  • Not a fad, just increased attention over the last few years. From Diet Doc: The ketogenic diet's origin dates back to the 1920s when doctors began using it to control seizures among patients with epilepsy. The history of the ketogetnic diet began with a nutritional plan made of carbohydrates (carbs), fat, and protein…
  • @Megan_smartiepants1970 - I don’t know which I like better: your username or your profile picture!!! And, giving up seems to be my superpower...... hoping this time it sticks. I’m traveling a lot for work over the next few weeks. It’s gonna be a *kitten* to stay on track. I gave up sugar in my coffee, and think that’s…
  • Hey Runrose! Good for you on the weight training; that’s awesome! I know I need to start, but for now, I’ll be in the corner gnawing on my Kerry Gold, lol. Baby steps. I know people that have done WW with great success. I don’t know that it would work for me, either though. Hope you find the answers to your sluggishness.…
  • I got used to subtracting fiber from my carbs from the beginning, so I don’t really worry about MFP tracking the net. Good luck on your keto journey! There’s so much (dis)information out there!
  • Girl, same. Good luck!
  • CW 161.2 GW 120.0 It's been a while since I've posted. Still practicing OMAD, and the weight is slowly coming off. Weight loss certainly isn't linear. I seem to establish a base-line each week, and then at some point during that week I'll drop below it. For a very long time it was 164.5, and then I'd hit 163 at some point…
  • Catching up this weekend..... ☺
  • CW 163.4 GW 120.0 Dropped another two pounds. I'm so, so, so happy that I made it through the holidays without gaining. Restarting my yoga practice, and am throwing in some cardo starting this weekend. If I could get out of the 160s, I'd really feel like I'm getting somewhere. I love OMAD!
  • Watched orientation this morning....ready to start tomorrow!
  • CW 165.4 GW 120.0 This weight fluctuation makes sense now: pms This post is probably better for the girls.....move along, guys. 51 years old, having a period every 3 to 4 months. I know I'm at the end of perimenopause and am transitioning, finally, and I'm so ready to be done. I wonder what transitioning does to hormones…
  • I read something that someone posted earlier that really struck me: Yoga meets you where you are." I just love that! I am going to remember that as I work through this 30 day challenge. Namaste!
  • *high five*
  • I love YWA and am taking the 30 day challenge. Are you? Namaste!
  • 2 TBSP of ACV would burn my throat...even diluted! I have to have it in very small doses. I used to take a shot each morning from a master mix: 4 cups water, 2 TBSP local honey (for allergies) 2 TBPS turmeric, 1 tsp cayenne, 1/4 cup ACV with mother and 1 tsp cream of tarter. I took it on an empty stomach and then drank…
  • Definitely ate below TDEE. I'm sure it's water weight today, as I'm up. Always fluctuating, it seems!
  • Thank you, Britt.....but today I'm 165.4. I know it's water weight. It comes and goes, but I'm keeping myself on track. OMAD is key, that's the answer for me.
  • @brittdee88. I don't know your story, and would never, ever pretend that I know what's best, but a week enjoying NYC with a couple of pounds and some water weight gained seems pretty normal. Water weight should fall off quickly and if you gained only a few real pounds while eating without restrictions, it's a victory!…
  • I agree.....I could not do a water fast without overdoing it afterward. I too am slow and steady.
  • CW 164.0 GW 120.0 No change in weight from yesterday. I'd hoped to drop some more since I'm so close to my lowest weight, but today is not the day. No gain, though, so I'll take it! TGIF and bye-bye 2017!
  • May I ask what "basic" OMAD is?
  • You've been quiet since you finished finals. All ok?
  • This is all really helpful. I appreciate that you're both taking the time to help educate me!!
  • CW 164.0 GW 120.0 Woooooooooohoo! Losses, two days in a row. I'm .2 pounds from my lowest weight. My BMI is 29.1, which is also down. I feel really good, and am super motivated. My husband has also been strict OMAD for a couple of days, and has dropped 2 pounds, too. Hoping that this holiday weekend goes as well as the…
  • CW 165.2 GW 120.0 The scale gave me lots of encouragement this morning. Happy to be back on OMAD, happier still to have gotten a little scale-love. I don't care if it's water weight, temporary or just a fluke....I'll take it. I had the world's biggest taco salad last night, and it was anything but low carb, which really is…
  • CW 166.6 GW 120.0 Whew! Made it through Christmas, through vacation, through parties and through the land of baked holiday goodies. I stopped OMAD because I just couldn't keep it going, but at the same time, I didn't consider it a license to eat, either. All in all, I'm not unhappy with my gain. I actually thought it would…
  • CW 165.6 GW 120.0 Oops! Kidding....I kind of suspected this, OMAD is just so much harder for me on the weekend. My husband and I have a tradition of going out for breakfast while we're running errands, and then we went out to dinner with friends last night. It's ok. KETO dinner tonight, hope NOT to end up out for…
  • CW 164.4 GW 120.0 OMAD is such an interesting way to eat. I find myself less and less hungry, but enjoying my one meal more than ever. That's pretty cool for a foodie. I bumped up .6 pounds and have stayed there for two days now. Thursday night...too many carbs/calories. Yesterday, I ate early in the day and ended up…
  • CW 163.8 GW 120.0 Holy cow hallelujah I lost more weight! I'm finding that too much creamy dairy results in an almost immediate stall. So, moderation, moderation. Onward, Susan.
