I've been dealing with the same. For me I really had to sit down and figure out WHY I was doing that. I have a lot going on in my life right now and I needed some time to figure out what I needed to do in order to address it (cut myself some slack, figure out a schedule that would work best, etc). Today I'm making a plan…

Couldn't have said it better myself - two thumbs up.

The numbers you get from MPF or from the machines you use are usually quite inflated. What a lot of people do is they eat back only half of the calories MPF or the machines tell them they have burned.

Don't worry too much about "healthy/unhealthy" for now - just make sure you stay within your calories. If something you eat makes you want to eat more then don't eat it of course but other than that just focus on eating the amount of calories you have available to you. Using a scale will be extremely helpful.

Duh! Yes, that's a great question AND what does his pediatrician say?

Well, weight control mainly has to do with diet rather than exercise. Obviously he needs to be active but unless he's involved in a sport where he is practicing a lot and has games, he will most likely not be active enough to burn off the excess calories that he is eating. My question is, other than getting rid of the…

What the what?!?!?! OMG!!! I can't even ...

I tried IF for about a week - I actually liked it a lot and it did make it easier to stick to my calories for the end of the day. I ended up giving it up because even though I've heard a few first hand experiences of women who have done IF and have been able to maintain their fertility and have even gotten pregnant while…

I'm so glad to hear that your kidney function is fine and that they were able to pinpoint the reason for your water retention. Hope you feel better!

Great job!!!

I'm glad you didn't wait to contact your doctor. Good luck!

Considering your health issues I don't think anyone on here will be able to really give you some sort of insight as to what may be going on. Water weight, extra sodium, broken scale will be the only things any of us will be able to say "maybe it's this". Like @lemonsnowdrop said, you would have to consume a crazy amount of…

You can definitely do it!! Just focus on small changes and don't deprive yourself thinking that's what you need to do in order to be successful. What has helped me has been to focus on portion control instead of "I have to eat 'healthy'" - you can eat anything in moderation. If you find that you have a hard time sticking…

I agree with everyone ... I like breakfast on the weekends because I can sit down and enjoy it with my family but on weekdays I just pack a few snacks the night before and if I feel like eating or I get hungry then I have a few things available but I never have a proper (or even a slightly proper) breakfast.

If you go to the main page in forums you will see the heading "Success Stories" - read through them. They are motivating and you might find someone with similar issues or health issues that they were able to deal with and still manage to lose weight. Again, in the end it's all up to you - you CAN do it but you have to…

Giving up or not giving up will have nothing to do with what others have said but with a decision you are making. If you want a boost that it can be done (which it can) I suggest going to the Success Stories page and read through those stories. I'm not quite sure what type of support and help you are looking for in regards…

I find it extremely helpful to read the success stories - most follow the simple concept of eating at a deficit. I have lost 15 lbs since January and I can honestly say I have not once felt deprived because I am realizing that I don't want to give up any food - the idea of adjusting how much I eat is a lot more appealing…

I like you

You're laughable

Isn't he though? Also, I really wish people knew how to hashtag properly OR has the hashtag now taken the place of "no offense but ..." right before you say something offensive?

It's pretty much impossible to have an ugh-status day if "What Does the Fox Say?" is playing!
-
I'm with @scottacular - 2 cookies and a piece of chocolate as a "cheat day" sound pretty sad  but if that made you feel better and you were still at a deficit then good for you!!! As for stress relief ... Sex  , singing, massage, mani/pedi, Netflix, just generally vegging out (I know you said you'd been busy…

I originally set my profile to lose 2 lbs per week and it gave me 1200 calories (I'm 5'5" and SW was 235). I was able to manage the 1200 and I wasn't really hungry BUT the foods I was eating, although fit my calories and I was satisfied in regards to hunger, I wasn't enjoying them because sometimes I wanted something yummy…

You totally MFP'd wrong!! Whatever your stance, that my friend, should be the hill you die on. If people come at you with "facts" or provide you with the "correct information" you need to dismiss it and then point in the other direction and yell "SQUIRREL!" THAT is how it's done.

It's totally my favorite (frozen of course!) and I'm definitely getting one!

I find it interesting that in the world where the sugar-bashing people live everything is full size. If you say you ate a Snickers bar it was probably the king size Snickers, if you had ice cream you must have had the whole pint. At the end of the day it's their own inability to eat certain foods in moderation. If you were…

So will you be counting calories but getting weighed at the meetings? Or will you be doing both? Again, I'm just curious  don't want you to think I'm like questioning because I'm judging it's just that they can be vastly different considering that fruits and vegetables are "free" on WW so just wondering how that…
-
Just a question - why would you do WW and MFP?

Personally, I just log it and move on. If you can do some exercise and try to burn some calories go for it but don't stress about it too much. Make sure you stick to your calories for the rest of the week and continue to exercise as you normally would. The scale may go up, it may go down or it may stay the same but don't…
