I was in a similar situation and I recently cut out drinking and it definitely helped with weight loss. @MikePTY has basically said the same (just speaking from my experience).. First, I'm sure I always drank more calories than I'd think. Second, I would always eat after drinking (usually carbs or unhealthy), and probably…

Definitely quite a few times. I find a lot of it for me, was circumstantial. Usually I had or goal of some sort. For example, a competition, event, etc.. Although this time, I was tired of feeling crappy, and just decided to focus on myself. I hope, OP, you find what clicks for you. As I've heard many say before, try and…

Yes! Tea addict here! No or low calorie is great, since I don't usually put anything in them. Old faves; Bigelow Constant Comment And Vanilla Chai Twinings Chai or most brands Most black teas and regular green teas!

Apples are a good pick for me since they help me get the sweet crunch and keep me filling full for a bit. Fage yogurt also has some options that I like that do the same. :) I've been known to house some cookies, because two just doesn't cut it sometimes. :#

You said two things that matter; I'm very proud of myself. I do look a lot better. There will ALWAYS be critics out there, no matter what you weigh, how you look, or dress (Many of them are insecure themselves, which is why they make comments about others). Even when it does bother you, try to focus on those positives…

Happy Halloween!! Today I had a few itches to get some drinks... but I didn't give in. :persevere: Sray safe everyone!

Self awareness can be eye opening, upsetting, rewarding, scary, and encouraging. You sound like you know a lot about yourself already. Confidence is one thing, self esteem and self worth are another. If you don't have those already, then you should! Just from reading your post it sounds like you have done amazing things…

@mainelylisa I like that version better! @JenT304 Cigarettes used to be glamorized also, until we realized how dangerous they are. Can you imagine if the sign had "cigarette" in its place? Alcohol can cause devastating health conditions leading to death, and with DWIs added in, it seems just as dangerous to me. :/

Having those off days makes us human! There are days when I go waaay over my calorie consumption. I try to focus on the fact that I feel better when I eat or drink better, or I'll do an extra workout to compensate for the snacks I had. If I ate it, I have to negate it. :p Having that Halloween candy in the house doesn't…

Self realization is key. It seems you have that, so you are stronger than you are giving yourself credit for. I've had many of those days thinking I could just drink one night and be fine the rest of the week, but then it makes every other day harder to abstain. (At least for me) I was rewatching the Hunger Games movies…

This was me!! Moderation for me would be trying to only buy alcohol on my night off. The amount was irrelevant, since I consumed for the buzz. Otherwise, why bother having any? I'd like to get into running again, but I always hated it as well! :D @RubyRed427 So glad you had a great weekend! I've been trying to get into…

I've been meaning to respond but every time I start I have to walk away and then the message clears :anguished: @whitpauly and @RubyRed427 touching on what you both said earlier.. I heard someone say (I think it was on MFP somewhere).. Comparison is a thief of joy, in many cases. Sometimes we use it as an excuse or a…

I can't have it in the house either, like certain foods. If I buy it, I'll drink it. It won't just sit there untouched. :/ I could probably go out and have a drink, just can't bring it home.

I like to settle down with a book. I always found myself rereading chapters, since I was reading them with an alcoholic beverage in hand. Now, tea is my drink of choice with my books, and I can recall what I've read the next day!

@salleewins great job on 9 months!! ((Hugs))

@JenT304 I hope your blood work comes back OK too! I recall having to retake a test or two because of drinking the night before. :/ All the temptation everywhere with the holidays sure is tough. :persevere: I almost considered having a drink on Halloween. Instead, I keep reminding myself of all the negatives that come with…

@RubyRed427 glad the car will be fixed soon.. hopefully it goes smoothly I've read articles on addiction and how it rewires the chemical reactions in the brain. Very interesting stuff! @joha5603 binge watching a show sounds like some good "you" time! And it's always nice to wake up FOG FREE! o:)

I don't consume artificial sweeteners often. Yet on the rare occasion I do, I have noticed an urgency issue along with urination.

Nice job!! Hope each day gets easier, and you feel better overall.

Getting burned out is one thing... Having a free day to enjoy a dinner and/or dessert is another.

Yes. Ignore.

I hope it gets easier for everyone sooner than later.. ((hugs))

I didn't mean that negatively towards anyone. Just trying to make light of the sentence debate. :/

Good luck! No matter how many times.. keep striving to better yourself! :)
