You've written my story too! I'm a little older but feel exactly what you're going through. I will send you a friend request but the app has changed and I need to figure out how. You are not alone. I'm sure there are several others that have struggled too and together we can all succeed

Thank you all for your replies. Its overwhelming. I readjusted my goals to 0.5 lbs a week. I now have a whopping 1296 as a goal. That's the highest I can get no matter what I enter as a goal. I eat back some of my excercise as I don't trust the calorie count MFP gives me for that. Still feel hungry so often especially…

To answer everyone's questions, I am 5'1". I need to lose at least 50 lbs but 60 or 70 would be great too. I do weigh and measure food. Not my first rodeo. And I have to eat back my excercise. I tell people that I run just so I can eat. I seriously am so famished after running its hard to stay within the calories. I never…

Wow, I wish I had friends like you.

Hello Ian. totally understand what you are saying. Send a friend request if you want. We are in this together

After trying a local run club's learn to run program, which I tried 3 times unsuccessfully, I tried C25k. I just finished a couple weeks ago and I am so pleased with my success. I LOVE running now. I used the Zen labs. It offers a paid version as well, but not worth paying for it. The free version is just fine. Absolutely…

I just mix it with cashew milk first, then equal parts of that mix to oatmeal plus whatever you like in your oatmeal. If I add fruit I add it right before serving.

No reason not to try it. I use it to make pancakes, overnight oats, assorted baking, smoothies. There is a lot you can do with it, your not restricted to just a protein shake. I find it helps me meet my goals or even just fill me up.

Don't think of it as the water you need to drink but your intake of fluid. You need to take in 2500 mls/day and also need to put out the same as you take in. You will know if you are getting enough by the color of your pee. Should be straw yellow color. If its darker, you're not getting enough lighter is too much. Most…

Really tempted by the price of Garmin’s on Amazon. I had convinced myself I didn’t want/need a fancy one, but now that I am officially registered it would be a fun tool to have over the next few months and even the day of. Hmmmm... 🤔[/quote] I just got a Fenix 5s Plus. LOVE IT! I cannot imagine training without it. I also…

You will do awesome! My first sprint was a bit longer than that and If I can survive it anyone can. And I was not at all prepared so you are already that much farther ahead. And if you think of the name of the book...we all want to know!!

Upgraded to a fenix 5s plus Was a great deal. Only 50 bucks more than a FR245M/645M which were both the same price. Was concerned about size, I have tiny wrists, but it fits and feels fantastic so far. Never liked the old vivoactive HR for the fit and poor comfort. Looking forward to taking it for its first run!

Just joined the group. Have a new device arriving next week and would love to connect with other garmin users. Will probly need some tips and advice how to use all the features it has. I am upgrading a lot. Want to become a better runner and then some.

Allmax Hexapro b-day cake is supposed to be to die for. My local store however is constantly running out it's so popular. They also make a cookies and creme which my daughter loves. I don't care for sweet but I admit the flavor of that one is spot on.

Slow down??? Obviously none of you have ever ran with me. Seriously, walkers pass me on a steady basis. I knew about that carry on a conversation thing too. I am pretty sure I can although hard to test out when your alone. I tried joining a learn to run club but couldn't keep up with anyone in it so that's why I am doing…

You need to have approximately 500 more per day than you need for yourself. So 1700 would be the minimum you should get as you need a minimum of 1200 for yourself. You could calculate your caloric needs for a 1lb loss per week and add the 500 to that. It is possible you are actually eating too little for yourself but…

It's very hard to overdo walking. But, if it gets tough one day, then stop for the day. No one will judge you because you felt you needed to cut it short. You might find after a while there are days you want to go longer and that's ok too. I would suggest investing in a good pair of walking shoes though. Will help protect…

I used to work nights all the time. I set my meals into time slots. Midnight to 0600, 0600 to 1100 etc. My day was midnight to midnight just like any other day. It really doesnt matter what you eat when. Just the calories in your day.

Oh I definitely will. But the bike will be hanging in the garage until about May next year. I'll try get some spin classes in over the winter.

I love my instant pot. I am still learning how to use it, but I often just cook up a few chicken breasts in it and shred them to keep in the fridge to throw onto salads or into wraps. it does hard boiled eggs perfectly, another thing I just keep in the fridge for snacks and lunch box things. I steam veggies in it all the…

I Find running meditative too! I know the swim basics. My biggest difficulty is getting the breathing in sync. I am doing this at my lowest possible cost so joining lessons or a group is out right now. I've been watching you tube videos but that doesn't work so well at the pool. :p All my training will be indoors now until…

How common is it for triathlons to have cutoff times? I would be some upset to be on my first sprint triathlon and have someone tap me on the shoulder a km from the finish and say "Sorry honey, you're done. Better luck Next time" My goal was to finish on my own two feet and I did. Yes I was slow but I still came in ahead…

Cooking and eating has to be the loneliest activity there is. I do cook. I usually try cook and freeze left overs as meals for another day. Although, it's so much easier just to have toast for dinner. Honestly, if I weren't single, I'd probably eat so much healthier.

Tried sending you a message and friend request. App isn't letting me. I did a couple triathlons in 2017 and now want to do more. Easiest way to start is to sign up for one. Tell people you're gonna do it. Backing out after paying a fee and bragging to all your friends your doing this would be harder than actually running…

Snowing right now. I just want a big ol' pot of chili and some hot chocolate. Also just wanna curl up under a blanket with a book. Exercise? Today? But it's a snow day!

You Don't. You need to factor in your own diet that you need a minimum of 500 calories/day for baby. So, if you have set your calorie deficit to lose 2 lbs per week, and your calorie deficit is anything less than 1700-1800 calories you will not have enough minimum caloric intake to fuel both you and baby. (1200 calorie…

Welcome. Your short term goals are a smart idea. I am also on the job hunt and got into working out to pass the time. Has helped a lot with boredom eating and has other added benefits. :D

Aqua fit is a great no/low impact workout. If you do deep water, your feet never touch the floor of the pool so no impact at all to them. Swimming is also good, and you can use a snorkel if you need too. Water excercises will benefit your legs without the impact. Also look into yoga. There are many different types and some…

You're off to a great start! Ask your gym if they have workout "handouts". Mine offers written routines you can follow with a large variety so you can switch it up. Also check for drop in classes at the gym. Often that's included in your membership. You can also find a lot of different workouts on you tube. Learning the…

This is gonna sound really odd but.....get another dog. Putting two dogs on a coupler leash and they actually pull on each other that way and takes the stress off you. I notice a big difference when I walk my two together like that instead of one at a time. Often I can hardly tell they are there, but just walk one and I…
