What do I love about my body right now?
Truthfully I don’t like any of it. I know being overweight for so long doesn’t help with the chest and belly area even though I’ve lost 91 pounds. But the overall look I’ve battled with most of my life. When I was 21 I was complimented for looking good for being in my 40’s. When I was 40 I started receiving senior citizen discounts. Now I’m heading to the latter part of my 50’s and I was told that I finally look my age. I’m not sure what that means.4 -

@TeresaW2024 - 😥 that Joe passed out so hard, I'm glad help was available to get him back in bed. I think that lousy scammer caught you at a bad time- with the lift assist people just there, it probably didn't seem as surprising that the sheriff "found" you. And all of the stress and worry about Joe. Please be very kind and gentle with yourself. You deserve it. I'm very grateful your family took care of you when you needed taking care of. I hope you had a calmer day
@DrewsAnna - did you get your work out and tracking done? Enjoy your me time! :)
@littlebabekitty - Congrats on the loss!
@micaroo4 - Enjoy your vacation! What will you be doing? You can tell us all about it when you get back.
@baodell17724 - 7 hours of exercise is terrific! The OA book was a good idea. Seems like you are putting tools in your tool kit every day with all of the interesting articles you find. You can never have too many tools though. Keep up the good work
@trooworld - 7 pounds of muscle?! Wow- what great work you are doing on your body and your health! Congrats! I got DH the home version of that scale for Christmas. Last time I got on it, it said my metabolic age was 65. I am 57. I'm planning to try it again soon to check my progress.
@laurelfit57 - I can totally see Ty being stoked about camping. Have fun!
@Katmary71 - that IS frustrating about the adoption event, but now you get to keep the kittens a little bit longer. What did you do with the muffins?
@gemwolf110 - sounds like you are trying out some fun new exercises lately- great work! Thanks for the beautiful inspirational posts!
@19shmoo69 - the takeaway I got from your post about your body is "what do people say such stupid stupid things"??????????????????? If I may, sir, I'd like to say that you shouldn't listen to people like that. (that was my attempt at using an accent on here, but you are much better at it than I am)
What do I like about my body? I noticed that we seem to be responding with what we don't like about our bodies to this question….😝 While I like what I am seeing in the mirror, the best thing is just plain feeling healthier- I feel like a person who takes care of herself, cares about herself and is open to trying new things to accomplish these goals. That feels wonderful!
Had lunch with DD yesterday- first time I've seen her since she moved out. Then we went shopping for stuff for her apartment. It was really great to get caught up and have some fun together. I've got to get through this week at work and then I have the week after labor day off. We have ordered some new couches- they will arrive while I'm off and we have some things to do to get ready for that. I'm very excited! The rest of the week, I will enjoy not being at work, get a few things done, and RELAX!
Two family birthdays in Sept- thinking about how to celebrate without derailing my diet.

DISCUSSION QUESTION: What do you love about your body right now?
That I'm no longer as top-heavy as I was 15 months ago. I can bend over (with my rollator as support, always!) and pick up light things off the floor, w/o using my "grabber-thingy". Improved balance. No longer feeling winded when I walk a few feet. Not constantly taking a shower 2-3 times a day to feel "clean". All-in-all, feeling more healthy, which at 68 years, and with MS, is something you really can't afford to take for granted!😒

@DrewsAnna - Enjoy your "me time".
@micaroo4 - Hope you have a nice vacation in Bangor.
@littlebabekitty - Congrats on the loss!
@baodell17724 - Stay strong!💪
@TeresaW2024 - That’s terrible that you almost got scammed. My husband and I bought a lift for our tree service and sold our old one. A month later we were informed that the lift we bought was rented from Home Depot. We are out $10,000 and then it cost us $17,000 to replace it. The guy even went into our bank with us and used his license to have the purchase notarized. The police said he did it 5 times in 5 different states. When he gets caught he will serve 6 months and do it all again. We will never see our money back.
@trooworld - Congrats on gaining muscle and losing body fat. That is so awesome. You should be very proud. Oh…I want one of those fancy bio-metric scales for me at home. My husband and I enjoy going to yard sales and thrift store shopping. Never know what you'll find. I have a Christmas Village I never use. I don't have a big enough place to set it up. What I would like is a large nativity scene to put outside this year. Roller skating sounds fun. Thanks for sharing the PPL exercises.
@laurelfit57 - Congrats on the loss!
@Cornanda - I hope this week go by fast and without any hiccups. Great response to the discussion question.
DISCUSSION QUESTION: What do you love about your body right now?
I like my legs. Even though they are short, they have a nice muscular shape. I also like my tan. I get lots of sun on tree jobs and in my garden.

