  • welcome! My number 1 suggestion is to not start off with so many changes and extremes that you set yourself up to fail. Don't try to go to extreme with eating too little and not eating any of the foods you like opting only for what you consider "diet food". again this can set up for binges and failure over time. set a…
  • agree with the above. 3 strawberries? 1 medium apple? 0.75 of a large egg? how do you eat 3/4 of an egg? use the food scale on all foods, search the database for entries with options to enter grams/oz. be specific on types of apples.
  • I mean if they won't even allow you to eat a small plate that is getting a bit ridiculous. This is a bit of rock and hard place scenario - feels there is no winning per say. Peer pressure to the max. I agree with trying to make that a carb day on your carb cycling (no clue if that is doable). eat a smaller portion, maybe…
  • Assuming you have only that to lose, it would be unwise to try and lose 7kg (15lb) in two months. that would mean a rate of loss of nearly 2lb/week which is only recommended for the obese (over 50+++lb to lose and then some). here are some links to get you started…
  • agree with above. jump stairs usually fizzle out completely as they are too hard to maintain.
  • Really depends. I am 5'1 and it took me about 15-16 months to go from around 176 to 110. faster at the first but those last 10lbs were pretty brutally slow. initially I exercised quite a bit. halfway thru I was limited to walking only.
  • so this post may be useless as you want no / low grains but two toasts in no way fill me up. But a portion of oversoaked steel cut oats? that works. Even better than quick cooking. I've tried a few things adn that is what works for me. But yes other eggs, eggs whites (either scrambled or little cups you can bake and prep…
  • there is often a quick water weight drop initially before things stabilize, very normal. I've lost all the weight i had planned plus an extra 10-15 and am now trying to transition into maintenance. Took me a bit over a year to lose 55 or so pounds (most of the time was on the last 15 though - those are very slow)
  • congrats on your loss, that's quick progress! MFP is designed to have you eat back your exercise calories. The calorie goal it gives you (based on your input of height, gender, weight, rate of loss and activity level) assumes NO purposeful exercise. so calories to eat to lose at the requested rate. Exercising increases the…
  • Don't log meals like that. log ingredients you use. You can either create a recipe for your scrambled eggs, or crate a meal of the ingredients for easy repeat. Log ingredients. 1 - log eggs. raw natural eggs. (based on calories on your eggs, or appropriate approximate). store bought eggs have bar codes often. 2 - Weigh the…
  • i know nothing about the science or even about IF. But yes I often feel warmer after eating. especially if that food was warm/spicey.
  • haha and here some of my posts get zero comments!
  • that is why I don't rely on motivation. It's fleeting. I rely on a plan, and slower rate of loss not relying on exercise i don't love to do and easy to integrate. While going "super healthy and clean" and "exercise a ton" feels great at first especially as you may see quick drops, it's hard to keep up over a long time when…
  • I think because your post reads as though you are saying we can't lose ANY weight without exercise.
  • Ohh!! I love the breyers choco it's one of my favs. the raspberrie was so-so. i haven't seen this one but will have to try when I do! I would have preferred chocolate ice cream though ;) Finally a product I may actually see in stores ;)
  • what about fruit makes you struggle? weight loss is about eating at a calorie deficit regularly over time. that is totally daoble while eating fruit.

  • what activity level did you select? Do you regularly get negative adjustments? When time of day did you update the fitbit to get the negative adjustment? Example: if i update my fitbit right now (it's lunch) i will get a negative adjustment cuz i've not done my steps for the day. I half half a day of steps to do!
  • I'm only going in and out to a very rural area for a day, so likely not much in the way of anything LOL!
  • Congrats! sounds like a great move, good on you for wanting to make this less painful and sticking to it. this is a long road so we need to find what works for us. better to pick somethign slower you can stick to, VS try to white knuckle and fall off the rails. don't forget to eat back your exercise calories when you do…
  • welcome! My number 1 suggestion is to not start off with too many changes and extremes that you set yourself up to fail. Here are some great posts to read to get you started: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/1080242/a-guide-to-get-you-started-on-your-path-to-sexypants/p1…
  • never mind just gonna point out it's a post from 2017.
  • how long have you been logging? If it's been less than 2 weeks it's too early to tell if it's working, things don't always happen immediately. Also if you have increased the exercise (or it is new) then your muscles may be retaining water to repair themselves masking weight loss temporarily…
  • Congrats on your success! For me it was over a year so it had to NOT rely on "motiviation". but rather a plan I could live with and reasonable rate of loss. I kept foods i enjoyed day to day, week to week. Going out was hard, I did it once in awhile (going to "maintenance" calories on that day). With 11kg left (that's…
  • i'll be searching for talenti's I think ;)
  • I WANT BOTH OF THESE! I have a trip to the US I need to note what stores are near the hotel and make a quick list :P
  • congrats on the upcoming wedding. When is the big day? i’d recommend toning/recomp VS weight loss personally. https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10177803/recomposition-maintaining-weight-while-losing-fat/p1
  • Echo all that was said here https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10753994/so-i-have-lost-no-weight-in-one-week/p1
  • weight loss is not linear. you won't lose the exact calculated amount daily/weekly. http://physiqonomics.com/the-weird-and-highly-annoying-world-of-scale-weight-and-fluctuations/
  • Agree with the above, i wouldn't add cardio to a busy day like that. at least not for a bit and only if you really wanted to exercise for the benefit of exercise (not for weight loss).
  • They clearly haven't seen my dinners during weight loss phase. Usually involves one large plate and a bowl (I eat a LOT of vegetables - big volume eater).
