I was at Walmart and let my kiddo pick out some candy. I grabbed a package of peanut butter m&M's for myself. I left the m&M's at the self-check and didn't buy them (apologies to the staff).

Conventional wisdom is all over the place regarding how long to go between meals, whether to snack. Experiment to see what works for you. After literally decades of never snacking during the work day and not eating breakfast on work days, I set a daily protein macro goal for myself. There was simply no way for me to get…

Finish out this week strong with protein/calorie/exercise goals knowing I may not see a loss this week due to starting it with a challenging weekend of traveling. Training myself to keep bouncing back.

After several days of struggling to meet my protein goal and stay within my calories while visiting family, got home today worked out and met my food goals.

You got this! You're doing amazingly!

Awesome. You got this!

So much great advice on this thread. It is so easy to get discouraged and quit. Refusing to quit and getting up and doing your best the next day is the main thing. It's got to be from a place of self-love for it to work long-term. Part of that is refusing to let those negative emotions creep in. If the plan isn't doable,…

A piece of low cal flatbread (I tear the Joseph's Lavash bread into fourths for this) with a tablespoon of peanut butter to make a little roll-up. About 120 cal and has some fat and protein. Nice because it holds up well without refrigeration. Way cheaper than a protein bar for us frugal folks.

Yes, it's so fast, easy, and accurate. No measuring cups/spoons to wash. Also very handy for recipes.

I appreciate all of you in this thread who have invested your time in helping others (myself included) so selflessly! I returned this summer after not looking at the message boards for several years and noticed all the things y'all have mentioned, which bum me out. Still finding good inspiration on here where I can, but…

Ended up having pizza and cake tonight which I had planned for and were within my calories. Feel that familiar urge to continue snacking "because I've blown it anyway" but keep reminding myself I'm still on plan, still quite full, and I got this, this can still be a day of progress if I stay calm and listen to my body,…

Addressing depression/anxiety sounds in order. Any kind of a major change, even a good one, like getting married causes major stress and takes a lot of adjustment. You might like the podcast “Losing 100 Pounds” with Corinne Crabtree. She has episodes that talk about how to deal with an unsupportive spouse.

@cdennis9154 I am near the beginning. Making steady progress and am in my second month of consistent loss. Haven't skipped a day of tracking and trying to hit my protein goal-- that is making a huge difference in my satiety! I feel like this is doable.

@cdennis9154 So awesome! 💪

@kristianwalvatne If not in the right mindset to lose weight I would cultivate self-love through something like loving-kindness meditation, or maybe working with a coach or therapist as a starting point, and start exploring the "why" for the goals. I was listening to a podcast recently from a professional who is a leader…

I asked this question a few years ago and really enjoyed the recommendations. Any new suggestions? TIA!

So sorry you are dealing this.

Greetings! I am going to rank tracking calories and protein intake as equally important for me. I would overeat unintentionally without knowing my overall calories and find it a lot harder to eat at a deficit without the protein.

@Alcastive You should be very proud. So wonderful!

@smsquash So fun!

Baked some cookies yesterday “for the kids” haha. Had 3 throughout the day and noticed a definite difference of feeling hungrier/less satisfied than on the days when I am prioritizing protein as I have been. Feeling motivated to continue minimizing straight up sugary snacks not because I can’t have them but because the…
