I am puzzled. I wrote a post last evening and included a teapot. I hit post reply but where did it go???
Have a lovely day.

Happy Wednesday! I have a couple of errands to run but nothing else. Going to bring my 4 pair of glasses to be adjusted as some are a little loose. I am giving myself two weeks to get adjusted as I am told to do. It is only my distance glasses I am concerned with but that might have something to do with my macular. We will see.
Lin, sorry you lost your post that is very frustrating.
Jackie, you amaze me with your talents. I would have no idea how to paint a whole wall. I have done some touch up but never a whole wall. You are indeed very independant. Stay safe.
Barbie, back to your usual routine?
Have a great day.

🌧️ There was a big noisy wind storm last night for about two hours. The wind scares Bessie so she moved from her bed that's against an exterior wall to a place next to where Annie and I sleep. Annie worried about Bessie so she kept getting out of bed to check on Bessie. After the storm we slept well. My walk in the morning gave me a chance to see the mess all over the park—lots of little debris and branches but no major damage. Power popped off briefly. It was interesting to see the number of women our age out sweeping and collecting branches from their yards before 8 AM. I gathered all the branches that were too big to put in my garbage can and put them in a pile at the edge of the street for the park maintenance people to pick up when they clean off the streets. It stared raining again so I couldn't do any more clean up until afternoon.
😀 The management of our park has initiated a food closet for people to bring food and people who need it to pick it up. I hope the people who need it will take advantage of it. I know a lot of people here are living on very limited incomes.
😀 Jackie, I used vinegar to wash my fence that was covered with green gunk. It worked great. I didn't want to use something with chemicals that would have a bad effect on the grass.
😀 Sandy, except for all the extra yard work, I'm back to my regular routine.
😀Lin, no one understands what computers do including sending a post to outer space.

I don’t believe it!! I tapped the page as I finished my post and it disappeared, then came back before disappearing again, this time for good! It’s now midnight so I have to get to bed because it’s been a busy and tiring day. 😴
Back tomorrow,

Happy Thursday. The sun is shining after a foggy start and George has had a long walk on the moors. Yesterday was busy with grocery shopping, a walk then finally painting the last coat of emulsion on the snug wall. My furniture is back in place and I just have to sort through my books before putting them back on the book shelf.
I’m going to make the most of a dry day to get a couple of jobs done in the garden.
Barbie, that’s a great idea to use vinegar for washing garden structures. I bought another bottle when grocery shopping yesterday so will clean my plastic shed with it!
Sandy, I hope you enjoyed your more leisurely day. My reading glasses are always sliding down my nose so I find myself holding a book or magazine up until my arms ache!
Lin, I love yesterday’s teapot with its butterflies. Is that the picture that disappeared? When my post disappeared last night a page I have never seen before on MFP took its place. The gremlins are never far away!
I will finish my coffee, don my wellies and step outside.
Take care, stay safe and enjoy your day.Jackie 🥰

Happy Thursday! Meeting today, then picking up a friend to meet other friends for an early dinner. I am sure some slot machines will be involved. I got all my glasses adjusted to fit well except one pair which he is having redone. My computer glasses were giving me a headache so he is adjusting the prescription and they will send me a new pair. So far I am liking all of them but the test is when I am driving so the jury is still out on that one.
Have a good day I am running out of time.

Happy Friday. Nothing interesting here. We may be heading towards both freezing temps and snow flurries this weekend.
Sandy, I hope this weather will miss you.
A couple of my friends are on Maui and may have problems flying home. That would make me crazy.
Jackie, congrats on completing the painting job!
Barbie, I hope you are free of the strong winds.Be safe.

Happy Friday! Almost done with laundry. I have been busy with searching airfares for my granddaughter's wedding in May. The problem is the airport is over an hour away from the hotel or two if we fly into Reagan National Airport. I am trying to co ordinate with my two granddaughters because we will probably have to rent a car and I am not comfortable driving in a strange city. Getting answers from 30 year olds is difficult. lol I will work it out somehow just not today. I also have a call into my back doctor who controls my pain. I either need another injection or I want to talk to someone about the ablation he mentioned. My shot didn't work so good since I got in in August, I am taking tylenol every day and I don't like taking too much tylenol because it can cause liver problems. I am going to Robby's karate tournament tomorrow which is in my area and after bringing the kids home with me to spend the night as mom and dad have an AA dinner to attend. Either the parents will pick them up early Sunday or they will go to Church with me.
Lin, we are also expecting your weather and it does not make me happy. I hate winter and snow even more. Good luck to your friends, I hope they get home on time. The airports are a mess with the air controllers not getting paid. So many flights are being cancelled.
Barbie, sounds like a beautiful walk. I am lucky if I get 5000 steps a day so good for you. More to come with dancing. You are amazing.
Jackie, it is simple to get your glasses adjusted, just a matter of finding the time to go to the eye place you bought them.
Have a great Friday.

