  • I've had to just do it online, and expect to return things via the post office. Did you see the statement from John Lewis saying they're not encouraging/ allowing people to try clothes on? I'm expecting more places will be the same, and.given the number of times an item of clothing is handled on the rack before you try it…
  • That looks amazing, thanks. I had in my head that I would probably aim to recomp for a while and see how things settled, get used to it a while, but figured it was worthwhile researching options while I'm in downtime anyway. It may all be a moot point anyway, since my equipment is restricted I didn't care so much that I…
  • @cupcakesandproteinshakes I picked up a non-Olympic barbell early last year after my second kid and began with a stronglifts 5x5 app at home, but in the background to jogging because I always enjoyed it. I began to focus more on weights this year because of knee pain with too much running, but I've found it difficult to…
  • Thanks for the information  One of the best things about this forum is the chance to ask alot of lovely people for their experience and advice! No to the 30+lb, I phrased that badly. I'm currently 12lb above a healthy bmi, and I believe I'm about 25% bf, mostly held in my lower tummy and upper thighs, everywhere…
  • I've been researching lean bulks, so do you mind if I ask a few questions here? It does connect to cutting after a bulk. I'm wondering how long have you all typically bulked for? As far as I can determine if I'm a woman, not new to lifting but not super experienced (2nd year while I lose weight), then the most muscle I…
  • @katie9399 Every time I drop a ten kg range on my scale, I have had trouble mentally referring to myself at that weight. My current thought is oh I'm nearly at 90kg (I'm near 80) and I've experienced that every single bracket I've gone down. Eventually I must start to internalize it, but while I walk around normally, I…
  • Walking around my village with my child on my shoulders, no struggle at all, in a comfortable sundress, getting checked out by a cyclist riding through yesterday. I want fit people to admire me more often!
  • In a size ten (uk) top this morning, and dress yesterday. Even though I know that's mostly the fabric and cut (I'm a 14 really, going off measuring tape) I'll take the win!
  • You can completly get there, it's just consistency and patience. For the first weigh in ever- I just lost half an inch on my hips and no change anywhere else. I think I've finally exhausted the easy to digest fat...
  • It really does sound like actually you need a break and to put yourself under less stress, it's sounding like your pushing too hard and not getting enough recovery at a difficult time. Why not eat at maintenence and have a recovery week or two (less exercise) and then see how you're feeling/ weighing?
  • Track for two-six weeks and see what happens? There's a great thread pinned about working out your maintenance calories based on past losses, if you have that data? If you know that you're correct with budgeting maintenance calories, then yes, if you actually burn more than that you will be losing weight, but if you are…

  • Small things to help now would be simple stretches before bed, the cat/cow combo is a good one to Google and spend time doing as a starter, easy to fit in 5 mins and it helps with the pain.
  • Fat come off whereit wants to come off. In my case, I lose it from my top half first, and then very very slowly my hips then thighs then lower belly. So by the time it comes off my thighs I look pretty lean everywhere else. I'm making an effort to build my upper body to balence it a bit more, rather than stress about the…
  • I set my initial goal weight at where I was when I felt healthy/ fit (which is about 10lb over a bmi threshold, so slightly overweight but last time I was that weight it felt right for me). This time, I've already got to that weight and because I've been consistently weight training and have had two kids, I'm holding my…
  • I'm completely also lusting after the she's 💪 / fit thing.. I've started to see definition in my arms and it feels fantastic. There are more than a few pinned upper arm tattoos on my inspiration pages on Instagram, its just being brave enough to book an appointment.
  • That most of the "skinny" clothes I kept as motivation to lose the baby weight, I would never wear again even though I now fit into them. What I enjoyed wearing at 28, with an active social life, is not what I want to wear now I'm at home with two kids. It was nice to try them on, and to feel an achievement, but buying new…
  • Put my husbands mens medium jacket on to run out for the bins, and it felt weird, got in, looked in the mirror and realised it's now massive around my shoulders. We're the same height, only he's about 20lb lighter so this maybe the first time I've felt feminine grabbing some of his clothes.
  • ... my first thought was"friend?" but then my sister is kind of like this, insecure and just doesn't realize that people can get hurt by some of the stuff that comes out her mouth. And I love her, just with a tiny amount of wanting to spite her by being in better shape than her brain can cope with and make her miserable (I…
  • I had to search for the thread, so hopefully commenting now will boost it up the chain a bit! I've taken the decision to try not using my tracker for a week or two and plan instead, so I actually signed up to the free course a few days ago. I am a little apprehensive in case I end up accidentally reducing my deficit but I…
  • As always, committing to the next 2kg off. 14 to go. Then twelve, then ten....
  • First non-stop 5k of the year :)
  • @AlexandraFindsHerself1971 I have been hanging onto my last pair because they are really soft, but when they get to stage that you forget they're actually hight waisted jeans and can pull them up/down without undoing anything like a pair of joggers, it's probably time to let them go! I have a mini goal of only having a…
  • Wearing the next size down jeans this morning :)
  • God no. I always wonder if business would do away with open plan offices if they realised how bat *kitten* crazy /anxious those of us who are introverted get when we HAVE to be surrounded by people for 8-10 hours straight until we hide in the toilets for some quiet. This is bliss, and somehow my work is managing just fine…
  • I also think you probably are a bit more active than you give yourself credit for. You say you are going over, I'm wondering if you're naturally ending up at maintenance calories - are you gaining weight at what you end up eating instead? If your weight is stable at that higher amount, why not work down to a lower number…
  • Sometimes the days when you go over a do make a difference, if your actual deficit is small, but it can be completely normal not to see movement as a woman- if you're menstruating then unless you know your cycle pretty well it can be difficult to know when to expect movement and when not to. Second half of my cycle I…
  • Keeping going for half an hour slow jog, barely above walking really, because I have zero energy this morning and felt like I was sleepwalking through most of it. It's amazing how motivating it is knowing that you have only one shot at exercising outside the house!
  • I'm finding my pms worse post kids, and from charting symptoms on my fitbit I know that it really fatigues me, with the appitite increase that goes along with it. After spending a week and a half eating like crazy last cycle, I promised myself that if I wanted to each at maintenance this week I would, but not more, and…
  • I have 6lb to lose before I'm where I was last summer, so that's the small goal that will get me into all my lovely sunshine suitable clothes :)
