  • Yesterday I ate a whole tub of Ben and Jerry's Half Baked AND an entire 200g bar of Cadbury's Dairy Milk Chip Ahoy chocolate. I stopped myself from eating anything else but I thought about it. I'm determined not to do that again. When I look at what I had and the fact that I considered more it's hard to avoid the word…
  • You are an awesome woman! The advice is probably keep doing what you're doing. It gets harder and harder to lose weight when there's less of it to go so don't be disheartened if your loss is slower now. As long as the scale goes down overall, you're doing brilliantly.
  • That page gives a few different numbers, make sure you're looking at the right ones. Also, if you struggle with the calorie amount start to exercise as it'll give you more to play with.
  • To clarify the outside perspective thing - i'm smaller now than I was as a teen. Healthier too. I don't have a perfect younger version of me to idealise like other people. I'm not perfect now but I'm better than I was so perhaps my benchmark is to never be teen-me again. :)
  • Firstly, I'm sorry you had someone so negative in your life but i am very glad you've got away from that. However, you also seem like you might be battling a lot of self-imposed negativity and don't sound like you have much belief in yourself. But you should because you've come such a long way. I personally believe that…
  • BUT, are they getting more toned? Also, maybe measure them because they probably are shrinking. It could be that you lose weight more easily elsewhere and it coming off your thighs will happen more slowly. Don't hate yourself for excellent thigh power!
  • I suffer from things like this caused by 2 different things - I get mild vertigo sometimes from lying flat and getting up and similar movements. I also get "head rushes" possibly from blood pooling in one part of my body doing reclined exercise, so i get up slowly too. As a result of these 2 things (and i know it's not…
  • Did you have an induction? You should have taken round by a member of staff and shown how to use everything (an insurance thing i think). If you're anxious about it the only thing that will fix it is to approach a staff member and ask for assistance - it's their job. The only other way would be to go along with a gym bunny…
  • I thought things like that were just for use for an evening, hidden under your clothes when you want to have a nice outline? Like support underwear or something? Either way it doesn't look appealing - spend your money on something more active and fun.
  • I wonder if maybe your brain hasn't caught up with you yet? Are you still seeing part of the you before you lost weight? If you can't get past this image of yourself maybe talk to a professional. And STOP COMPARING YOURSELF TO OTHERS! Keep being awesome OP, you should be proud of your achievement.
  • I have them from hitting puberty on my hips, thighs, and breasts but they're hardly visible (I like to think of them as fading to silver). I feel like they don't even make my list of body issues. My other half has them more extensively as he gained a lot of weight in his teens then lost it a year or two ago. But the ones…
  • I once had a friend try to argue that cows weren't natural but iPads were. Basically, he was trying to say that cows aren't natural because we bred them to have certain qualities and they no longer resemble a wild, original cow. Then he argued that iPads are natural because they are a a tool crafted by humans, thus a…
  • Plan your dinners as well so you know what you're making when you get in. If someone cooks or buys food try and get involved with it. If you're hungry while preparing food then make sure you have a snack you know is to plan.
  • Yes yes yes! I've learnt not to care what people MIGHT think when I'm out running, because guess what? I got up early to to go and do it and I'm proud because I'm actually trying. And when I see people out jogging, especially if it looks like they're struggling, I say to myself "bloody well done you. You've got this". And…
  • Totally agree with this. You could also say that for you having your version of living to your fullest and doing what you love is looking after your body. You could also say that eating sweets and cake all the time takes the enjoyment out of it somewhat, so restricting how often you have just makes you appreciate them…
  • Thanks guys!
  • I play Roller Derby and I can say for certain that that builds thighs and butts up while strengthening your core. Outdoor skating is good for thighs and legs too. However, I know it's not most people's cup of tea, but if you're looking for something different it's worth a shot.
  • Doesn't have a disclaimer on it anyway? Saying it's only a guide or something? Plus, from the looks of it it was accurate for you. 0.1lbs is like a glass of water or something.
  • I'm 5'4" and for now my target is 140lbs (10st). I'm built pretty solid though.
  • I feel you. I get why you put a disclaimer about venting too. Some people have a hard relationship with food that is difficult to explain or get out of. For those who haven't been that person it seems easy, but I believe me I get it. Don't let any accidental, implied, or deliberate negativity from this thread bring you…
  • Talk to him and see if you can resolve it. If that doesn't help then it's a massive red flag. Even if the conversation goes well and he stops putting you down, make sure you're losing the weight for the right reasons - not the comments that were being made. - Oh my, well done on the weight loss but you need to ask yourself…
  • 10lbs is not much weight at all so the first place to focus might be on yourself and why it's such a big deal. You're within a healthy weight range and if you're active and don't eat junk all the time then maybe accept this natural progression. If your lifestyle is unhealthy then make steps to make it better and watch the…
  • PANDEMIC! It's such a good board game. A co-op too, so no falling out if you're so inclined.
  • The lightest I've ever been was about 2 years ago, I was about 136lbs and a UK size 10/12. I'm 5'4" so really at that weight i was towards the top end of my BMI. People were really weirded out by my smaller size despite the fact that several of my friends were, and are still, slimmer than me. No one was used to a smaller…
  • Well, go for it then! There's no need to feel like they're not designed for you. Loads of places will give advice on what's best for your shape, age, etc, but as long as you are comfortable then it doesn't matter. If you feel the need to work up to it though go for a sheer kaftan and then when the fear disappears whip it…
  • I'll add you. I struggle but I'm keeping myself going with honesty and attempting exercise. I'm also a bit of a board lurker but didn't add anyone until recently when all my in-the-flesh friends kinda disappeared from MFP.
  • Joined it, thank you for pointing me in the right direction.
  • You called them trousers so I assume available in the UK? I get the USA Pro leggings from Sports Direct - they've got a thick waistband, come in a few different lengths, and are made from a good material. http://www.sportsdirect.com/usa-pro-panel-tights-ladies--347239?colcode=34723990
  • I know the Jawbone fitness trackers use an app which is supported by android and thus I assume usable on your Note. They've got several types as well - I got the cheapest, clip-on one (£40) which is enough for me right now and reasonably accurate i'd say. It syncs with MFP and load of other apps like Map My Fitness.
  • I've got the Jawbone Up Move which is the round one that clips on. I've found it to be pretty good, especially for a £40 price tag. It doesn't track roller skating (a bit niche for them i guess) and it didn't track my run the other day very well but i think i may need to calibrate it. It does hook up to loads of other apps…