@micaroo4 - That was a good discussion question. It really got me think about working on trying to complement myself more. I wanted to answer with a bunch of things that I don't like about myself. I was surprised, after I thought of something I like about myself, that it led me to thinking of more things I like. The more I like me the better, I will take care of me.
@gemwolf110 - I've taken notice to your daily quotes. I used to utilize daily quotes for inspiration to keep me motivated. Thanks for the inspiration.
While I was home with my grandson, my husband went grocery shopping. Big mistake. He brought home milk and a bunch of meats and sweets. No fruits and vegetables. And he bought white instead of the whole grain/wheat, that I would buy.
Congratulations to @littlebabekitty, @trooworld, and @AustinRuadhain for leading the way for our team.

Hi 👋
I enjoyed my "me" time yesterday. I watched preseason football games and babied my plants. I misted them and let them know how beautiful they are. I know, lol… I'm strange, but I swear they like it when you talk to them. 😃
I got a 30 minute workout done today, walking & strength, it felt good. Now, I'm tired. Probably, has something to do with the next paragraph.
My heart dr called me today (on a Sunday) and I'm going in for an angiogram tomorrow. He needs to take a look around at my stents and bypasses and make sure everything is still doing good. I guess, my stress test showed my heart function decreases under stress. I'm pretty sure it's nothing serious, but I'm a little nervous.
Y'all have a great rest of your day 😃 I'll be back at some point tomorrow.

WEIGH IN UPDATE
WEIGH IN DUE TODAY FROM @vegan4lyfe2012
Reminder To Weigh In Tomorrow To @AustinRuadhain @bobboyardee1 -
@Cornanda I took some of the muffins to my brother’s house earlier, I’ve been eating them but not in a bingey way. Love your answer to the question! Your time with your daughter sounds like fun. How exciting to have new couches coming that’s great!
@baodell17724 Love your answer to the question too I know once you have health issues it doesn’t usually get better so be very proud of all your gains.
@trooworld Great I hope you love the dinner! I need to make that again soon while heirloom tomatoes are still around. Sounds like a great day aside of the hubby taking a long walk, haha I bet you were frustrated with him! I haven’t heard of Talk to Me watching horror movies is a little nerve-wracking. Crushing the gym workouts wtg! Very disappointing your friend won’t go roller skating with you, I hope you still do it. Funny I’ve been thinking of goals by my birthday at the end of Sept too.
@Veta2018 Oh my gosh that’s horrible about the lift for your tree service! Sounds like you’ll need to hit the store for some produce and bread after your husband’s shopping trip.
@littlebabekitty @trooworld @AustinRuadhain Great job leading the way team winners!
WHAT DO I LOVE ABOUT MY BODY RIGHT NOW? Not much, my muscle tone and I look healthier from a tan like @Veta2018 said (I’m a very pale Armenian in winter).
@19shmoo69 Haha those are some weird “compliments” to get I don’t blame you for not being thrilled by them. I’m sure you have great muscle tone from the workouts you’ve been doing I’d love to hear one thing you genuinely like such as your eye color or ear lobes. I chose my belly button and have had a few surgeries through it so now don’t care for it much.
@gemwolf110 What an active weekend with golf and the spin class! Did you play golf or watch?
@DrewsAnna I’m glad you enjoyed your “me” time, I think they like being talked to too! There’s interesting research about how they react to good and bad talk. Good luck with your angiogram I hope it’s nothing, sending prayers up for you.
Hi gang! Not much to report today I went for cat food, stopped at my brother’s, and got some prescriptions then have been hanging out at home cleaning. I’m thinking of finding a challenge to do from now until my birthday (9/30) so will browse for that later. Tuesday the kittens get micro chipped so I’m trying to get the house clean. I need to step on it with finding a car and a roommate. Probably going to the farm in the morning, will see how I feel when I get up. Have a great Monday!

