    @vegan4lyfe2012 so sorry about your struggles with your mental health . You will be in my thoughts♥️. I have struggled as well, I believe that you are ADHD as well. I was told that we use food to get that dopamine boost that our brain craves.

    I would definitely just return the protein powder, one less thing for you to deal with.

    @Cornanda welcome back and congrats on the loss !  I'm glad your dad's surgery went well and that he recovered so quickly!  I hope it was a slow leak in the air mattress. I know that has got to be so hard to deal with your mom as she is now, big big hug♥️. Sounds like life is so challenging now. I'm sorry, you will be in my thoughts.

    @micaroo4 . The 3 ways I will finish strong

    1. Track every day
    2.   Drink water
    3. Check in here each day, even if just a quick report on the day (I'm not sure if I will have wifi when we are camping. If not I will journal it and post when I get back)

    @trooworld I have to say I LOVE leftovers !  I think I would especially like to raid your fridge, the meals that you and your husband make always sound so gourmet!!  It is so annoying when Amazon does that. It used to be FedEx that did it here, I am also in a gated community so there is no way they couldn't get in. The card games sound fun A day of romance sounds so lovely, I think the pug cafe would be fun!  Can you tell it's been a long time since I have been in a relationship🤣.

    @TeresaW2024 your idea of unprocessed foods sounds REALLY good !!  Sorry I am behind on news, glad you were able to get a nurse for Joe!  Does she come by every day, or is she supposed to?  Sounds like things are really challenging with Joe right now

    @Katmary71 . I will keep my fingers crossed for your car!!

    @Veta2018 great picture !!

    Well it was a crazy day yesterday but fun. I volunteered in the morning. Just before I left home I checked the weather and the forecast was cool, overcast and windy until about 1 pm, so I wore my jeans, t-shirt and jacket. My 10 am it was already in the low 70s and the sun was shining. I was roasting in my jeans and got a sunburn because I thought I was going to be wearing my jacket all morning so didn't bother with sunscreen. I was volunteering for a position called "leash runner ", I thought I had the easiest job there. Basically you just take the leash from the team as they enter the ring, then you hand it to them on the other side when they finish. I didn't take in to account (because these dogs are at the national level) how fast these dogs and how much bigger the ring is. I literally did my "old lady run" from one side of the arena to the other from 8:30 am - 12:15, putting on over 13,000 steps in 3 hours!  It was in the low 80s by noon I was gross, wet and exhausted🤣!  I then drove home, 45 minutes away, rinsed off put on some shorts and headed back. We were there until 6:30 , it was fun to watch everyone and great exposure for Ty.   I must admit, I hardly drank any water yesterday. There were only outhouses and they were disgusting🤢.   This morning I woke up to a massive headache, I cancelled out of the gym. I took my grandson to swimming lessons this morning, then we took the dogs for a run in the field and now the only thing I plan on getting done for the rest of the day is some laundry. Between me being away, all the company and activities over the last few days, my house looks like a bomb went off in here. I would at least like to get my laundry done, I will deal with my messy house tomorrow.  Please forgive any of the typos, my daughter just picked up my grandson so I am going to go get a few groceries, I am so tired of processed food!t

    @laurelfit57 Yes, you are remembering correctly that I am ADHD, too. I plan on returning the protein powder after my conference is over.

    @bobboyardee It's just after 9:20 p.m. here in Michigan and I'm not feeling very hungry. I need to do my nails, which will take me at least 90 minutes. So I poured myself a big glass of herbal tea to close out my stomach window. After I finish my nails, I'm going to make myself go to bed. So my eating window is closed!

    A big thanks to everyone for being supportive of my recent life events. Unfortunately Alzheimer's is a disease of lots of little good byes and while I've become used to it to a certain degree, some of them really hit home. I also appreciate all the thoughts on how to deal with my manager. It's good to have perspective. Some steps were taken (by both of us) in the right direction yesterday.

    I appreciate you all!

    @vegan4lyfe2012 said, "

    I was diagnosed about a dozen years ago with Major Depressive Disorder and Binge Eating Disorder. More recently, Inattentive ADHD about 2 years ago. I’ve tried all 3 types of antidepressants – NDRI (Wellbutrin), SSRI (Zoloft and Lexapro), and SNRI (Effexor). My brain is unable to tolerate any of them. They actually made me think of ways to harm myself and, even scarier, my children. Not sure what else to try."

