Open faced tuna sandwich. Empty drained can of tuna right onto a sandwich thin, season tuna with salt and pepper, and toast in toaster oven. Surprisingly good! (I mean, considering the tuna is somewhat plain)

After you add the cottage cheese and salsa, do you heat it through?

Did you happen to also take a multivitamin? Whenever I make mistake of swallowing a multivitamin on an empty stomach (or lightly filled stomach) it makes me throw up, in exact same way you're describing. No cramping, pain, nausea, just blechhh. Also when I'm pregnant.

That's crazy that your doctor said "you're getting old". Sheesh. Good luck with your physical therapy. When I read your post I thought for sure it was surgery related. I didn't think diastasis, but rather, digestive, based on your comment on being bloated. But I'm glad you got an answer. I did physical therapy for…

All I meant by my comment is that the medical field isn't going to fund any sort of "healthy diet and lifestyle" research because there's no prospect for pharmaceutical production at the other end of it. I guess I didn't word my first comment very clearly. So many woos!

When there are zero scientific studies showing one thing or another, all that means is no one has funded that study. The only reason studies are funded is to make money somehow. So, it makes sense that no one would study people stopping sugar cold turkey, because who would make money from that? Vegetable farmers? Haha! I…

I'm in no place to give advice, because I'm the exact same way, but I've read here in forums that salt can be beneficial if you're feeling low energy. Also, I find that sometimes a snack with fat (i.e. Buttered toast or a fried egg) can help with satiety, so I don't go chasing that binge.

Raw Produce is a great fighter of fatigue (for me).

I don't know what my hip pain is, I haven't seen a doc, but stretching really really alleviates the pain. Have you tried stretching?

Personally, I don't log it. But if you want to, you can "create exercise" and log breast milk production that way. Search online to find stats to enter to reflect calories burned while producing breast milk.

This post worded clumsily, but actually the point about a multivitamin is very true! I can't speak for men, but for women, I've heard that sometimes cravings indicate some sort of deficiency in your diet. Have any of you heard this? For example, craving ice cream, may mean your body needs calcium, etc. I wonder how true it…

I'm certainly struggling, too, so feel silly to try to help. But staying busy is one strategy. Tackle a big cleaning or organizing project? Start an ambitious meal prep for dinner? Go for a walk? Drink herbal tea? These have worked for me. Good luck!

I toast sandwiches frequently at home. I like them better hot, too. I will often put a can of tuna on a slice of bread, a thick slice of fresh mozzarella cheese on top, close it up and toast it. Surprisingly satisfying and delicious. Also, I've tried sandwiches cheese free, just lean meats and spinach stuffed in, that's so…

@wizzybeth That is a unique problem, not getting enough fat! Are you a vegetarian, by chance? I am not. I found it hard to meet my protein goal without going WAY over fat goal at beginning of my weight loss journey. I guess I shouldn't assume everyone has the same issue. But anyways, that's why I recommended non fat…

Non fat Greek yogurt has been a life saver for me as a snack in beginning of my weight loss journey. Stock up enough for one or two servings a day.

Ok I stand corrected. I should have said "every receive I've ever seen." Obviously I haven't seen all recipes. Haha! Also I know nothing of the tomato language you speak. It's cool! But I buy tomatoes at the grocery store. Hopefully I can someday be exposed to other tomatoes!

I have to chime in here... I disagree. I've made homemade marinara sauce loads of times before, if you don't add sugar it's super acidic! I happen to like the acidic flavor, so i choose sugar-free option, but there's no freaking way store bought doesn't add significant sugar to make it taste as mild as it does! Every…

Hi! I agree with the people who posted helpful posts with tips that OP asked for. I find that not even starting (i.e., not a sliver) helps me not go overboard. In addition to that, following meals with fruit and ending day with herbal tea are strangely satisfying choices. Finally, treating myself to something with higher…

I've reheated lasagna by defrosting it on the counter and then microwaving individual servings in a covered (but cracked) microwave safe dish. I find reheating in oven will dry out already cooked lasagna. Good luck!

It's really hard to eat smart when away from home! I totally understand! Also it's hard for me to stay hydrated, and I always eat too much when I'm thirsty! I second the suggestion of a sandwich. I'd also bring a couple Greek yogurt cups. Even though we store them in fridge, I find them totally palatable at room…

I read every single post (except the really long ones), because this topic is so interesting! I agree with you all! Jerry's post especially interesting, I'll check out that story! I just wanted to chime in with my take (having never taken pain meds), is it possible that the pain meds dull emotional pain as well as…

Sugar and caffeine is my initial reaction to this story, knowing absolutely nothing about it.

Breakfast: toast and egg Lunch: quinoa and Black Forest ham Dinner: empanadas and salad Snacks: apple, orange and yogurt

"French Women don't get fat", and her sequel "a food for all seasons" or something like that. Also loved "get the sugar out", though purely for its eye-opening value. I still eat sugar.

I agree with OP that there are more options that are healthier nowadays. A good treat, on a rare occasion! P.S. Have you all enjoyed Jim gaffigan's stand up bit on McDonald's? Some very funny stuff!!!!

I agree with those who say "seek help". My limited experience tells me it goes beyond "everything in moderation." I began binge eating at age 11 or 12. It's so clearly related to hormones for me. But the depression is also related to hormones (for me), and it's all a vicious cycle. The shame involved makes it even a…

"Weighed it out of curiosity and 4 slices is just under 2 ounces, and i realized i had been putting more cals down then needed." That's a great example of why indeed food should be weighed!

" I think it also depends how close to goal you are, and how lean you are - as your deficit becomes smaller, accuracy is more important as you could easily wipe out a small deficit by eyeballing food" I see a theme here... looks like it's been successful for me so far because I'm at beginning of my weight loss journey. My…
