When I log in my McDonalds Large Black coffee our app lists it as having 2 grams of protein??? How can that be? Error in system?

I actually switched to black coffee a few years ago after seeing just how many calories the creamers/etc added

I'm just wondering where the protein is coming from in a black coffee or if it's an error in the app.

It's not an error in the app - it's an error in the entry that you chose. All of the entries are put in by members and sometimes people make mistakes. Look for an entry that has no protein and use that one instead.

Just a follow up. Does that mean that the nutritional/caloric and data of all entries are only as accurate as the knowledge of the members who enter it?

Yeah....I have a problem with that too. I always look for the green checkmark, showing it's "verified" by MFP, but I have even found some of those to have errors.

In the end, we just all do our best.

I try to check what I log with the packaging whenever possible.
If necessary, I just add the item myself.
I once logged a single glass of wine that someone had entered around 2000 calories!

Thanks for the feedback. I use the bar code scanning feature as often as I can which is incredibly cool and helpful. Also google search anything questionable as to nutrition and am able to get what I believe is accurate info. At least it seems to make sense for me. Thanks again!

Also... turns out based upon my research there is trace amounts of protein in coffee. Very cool!