    I'm so sorry that medications aren't helpful for you personally… I have a female friend who tried taking 25mg of Sertraline (a mini-dose to start!) and she became overwhelmingly jittery, that she had to stop it! It's unfortunate that some people's body can't tolerate medications meant to help us. ((((( extra big hug )))))

    You’re right about the junk and alcohol. I’m sure I do need to just get rid of it all.

    If it's around we'll eat it… eventually !!! I had this container of chocolate bark - a gift - "squirreled away" in the back of the frig for about a month. Sunday, I thought I'd just have a "small piece". I did… then proceeded to eat half the package! LOL The next morning I felt guilty, so I threw the rest of the SEALED package in the garbage, and felt better all day for it. By last night night, I fished the sealed package out of the garbage, and ate the second half! LOL What can I say, I'm not good with my "portion control" LOL Though today my scale only says I gained 0.6 lbs. But I'm not taking any chances… super watching what I eat today, and getting more exercise in !!!

    I need to remember to give away the junk food… or open it up and mix it thoroughly into the garbage of coffee grounds and onion skins and moldy fruit !!! LOL

    I used to air pop popcorn for evening snack time and top it with spray oil and a taco nooch seasoning I would make. That would be a good habit to get back into. I’ll try your tip of adding ½ ounce of the powder into my oatmeal and see if that does the trick. Thank you.

    I need to get a new popcorn maker… the one recommended to me, which I bought, just spews the popcorn all over my kitchen !!! My cleaning lady just shakes her head as she has to sweep it all up. (Unfortunately my rollator and using a broom don't mix well, as I lose my balance!!!)

    On a happier note- DH and I had a fun and relaxing weekend- dinner out, an Elvis show, shopping, brunch. It was just what I needed! Even Gus got in on the fun as DH picked out this new toy for him.

    Popping in real quick before I hit the highway. @bobboyardee has promised us an intro post if I'm able to go 3 days with no binging. I can do this!!!

    @TeresaW2024 Oh good ! I'm glad the cookies are out of the house now. Thank you! Too bad you woke up so early. I'm sure you have a lot to remember with Joe, I am glad you were able to see him on the monitor and help him back in the chair. I'm sure it is very tiring to handle all of this.

    @Veta2018 it was really good ! I'm glad you had a good time at the wedding. You looked beautiful, what a great looking couple!

    @AustinRuadhain Way to go ! Super impressive considering you were out of your element for a few days! Good to get to the airport on time. Good luck with your food prep! Thank you for saying that about my dog, I felt bad she had to lose teeth but in the long run, it's better for her.

    @vegan4lyfe2012 Ah I see . I saw on Reddit that Ghost makes a good vegan protein powder. I have not tried it but they have interesting flavors: https://www.ghostlifestyle.com/collections/vegan/vegan The day of romance was fun but very plutonic lol. I'm glad you are feeling a little better. Good job over the weekend. That's good you can drive to the conference. I hope it is okay for you. Big hugs!

    @bobboyardee Way to go , woo hoo! I love that you and @vegan4lyfe2012 are holding each other accountable . I'm looking forward to your intro post because I KNOW @vegan4lyfe2012 got this !!!

    @Cornanda I'm glad you are headed in the right direction with your manager . I'm glad you had a fun weekend. Gus looks like he loves his new toy!

    @laurelfit57 I love leftovers for the first day lol , I can only eat leftovers for 2 meals in a row and then I get sick of them. I can eat them later in the week, though. We are pretty good cooks! Yeah I was annoyed with USPS/Amazon. Oh the pug cafe was sooooo fun! Sorry about the sunburn. Sounds like you got good exercise in at the event! I don't blame you for not drinking water, if there were only outhouses, I wouldn't want to use them! LOL I'm sorry about the headache. I've got one this morning, not massive though. Hopefully, it goes away.