INTRODUCTION:
My name is Drew, I’m 43 years old and a musician. I live in SE Wisconsin with my husband Frank and our rescue Labrador Retriever, Hunter! I play drums, guitar, bass, piano, trumpet, electronic devices, and sing and rap. I do music where I record all of the instruments one at a time and then layer them so it sounds like a band. I’ve released 7 albums, including soundtracks for an independent horror film and a video game documentary.
I’m a Sri Lankan-American, born in the United States, and I have quite a bit of childhood trauma surrounding food. I gained weight during the pandemic, but felt like it was more than just overeating. Some false starts with coaches and nutritionists helped me understand that I have disordered eating, specifically late night binge eating, and most probably have ADHD. I started attending Overeaters Anonymous meetings online and found a great community there. I signed up for Mission Slimpossibles because I wanted to have accountability with late night eating (and because the name was hilarious).
I actually really resented being a member of this group, nothing to do with the group, but I just didn’t want to have to weigh in and you know, actually be accountable. I also had a weird feeling about someone finding this out and then connecting it to my music work (despite the fact that I’ll talk about binge eating to anyone who asks).
I’ve been a resentful vegetarian for 22 years. I feel like I need to do it for environmental & personal ethical reasons, but there is nothing to eat in my neck of the woods. I feel like I eat veggie burgers and cheese pizza and rice pilaf and Taco Bell and that’s it. I hate cooking and I just get mad all the time. So then I binge to get “revenge” on my dissatisfaction.
I’m formerly suicidal and while I am really proud of continuing to choose to live for myself, I think a lot of my shame/resentment/self loathing comes out in my eating. This is also probably why it has taken me 10 months to introduce myself??? I’ve done a lot of work in therapy on my depression and trauma as a gay person of color and it’s been nothing short of miraculous.
I HAVE LOST 15 LBS SINCE JOINING THIS GROUP!
I saw @vegan4lyfe2012 posting about horror movies and it was the first time I thought of actually wanting to talk to someone here . “I’m not the only vegan/vegetarian in here. Cool.” Then @baodell17724 joined and I was really happy to find another LGBTQ individual ! Then @TeresaW2024 posted and my heart exploded to find out that I wasn’t the only person in an intergenerational relationship. Three aspects of my life that I feel very isolated about, and I found three friends in the Slimpossibles who share these aspects with me. I feel like this was not an accident!
Okay, this has taken 30+ minute to write so I will end here, more to come, and here are some pictures. I forgot who kept asking for dog pics, but here they are!
Special shoutouts to: @Cornanda @laurelfit57 @trooworld @Katmary71 and literally everyone on Team Mission Slimpossibles.
❤️

@bobboyardee - well, hello Drew! It's wonderful to read your courageous introduction, with photos and everything! I didn't realize that you've lost 15 pounds since joining the group. That's great progress, congratulations. I'd love to hear some of your music 🎶 if you can post a link or something...
4 -
Drew, that's what friends are for !!! Welcome, Bro !!!🙃
7 -
@bobboyardee I enjoyed reading your introduction and am so glad that you have found friends here who share some of the same commonalities with you. I find that most people are essentially the same and want to live a decent life and be seen for who they are. Congrats on losing 15 lbs!! 😎
@trooworld How exciting and cool that you bought skates! I haven’t skated in over 30 years, and those were the old-school skates, not the fancy rollerblades. Every Saturday night at the roller rink with my girl friends, flirting with the boys, and having the best time! I remember years ago when we were staying with our family in Huntington Beach, we would watch the skaters do their fancy tricks. I can't wait to hear all about your skating adventures! 😀
Good morning! It was another rough night with Joe waking up several times. At one point, he needed to get on the bus and couldn’t find his sunglasses. I’m like, babe, just let me sleep!!! 😭 I am psyching myself up to have a hard talk with my boss about those dang Zoom meetings. We have one tomorrow night from 6 to 8 pm. That is right in the middle of Joe’s sundowning, constant chatter, and wanting to get up from his chair. I took his butt to bed last night at 6:30 pm because he wouldn’t stop trying to get up from the recliner. I have felt guilty because I do so little these days for my paycheck, but I do the stuff that matters to keep the doors open, the staff paid, and the graphics made. That has to be enough. In other news, I haven’t been working out, but I am trying to be very mindful of how much I’m eating. Maybe there will be a loss tomorrow. Maybe!!! 🙏5 -

CW 201.8 ✅Hurray for being in the green. In the moment, I was disappointed a bit by today's number. But it was a super odd week. It was great to have my son visiting. Love that. We ate out a lot, and I made the best eating-out choices I could manage. I also worked out less, and that makes a difference, too.
I'd like to do more this week. I am so, so dying to see a 190-something number on the scale!
So, here are my plans for today:
- Catch up on all the laundry
- Pick a new audiobook to listen to while walking!
- Do a long outdoor walk (time to take the long park-to-park hike?!)
- Clean the fridge
- Make a food plan for the week
- Go shopping (midday, while it's quiet)
- Make a list of Scouts items, and then check at least two off
- Make a list of convention items, and then check at least two off
- Choose a Garmin exercise badge I am excited to work on
- Pick at least 2 calisthenics I will daily this week, and do sets
- Log my food (I fell off that wagon the last couple of days)
I am also working on tiny habits. For anyone interested, my focus this work is BJ Fogg's "Maui habit." When I put my feet on the ground in the morning, I say, "It's going to be a great day." (Today I was late. I think I am going to put something on the floor, to nudge my brain, so that I remember to do this, even witgh my pre-coffee brain!)

