Also, I know it's a huge pain in the butt, but some of the stuff entered into MFP is huuuugely inaccurate. The first time you enter a food Google search it (for example "chicken calories", choose the correct type and quantity, and make sure the nutritional information listed there is the same as the nutritional information…

Champagne is my favorite - the healthiest thing about it is that it's so effing expensive you can't drink too much. ;)

Good luck! I bet you'll be a great inspiration to your daughter. :) Never give up.

If it's happening several times a week, cut down the frequency - but don't cut it out completely. Even people who've never had an extra ounce of fat on their body in their lives overeat sometimes. It's part of life. Just add an extra 30 minutes of exercise the next few times you work out, try to walk a little more, and/or…

There is no such thing as "bad food" unless it's filled with poison. As long as you eat everything, including junk, in moderation it isn't going to hurt you. No matter what the new-agey-fad-diet-steamed-broccoli-and-chicken-breast-for-every-dinner people might say. :P

We have no idea, hahaha. Talk about disorganized. It's a while off yet, though we have a trip to Okinawa coming up in May... meaning beaches and bikinis in the near future for me too! I took up distance running last year, which has stopped my weight from going up, but now it's just kind of sitting around 130lbs (I'm only…

I'm getting married, but I'm not having a wedding (maybe some kind of little party?)... but I'm still looking to slim down, just for me. :) I'm trying to lose the last stubborn 10lbs, and I'd be happy to be one of your accountability buddies! (And congratulations, btw!)

Recently I've really gotten into "dessert" smoothies. I made a "carrot cake" smoothie the other day: 1 carrot, 1 banana, 1tbsp maple syrup, 1 cup almond milk, 1/2 cup greek yogurt and some ginger, nutmeg and cinnamon. It was really good! Obviously the texture is all different, but the flavor was surprisingly similar?…

100% agreed. Saying, "If she didn't want it, then why didn't she fight back?" is like saying, "If that person didn't want to get hit by a truck, why did they freeze in front of it in the middle of the road?" Honestly, someone needs to take a case against that truck stop for just letting that stuff happen. Their attitude…

I.... guess it counts loosely as "activity", if your daily calories are set to your RMR and you're logging absolutely everything you do..........????? I mean, you're burning more calories than if you were sitting on your butt. Though it's still kind of a stretch. Or maybe the people on your feed are doing squats with 20lb…

Do you peel the apple first, or blend it with the skin? :)

Sure, go ahead. Just don't think too much of it if you're on your period and you've gone up a bit. If you record your weight every week then you may eventually start to see a pattern of how much you gain around that time and how much you lose after it.

Ugh, thought I'd check in, but my fiance broke his scale and then put mine in a sealed box for when we move house in 3 months. I have NO idea what I currently weigh rofl. I've been such a good girl though...

How is it going OP? :) Don't worry too much, you don't actually have to run for 20 minutes straight until the end of week 5 (and even then, you can repeat weeks if you want). I started it last year in March, and now the furthest distance/longest time I've run is 15km in about an hour and 30 minutes. My fastest 5k is 26…

After I found the Zombies, Run! app I finally started running and I haven't stopped. As a habit, I mean. I haven't been running non-stop for 6 months. That would be ludicrous. But really, gameifying exercise really helped me. Oh yeah, also - going straight into exercise after getting home (from work, or otherwise). I bike…

My fiance does this too. I have to tell him, "Take off your jeans/you just ate/you haven't used the bathroom" etc. every time. He's getting better, but he'll still weigh himself after a day or two of work parties and heavy sodium intake and complain about how fat he's gotten. :| It's taking a long time to hammer in the…

Not a good replacement for pasta. Excellent in the Asian dishes they're meant to go in! Just remember to rinse because they have that fishy smell.

So, I'm a little bit in love with Zombies, Run! I wish I'd known they had a C25K app before I completed my boring, regular C25K program (and by 'completed' I mean, I got to the end of week 5, got bored, started the Zombies, Run! app and went straight from the last C25K 20 minute run to completing a 40 minute run). That was…

I guess I'll join too. :) I'll keep it small, because I'm only 9lbs from my UGW, so it's gotta come off slow to avoid muscle loss. CW: 130lbs GW: 127lbs

I'd be happy to be a mentor! I live in Japan. In 2011 I started at 176lbs (80kg) at age 22. I lost about 30lbs in about 4 months, and I've kept it off for 4 years. To date, I've lost a total of 46lbs (21kg) and I'm working fitness now. I enjoy (like, actually enjoy!) running, walking and cycling. I do some light strength…

My goal is to be able to run a sub two hour half marathon by October next year! I went from running 0k to 15k in 2015, so presumably I'll hit 21k in early 2016 (possible injuries etc. withstanding...). So it'll just be speed work from there. Seems doable, I think?

Hey, I suffered from COED as a teen and child, then from EDNOS/bulimia for about a year and a half in my early 20's before pulling myself out of it. I didn't go to a therapist - I live in Japan, so that was out of the question. Anyway, first I did what you did and got myself into a healthier mindset about eating -…

I always have at least one day on the weekend (sometimes both days) when I don’t count calories. I don't go in planning to eat a lot/unhealthily, but it’s better for my mental health if I’m not being obsessive or worrying all the time. I’ll be doing so on Christmas too. I’m not going to binge myself sick, but I will likely…

What an amazing loss!! Also, LOVING your style in those last few pictures. That hair and outfit is awesomeee. You look like such a fun person!

Thank you! Fitness and physical health are wonderful, but I'd say the improvement in my mental health is my greatest success. It's not easy to find eating disorder specialists in Japan, so I'm proud (and very lucky) to be able to say I got through it by myself. Walking is probably the most wonderful and kindest exercise…

Thanks! I really enjoyed cycling for the first two and a bit years (2011-2013) but it took me a while to get obsessed with anything like I have with running this year. I used to hate it! So I expect your "This is it!" exercise is out there, somewhere. :)

I've joined the Zombies, Run! virtual race in March/April and I can't wait! My goal is to improve my 10K time by then, and hopefully with that, strength training and healthy eating, my body composition with improve on its own. :)
-
You look like an entirely different person! Fantastic!

All my life I could run a grand total of 100 metres before getting out of breath and quitting. Thanks to C25K getting me started, I can now run 10K in under an hour (and 5K in about 26 to 28 minutes?). My advice is to do the program, and don't give up (unless you're injured), repeating any day that was particularly…

Amazing. Some people reach a high weight, tell themselves it's too late for them, and eventually let it kill them. And you may still have some way to go, like you say, but it's only 27lbs to go until you've lost half what you used to weigh! Pretty stunning.
