I don't think of this as "a diet"; those normally either fail or the weight comes back after. I'm using the counter more to help remind me to be more conscience about what I'm eating, how much, and to help me be more active.

I try setting aside a single day I'm allowed to indulge (have been doing Sunday) The rest of the week, I try to stick to natural sugar in fruits

I have a bad habit of going over slightly each day. IMHO, counting the calories is more about being more thoughtful about what you're eating, and reminding you to not only intake less if possible, but also to be more active when you can.

I don't consider this "a diet". For me, it's been more about changing the way I look at eating and paying more attention to being active. The calorie counting is more just helping me remember not to slip into old/bad habits if I can avoid it.
