Happy Thursday! Meeting today and tonight going to Robby's band concert. First I have to stop at Cheryl's and take the two dogs out. I just hope it's not too cold, I am a baby in cold weather.

    Have a good day.

Hello, happy Thursday from here as well. It is sunny and milder this morning. I dropped off more used batteries at the library and then made a trip to the grocery store. It was fairly busy today. Shopping for the Thanksgiving holiday already?

I also got 2 birthday cards in their envelopes and out in the mail.

I think I am over the flu shot now as well.

    Wishing everyone a happy day.

Happy Thursday. We have finally enjoyed a dry day with some sunshine so after walking George I drove to pick up Linda and take us to one of our favourite garden centre coffee shops. We decided to enjoy some fresh air so found a table outside in a sheltered area and stayed chatting for a couple of hours. Blankets are supplied but they were needed! Linda’s new grandson was born last week so we celebrated Lenny’s arrival with a smoked salmon brunch and lots of coffee! Of course, by this evening heavy rain had returned!! Cold weather arriving next week along with the gardener who will cut back higher hedges.

    Stay safe.

Happy Friday. Yet another wet and windy storm has arrived but I did manage to walk with George before it got too bad. Only to a local field but it’s a good size and enough for both of us. On the way home I bought some tea bags because I was about to run out and this afternoon have been ordering bedding for the hens and dog food because George keeps changing his preferences! Also found some packs of charity Christmas cards so that’s a start! Nothing else of interest going on!

    Take care and stay safe.

Happy Friday as well!! Robby's band concert was short but sweet. He plays the saxaphone although he was in the back so hard to see. Congratulated him on a job well done and went home. Today is laundry day and tonight meeting friends at the American Legion where I used to play bingo. There wil be 7 of us so it should be fun. They usually have a band and a 50/50 raffle.

Jackie, sorry about your weather, we are hitting 65f today and 68 tomorrow but back into the 40's on Sunday. Crazy weather. I hope to put my Christmas wreath up on my balcony tomorrow. I won't turn it on until after Thanksgiving but will take advantage of the warm day. I will also cover my balcony furniture.

Lin, sorry you were unwell with the flu shot. I was lucky even though I got both the flu and covid together.

Barbie, keep enjoying all you do.

    Have a great day,

Good morning. It has warmed up to unreasonable levels. In the 70’s yesterday. That will not last but nice for now.

Sandy, how was your trip to the American Legion Hall. Any Bingo wins??

Jackie, glad you found done suitable Christmas cards. Excellent. I need to get back to working on those. 👀. Hello to George.

Barbie, the Silver Sneakers are having a dance party via Zoom this afternoon. I am looking forward to that. My favorite instructor is hosting it. I am guessing it will be mostly Latin dances.

    Wishing everyone one well.

Happy Saturday! We had fun at the Legion. There was 7 of us, we had the fish fry and listened to some music and even played a little slots. No bingo, their bingo is on Wednesday nights. I am doing some more laundry and hope to put up my wreath on my balcony as it is 66 degrees F. I will probably go to Church tomorrow as I didn't sleep well again.

Have a good day and hope your weather is cooperating.

🐾🎶 Happy Saturday. 6AM meeting on Zoom followed by a long walk. I stopped to talk to a woman near the end of the walk and she asked how Annie was doing. I said she was doing great then got home to find the back of the TV remote on the floor by the table, and the rest of it at the far end of the room. Fortunately Annie didn't chew on it so it still works.

🎶 Had a good time dancing with my friend yesterday. We only had to put Annie on a leash briefly twice during the session.

🌞 I watched an episode of "Escape to the Country" set in Cornwall. Two comments I remember are "Everyone wants to live in Cornwall" and "The lanes are so narrow." I've lived most of my life not far from the coast and think Cornwall would be a great place to live.

🐾🐕 the dogs have slept most of the afternoon interrupted only briefly by sessions of barking at real and imagined people walking by.

Happy Sunday! I managed to put up my lights and wreath and cover the table and chairs. Of course it is a beautiful sunny day today but only in the 40's f. I am going to Mass soon and then picking up a prescription so haven't much time. I made up some sleep and slept 9 hours so I feel good.

I hope you all have a great day and stay safe.

    Hello

I cannot believe it is getting dark already. Nothing particularly interesting today although I did see lots of photos from a small private engagement party that was given yesterday afternoon. The couples also having a small private destination wedding next year. Interesting.

Sandy, glad you got your outdoor decorations up. My neighbor across the street put up all of their Christmas decorations yesterday and had them lit last night. They are pretty.

Barbie, that is a good show. Love Escape to the Country. FYI, I loved the dance party yesterday. It is do nice to have Zoom connections isn’t it.

