  • Hi thank you for your reply. I don't really do any exercise. I need to start but slowly as I have arthritis in my knees. This has however improved due to the weight loss. I cannot swim and would be too embarrassed to go and learn. So my aim it to start walking. Small journeys at first then build this up. Also I was going…
  • Hi thanks for your reply. I never thought of my weight lose as a percentage and 25% is enlightening. What you have said is spot on. No I haven't really given myself a formal diet break I will read up on this and maybe it will be what I need just now. I will however switch to MFP and not weigh myself too often. My first 2…

  • Thanks, I am drinking lots of water today. Also not eating many carbs. Don't feel very well after eating too much sugar. So today will be fresh salad and fruit, plus fish xx

  • Thanks will try and write down in a journal when emotions make me want to eat and what the cause of the emotions are. Its so hard to lose weight and so easy to put in on! Lots of people on here manage to get there. Just hope one day I am one of the success stories
  • I want to try and help myself. I have support from family and friends. Who would I go to for help for emotional eating? Have spoken in the past to doctors re being overweight but just told to try a slimming class and exercise Done both of those. But still cannot keep going long term
  • Yes I usually weigh and track foods. I know why I am gaining. Its due to eating too much. Just wanted some advise on how people keep on track when very stressed. Also if its possible to gain 7lbs in two weeks.
  • I rarely have a good nights sleep. Wake up many times. Sometimes cannot get to sleep until the early hours. Usually get to the point where I am exhausted then can occasionally have 10 hours.
  • Thank you so much for your advice everyone. I appreciate you taking the time to reply I am trying to be positive and will try my hardest to get back on plan I have been knitting for charities to take my mind off things. Because of the clot I cannot do much but a slow walk maybe ok. Will go back to my Slimming World class…
  • Hi I set my stats to sedentary because I have severe arthritis in my knees so do little walking and my job is in a office so sitting all day. I am not classed as disabled but I only do a small amount of physical activity so the nearest option for my stats is sedentary. I tried to input honest stats nearest to my situation…
  • Thanks for all the advise. I am in my fifties and due to medical issues cannot do much in the way of exercise. I thought 1200 was the lowest MFP would let you go so don't understand 1091 calorie given goal. I will keep at 1340 and see what happens. One pound a week will be good. Guess I want to lose a little quicker but…
  • Yes I chose 2lb per week, but with the amount of weight I have still to lose do not think its aggressive?

  • Hi, hope this doesn't appear harsh. Which do you want most? A lovely new baby to love and care for or to continue eating and remaining overweight It will be your husbands first child. Try to do this not just for your future health but the happiness for both you and your husband. You will all gain from you losing weight.…
  • I cannot do much exercise due to arthritis. But do try to walk a little. I am in the UK so don't know what dietbet is. I would rather save up my weekly Slimming World payments and use it on a nice treat. I will miss the people in the group but I have to do what is best for me.
  • Hi, I started at 312 pounds. Over a year in I am 60+ pounds down Motivation is difficult. I lost all motivation for 5 months. But it can be regained and you can restart. If you have a bad day, week or even month, put it behind you and restart again. Easy, no it's not. But keep going. My advise don't set a target weight.…
  • Thanks. I think by posting my question I have just about decided to start MFP again. The £5 a week I pay at Slimming World I will save up and use for a non food treat now and again. I will use the community to help motivate I need to move through this journey with strength and determination. It needs to be a way of life…
  • Thanks, I have checked and have 2lb a week loss recorded. Managed to change calories to 1340 per day Will see how it goes for a couple of weeks. If I am not losing will adjust calories or weekly goal. Wish I could do more exercise. Just to be able to walk without pain would be so wonderful. Restricted by arthritis. Just…
  • Thanks How do adust the calories back to 1340? Does anyone know?
  • Hi, I also have bad arthritic knees and find exercise difficult. Walking a little but pain during it. I have bought a mobility cycle which I find helpful. The cycle is used sitting down so no weight on the knees and you can also use it for the arms. Swimming is also good, however I don't do this because I am very big and…
