Change, stress, and even joy are triggers for me. (Something bad happened? Better eat chocolate. Something good happened? Yay! Let's celebrate with chocolate! Sigh). I grew up using sweet food as a crutch - had a very dysfunctional childhood and the habits just carried into adulthood. It's at its most dangerous when I just…

Yes..that's my dilemna...I may even have to go to counselling I think...

My last 'curse' is just ending - I've just failed miserably at any semblance of craving control. I ate my normal deficit meals and then ate snacks and chocolate up to and probably over maintenance. Haven't gained anything, thank god, but ugh. My last period was better - this one I was just 'to hell with it' and stuffed my…

Could I have an invite also?

I just don't see it happening. I hope I'm wrong.

I've been in an abusive relationship before - he manipulated me at every turn, separated me from my friends and reduced my self-esteem to nothing. It took going to counselling, and a couple of aborted attempts, to leave. Things came to a head when he held me down with a piece of broken china to my throat, then proceeded to…

Fantastic - that must feel amazing!!!

Somehow I don't see this happening.

Don't even bother with the scales - a few days before, and the whole time during. Just stick to the plan, and then weigh after it's all over. Your peace of mind will thank you for it.

Greek yogurt, toast and fruit. Or greek yogurt, muesli (oats, chia, LSA etc - make my own so I know what's in it and cut out sugar) with milk. Those are my two breakfasts and usually keep me going till lunch.

Fantastic motivation - this is what it's all about: a new lease on life. :)

I container garden - I live in New Zealand, and I have a beautiful lemon tree in a container (has scale at present, really have to sort it out). I have a bunch of other things - flowers, herbs and veges. I've grown cauliflowers and tomatoes in pots, with varying success. Tomatoes were amazing this year. Feel free to add if…

I bought belts yesterday!! I haven't been able to wear belts for 4 years or so. Admittedly, I'm in that awkward stage where standing up I really, really need a belt as my jeans slide down but sitting it's just a wee bit uncomfortable. More motivation to lose the next couple of kgs. Also - my favourite shorts fit again.…

It's a learning process - I'm reasonably new to this too, and I've learned a lot simply by reading the forums. And it really works if you record everything as accurately as possible. I can get frustrated sometimes when I have to weigh every..single..little..thing (not a patient person). But 6 kgs in 7 weeks lost (13 pounds…

Yeah...this...

That's so wonderful!!!! You look so happy - well done. :) :)

I have bad periods myself. I've been doing mfp for only 2 months, and thus had 2 periods. My circumstances are slightly influenced by a medical condition - mainly in abeyance now, but can be exacerbated by my period. I'm very kind to myself over this period - I retain a lot of water and my weight leaps up. I stop weighing…

I walk in my 15 minutes breaks - I walk 25 minutes to public transport twice a day. I get 10k steps on those days usually, including additional steps walking around office/home. I go for long walks (hour plus) in the weekend to get to 10k, otherwise I don't get much at all. A fitbit/pedometer will help monitor it for you.

Protein....

I have the flex - it's perfect for me because my main exercise activity thus far is walking. I also love the sleep tracker element to it also.

I have a feeling you're not married...or perhaps just don't understand that this likely isn't a good motivator, but more like an accusation...
-
That was just lovely to read. Thanks for that.

Nope. I have a small ice cream each night for dessert. Sometimes I have a bread roll with dinner. It's within my deficit and I'm losing steadily. Like others have said, weight fluctuates regularly.

Well done! That's a life-changing, impressive achievement. I hope it feels wonderful to have your health restoring...

Thanks so much for this! I was silly and put in what I ~thought~ I was before getting scales. I'm so happy to be able to change this.

That's fantastic - it's surprising what you can achieve sometimes. Now that you've done it once, I'm sure it won't be the last time!
