I got rid of all my "fat" clothes this past weekend. Donated bags of them! All my size 38 and 40 pants are now gone! No crutch to fall back on. I'm in this for life. There's no going back!

I can relate to this! In my heavy days I could tolerate cold down to the mid 20's without much discomfort. This winter I was shivering in temps of low 40's even with my heavy winter coat on! I do seem to be more comfortable in the summer though.

Cauliflower. Brussell sprouts (which I used to hate) and kiwifruit.

I lost my weight through calorie counting and this is how I'm going to keep it off. I understand it isn't for everyone but I don't see it as obsessive to keep doing what works. I'll probably always count my calories and I have no problem with that. I just reached maintenance today.

Well I'm 48 and this morning I finally reached my goal. I'm now the slimmest I have been since my early 20's and I'm probably fitter now too. I don't remember ever running a mile or more since I left school. It's never too late to do it!

Ok, this is scales related but it's so much more. After 1 year and about 3 months I hit my goal weight. I'm officially in maintenance!

I have a kind of 2 in 1 to share. Yesterday we were at 90 degrees. Last summer I did all my running on the treadmill. I don't do heat! But our local parks department hosts a weekly 2 mile fun run and I really didn't want to miss it this week. Luckily it takes place at 8 pm so I didn't have to deal with the full heat of the…

1 year and 36 lbs later...

I'm 48. I started my health journey just over a year ago. I've lost 35 lbs, I started running and I got off diabetes meds last year. It's never too late to start.
-
Congrats! You look fantastic!
-
I ran a 2 mile fun run yesterday and ran it in 17 minutes and 24 seconds, my fastest 2 mile run and 16 seconds faster than my previous fun run. Now my goal is to complete it in under 17 minutes.

Our local parks department is now hosting a weekly two mile fun run. I ran for the first time tonight and ran my two miles in under 18 minutes. I ran in 17:40. My next goal is to get under 17 minutes! At 48 years old I'm probably fitter than I've ever been!
-
I'm sorry for your loss. And congrats on your loss. You look fantastic!

I just ran two miles in 18 minutes in full sun and 85 degrees, making that the hottest conditions I have run in. That is also my fastest 2 mile run in that park. I've been averaging 20 minutes so I ran a full 2 minutes faster than usual. I think I just wanted to get the run done lol

I know what you mean! I was diagnosed type 2 in 2008. It took me a few years to take it serious enough to do something about my weight. It was only when the doctor wanted to put me on a second medication, one that was linked with causing liver problems, that I finally realized diabetes wasn't going to go away by itself.…

Wow, what a transformation. You look incredible. Congratulations on your success.

As a Spurs fan I just want to say congratulations. You were top for most of the season so you deserve it. All I can say is we'll be back in the title chase next year!

I've noticed since I've lost weight I do feel cold easier. In March when the temp was in the low 40's with a breeze I felt as chilled as I used to when the temp was in the mid 20's! I hope I can get used to this by next winter. Winters in Florida are starting to sound really good.

I've been a type 2 diabetic since August 2008 and was on Metformin. In December 2014 I went for a check up and my A1C was 7.2 which was still high. The doctor wanted to put me on a second medication. This one is strongly linked with causing liver problems. I decided enough was enough. I started running, joined MFP and now…

One more peanut butter fanatic here! I limit myself to having it only after a run or after a workout at the gym. It makes a tasty reward snack.

For me a health issue gave me the motivation. I'm a type 2 diabetic and my doctor wanted to put me on a second medication (I was already taking Metformin) which is linked with causing liver problems. MFP gave me the tools and knowledge to take control of my diet and cut calories. Running gave me the extra edge. The friends…

Wow, you both look amazing! What a transformation.

You're a third of the way to reaching your goal weight. That's a pretty big deal! Congrats!
-
I went from mens size 40 down to size 32.
-
Congratulations! You're doing so well. I got off diabetes medication completely this time last year. You can do the same.

The photo on the right was taken just four days ago so it's the most recent photo of me.

Yes, sometimes. But when I see new photos of myself that's when I really see the changes.

It was my birthday today so my wife and I went out to eat. I only went about 600 calories over. I've been very good for a long while about being under calorie so it was strange to just not worry for one day. I felt full after my meal in a way I haven't for a long time. It made me realize I used to do that to myself on…

I've had mine for months and I STILL keep touching them lol!

Here's my latest comparison shot.
