    Morning Ladies!!!!

I am still plugging along....the weight is still there (although some days I feel more bloated than others) and I am still experiencing fatigue every now and again. I am up about 5 pounds since June 1st. I was feeling out of sorts this morning and think it's because I haven't checked in here....so I was glad to catch up with you all and your NSV's...(Rayann I want to go to the Stampede it sounds yummy!!!)

But I can't believe that I have stuck that tomorrow is the end of week 6 for me.

It's funny - some days I can't imagine where I am going to cut the calories in a few weeks and then days like yesterday where I didn't eat all of my calories despite eating heavy meals at both breakfast and lunch.

To all the newish resetters....welcome! Enjoy the process....yes it can be frustrating feeling sluggish and bloated and wondering how you can eat this much but a few weeks in this just becomes normal and the stress and guilt of going over calories disappears and that is a heavy weight that is lifted.....

Argh I hate the days before TOM. My hormones are through the roof and I turn into a moody and raging beast who craves carbs with no end. How I hate this time. :grumble:

I'm getting more accurate numbers from normal days and it looks like my TDEE is closer to 2000. I know that I'm supposed to stick with one number but I'm not sure if I'm willing to eat over 100 cal everyday knowing that it all goes into my hips. I will be busted if I outgrow my very few clothes and there is no way I will be able to afford buying brand new work and private wardrobe. I now had couple days where I ate over (way over my TDEE). I feel guilty and want to start over by lowering my number to actual TDEE and then stick with it for the next weeks.

I assume you are saying that you have a device that measures your tdee such as a BMF?? If you have taken an average over at least 2 weeks and it's definitely 100 cals lower than what your online calclulator has given you then it should be ok to adjust it. Just make sure that it is as accurate as possible before making the adjustment.

just checkin in...i'll be done week 2 tomorrow of eating at TDEE. Gradually upped my cals since March from around 1000 to now at 2000. Today and yesterday i've been soooooo tired. It just hit me like a ton of bricks. Previously I had just been on a high--energy kick from coming off 1800 cals. Then almost 2 weeks of 2000 cals and i'm like whoooaaaa what the hell? Been on holdays for the last week and just takin it easy, so no extra energy spent there. So just gonna work through it....still trying to ignore it actually. Weight-wise....I never weighed myself till I got home a couple days ago and I was 148.4 when I left. When I got home I was 152, next day 150 and this morning i'm back to 148. So other then the lack of energy, guess i'm faring pretty well over-all. Still not sure how long i'm gonna be doing this My original thought was 2 weeks and that's tomorrow so i'll see...I hate to say it (cause i'm REALLY dying to get this weight off me) but i'll probably go longer to see how my body reacts to it.

the previous paragraph is from July 3rd. Since then i've been plugging away at TDEE. I talked myself into doing another week. Also come to realize that the 152 to 148 lb drop was water weight, cause it's back on now that i'm exercising regularly again. I'm back to doing weights 3x a week and walking for around an hour every day at 3.0 speed. Gonna throw in the odd Jillian Michaels just to get in some cardio, probably just once a week or so. Feeling pretty good over all now...other then the dreaded belly fat that I seem to be carrying since I upped to 2000. Probably the only thing that makes me re-consider what i'm doing on a weekly basis. I've had to start wearing longer shirts now to hide it :( I've talked myself into doing week 3 now which started on Tuesday. Hoping I can talk myself into week 4 also :P Yes i'm still losing inches and feeling stronger...but the belly fat really jumps out at me every time I look in the mirror. Gonna keep on keepin on for another week. Smiles n hugs to everyone else doing the same :flowerforyou: :drinker:

Today is kind of a sucky day. I knew it was coming....TOM has arrived and the extra baggage tipped me over the 170 mark.   Even though I know it's TOM weight, it still makes me feel deflated emotionally.