Happy Friday. Yesterday was so warm it was like stepping back into summer but it didn’t last because wind and rain has returned so it’s cool. After walking George for an hour on the moors I spent the day doing housework and resetting the log burners in case needed. Goodness Lin, that’s a shock to think of you expecting snow! Please don’t send it in my direction, although come to think of it, this time last year we had 6” of snow the day before I had to drive David to the hospital in Plymouth for his hip replacement.
I have received a text from our government’s agricultural department warning that Avian flu has been found in Cornwall and Linda has also let me know a hen owner in our local town has had to destroy a flock of 15 because either they’ve contracted it or a farm nearby. Fingers crossed my chooks will be safe.
Sandy, nothing is ever easy in Britain! To get an adjustment to my glasses I have to make an appointment then, because it’s not a priority as far as the optician is concerned, hang around waiting for a member of staff to be free. My fault too that they are some distance from home and a car park so I have to be in the right frame of mind to spend half a day just to drive back and forth on very busy roads. Unfortunately there is only one optician in my town with rather old fashioned equipment so I use a well known chain in another town.
Take care and stay safe.

Happy Saturday! Zoom call with family and then going to watch Robby in his karate tournament. Two mornings in a row I got woken by a 7:30 phone call. Yesterday is was someone who wanted to talk so told her I would call her back after she asked if she woke me. Today was the pain doctor's office to set up an appointment to talk to the doctor about the ablation. I did go back to sleep both mornings.
Jackie, I don't go to my eye doctor to fix my glasses but where I bought the glasses. Maybe things are different in England. My eye doctor just gives me a prescription and then I go where ever I want to fill it which is normally near my house.
Hello to Lin and Barbie.
Have a great day and I just hope we don't get any snow today.

😱 I got lulled into a false sense of security. Today Annie managed to pull the TV remote off the dining room table, carry it to another room, remove the back and one of the batteries and hide it all amidst her blankets. Fortunately she didn't chew the end and ruin it so it still works and I don't have to order a new one.

Hi, it is a wet day with temperatures dropping. We expect dropping temperatures with the possibility of snow but not a lot. That is a good start I guess. The iffy issue is temperatures dropping after a day of rain…..the streets and sidewalks maybe slippery. Ooops, it looks like the precipitation is turning already.
Barbie, Anne is mischievous! I am glad the remote still works and wow, glad she didn’t chew of and swallow any bits of the remote. Wooo!
Sandy, I hope you enjoy the Karate tournament. How did it turn out?
Jackie, I put in a special request that no snow will fall over your house. I hope the Avian flu doesn’t make a visit either.
Zoom classes are over for today. I need to work on cards again. I made a small pot of vegetable soup. Yummm. And there’s a leftover bowl for tomorrow. It is soup season I need to get some more vegetable broth it is very difficult to find no salt added broth. None at Whole Foods or my local branded grocery store. I could have some shipped to me but not right now. Ordered too many things for the winter ahead
Be safe.

I’ve had a pleasant Saturday. Clear skies when I got up so I loaded my washing machine before walking George then set off for one of our gentle strolls. Ruth with her Jack Russell Ziggy arrived at the same time but she walks a lot further and faster than George and me, the sort we used to do 10 years ago, so we chatted briefly then went our separate ways. I’ve weeded a flower bed and also picked a few pounds of crab apples with a plan to make jars of jelly over the next couple of days for Christmas gifts. Only a few tomatoes left in my greenhouse that will hopefully ripen.
Lin, thanks for the special request but Indo hope you can put one in for yourself. Icy roads are a nightmare but the iced cakes with today’s teapot look tempting!
Sandy, our opticians sell frames and coated lenses but do give out a prescription if I wanted to go elsewhere. Generally it’s easy to do the whole transaction in the one place. When I was younger and didn’t have many changes in my vision, I would buy online because they were cheaper.
Pets are asleep and about time I was in bed too.
Stay safe.