    Hi all. I haven't been doing well with water lately but yesterday, I drank 72 oz, which was my goal. It really helps me to track the water. I made a yummy dinner last night, it was One-skillet Mexican Chicken And Rice containing chicken and rice with salsa verde, corn, and melty cheese. I have a lot of leftovers, which will be good for Thursday when I don't feel like cooking. Man, I have a bad headache this morning. I hope it goes away!

    Tracked yesterday? YES!

    @Vegan4lyfe2012 I’m glad that you have an upcoming appointment with your GP, and I know you will benefit from seeing your therapist. I hope your time at the conference turns out to be great! 🙂

    @laurelfit57 Our hospice nurse comes twice a week to take his vitals and order us whatever supplies or meds we need. She will come every day if he needs it. Things are challenging, that's for sure! Ohhh my, your day as a leash runner sounds exhausting! You definitely need a day to recover and drink a lot of water! 🙂

    @Cornanda, That is wonderful that you and your DH had a good weekend. You needed it! Gus is sooooo stinking cute!! That is a great toy! Maggie would have a hole in it in less than a minute and a pile of fluff on the floor. Does Gus eat all his stuffed toys, too? 🤨

    @trooworld Good job on drinking all your water! Yum, that recipe looks good. I love one-pot Mexican dishes so much! 🙂

    Good morning! Joe woke up this morning wanting his phone so he could text his mom, who is very worried about why he isn’t at home. We did a quick redirect and will wait for that topic to come up again later. I ordered him an electric under-desk elliptical, which will arrive today. He doesn’t have the strength to use the manual one, but I want him to exercise his legs since he spends all day either sitting or lying down. Hopefully he will like it! I was happy for a loss this week and really plan to keep it going in the right direction. No excuses!!! 😎

    @micaroo4 may I weigh in on Thursday instead of Wednesday? My day is going to start extra early (for me) and most likely I'll forget anyway. Lol… I'm not a morning person.

    Hi 👋

    The last few days have been "different", I have been told that maybe, it's time to get on disability. I'm sure, I don't qualify for it, but for the sake of argument, I decided to start checking into it because I am losing my medical insurance. As a result, I have 3 dr appt the next days and they are all going to be long. Then, I have another one next week, for my heart and mental health and weight management. I'm most likely have to stop using Wegovy because I can't afford it, and I'm terrified. This is the best I've looked in a long, people are noticing and I'm worried that I'm going to gain it back. Needless to say, I have been stressed and depressed the last several days.

    On a good note, I have been doing some actual exercise and that has felt. I haven't been very good at tracking, so I need to work harder on that and I have been journaling again.

    I need to start moving around. I have a lot to do since I'm going to be home less than more the next couple of days.

    Y'all have a great day 😀

    @DrewsAnna - is that just for this week? Or are you asking to change your Weigh-In day to Thursday every week? If it's just this week, it's fine. I'm sorry about the insurance and the wegovy. You've made great progress. Good luck with the disability application. My dad used to say "Everything happens for the best". If you believe it, things seem to work themselves out that way. HUGS!

Got the dogs out for a long walk and took class I tracked all day and no processed . Still not getting enough water in, I will have to work on that. Hope everyone had a great day

    I finally got inspired for the Sandcastle contest. I'm working on the detail now which is the fun part. Judging starts September 5th. I saw my Primary Care doctor for a checkup today and got bloodwork done too. My mammogram came back normal. I've been feeling pretty good, I have not had a flare for a while now, but I just might have jinxed myself. I think getting out and riding my Trike is helping. I bought the neatest little air pump for my Bike tires it airs them up in just a few seconds. It said it would also do car tires; I should check that out and see how it does. I usually just drive thru the tire place, and they air them up for free. Its battery operated and charged up with a usb c cable.

    Oh my goodness, an intro from

    @bobboyardee ! Go @vegan4lyfe2012 - you got this and are going to feel SO great when you nail it!

    @TeresaW2024 - Yes, Gus puts holes in his stuffies too. We just give them to him for a little while, and take away when he starts chewing them. The giant alligator is a nice decoration in my office when he's not using it. He didn't know what to do with it at first since it's so big, but now he runs around with it. It's hilarious.

    @TeresaW2024 Thank you ! Yeah, that recipe was good! I love easy stuff, and this one was pretty easy. Oh, dear Joe. I hope the elliptical helps with his strength and that he likes it. Congrats on the loss, Teresa!

