Stay the course. It’s not a diet to start and stop. It is your life. Life has productive moments and not so productive moments. Enjoy them both and don’t dwell in the slow time.

@DrewsAnna - Yesterday sounds like it was really rough. Hurray for getting up and taking steps to create a new day for yourself today. Hang in there.

@micaroo4 — Thanks for sharing the letter to yourself!

@19shmoo69 — "Enjoy them both." You are a wise man! I do not always remember to enjoy the process.

As @micaroo4 said: "I keep a food log, so my first move was always to examine my food log and look for potential causes. Eyeballing portions can be an issue, so I'd go back to weighing and measuring my food to make sure my food log is accurate." For me, I would add that sometimes I need to mix up what I am eating — maybe give myself a small treat one day, then go low the next.

@TeresaW2024 — Boom! What a great weigh-in! I wonder if some of the changes like getting the hospital bed are helping decrease your stress. "We spent three hours trying to come up with a mission statement…" Oh. My. I have been in meetings like that. I salute your patience!

@trooworld - What a fun receipe. Thanks for sharing! Your day in the awesome outfirst sounds so great! A big LOL to the dangers of Instagram!

@gemwolf110 — Thanks for the reminder to keep decluttering!

@bobboyardee — Boom! Congrats on all that walking! IKEA is sure a fun place to do that! You just have to power past all the snacks at the end!

@Veta2018 — You sound like such a great grandmother! And new dress and shgoes — what fun! I hope you found something you like!

@Katmary71 — I will try the coffee mushroom mix. Thanks!

@TeresaW2024 Thank you ! The pug clock was a pre-order and it doesn't ship until the end of August but I can't wait! How often do you have 3 hour Zoom meetings? I would hate that. Especially if it wasn't very productive! Good job with the workout! I hope the nurse gave you some tips to make things easier for you/more comfortable for Joe. Good luck with the decluttering! CONGRATS on the loss!

@micaroo4 I love the idea of writing yourself a letter .

@AustinRuadhain You are welcome ! Thank you! Yes, I need to stay away from Instagram lol. How are you doing? I hope you had a good day.

@DrewsAnna Sorry about the fighting . I hope today is better. Good job with the exercise!

    @bobboyardee Good job !

DISCUSSION QUESTION: What’s one mindset shift that helped you break through a plateau or get unstuck? I tend to be a perfectionist and have black and white thinking. When it comes to tracking, recently I stopped tracking for a few weeks. I knew I had to get back to that so I told myself to just track dinner. What I found was once I tracked dinner, it wasn't that much more work to track the other meals so I did that, too. I told myself it didn't have to be perfect and instead of taking the time to make a custom recipe in my app (Cronometer), I could find something similar and use that. I found that helpful.

FOR ANYONE THAT WANTS TO TAKE MICA'S IDEA OF WRITING THEMSELVES A FUTURE LETTER HERE'S A TIP: if you have Gmail, you can schedule your email to be sent in the future! Just write your email and put in your own email address in the TO field. Then, click on the arrow by the SEND button and choose SCHEDULE SEND. You can then pick a date and time to send your message. I scheduled one to send to myself on my one-year-surgiversary date!

Hi all. Since Monday, I've had a sharp pain (off and on) in my upper rib cage on the left side. I called the nurse yesterday and they wanted to see me so I went in. The doctor said I had a slow heart rate and that the pain was likely a muscle pull in a muscle between my ribs. He said to stay out of the gym this weekend. He didn't seem too confident in the diagnosis but we are going with it. I made Instant Pot spaghetti with meat sauce for dinner. It was good and easy to make. Not the healthiest dinner I've made but good. Today is work.

    Tracked yesterday? YES!

QUESTION: What’s one mindset shift that helped you break through a plateau or get unstuck?

I'm not one to throw out old clothes unless they are too worn and frayed. Of course, many I could no longer fit into because of increased weight. I have a section in the back of the closet for them all - pants, shirts, jackets, etc. When I've plateau'd for awhile I will spend a few minutes seeing what clothes I can now fit back into (comfortably, that is)! I find that THAT keeps me inspired to "keep on, keepin' on" !!!😏

@trooworld - Thank you. My grandson is 15 months now. He got his first hair cut yesterday.

What’s one mindset shift that helped you break through a plateau or get unstuck?

Water, water, water. Sometimes I can be fooled to believe that I'm hungry when I'm actually just thirsty. I remind myself that when I don't drink enough water I get dehydrated. When I drink more water, I eat less.

    Hi 👋

I did manage to turn things around yesterday. I did a 30 min Leslie Sansone senior workout. It was easy on my knee and after dinner I walked through the house until I reached my step goal. I also tracked all of my ffood. All in all, it was a good day.

Hubby was in a better mood, so that was nice. He's upset about his arm, but I'm getting the brunt of it. I'll sure be glad when he's feeling better.

I'm hoping to have another day like yesterday.

    Y'all have a great day 😀

@DrewsAnna Great exercise! I hope the music helps your mood, huge hugs. Glad to hear today was better and your hubby is in a better mood. Great job with the Sansone video!

@FushiaKat That’s a great reading streak this year impressive!