I'm almost done week 7, start week 8 on Monday. Everything seems to be on track, my weight has stabilized over the past month (except for this final stupid TOM weight), and my metabolism is revved up (if my hunger/eating ability is any indication). I'm trying to pay attention to my diary these last couple of weeks to watch for ways that I can reduce my cal intake for cut. I think I should be ok...it's just a matter of pulling out a few old healthy diet habits. hopefully!

Not sure how I feel about eating at TDEE. That's what I was doing before.

I just started one week ago. I lost 11 pounds in my first week by going 500 calories (30%) below TDEE. I haven't been hungry at all and have been able to include my favorite foods. My BMR is almost the same as my TDEE.

Yes, I have the Bodybugg and I just renewed my subscription not long ago. Since I've been wearing it, there were couple VERY busy days that rarely happen. I have such a busy week maybe every two to three months or so. Other than that I'm mostly sedentary though out the day with 5 workouts per week that burn around 220-250 cal each.

I totally hear you all saying that it's a hard process physically AND EMOTIONALLY. I've been doing this for 6 days and while I WILL NOT throw the towel, it's hard on me mentally right now. I hate being this emotional in a negative way. Normally I'm a happy & smiling person but this is seriously kicking my booty right now and I want to cry

I do wonder about bulking though. If you want to lose, you eat at deficit but you will more likely lose some muscle mass. When you want to bulk, you eat at a surplus (how high surplus?) and you gain muscle & some bodyfat right (how much body fat)? What happens when you eat at TDEE or just slightly over? How likely will my body convert the small surplus into fat when I lift heavy? I don't do NROLW but I lift heavy (heavy for me at least) 3x per week with P90X. I wouldn't mind putting on muscle weight. We love lean mass don't we

    ugh-those days suck, don't they.
That's the joy of being a woman-but what else can we do than dealing with it.....
We will be starting the cut around the same time. At the moment I kinda have difficulties to see me eat less lol

I know how you feel. I didn't expect it to be mentally so tough. I hit a wall at week 5-I am better now though.
Regarding the bulking I think Kiki is the specialist. I don't know how much you would eat over TDEE, but I guess also around 10%
Just stay strong and hang in there. We are all sitting in the same boat

If you go on scooby and plug in "gain muscle" instead of a deficit, it will tell you what to eat.

Well, just finished week 1 at TDEE (which is 2600 cals for me!!!!). I was MISERABLE the first 3 days. By day 4 i felt less bloated and more hopeful. For a couple of days i actually enjoyed eating more. (Which is HUGE for me since I was SCARED to death to do this.) YEsterday I actually went over a little. I did feel hungry the last 2 days!

At the beginning of the day I usually try to plan out most of my meals. It is still hard to try to plan out for that many cals.... I try to keep my protein up but, for the first time in YEARS, i'm not doing low carbs. I try to keep my food 80% healthy, but to be honest i've enjoyed going out and not just having a salad. Or having chips again, Or waffles :)

So, my weight. Before, while doing low carb and 900 cals, if i took a few days off, I would gain 4-7 lbs. In a few days! Now, I know it wasn't all fat, but it's what happened. This week i'm up 3.8 lbs. Now I know non of us wants to see the scale move in that direction, but compared to the gains i used to see in just s few days of not even eating as much as i did this week.,....i'm hopeful :)

Now, i'm sure it's gonna be up and down, but i already am feeling some changes about the way i look at food. I'm aiming for the 4 week mark, although it is trempting to cutnow b/c i wanna start losing. We are going on vacation the last week of August. PArt of me wants to still be eating at TDEE by then and part is afraid I won't have any clothes that fit by then :/

Okay - it's my turn I suppose to be in the rut....today I feel blah and pudgy. My clothes are snug and I stepped on the scale and am still hanging at the 5 pound gain during my reset and for the first day I sighed when I looked at the number.

