  • Was just about to say, check your posture. Poor posture makes a flabby belly look worse.
  • Unfortunately if you're anything like me, even at your lowest (and an unhealthy) weight you may still have a flabby stomach. If so, it's not safe to continue losing weight just in hopes of losing the flab. Posture definitely plays a part, I have very poor posture and weak muscles in my back and shoulders. I've just started…
  • Like anything else you eat, it's just about portion control though...
  • I just made these but with chocolate fudge flavoured protein powder, and I rolled mine in finely desiccated coconut. I got 11 balls out of mine, they're smaller than the ones in the photo. I used 60 grams of PP, 14 grams of coconut oil, 25 grams of coconut flour and 10 grams of the desiccated coconut. Comes out to 50…
  • I prefer using the recipe builder on the website rather than the app. I generally set up a recipe before I plan to cook it with general weights and ingredients. Then as I'm cooking, I write down the measurements on a scrap bit of paper. Once I'm done cooking I either update the weights on the app or website.
  • We have Gap here in Australia, not sure where you live but I believe they have a few stores in Sydney and Melbourne.
  • 164cm, approx 50kg and I'm generally a small/6-8 depending on where I shop. I find that most of the discount department stores where I mostly shop (Target, Kmart etc) have extreme vanity sizing so I'm not really sure what my true size is. I need to buy new jeans and I've been putting it off because I don't even know where…
  • Thanks for the suggestion but I have no intention of going vegan. I've been a vegetarian for 7 years and need to eat as low carb as I can because of my insulin resistance. I haven't been craving sweet things, it's been more of a mental compulsion. Like "hey there's a plate of muffins, I should eat 3 of them" not "hey I…
  • Thank you for sharing your story, it's very helpful to know that there are people who have gone through something similar and found their way to happiness. You're right that I expected weight loss to solve a lot of my problems and make me happy. I thought it would make me more confident and therefore help me make new…
  • I don't really think those things are relevant to this thread. I'm not trying to lose the 3kg I gained, I just want to get back on track with maintenance.
  • Thank you for your encouragement, you've given me a lot of food for thought. I like your suggestion of looking at old photos or remembering how I used to look, I definitely don't ever want to get back to that point. I actually lost the weight because I was diagnosed with PCOS and insulin resistance. The last time I saw my…
  • Thank you for all your suggestions! Any sort of weekly class or workshop would cost the same or more as a gym membership, if I could afford either right now I'd probably go for a gym membership so I could go to a few different classes. I have just started a free online language course, it only takes 10 minutes a day but I…
  • Thank you to everyone who has responded, it means a lot to me. I definitely need to get back to the doctor and get a new referral for a different psychologist. I've been seeing a new doctor because I moved but I think I'm going to head back to my old doctor who I prefer. I'm also going to do some research on psychologists…
  • I do exactly the same thing, but on Sunday afternoon not morning lol. I love cooking, but I don't like cleaning my kitchen every night and I don't like waste.
  • Someone with a specific health condition would most likely already know how to read nutrition labels and what products they can/can't eat though. It's definitely not a perfect system, I've noticed products with ratings higher than I would expect as well. But if it gets the average Australian thinking about their food…
  • String cheese or other packaged cheeses. I like to eat one wedge of the herb flavoured light laughing cow cheese all by itself as a small snack. I also like wrapping a kraft single around a pickle. Pre-weight loss days I used to just eat a bowl of melted cheddar cheese... I clearly am a big fan of cheese :) I wouldn't say…
  • I actually add mine before I microwave it. I only use a small amount of protein powder so maybe that's why it doesn't affect the texture too much? I like it, it kind of imitates milk without me actually adding any.
  • Well I live in Australia but I do most of my regular shopping at Aldi. When something I can't get at Aldi is on sale at one of our other big supermarkets (Coles or Woolworths), I'll go there and stock up. Aldi doesn't really have a lot of vegetarian options, they have one kind of tofu and that's it. I find the Aldi near me…
  • We sort of implemented a similar system here in Australia a few years ago. Most foods now come with a "health star rating" on the packaging. From their website: You can make healthier choices by using the Health Star Rating to compare the overall nutritional profile of packaged food products at-a-glance. Try these tips…
  • Do you eat meat substitutes? If so, you can cook just about any low carb meal and sub in a substitute meat for the real thing. You can also just do an equivalent of "meat and 3 veg" but avoid high carb veggies like potato. Right now I'm eating Taco Soup from Budget Bytes, but with Quorn mince instead of actual beef.…
  • Totally been there, just last month actually! With both my birthday and Easter being in March, I ate out a lot more than usual and overindulged on chocolate. There were days I logged in but didn't weigh/log anything and days where I was good up until around 9pm and then binged without logging. I also did the…
  • I lost just under 50lbs in about 6 months, and have been in maintenance for just over a year now :)
  • Seconding an earlier suggestion of checking out budgetbytes.com and making a meal plan. I'm only feeding myself but I do meal plan/prep to help cut costs and save time. All the recipes I've tried from budgetbytes have been really good, though the prices don't mean much to me as I'm in Australia. Just in general you'll find…
  • I find that pre-logging actually helps me fit in unexpected treats. Generally I plan out everything I'm going to eat Monday to Friday on Sunday night. I tend to eat smaller meals and lots of snacks throughout the day. I usually have something small at 2:30pm and then also at 3:30pm. If a delicious baked good enters my…
  • I echo @tomteboda's sentiments, I can't pick just one dessert. Sometimes I'll be eating one and think "yes, this is it!" Then I'll have the exact same thought while eating something else a few days later. If there's lemon tart or lemon meringue pie on the menu, I almost always go for that. I'm not a big fan of chocolate in…
  • Not many places post their nutritional info online here in Australia, even large chains, so I usually just guess. I prefer to find a similar meal that's already in the database and usually pick one that's higher in calories, just as an extra buffer. I find that easier than trying to guess every individual ingredient, since…
  • I love this recipe for salsa baked tofu!

  • I'm 5'4 and 105 pounds and I maintain on around 1530 calories. Pretty sure you could be eating way more!
  • 99% of the time when I'm on the elliptical, all I'm thinking about is when I can get off the damn thing. I play music in the background and sometimes watch tv/youtube. When I walk/run outside, I just listen to music. I don't think I could listen to a podcast as I use the beat to guide my pacing.
  • Go to a dermatologist and get checked for acanthosis nigricans. They can take a small sample and test it. Do you have dark patches anywhere else? Armpits and back of the neck are other common areas. I have it under my arms. Scrubbing and peels won't do anything if it is acanthosis nigricans.