WHAT DO I LOVE ABOUT MY BODY RIGHT NOW?
Oh, wow. This is such a challenging question for autopilot me. When I think about my body, what comes to mind first are things I am dissatisfied with.
So, taking a breath — I love that I can move and get outside and enjoy the world. Thank you, legs! Thank you, arms, trunk, lungs, circulatory system!
To look at? My calves. As someone carrying too much weight, I have built up strong calves!
My trunk is not small yet, but I can see my stomach and hips are shrinking bit byu bit, and I love that I am starting to feel lighter!

@bobboyardee - Congratulations on losing 15 lbs. It takes a lot of courage to tell us about your personal life. Good for you. I'm not there yet. I have some things I don't reveal. I keep them to myself because I'm embarrassed, afraid, or maybe I just don't want to hear what other's would say. I use it as my drive to focus on exercise and nutrition instead of dealing with it. I know it's not a healthy way to do it, but it's working for now. To be fair, I will tell you something, I don't usually tell anyone. I'm a closet pot head. I wake and bake, and then a couple hits every couple hours. I function normally and because I'm always stoned, no one really notices. That's why I get the late night binge urges. My oldest son is a musician too. He plays multiple instruments and records them in layers. When he was younger he was in a band and traveled the country and parts of Canada. Now, he gives music lessons. I'd love to hear some of your music sometime.

Hi 👋
I'm not going in for my angiogram today, they are having trouble fitting me into the schedule. They said, hopefully, tomorrow. I'm hoping for tomorrow to, so I don't sit and stew on this.
It's going to be hot today, so I'll be stuck in the house AGAIN. Oh well, there is never a shortage of household chores. 😒
Y'all have a great day 😀

@Veta2018 – That’s crazy that you have no recourse with the scammer guy. Hopefully he gets caught soon and gets a judge that makes an example of him.
@trooworld – Talk to Me was a fun one. The directors of that movie (Philippou brothers) also did Bring Her Back this year and I loved that one much more. They did a great job of combining gory and heartbreaking. Love your new rollerblades!!! Makes me smile…wonderful memories of roller skating back in the day…I loved my speed skates. They were black with a gorgeous blue shade of wheels. My favorite color!
@DrewsAnna – You made me LOL with talking to plants…keep them happy so we don’t have a real occurrence like The Happening! Good luck with the angiogram.
@Katmary71 – Ongoing best wishes for your ongoing car search.
@TeresaW2024 – You and Joe are always on my prayer list. I hope you’re able to work something out so that you don’t have to be on those 2 hour Zoom meetings. Does anyone take minutes? Maybe you could bow out of them and just read the minutes to know what’s going on and email the group with follow up info or questions?
@bobboyardee – Thank you for the intro – we have so many little extra connections! Your dog and my daughter have the same name 😊 and Sri Lanka happens to be my all time favorite region for tea! Can you tell me the name of the indie horror film? I love all things horror, so curious to know if it’s something I’ve watched. I just contributed to a kickstarter campaign for Slasher Trash. They are working on a new documentary exploring obscure, low budget garbage. Love it! I feel you on the difficulties of finding things to eat in my area when I want restaurant food…thankfully (or not, lols) there is a local pizza place that has an entire vegan menu. That’s mine and Hunter’s favorite place. We also love a Mediterranean restaurant that’s about 45 minutes away and usually go there once a month. On a serious note, I’m very glad you’ve made it through and are no longer suicidal. As a parent of a bipolar child, we’ve been through several attempts, hospitalizations and med changes. I’m so glad therapy is working for you. Hugs! And how awesome you’re down 15 pounds! Thank you so much for reaching out to me and being my evening accountability partner. It really has helped me so much! (Plus I lose count so easily, so I appreciate you keeping count for us!)
My weekend went by way too fast. I thought I did better than what the scale showed, but still glad that it didn’t go up. Glad I get to see my therapist today. After that, I’ll get in the craft room for a bit before going to see Trust. Looks a little silly, but hopefully plenty of action. It’s listed as a thriller. We shall see. Oh and P.S. I am hating the protein powder with every tea I've tried it with except the first one. Still hunting for the perfect one.
WHAT DO I LOVE ABOUT MY BODY RIGHT NOW? I started with the tips of my toes all the way up to my head. Does my hair count? Cuz I love being 51 years old without a single grey hair. If that doesn’t count, then I love that my grandchildren love to fall asleep on me and they are comfortable on my squishy, pillowy body LOLs. Here's Ollipop showing how it's done:
2025 is MY year!