    @DrewsAnna I wish you luck with the appointments . I'm sorry about the depression and stress. Good job with the exercise and journaling!

    @bobboyardee Great job !

    @laurelfit57 Good job with the gym and getting the dogs out ! AND you tracked and no processed foods? You are rocking it! Get on that water lol.

    Hi all. The headache I had yesterday didn't go away and I felt sick so I went home at 1 pm. When I got home, I took a nap and felt a bit better when I woke up. I made myself dinner, air-fried chicken breast + roasted grape tomatoes. It was really good. At work yesterday, I threw away the candy I'd been snacking on. I don't need it and it's just sabotaging me.

    Tracked yesterday? YES!

    What’s a small, healthy swap you’ve made recently (like a food, drink, or habit) that’s been easier than you expected?

    What’s a small, healthy swap you’ve made recently (like a food, drink, or habit) that’s been easier than you expected?

    I upgraded my strength training workout to increase the difficulty, and so far it's been pretty easy. Also, 11 days ago, I decided once again (for the umpteenth time) to quit diet coke. It is NOT easy. I have other caffeine sources, so that's not what I'm missing - I just miss the product. When I want something to drink, it's diet coke that I want, and I have to choose something else. It's not easy; in fact it much harder than I remember from my previous times of quitting the habit.

    @19shmoo69 - Thank you for teaming up with me in the last challenge.

    @AustinRuadhain - My husband owns a tree service. I don't do any cutting. I help by being a watchful eye to keep him safe. I also load branches and logs, then rake and cleanup.

    @vegan4lyfe2012 - Thank you, That's such a nice way to put it. I never heard svelt before.

    @TeresaW2024 - Way to go on the loss!

    @DrewsAnna - <HUGS>

    @baodell17724 - Thank you, you're too kind. Great article. I struggle with eating before bed.

    @trooworld - Thank you. I'd love to raid your leftovers too. You and your husband make a lot of delicious dishes. It's good that you realize you don't need the candy and through it away. Glad the headache went away.

    Thank you everyone. I feel like when I say it on here, I am more likely to commit to my actions. So, I have been slacking on my workouts since Saturday. I need to stop making excuses and get back to it. Even if I do an evening workout, which I never do.

    @DrewsAnna I am very sorry for all that you are going through, and I hope that you will be able to get on disability. I know it can be very challenging and take a long time to get. Hopefull,y that won’t be the case for you. It's great that you are doing exercise. For me, exercise is so much more about my mental health than it is about my physical health.🙂

    @FushiaKat I can’t wait to see what you do for the sandcastle contest. I bet you will win!! Great news about the mammogram! 🙂

    @Cornanda We buy Maggie stuffed toys so that she can rip them apart. My sister is especially bad at bringing home a dollar-store toy so that she can watch the joy Maggie has in mutilating it. Her toy box is full of partially eaten toys. 😆

    @trooworld I’m glad your headache is better. You haven’t complained a lot about your headaches. Are you experiencing them less often? Yayyy for trashing that candy!! I almost put a chocolate bar in my Walmart cart, but then I reminded myself that I’m not doing that right now. Old habits!! 😂

    @micaroo4 Good luck with quitting the Diet Coke! My sister is currently fighting that battle. She works at a deli, so it’s a struggle to stay away from it. I only buy it if we eat out, and that isn’t happening right now! 😀

    Good morning! My boss came over yesterday to do some work, and that went fine. He spent time with Joe, which was nice. It’s becoming increasingly complex to move Joe from one place to another, so I just ordered an adjustable tray that will work with his lift chair, allowing him to eat there instead of having to be transferred to the table and then back into his chair. His new electric elliptical arrived yesterday, and I’m going to have him try it out in a bit. I might try using it too, since getting into my workout room these days isn’t happening.

    Question: What’s a small, healthy swap you’ve made recently (like a food, drink, or habit) that’s been easier than you expected? I went back to not eating breakfast and just drinking my two cups of coffee. If I’m really hungry, I add a half scoop of protein powder to my last cup of coffee, and that has been working, along with drinking a big glass of water, or two. 🙂
