school. After it was over, there was a time for question and answers but mostly people just talked about how grateful they are for the school and that our tuition for the majority world (3rd world countries) is much better than some of the other schools. We give them a really deep discount but even with that, they have to ask people to sponsor them to be able to afford it.
Tomorrow after church we are going to meet with a contractor who will go with us up to the mountain property to made an estimate on putting a cement patio up for the trailer to sit on. I hope that we are able to get into the property. If the snow is not melted, or if it has melted and is too muddy, it may be hard for him to look where we want the patio. Our daughter wants to build a house there so he is going to look up higher on the property to see how much it would cost to build a road and put a foundation for the house. I do not think that they will be building very soon but at least we would have an estimate. Glenn said he would take me out to dinner for Mother's Day after talking to the contractor.
