Men and women over 60 (actually even those as young as 40) who want to lose weight without losing lean muscle tissue have special needs. Hormone driven muscle growth is no longer present, and calorie restriction without adequate protein will lead to muscle loss. The loss of muscle leads to immobility which leads to diminished quality of life. Retaining lean muscle tissue requires resistance training as well. This is the philosophy we will explore and try to apply to our lives.
