I have never gotten into yoga, but in reading your posts, I like the idea of shorter intervals. I have a bit of a bad back and I know my core strength is weaker than it could be. Short yoga intervals might be something for me that won't take a lot of time and will build up my core strength.

It's great that you are aware that it will be a challenge. Do you have a plan to make your own meals full? Drinking a glass of water before your meal? Fixing a nice big salad to go with the main dish? Looking forward to an update on how you do. You've got this!

You did a great job! WTG!

I am down 2 lbs today. Can I hear a Whoo Hoo!?!?!?! :D

Awesome advice. I started walking with my do last summer and found that once I got going, I enjoyed it and started lengthening my walks. It was really a matter of just getting started. And it did make a difference. I didn't get so out of breath. I felt more limber and had more energy. I used to do Zumba with friends and…

Love Margaritas and Mojitos, maybe we need a "skinny" version?

I find the same thing. My husband is currently working an opposite shift and my daughter is working more lately. One of my goals this year is to get at the root of my bad eating habits, regardless of how my schedule changes or who is home eating with me. I also need to make better choices when eating out.

I am sorry for the loss of your mom. Don't forget to make that commitment to getting healthy for yourself too. Grieving is hard work and it's necessary. Take it a step at a time. One positive step leads to another! You can do it!

Good morning Shorties! I just weighed in and taking it one day at a time. Are you logging your food and getting exercise? And where is everyone from? I live in east central IL.
-
Who all logged food and exercised yesterday? Me.........yeah me! Did you?

This sounds like a great group! I do better when the group I'm in stays positive. My oldest son asked me why my driver's license says I'm 5'1"? I told him because I'm a tiny bit over 5' and I rounded up, LOL! I, too, have been on the weight rollercoaster for years. I have blamed it on various life stages and changes. It's…

I don't have time to read back all the posts, but I am thinking about all those having struggles. Laura in Chicago, welcome-I'm in Minnesota now, but I lived in that area my whole life and am back there often. Going back this weekend, in fact. I have been in MN for a month now and am down 3 lbs, the lowest I've been in a…

Oh, boy, I blew it yesterday. Just ate too much. I worked at a trade show and there was just nothing healthy to eat. Then I was starving after so we went out to eat and I never thought a restaurant could make a bad salad, but this one sure did! I need to plan better. Really need to get more exercise and set some goals!…

We have a lot of Janets in this group! Trying to get acquainted a bit at a time. Janet OKC, I also thought it was a stripper pole at first! LOL Love the pants-you are a fashionista and you do look skinny. Gayle, the GD is so cute! JanetMMcC I am as much an accidental writer as an accidental advocate and they both happened…

Welcome Ina! My weight is about the same, so I measured and found I have lost inches. And I was really tired last night but worked out anyway. Hoping I do better with the upcoming weekend with DH home. Have a great day, ladies! Toni in MN

We tried the Buffalo Cauliflower this evening for dinner and both liked it a lot! Very few calories, so this one is a keeper. Used light Ranch dressing as a dipper. Toni in MN I lived in the Chicago area all of my life and have only been in MN for 3 weeks. I keep forgetting I'm a MN girl!

My scale is up somewhere between an half lb and one lb, but I find that when I get back to my exercise routine after a long hiatus that happens. I am eating right and back to daily exercise, so I am not worried. I am up early and working on some free lance writing jobs. I plugged a workout into the mid-day schedule and…

Happy Anniversary, Gayle. When we first got married, the pastor told us if we could make it 25 years, the odds of staying together would finally be in our favor. It will be 28 yrs for us in Sept. Pip, try to rest and keep us posted on your injury. I looked up a recipe for raitha as I'd not heard of it either. It sounds…

Thank you all for the warm welcome and kind words. I have to break some bad habits-namely that I do well through the week and blow it on the weekend. And that is how the pounds creeped up 1-2 lbs a week. I did very well this weekend until last night. I are well all day, then we went to a Ribfest where some bands where…

Miriam, I have 2 son with mental health issues, so we have something in common. Mary in MN-have fun in Vegas. You know what they say, "whatever happens in Vegas...." lol We'll try to get together when you get back. I don't know anyone at all in MN, so some friends would be nice. I logged all of my food yesterday and drank…

Yes, I am a writer. I published my first book in 2010. It is called "Second Time Foster Child" and you can get it on Amazon if you are interested. It's non-fiction--due to a pretty horrendous situation that the state of IL put us through, and it's something that netted some law changes and a congressional award for me. I…

Colleen, I hate the first week of a restart as well! And yep! That is where I am as well. We have a lot of life changes going on, but I think I am settled and ready to work on me again. I was looking for a group of ladies about my age for motivation and weight loss companionship, accountability partners. I am from north of…
