It's been a busy week. I've been working in my garden, helping with tree jobs, and I had my grandson for a couple days too. Today, my husband and I will be cleaning out the garage together.
ICE BREAKER QUESTION: What is your usual breakfast?
I have a few different breakfasts I rotate through. Oatmeal with fruit and almonds. Apple with peanut butter. Egg sausage and avocado(sometimes on whole wheat toast). Protein pancake with fruit on top. Yogurt with fruit and granola. Or if I'm short on time a handful of almonds. Oh…with a large black coffee every morning.

@vegan4lyfe2012 This new phase, where he thinks he can just get up, is very stressful. BUT he is currently sitting on his new chair alarm, so I dare him to try to get up without me knowing!! 😂 Hmm, I need to have a talk with ChatGPT about creating a diet plan for me. I think focusing on your protein is going to give you the much wanted results. 🙂
Good morning! Joe’s new chair alarm is going to be great! Especially since he wants to go “home” this morning and isn’t sure how he got into this house. He was also very impressed that I knew his age and said that I must be very intelligent. Yup!!! 😂 I started decluttering the closet yesterday by reorganizing Joe’s nightstand, which I moved in there with all his supplies. Today, I’m going through all my shoes and making some hard decisions on which ones I know I won’t wear. Those pink checkered Vans that Joe bought me several years ago are adorable, but dang, they kill my bunion! 😮

Hi 👋
I got hubby to go to Urgent care yesterday. He broke the radial in his right arm. They put a splint on his arm and referred him to a orthopedist to follow up with. He was none to happy with me for making him go, and it was a grueling 4 1/2 hours doing a lot of waiting, but now we know.
I have a lot to do today. When we came home yesterday, I noticed a funky smell. So, I have to find it, and I have to clean up Chippers bathroom, lol… he chose to use the neighbors facilities (yard) yesterday and I was none to happy with him. Plus, I have to take care of hubby.

I didn't lose any this week. Gained 1lb Despite having been mostly low carb. I ate some root vegetables a couple of days like sweet potato and plantain as I felt like i needed it and ate some ice cream on the weekend with family. So that might have been what messed me up for the week. Going to to try harder next week

Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend! Starting a new week and hoping to keep momentum from last week. Have 2 days left of dumpster so lots of work to do to finish up today and tomorrow.@DrewsAnna hope your husband feels better. Sounds like you got a lot of things to take care of. Please make sure to find some time for yourself too.

@DrewsAnna Yikes, I’m glad your stubborn husband listened to you and went to Urgent Care for his broken arm! I hope he heals quickly. I hate when there is a funky smell!

Good morning! I hate to admit it, but I’m beginning to like sleeping alone in my bed. The night before last, I let Maggie sleep with me, but she moves as much as Joe, so she went to her bed last night. 😀Today, I have one of those three-hour Zoom meetings with the church leadership. We will see if I can make the whole thing or if I will have to bail and be on Joe duty. I’m also working on a menu for next week so my sister can run up to Aldi for us. Have a good day!🙂

@trooworld That is great about getting up off the floor with no problem. Boy are those pups cute. I think about getting another pup then ask myself if I need another one.
@TeresaW2024 I am with you on hogging the whole bed. We have a queen right now, looking to move up to a king when we redo our room. so for now when hubby falls asleep in his chair that where he stays.😆
It was a good week. We took a couple of drives this past week to just get out of the house. Put some miles on the Camaro. Yesterday I started deep cleaning my kitchen and did a little decluttering. Can't do the hold it and if it does not bring you joy, toss it. My kitchen would be empty.🤣 Going to hopefully finish it up today. With the weather so hot I have decided to get some deep cleaning done in the house this month.

I didn't get as much done as I wanted to, but today is a brand new day.
Hubby is becoming a little more independent and a little more cranky because he can't stand being down.
I did manage to track all my food yesterday and that felt really good.

