  • Paprika. I put that *kitten* on everything... Like how people do with salt as a basic seasoning, salt & paprika is a must for me. Other than that... Garlic? But more than a 'seasoning', I add chopped/minced garlic.
  • Third answer: Adjust to eating more filling foods within your calorie allotment.
  • No, you helped! I may check around to see if friends or family have one I can borrow.
  • Issue is that I wouldn't use it much except for this week or two... xD; We don't even own a microwave.
  • Well... Don't log anything you didn't eat. Is there anything you can attempt to get down? Even if not feeling well, you need at least appropriate nutrition to get better. Maybe something more calorie-dense... If nausea, we may be able to recommend some things (nibbling some dense carbs, for example). (Please note this…
  • I forgot to mention... Despite me having soup, it is recommended to not have a lot of soup. The slurping can affect the blood clots in the holes left by the missing teeth and can increase your chances of dry socket. I had even grabbed some 'just in case' straws before the surgery, but you aren't supposed to use them,…
  • Seen a lot of threads about this over the years. Yep, significant others get nervous. Hell, FRIENDS will get nervous. I lost a best friend over it, he just... Blew up on me more and more, the healthier I got. Sit him down and have a discussion about why he is saying it. The root cause needs to be addressed.
  • I'm also of the type that prefer to have a large meal at the end of the day. Something satiating about it! I don't really care for breakfast. I get nauseated in the mornings; not pregnant, this has always been an issue. For lunch, I prefer to have something sustainable, but not very heavy in calories. Maybe a snack to nosh…
  • Thanks, all! I was beginning to get tunnel vision on what I could eat/drink. I know I need the calories for healing, but was having issues today actually stomaching so much food.
  • Mashed sweet potatoes sound heavenly, I think I'll do that soon. If I make tofu, I prefer it either firm or in a super spicy soup, so I think I'll have to avoid it just to avoid the temptation. I don't have any quinoa, I'm more of a rice fiend. I have a lot of medium-grain calrose rice... I wonder if it'd work well to…
  • Mashed potatoes sound good. EGGS. I FORGOT ABOUT EEGGGSSSSS. o: I have a ton of eggwhites in the fridge (costco). Good time to make some omelettes with them.
  • If you are near an Asian grocer, keep an eye out for 'Shirataki' noodles, too. I think some stores (Whole Foods?) carry 'Miracle Noodles', which are made of the same stuff. Konjac blocks & noodles are great for adding volume for little calories and satisfy you. I prefer them in soups or as a pad thai noodle.
  • Looking at the forums, it seems to be an issue a few people are having that issue right now. Exercise being counted as calories consumed rather than adding your 'extra to be consumed'.
  • Don't need to cut OUT snacks, but it looks like you are having more snacks than really... Everything else. Also, I see my typos in my previous post from being tired. Meant 25g of sugar per day is the max for women, and 1500g of SODIUM (not soda) is the recommendation for women. xD Are you genuinely only having a turkey…
  • Do you eat back your exercise calories? If so, do you go by what the MFP entries say? Edit; How is Huma-Pro, 75g of protein, 0 calories...? Edit; Scooting back previous days, I'm not seeing a lot of great nutrition at the calories you are having. 3 of the 6 entries are snacks, 1 seems to be protein pills with no calories…
  • Drink water. I get 'munchies' without actually being hungry... Turns out I'm thirsty. If you FEEL thirsty, you are dehydrated. I'll also eat something, and try to plan my food better in the long run. Plan to have a snack or two during the day between meals. If you don't have it by when you finish dinner, HEY. Dessert.…
  • Anything super sugary, as someone mentioned (just can't)... Regular ol' milk (srsly, I'd drink that *kitten* so often)... Cheese and mayonnaise sandwiches. I mean, SLATHERED, falling out of the sandwich, mayonnaise as a main ingredient. Don't judge me. We weren't watched as kids, I had so many bad food habits from taking…
  • The cutting so low down on calories will likely make your binge eating worse. I would recommend eating at a small deficit every day, with your exercise. You have time! It isn't a lot of weight to lose, and you have so many months to do so! Don't forget, if you are doing weight training and only have a small deficit, keep…
  • A single time, and I hadn't exactly 'quit'... I just stopped watching myself as close, but still tried to choose the healthy options when I could. But I stopped counting because my goodness, working 50-60hrs/week plus being a full-time student absolutely demolished my brain. Gah. I'd lost just over 100lbs. I've currently…
  • My account password wasn't working, but I just used 'Forgot password'. Is that not working for others? My favorite cheat: Rice. My gods, I can go through so much rice, I've had to cut down on actually having it at all.
  • On a deeper note, I've been thinking of this. And how the *kitten* do you say ily for the first time.
  • ... I only have one thing to ask after reading through this thread. OP, you listed a bunch of issues going on, and then... Some other issues that aren't your own, but your parents' issues... Has your doctor said you had thyroid issues or diabetes...? Parents having them, and you not, wouldn't affect it. Pre-menopausal, I…
  • Fitter is a term that is similar to, well, 'The Eye of the Beholder'. Fitter can be getting a lower BMI, it can be gaining weight purely through muscle (get ripped, yo), it can be staying the same weight with changing your bodyfat percentage to be lower, all kinds of stuff. Please elaborate.
  • You mention weighing and logging all food - but mentioned nothing of calories. Nothing I can find on profile, either. More info is needed. You mentioned 160lb, 37 y/o, female, but what is your height? What calories are you eating at? Do you eat back a portion of your exercise calories, all, or none?
  • Be warned; going keto doesn't mean you'll lose weight. I got a shiver of fear when you mentioned meat/cheese platters. Don't forget good fats vs bad fats... That'd absolutely murder my heart. Not to mention digestion. What is your plan in terms of calories? PLEASE track them. Keto or not, healthy or not, you'll gain weight…
  • King Soopers/Kroger/Smiths... Their brand of yogurt is surprisingly low cal compared to others at the same gram. 90 cal/serving (1 cup, I think?). Really sweet!
  • Chicken. I love me some thighs! Also will occasionally have a protein shake on the lazy days. Mine has a bunch of other nutrients in it, too.

  • Yearly anniversaries of maintaining.
  • It very rarely is, as cooked weight would depend how much the person decided to boil the pasta (meaning more water absorbed, heavier). I've seen people boil it to mush...
  • OOH GURL, RIGHT UP MY ALLEY. Some tips. 1) Up the volume for the same calories - just thin it out! I add some water to super thick dressings, and mix well with a fork to thin it out a bit. This is super good for flavorful ones. I'm a huge sucker for good ranches, so this helps me a lot. If you have a nice, creamy dressing,…