Jackie, how are you this weekend? I found a lovely Instagram account for a gent from Cornwall who plays lovely music. Swallows and Crows. I hunted for full length songs on Spotify and found a few.

    Be happy everyone.

Monday already! My weekend was pretty boring with walks and gardening to put plants in sheltered places and wrap my lemon tree in fleece because cold temperatures are on the way. I’ve also lagged an outside water pipe but then realised I threw away the plastic box I usually
place over to protect it from cold winds; obviously too enthusiastic when tidying a couple of months ago so will have to shop for some sort of storage box.

Sunshine and chilly this morning so an enjoyable walk for George. Not so good for me when I stopped to talk to a walker I’ve known since first taking George on to the moors and sadly, he just lost his beautiful Westie to cancer. I did notice George wandering away and by the time I managed to pause the conversation he had disappeared. Our walk was almost over but it seemed he wanted to keep going because I had to walk some distance to catch up and clip on his lead! Straight back to the car and home because I had removed bed sheets to wash and wanted to hang it all out while we have sunshine.

There are still places in Cornwall where it is possible to avoid the hustle bustle of today’s society but as our cities fill to overflowing, I do feel my little corner is getting squeezed by escapees. I don’t mind tractors and Landrovers going about their work but I rarely drive anywhere without someone in a car who is not used to our roads almost causing an accident! Living here, I tend to enjoy Escape to the Country in other counties!

Lin, I have heard of Swallows and Crows. When I first moved here our pubs would organise Friday night live music for small Celtic groups but after lockdown few remained open.

Coffee finished and must get on with more outdoor tidying.
    Stay safe.

    Jackie 🥰

😀 Hello on Monday. My Sunday and Thursday walking friend has a scheduled medical procedure today and Annie and I will be driving her to the hospital, getting her settled and checked in, driving home, and waiting for the call to pick her up. I told her the whole day was for her.

😀 Son, John, called over the weekend and spent most of the conversation apologizing for not calling more often.

😀 When Larissa was here I gathered up some toys that Annie hadn't played with in awhile and put them aside in a cardboard box on the floor. I had been thinking that I might throw those toys away since she hadn't played with them, then yesterday afternoon I heard a lot of noise and found that she had emptied the box and was playing with the box. Later she played with one of the toys she'd dumped out of the box. Fortunately I don't mind all the clutter

.😀 Jackie, I live in a town that was discovered by retirees who settled here in droves starting about 30 years ago. Affluent people built houses on what used to be farmland and the result was more shopping and higher property taxes. I've talked to people who grew up here and they lament the quiet old days. Some people say that this is where old people go to visit their parents. There is a high concentration of assisted living, senior residences, and nursing homes. A big reason is that there is less rain here than in the surrounding parts of the Pacific Northwest.

😀 Lin, between Zoom and You Tube, I can entertain myself for hours.

😀 Sandy, glad you got your decorations up. I don't decorate for holidays but I appreciate what everyone else does.

Happy Monday! Been a busy day with getting blood work, ordering groceris and making medical appointments. That time of year again. I am sitting later and still need to take a shower. Busy week.

Barbie, I don't put up many decorations just my wreath outside with some balcony lights and inside I keep it simple with a cermanic tree and a painting from my ex MIL who painted a Christmas scene I love. I don't get much company for Christmas. How nice of you to take your friend to hospital and pick her up. Annie didn't want you to throw her toys away she wants them for herself. ❤️

Jackie, you sure do keep yourself busy with your property. My busy seems more fun. lol

    Lin, hope all is well.

    Have a good day.

Hi, a Monday with the usual stuff. One diversion was a phone call from a friend who had an accident that sort of clipped off a chunk of her finger. Scary, bloody and a trip to an urgent care clinic for some type of antibiotic cream and a tetanus shot. It sounded so painful.

I was going to make a trip to the grocery store but there were traffic snarl ups during rush hour.

Two of my Zoom classes were upset today. One couldn’t get the instructor connected, the other one had an instructor that could not get her sound and the music to work. Terrible class for knowing what she was trying to do.

So it was a for real Monday. 👀

I don’t do much for the Holidays. Maybe a little plant. And I send out cards of course.

    Take care everyone.

😀 Sandy, you decorate more than I do and you do exactly what pleases you. Taking my friend to the hospital went smoothly. I went in with her so I could take her coat, phone, and identification with me and while I was there the nurse told me that the procedure was a short one and there was no delay so I'd be better staying in town and not going home. So Annie and I sat in the car in the hospital parking lot and waited. Annie played with her toys and then went to sleep. I listened to a podcast and read my e book. It was three and half hours from the time I left my house until Annie and I got home and she slept most of the time.