WEIGH IN Reminder For Tomorrow (because you all are rockin this week and weighing in on time woohoo!) @TeresaW2024 @FushiaKat

@bobboyardee You don’t look anything like your profile pic, haha!! Welcome Drew! That’s an amazing amount of instruments you play and your career sounds fascinating. I’m not as big as a horror film buff as @vegan4lyfe2012 but I’ve read a lot of it. Here’s another tidbit that will surprise you, both @Cornanda and I played the organ as kids and I think there used to be one more person here who did but not sure if they’re still around. I played for 6 years. Do you have a favorite genre? Very cool to hear what you do. I loved your introduction thank you for doing it I think while we all have food issues to be here there’s a lot more we have in common. I was bedridden for 20 years and felt like I was a weirdo with nothing in common with people I was so isolated and being on MFP and in this group is what helped me realize while I may not have the same life experience as others there’s a lot of people I do have things in common with thank goodness. It honestly was a first step to me trying to come out of my shell. I can understand the resentfulness there’s times when I’m thinking I deal with enough I should be able to eat what I want but that’s not true with diabetes and the health issues I have. I’m very happy you’ve found your “tribe” here that makes me happy to read and I’m so glad to see who you are now! Love seeing your pup and husband too the three of you look so happy. Congratulations on 15lb down!
@baodell17724 That meme is awesome I love it!
@trooworld I hope you love the salad tonight! Funny I got everything to make it again and invited my neighbor over tomorrow for dinner and even went back to Trader Joe’s after my appt to grab wine and she hasn’t replied (was going to make it for her last time but she wasn’t feeling good so I had it by myself) so I may be making it for just myself again. Rollerblading will be exciting congratulations, you’ll be skating (blading) by beaches like so many do in Southern CA! I’m excited you jumped in and got everything it truly IS an investment in your health.
@TeresaW2024 Huge hug to you on Joe’s rough nights and the Zoom meetings. If there was a way they could let you know what was expected of you after that would be nice but I’d imagine you need to make some of the decisions too. Sending love and prayers up your way.
@AustinRuadhain Oh I hope you get to see the 190-something number soon too! Serious list right now I’m trying to catch up on things right now too and need to copy you with making lists. Love the habit you’re working on I agree that would be challenging to remember before coffee. IF you drink coffee maybe a post-it on your coffee pot to remind you if you forget?
@DrewsAnna I hope you have the angiogram tomorrow too that’s something stressful that will be hard not to think about.
@vegan4lyfe2012 Thank you. LOL figures the first protein powder with tea went well but the others haven’t or you would’ve returned it! There’s a bone supplement I take that tastes like tropical vanilla and I can’t stomach it anymore, the nutritionist makes all kinds of cool things like jello with it but I’m going to start looking for pill form. What tea from Sri Lanka that isn’t too expensive would you recommend? I love seeing your tea posts on social media it’s relaxing to imagine your mood sitting in front of the tea. Hope your therapy appointment goes well and you get some good craft time in. Hair definitely counts!
Hi friends! I managed to get in a good workout and get the kitchen and most of the family room clean still have some papers to sort through. I have two women from the rescue coming by tomorrow to microchip the kittens and they’re coming later than planned and offered to take the decals to the group’s president (I was going to do it but they’re coming later now so driving that far in rush hour traffic would be challenging). I’m getting back to my physical therapy workouts and am feeling pretty good after doing it the last two days, little sore but that’s ok. Had an appointment for a urine test, the CRPS specialist I’m going to be seeing soon is a pain doctor and I hadn’t known I’d need to do a drug test but I’m in a pain clinic now and they allow marijuana (use tea at night for pain) so I’m not sure if it’ll be an issue as it’s in my chart. I’m going to let the kittens run around the house tonight the biggest one is over 5lbs now and my little guy is 3lbs 6 oz now. My cats sat on the coffee table watching the six kittens go crazy, Asher hisses at any kitten that approaches him but Jasper is a good sport. Have a great Tuesday!