😱 Lin, Annie has ruined two TV remotes requiring that I buy new ones from Amazon for about fifteen dollars. I was glad to not have to do that again. Yesterday she grabbed a box of tissues off the table and ripped up the cardboard box. I saved most of the tissues and put them in a plastic bag and put them in a safer place. Right now she asleep on her red blanket near me.
❄️ Snow, no snow forecast here yet which pleases me because I still have some yard work that I want to do. I won't mind it when it comes after the work is done. I've started ordering extras of staple groceries in case there is a week when I can't get out. When I scheduled the dog groomer for December she reminded me that snow and ice would require her to cancel since she drives a van and lives up a hill out in the country.
😀 Pressure Washer, I finally took the plunge and decided to learn how to use the pressure washer. I watched two You Tube videos and read the direction book before starting. I was successful in getting it to work but found it awkward—like a six year old using scissors for the first time. I won't try to use it to power wash the house of the driveway, but I have a lot of plastic milk crates and other storage baskets that should be easier to wash with the power washer. Stay tuned for more news.

Happy Sunday! Robby did well at the tournament taking a secong and third place trophy. They are here watching some TV while waiting for their dad to pick them up. I was up early and didn't sleep well but I will try for a nap later after Church if Rob makes it in time for me to go. Otherwise I will find a Church that has a 5:00 mass later. I want to meet with my friend to book our hotel for the cruise. We go the night before and stay one night to be sure we don't miss the cruise with delayed airlines.
I am going to eat some breakfast and take a shower incase Rob does come before I have to leave. I don't want to text them incase they are sleeping.
Have a good day.

It is way past my bedtime but to be honest there is nothing to report. The forecast wasn’t great so I took George to the moors early and managed a dry but windy walk. Got home just in time and it has rained all day so I made coffee and watched our Remembrance Sunday service and march past from London then enjoyed a very lazy day.
No news from the roofer who was going to visit at the weekend to investigate more guttering that I think needs repairing but know he is very busy.
Take care and stay safe.

Hello, nothing much here today. Cold and windy. I did some work on Christmas cards and did several Zoom classes.
I received an Amazon package today and there were damaged items. Gosh it is difficult to get through someone who will address the issue. Bots just keep me in an endless loop of returns when the items are food which are not returnable.
I hope everyone is okay.

😀❄️ It got cold (3 C) for a few days so I rearranged drawers to have access to gloves, warmer base layer shirts, and leggings and now the temperature has gone back up (11 C). It was drizzling this morning.
😀 Connected with three friends on Sunday—one from Europe on Zoom, one from California by phone, and one local on an afternoon walk.

Happy Monday! Just placed a grocery order to be delivered this afternoon. Going to a concert tonight for Cathy's birthday. One of her favorites, Joe Bonamassa, I don't even know who he is. lol It is our gift to her. Finally got the hotel booked for the night before our cruise. Now waiting for airfare to come down which doesn't seem possible in current conditions. I also have to book airfare for my granddaughter's wedding. Busy six months next year.
We had some snow over the weekend and little more last night. I hate winter.
Enjoy your day and stay warm.

Sandy, glad you didn’t get the forecasted heavy snow. That’s enough of a start!
Barbie, glad you have your warm clothing all sorted and ready to use.
Jackie, did you hear from the roofer today? I don’t care to be on pins and needles never knowing when someone will be in touch. It is still fairly cold here, around freezing, and the sunshine they promised did not develop. They say by the weekend we should see at least one day near 70 degrees F.
I heard the flu is expected to be rampant soon. I made an appointment for a shot tomorrow. But the strains they chose from the vaccine may not be very effective. Hummmm. Well, maybe it will be better than nothing.
Be safe everyone.

George and I went to our usual spot on the moors in spite of low, rather threatening clouds, but wearing our waterproofs I thought we would be fine. What I didn’t anticipate was a torrential cloud burst when we were in an open area with no protection so what with a strong wind, it was quite unpleasant! George was ahead of me in thinking it was time to take a short cut back to the car so it ended up a shorter than anticipated walk. It was a dry afternoon so I spent time raking leaves and cutting back huge Gunnera leaves from a plant that is getting too big but is probably too difficult to dig out.
No sign of the roofer Lin. I know he is busy so must be patient but because he was in the middle of a job, probably up on a roof when I phoned him, I do wonder if he has forgotten me.
A beautiful tree Sandy although it does look cold! Is it a Maple or Acer with such pretty coloured leaves? I’m with you in hating Winter. It seems like only yesterday I changed my winter curtains to summer but it has to be my next job to get out the heavy pair.
Stay safe and warm.