The calm side of my head is fine with the gain and excited that it has stablized for the past 2 weeks so this means that I have hit my TDEE BUT my pants are tight (hello muffin top) & I am still feeling tired especially about an hour after my workout. And I wake up ravenous....so that is another good sign....and I am enjoying eating my 2000 calories a day....BUT today I am just not there....

And I know this feeling will pass but today I just want to whine....so here is me whining....:cry:

We all need to whine every now and then. We'll just uh-huh and tell you to hang in there! So: Hang in there!!!

I'm kind of bouncing around within a lb of the same weight for the last few days. I'm only stuffed if I do not spread out my allotment over the day and try to correct by eating a lot of proteins later in the day. I'm starting to think that maybe my metabolism is still ok.
On the other hand I'm just a few days into the reset so who knows...
On the one hand I don't want to stay in the reset longer than I need to (so in effect it would be more of a diet break than a reset), on the other hand I want to make sure I don't need to do a full reset down the line.

I put on my HRM this morning and it reads 1950 cals now (after 9 hours, most at work). Can that be about right if my TDEE is estimated around 2400?

Hello all, time for my weekly check-in. I am up again in weight this week. But TOM was here so I'm blaming that. So altogether I've gained 4.3 lbs since I started my reset 6 weeks ago. Starting week 7 tomorrow. I'm still having trouble eating all my calories, I'm starting to think that my TDEE is closer to 2100 calories since my weight has pretty much stabilized and that is what I have been averaging. I really struggle eating more than 2100 and haven't been able to get past the bloated feeling. I guess I need to eat more carbs and less protein? I know I've gained a couple inches around the waist although I refuse to measure. I can just tell by the way my pants fit.:noway:
Mentally, I'm doing better with eating more and not feeling guilty about it, especially since I'm only weighing in once a week. But I better lose it when I start my cut or I'm gonna go over the edge. Lol!
Two more weeks! I can do this.

Today is my 7th day of the reset and i have loved eating more. Now i had been on goalweight and maintenance since march, but i wasnt happy with my 1500 maintenance calories. So i started a reset, expecing to gain some weight and then going back into cut and coming out leaner then i was before i started EM2WL.

Sofar its been difficult to get all my macro's right. Im terrified i will fall back into old habits of just eating loads of carbs and sugar loaded food and forgetting all the principles i learned in the past year of eating healthy. Its easy to just fill your calorie allowance up with chocolate and jellybeans, but thats not what i want.

Your HRM is not designed for daily, regular use, so it will not be at all accurate for this. You would need to invest in the firbit or BMF or similar in order to get a full TDEE reading.

To all of those starting out with the reset.. It gets easier, I promise!! The feelings of overstuffing and bloating go away very quickly and soon you wont even know how you sustained on 1200 or so cals to live.. You will be amazed by how great you feel, how much energy you have and your time to cut will come quick. Those of us who started at the very beginning are heading into our last week here and its amazing it has gone by so quickly. I was fretting doing a full 8 weeks and Im amazed I am actually sticking it our for it.

Have faith.. keep going and know its the right thing to do:)

I have been reading and will KEEP reading, but my first question is I think my TDEE based on the scooby link is 2084 (im 4'11) I think Im very active, but if I lose...IF I lose during the first week at 2k+ then I need to raise the calories, right? basically meaning I underestimated when filling out the info.

PS I feel like an idiot LOL

and damn, 2100 calories is a dreamy thought!

If you calculated it correct, then yes eat your TDEE. If you are losing you are too low.

    Thanks and Im in
    Start 7/13/12
I weighed in this morning jus tbecause Im starting something new 135.1
...and doing it because I love food and couldnt ever stick to low calories, it felt weird, I felt OFF for too long, cant seem to get down under 130, and I used to eat like a guy and looked outstanding (Marines) so why cant I again...
TDEE ~2100, might be under estimating but thats what I'll go with right now because of money and feeding 7 other people the cost is going to be the hard part. Thanks for this thread its been educational, and Im sure it will continue to be so.
