I would be a gajillionaire if I had $1 for every patient that has said that to me (or "I really eat very little... just steamed veggies, a little chicken, and a little rice..." Or the standard "thyroid problem" b.s.).

Sleeping --people who don't sleep enough don't have adequate levels of both ghrelin and leptin.

Bummer --I only saw this today. Would have loved to be in! Maybe next time I will see it!

Pure BS. No such thing as "thinning your blood." Why are ignorant people so eager to give advice???

1) No dates at home (not until at least the 5th date) 2) Time to read "He's Not That Into You." 3) There are awesome guys out there. Not give this one another thought.

Chemical imbalances affect your body *and* your mental state. There is no clear line separating physical and mental. Physical activity *and* meds (and prayer, by the way) have been shown to act on serotonin levels. ALL those things help. Let's be helpful and kind.

Exercise has been shown to have an effect similar to anti-depressant medication. It is powerful stuff. I would encourage you to go out (or stay in) and DO some physical activity. I promise it will help you feel better. I don't know about prayer, but it surely won't hurt. Medications have pros and cons --most…

I am a slow but stubborn marathon runner --I am hoping shedding some lbs will bring some of my speed back!

I am working on shedding some extra weight I gained thanks to a medication (ugh) last summer, I love smart, motivated, high-energy people that want to get fit! Please add me if the spirit moves you. I am a good listener when you want to rant or vent!

Depending on your height and energy expenditure, 1200 or below is perfectly adequate long term. This is not a forum to lecture on ideal long-term caloric intake (not to mention macronutrient balance, within that caloric intake). The question was "what's wrong with eating under 1200?" And the answer remains "nothing." I…

So far, the Charge HR seems perfect for what I want. The HR seems pretty accurate, except for my resting HR which is really a bit lower. But the rates shown for my easy, tempo, and hard runs seem accurate. I think you need to think about what you might use them for. I have no need for music control on my fitbit (I prefer…

a 400 calorie burn for 34 minutes is not too high. As a runner, I calculate about 100 calories per mile (assuming 10 minutes per mile, with is not a killer pace). So that would be about 300 for 30 minutes. The heavier you are, the bigger the calorie burn. So my guess is that you are probably burning that much!

Me, me, me! I need all the friends I can get --I promise to cheer, nag, support, commiserate, or whatever you need!

Happy to be added and I will add you all if that's ok!

what's going on? You can do it!

You need to adjust your calories as you lose weight. Simple: lower body mass requires fewer calories. I would also change your exercise routine --if you typically do just cardio, add strength training. Try HIIT. Mix it up. I would increase protein, reduce carbohydrates.
-
I need friends also. So many of my friends have stopped logging... Depressing.

Hi --This is my first time here, and I love the support and care you show one another! I hope to get to know you all better. I am 54 and I am generally quite active. I have gained about 20 lbs in the last year and I have finally decided to get serious about going back to my normal weight range. Ironically, weight loss is…

Drink it if you like it, but do NOT drink it to lose weight. It DOES NOT WORK as a weight loss supplement. Lots of research studies have shown this. Not even in super concentrated form (as capsules). Save your money. The sad truth remains that weight loss is about what (and how much) you eat and exercise. The magic bullet…