Happy Tuesday! The concert was good but not really my kind of music. Cathy, the birthday girl loved him so that is all that matters. I have an eye appointment with the trial doctor at his regular office this afternoon. He just want to check my eyes and said it would only be about ten minutes. All because I asked if I could quit the eye drops because the predniscone is burning my eye. He want to be sure all is okay. His ten minutes usually means an hour so we will see.
Jackie, I have no idea what kind of tree that is. I am a city girl not a country girl. lol I hope the roofer shows up soon before it gets too cold.
Lin, it is cold here as well but climbing all week until Saturday when it will be 63. I got the higher doze flu shot with my covid shot at the beginning of the month.
Time to eat and get ready. Have a great day.

The rain is pouring and wind howling down the chimney! We did manage a walk to the next village before the awful weather arrived but since then it has been a lazy day for me and the pets. I’m now going to spend time checking EBay for a few items, including charity Christmas cards. I did find a design I love on Amazon but I don’t pay for Prime so postage would be more than their value! Cold weather arriving next week so I will blame my American friends for blowing it across the pond!! My oven is switched on ready for a baked, sliced chicken dish I’m going to make.
Nearly missed your post Sandy. You did make me laugh about the tree. To be honest I don’t recognise many but have an App on my phone called PlantNet. I use it to photograph plants or leaves and it identifies it! I hope your eye appointment goes well.
Happy Tuesday. Stay safe.

Hi! Brrrrrrr—-cold day. I went to the pharmacy this morning for my flu shot appointment and froze from the cold wind. I think my winter coat would have been better than my light weight fall jacket.
When I got home so decided I needed to do my reading and research on which method for paying my quarterly IRS estimates would be best for me. I read and looked up additional information. Finally decided on an individual account tied to my checking account.
Took me quite a while to open an ID.Me account and then got to the IRS site to get my identity validated and my checking account verified. Also had to have several multi-factor methods for login.
No service fees on this method, you can set a payment for a specific date and can actually set up to 3 separate payments. Well, at least they said you could. I just set one payment in December. I was happy to finally have this finished. I have been dragging my feet on tackling this since the end of September.
I did several Zoom classes and now my arm is swollen and kind of miserable.
I am watching my regular Tuesday evening YouTube program but am tired and my eyes are sore from all of the reading today.
Jackie, how did your chicken dish turnout? Nice hot food is lovely on a cold day.
Sandy, the guy you saw is a very famous guitar virtuoso. Lots of folks are crazy about him. I didn’t think I ever thought he had a really good band but then I only listen to bits and pieces of things that get my attention.
Be safe everyone. Time to crash.
Lin 🙋🏼♀️

Okay, probably not a real tea or coffee pot but since I just mentioned a guitar player, I find it amusing.0 -
😀 Lin, your experience with setting up payment of your estimated taxes reminded me of several of the things I've had to do in the last year to change accounts. Something that I was capable of doing but so cumbersome and so in need of being done correctly with no margin for error. Congrats to you for persisting and getting it done.
😀 I like winter just like I like all the other seasons. Our weather is not as severe as in other places—more drizzle than rain, occasional snow that rarely lasts long, temps that don't go too far below freezing, and little need for me to go anywhere if the weather is bad.. I have good clothes for all weather and a reliable heating and cooling system.
😀 My TV entertainment comes from Amazon Prime, Brit Box, Acorn, PBS Masterpiece, and You Tube. I haven't added up the total cost but it's something I can easily afford and brings me great joy. Having Amazon Prime allows me to buy things I need that I can't get with my curbside pickup from the grocery store.

Happy Wednesday! I have a doctor's appointment in a little over an hour so not much time. Other than that I have nothing else except maybe stop at Walmart for two items I forgot with my grocery delivery. I have basic TV on Xfinity along with a few streaming stations. I get a few free with my TMobile and my sons have me on their accounts so I really don't pay for any except Netflix. I get Netflix free with TMobile but I am paying an additional $8 for no ads. I also get some free streaming from being a Walmart+ customer, so my TV bill is low. I mostly watch regular TV channels for their programs which I record weekly.
Lin, yes, he is very talented with those guitars of which he had many. I would have liked to have heard him do a few slow numbers instead of all the jazzy ones.
Time to grab something to eat and get ready. Have a good day.