@Veta2018 I made a lot of zucchini/squash bread and muffins at first but my weight was going up fast! I was looking for a certain kind of “loose head” cauliflower which is also Asian cauliflower and it was hard to find so I ended up ordering that and some other goodies (pok choy, winged beans, Chinese kale) today. I did a seed order at the start of the month for a Mystery Seed Pak (got 17 for $20) plus some mixed lettuce and mustard seeds. Also have carrots, broccoli, kohlrabi, Brussel Sprouts, peas, cabbage, kale, spinach. My next recipe based on the garden is going to be Balsamic Peach Basil Chicken Salad with Crispy Proscuitto https://www.halfbakedharvest.com/balsamic-peach-basil-chicken-salad-with-crispy-prosciutto/ Probably make it sometime this weekend. Hope your doctor’s appointment goes well!

    @bobboyardee Great steps!

@gemwolf110 Wonderful job with the major decluttering!

@trooworld I do that too with freezing cubes of pesto it’s so handy. Your outfit sounds awesome I love you feeling confident! Ha can’t wait to see your new clock! Love the idea of sending your future self a letter. I hope the doctor’s right and the pain eases p soon.

@TeresaW2024 Huge hug to you I’m sorry to hear how confused Joe is becoming. You’re handling all the changes with incredible grace. Good luck tackling that fridge! I feel for you with those long meetings especially with all of them being together. Hope he’s extra happy with dinner tonight.

WHAT’S ONE MINDSET SHIFT THAT HELPED YOU BREAK THROUGH A PLATEAU OR GET UNSTUCK? Not having to be perfect.

@baodell17724 Great job taking on day 3!

Hi team! Had a good day, did some stuff around the house and spent time with the kittens. I went to the farm to get the seeds for tomorrow and hung out for a bit. Today was the grand opening of a new The Nugget (kinda like Whole Foods) and if you spent $25 you get a free Olive Oil and Red Wine Vinegar so my neighbor and I went. Tomorrow I’m going to the greenhouse then the volunteer who does it with me wants to treat me to breakfast. Tomorrow night I’m going to a trivia night with neighbors which should be fun. I have a car being sent to my Carmax to drive once it’s here, been having trouble finding cars with good truck space so I’m going to check out one a little older. Have a great Thursday!

@DrewsAnna - You inspired me! I had a few minutes earlier while I was waiting for a Zoom call to start, and I fit in a mile with Leslie Sansone!

@TeresaW2024 — I thought of you, too. My Zoom call was better than yours, as (A) all four of us were dialing in, and (B) were were all motivated to keep things brief. Anyway, I thought of your epic call and of other long calls like that I have had to do, and was suitably grateful!

Here's an article on motivating yourself that I found myself reading today: https://www.scotthyoung.com/blog/2025/08/10/how-to-motivate-yourself-to-do-hard-things/

I find myself using some of these as I work on making progress on weight and health, and think I could do more.

@Veta2018 Oh how exciting ! That's a big deal, how did he do?

@TeresaW2024 Oh gosh , more meetings! Ugh, I'm sorry. I hope you do bail on those. Yeah, the pain is just occasionally so I'm not too worried. Oh that has to be heartbreaking. I'm glad you guys can get some happiness out of the gift the ladies gave you. Hugs.

@DrewsAnna Congrats on the loss , the exercise, and tracking! WOOT WOOT!

@Katmary71 It is ! Thank you, I knocked it out of the park that day lol. I am pretty sure the doctor is right BUT...now that I am getting older and death is chasing me, I feel like every little thing is a major deal. Right now, I'm thinking that the pain is related to a blood clot lol. I'm glad you had a good day. Enjoy breakfast today, that's really nice of the volunteer. And have fun at trivia night! I hope the car works out.

    @davors19 Congrats !

@gemwolf110 Good morning and have a great day !

Hi all. The muscle pain isn't too bad, and it's not constant, just occasional. This week had really dragged by. I'm looking forward to tomorrow and the rest of the weekend. I had leftovers last night. I do need to cook something tonight. Been tracking for a week as of tomorrow. Yay!

    Tracked yesterday? YES!

@Katmary71 I just Googled the Nugget Market and it looks fancy! We have a store called Fresh Market that is our fancy grocery store. Joe and I used to love to go there whenever we needed something extra special. They do their own Christmas blend coffee that is to die for!! 😀 I hope the car test drive goes well.

@AustinRuadhain It’s always good when the Zoom calls go well and everyone is motivated to hurry up and get done. 😀That is a great article and I’ve bookmarked it for future reading and when I’m actually ready to get motivated.

@trooworld That is good that the pain isn’t too bad. Do you have any fun weekend plans? 🙂

Good morning! Joe enjoyed his rib dinner but he couldn’t hold on to the rib with just his one working hand so I had to cut the meat off, which is not easy on a pork rib. I had ordered the family meal and we have so much leftover that we will eat it again tonight. Today, our hospice nurse is coming over and my bestie is stopping by for coffee. Have a good day! 🙂

    Hi 👋

@AustinRuadhain Leslie Sansone has been my go to for years. I love her energy.

Yesterday, I walked a little bit, only a mile, but it was all up hill. Whew..… I also found a Zumba mini class (20 min) that I tried to do, but I only got about 10 min in (I think) before I just gave up. Apparently, I became popular because all of a sudden and I got like 3 phone calls in a row. Atleast, I tried I guess. I found the Zumba classes on Samsung health app, and they are free... I don't have to pay for "premium" services.

I tracked all of my food yesterday, all though my choices were not good. I had pizza for dinner and later I had some ice cream.

I have a dr appt today and it's going to be in the low 70's and tomorrow we are supposed to get a lot of rain. Thankfully, we need it so bad. We have a wildfire burning up a very popular natural recreation/hiking spot. A very beautiful place, my kids love going to this place to go swimming, camping and hiking. It's just sad.

    Y'all have a great day 😀
