  • If you're eating 1200, you're losing weight. If you're gaining weight, you're not eating 1200 - not without breaking known laws of thermodynamics :) You're eating more than you're counting. That's quite common actually - a lot of people who want to lose weight tend to underestimate their calorie intake. I'd say you're…
  • Use your scale. Even if you eat 300 calories too much or too little, it will take a week for your scale to move one pound in either direction. Then you can adjust up/down to the desired level. Maintenance is pretty forgiving.
  • The default setting is private, and I guess a lot of people just don't bother digging into settings and changing that. Mine is open for my friends.
  • Looking for buddies who will motivate me and whom I will motivate in return. Feel free to add me! :)
  • Google "start bodyweight basic routine" - it has progressions, so you can go from very easy to ultra hard at your own level and pace. And yeah, first time you'll be extra sore. Don't worry about it, just keep working out - and don't forget to stretch!
  • Great to hear you lost weight doing cardio (congratulations!), but the fact your friend didn't lose weight doing weights doesn't mean she would magically lose weight doing cardio. If she's not losing weight, that means she's not in a caloric deficit. Diet first. If she wants to reduce weight, she needs to reduce calories.…
  • Live instructor helps a lot. One session made a ton of difference. You want to be sure you're activating proper muscles and keeping good form, it makes workouts much more effective :) I also used fitnessblender for some routines. Good stuff.

  • First of all, great job :) I'm doing the similar process as you, I don't intend to go bulk until I'm under 15% body fat - which might take me a while. Muscle gain at a deficit is not easy. Your results look great to me. Although, I'm also new to resistance training.
  • It went great! I feel energized :)
  • Week 3 ATM. Add me :)
  • Set your goals in MFP, log your exercises and do your food diary. It should make everything clear.
  • As a product, their product range is heavily overpriced for what it is. That's not only an issue with Herbalife, but with MLM products in general. Yeah, sure. Losing weight on Herbalife formula 1 works, by the miracle of calorie restriction. But if you'd instead drink two glasses of milk and a multivitamin, you'd get…

  • Milk, dairy, eggs, protein shakes... and also some vegetables, e.g. rice and beans.
  • I started Couch to 5k today :) There's a group for it here on MFP.
  • We have similar goals :) 30m. Request sent.
  • I actually ran a 5k before, but with minimal training, bad time and it wasn't easy. Due to being sick I quit exercising a few months later in January. Well, I'm back now. There's a race in June that I intend on finishing, and beating my old time. W1D1 done today. It was quite pleasant.
  • I also started C25k today!