I was hoping to find time to catch up here yesterday, I just got back on Friday and it has been a whirlwind!
My brother and nephew arrived from BC last night and I am having a surprise 65th birthday party here for my brother and sister-in-law today.
my brother and nephew will be staying until Thursday, I know that today, Monday and Tuesday I will be busy with them all day, so I can hopefully catch up with everyone on Wednesday.Hope everybody has been doing well. Two weeks out in the wild was a very interesting experience, but I never want to be without modern conveniences again. I think running water with flushing toilets are the most wonderful thing that invented🤣

I am extra happy about this morning's number because we went out to eat last night. I managed to get through a trip to Alma's, an Austin Tex-Mex classic place (I got a large salad), and Amy's, our local ice cream shop (I ordered a tiny vegan ice cream and ate just enough for the taste).
I am doing well at hittting or getting close to my 100g daily protein goal. I need to keep up the focus on that and on gettign in lots of vegetables. I bought more chocolate protein powder yesterday so I am prepared for the week.
I did a big social check-in post on Saturday, but it disappeared, and I was out of time to redo it. I catch up again this morning. I apologize for being quiet, but I have been thinking of y'all!

@trooworld – Happy (Belated) Anniversary! I love purses, too. I decluttered some a few years ago and only kept my favorites, so I have about 15. The problem is that I’m so emotionally tied to using the one my friend made me with my son’s uniform, that I just can’t bring myself to use any other. Even though he’s out of the Navy now, that was still 9 years of our lives. I’m getting emotional just thinking about it! The pug café looks so fun! Nice job on getting off the floor like that. I thought Final Destination Blood Lines was fun, too. I watched Weapons last night and loved it! They show things from different people's perspective. Reminded me of 11:14. Ever watch that one? I’d love the farro salad recipe, please!
@TeresaW2024 – So glad the chair alarm arrived so quickly! It’s ok for you to keep the Vans for sentimental reasons. There’s no hard and fast decluttering rule, thankfully 😊

Well, I was hoping my haywire scale weigh in last week was a horrible fluke since it needed new batteries…but, alas, no. Only down a small amount, so I guess it was accurate. But I think I know why it’s up. After a YEAR AND A HALF, that awful TOM decided to visit me AGAIN! Like seriously?!?!? How does that even happen? I’m so freaking MAD about it!
UGH! Gonna keep on keeping on with the old WW points. Hoping I see a better loss after this week. Picking up the Garden of Life vanilla protein powder I ordered from Walmart after work today. Fingers crossed that the added protein helps keep me satiated!

DECLUTTERING: I am so glad about this project. My husband and I tackled his big closet that was filled with old tech gear. We filled the back of our SUV with gear, and I took it to the city for reuse on Friday. They were very happy, as I told them the old monitors and keyboards worked. We just did not need that many backups. LOL I also gave them an aged container of used motor oil. Then in the afternoon, I took 3 boxes of books to Half Price. I am connecting with a friend today and will have a couple of bags of books in hand for her to look over.
@vegan4lyfe2012 - Down almost 2 pounds? 🎉 What a great weigh-in! Seriously. 2 pounds down is excellent. Keep on focusing on hitting your food goals every day! I hope that Garden of Life protein powder works well for you!
@trooworld - 8 errands? Wow! I hope you felt very productive and proud of yourself! Your farro salad sounds exotic and tasty! CuppaPug sounds and looks super fun! Congratulations on the NSV (getting up with your arms like a dip)!

It is zero fun if they heal wrong, or slowly. So hurray you, again, for getting him to get looked at! (And I sympathize with his not wanting to be slowed down!)

@TeresaW2024 - Hurray for that good sleep you are enjoying! With as much as you have to do during the day, you need and deserve it. It’s so great that your sister was going shopping for you. I hope the church Zoom went well. 3 hours on Zoom for me would feel like about 2 too many. I say this as someone who had a 2-hour in-person meeting on Saturday followed by a 1-hour debrief, then a 90-minute Zoom on Sunday. I am looking forward to a meeting-free day today! Oh, and your decluttering the cute-but-uncomfy Vans was inspiring. (I haven’t decluttered my closet yet.)

@littlebabekitty - Hang in there! It’s frustrating when work doesn’t pay off. Maybe keep watching and see what might need adjusting? For me, losing weight feels like an ongoing experiment. What works for other people and what worked for past me isn't always effective now.
