  • My Siamese sometimes likes to join me on mine in the mornings!
  • This is the one I use in many of my marinades. I am soy free most days and I have to be GF. This tamari is VERY tasty, I just wish it was cheaper.
  • Thanks for all the support... I absolute agree that the stress of losing my son is a HUGE trigger for so much that I have experienced since. I also know that the only one who is going to be able to help my find a way to go on and survive (maybe eventually thrive) is me. Well corn is a NO for me... ugh, back to very "IBS"…
  • My son, my eldest son (he was 23) was one of my biggest cheerleaders... he always encouraged me to take better care of myself and pursue my own happiness. I did a great thing when I finally gave up on his bio-dad and eventually remarried... that will be 11 years already. He adored his (step)father, they were best friends.…
  • Precisely why I am hoping I actually get corn in my garden. Some have tasseled already, so I am hopeful. I live in the middle of a LOT of agriculture, but non-GMO corn is hard to come by. I have a GREAT garden going, all organically grown, and the seeds are all heirloom/ non-GMO or certified organic (or both). Thanks!
  • That is a beautiful improvement! People do not realize how much carbohydrates affect the fatty acids our bodies produce. You can have a thin person who has a high carb diet and a fatty liver, and not even know it. I have a friend who is very fit and active (she's a runner) who had triglycerides (among others) that were sky…
  • Mom to 8, 6 who are bio and the youngest just turned 4. I've lost 58 lbs total from my high after my 5th bio and I'm down 21 lbs this time. I have 55 lbs to my goal weight. I've been up to a size 24 for longer than I'd like to admit and am currently a loose 16. I am LCHF because CICO doesn't work for me with being so…
  • Very cool! :) My hubby's students usually bring him restaurant gift cards, so I guess we can call it a steak (steaks). Yum!
  • FTR, I don't recommend simply not eating. When I go out of ketosis, it takes me 4 days or so to get back in. I can maintain a good level (moderate) with carbs around 40 gm/ day. Like others have said, YMMV... we are all individuals and are metabolisms and results are just as much individual.
  • The numbers can be so easily skewed anyway, even with your last meal. Not having anything else to compare it to I'd not be too concerned.
  • Those are so scary, and can be very common. If you have your doc's blessings about weaning, ask them to prescribe a short term benzodiazapine (sedative) to help alleviate some of those most unpleasant symptoms. Consider waiting til your appointment if you can't get it sooner. There are some sources on the net that give…
  • Realized it was actually 4 lbs today, but I've shed 2 of them (all water, I am sure)... Thanks for that, I'll go look! I was very frustrated to see that, again!
  • Yay!! You rock! Congrats!

  • Nope, I still cannot get past the extra crap in there (like the gristle *shudder*) and it has to be at least 80/20... and that is usually for grilling or meatloaf. I tend to buy grass fed beef (local) or ground bison, which are all very lean. I just use bacon grease to cook it all in and it has a great taste, too. We have…
  • I am currently on a prime rib kick... but any rare-medium rare meat is always a hit.
  • Ugh, you had me til Splenda. Me and artificial sweeteners don't blend. It looks good, though!
  • Bacon and cheese!! :)
  • This seems very topical, I read it tonight: http://www.washingtonpost.com/posteverything/wp/2015/05/15/take-off-that-fitbit-exercise-alone-wont-make-you-lose-weight/
  • Oh the headaches!! :( I seem to keep forgetting that I am insulin resistant and this carb crap is killing me!!
  • Right there with you except that I blew out on oatmeal, alcohol & corn chips. It started with pita bread Saturday and kind of went downhill from there. I am up 3 pounds. Hoping to get back into ketosis in a couple of days, again. *sigh*
  • This was the day my whole streak was reset and I *know* I entered info on my app but it's now blank and I lost my streak. In some twisted way, I kinda said "to heck with it" yesterday, too, feeling discouraged when I lost my streak. At least I know it is not just me! Come to think of it, I also entered breakfast on my…
  • Like I mentioned before, hormones are very much interdependent. LC eating should lower the insulin response and help with a correction across the board, especially for those of us who are already out of whack (hello, PCOS!). And yeah, feeling better about yourself sure does help, too!
  • You rock, Bonnie! I was diagnosed w fibro 10 years ago during my divorce. It's always felt like a cop out for not finding what's really wrong. I've been tested for many things, including MS and Lupus. I still don't have what I believe is an accurate diagnosis, but at least I'm feeling better most days.
  • I can tell you from my POV, I'm very insulin resistant, and when I was on the SAD and consumed sugar it would make my temper 10 times worse. It has to do with the sugar increases and the subsequent insulin dump and drop. Obviously this WOE keeps that from happening. The sex drive could easily be explained by your hormones…
  • I am down 19.6 lbs in about 2 months (the last 2 weeks LCHF). I feel better, lighter and more optimistic. I have had multiple medical issues that this WOE seems to help, and that alone is a reason to keep moving forward with it.

  • I am sure these folks can help troubleshoot it for you. I was in ketosis for 15 days and went out Monday. I am already back to moderate level ketosis by the pee sticks, but I also had heavy exercise yesterday, too. That tends to kick me back in pretty easily.
  • Ugh, it's still there and keeping me up at the moment.
  • With a house full, I buy it 6 pks at a time and freeze it.

  • I have a BUNCH of Braggs ACV here. I bought it by the case and make a salad dressing out of it. I usually eat it almost daily, but we were out of town the last 3 days, so I've had none. I can try that. The pain is more nagging than acute right now, but still there. Right upper, just under my ribcage. I'll try some, thanks.…
