Yes. I ran 5 miles and I'm logging everything. I will definitely end under calorie.

I donated everything. Not going back!

Hi all! I saw someone mentioned this group on a Maintenance thread and thought this would be ideal for me to stay on track. Especially this month with my wife's birthday coming up and all the Christmas goodies. I've lost a total of 70 lbs and I've been in maintenance for about a year and a half. Over the past several days…

My latest comparison pic.

Sometimes it's good to look back and appreciate where you were compared to where you are now. When you lose weight, get off medication and completely turn your health around. One thing I know is I will NEVER go back to who I used to be. This is probably my favorite before and after pic now.

Since the topic is about style and clothes my observation is about how my style has changed. I used to wear t-shirts most of the time, mainly because when my belly was bigger the bottom of the shirt used to come out, exposing the fat. Now I wear shirts 90 % of the time (when I'm not dressed for the gym or for running.) Now…

SO it was three years ago at the beginning of this month that I started my health and weightloss journey. I hadn't even joined MyFitnessPal at this point yet. But I was out every day walking two miles, then three miles, then I started running. Around the end of March 2015 is when I joined MFP so that anniversary is closing…

LOL! I didn't even notice that until someone else pointed it out. I guess they reflect a shift in priorities.

The pic on my left was taken a few years before I started my fitness journey. It was my heaviest. I don't really feel like that pic on the left is really me. But it was. I know I will NEVER let myself go back to looking like that again.

I posted it as a thread but I'll post it on here too! I have two NSV's today. One, I ran 5 miles. Two I had blood tests last week and got my results today. My A1C is 5.2, the lowest it has been in many years! Since it was 7.2 in Deember 2014 and the doctor wanted to put me on a second medication. I'd already been on…

I'm sure this has been said more than once but nobody told me how vain you get when you lose the weight! I used to hide from the camera. I hated having my photo taken. Now I'm popping off selfies everywhere! I must be making up for all the photo opps I missed because I didn't want to know!

I have declared war on my flabby stomach! It's the only part of me I'm still not happy with. We have a community pool and I've started using it. I swam for a total of 90 minutes today. Even the lifeguard, who is a very fit 18/19 year old girl was impressed with how long I was swimming and commented I'll have a six pack by…

I've had something of a mind shift lately. I've been so focused on what I have achieved, losing weight and getting fit. I'm always going to be proud of what I've achieved and I will willingly share my story with anyone I think I can help. But I've had a realization of sorts. I'm no longer the former fat man turned slim.…

Congrats! You look incredible!

I have the same issue! In the morning my stomach looks almost flat. After I eat though my stomach bloats out, especially at the sides! It's annoying because then I don't look like I've lost as much weight as I know I have!

I ran 11 miles on Saturday. That's my longest ever run. I've hit 60 miles for April already. I'm curious to see how many miles I finish on at the end of the month. I turn 49 on Friday and I've never in my life run more than 2 miles (and those were at school for cross country running). I'm fitter and healthier now than I've…
-
So I ran 8 miles today. After running 10 miles Wednesday. That's 30 miles for the first week of April. My highest weekly total ever. I'm going for 100 miles this month. Also someone tried to give me a bag of donuts and cookies they didn't want. I ditched the bag. Don't have it, can't eat it!

4/7/2015 is the date I joined MFP. Yep, I've been here 2 years Now! I'm so grateful to this site and all my friends I'm here who have kept me motivated. Now I'm going to celebrate by going for a run!
-
I ran ten miles today! I have run a total of 22 miles since April began and this is only the 5th day. I've set a goal of 100 miles for this month. This will be highest monthly running miles total ever!
-
My longest run was 11 miles. I'm now averaging something in the region of 5-7 miles with each run. I was never athletic at school and even as a skinny teen I'd never ran more than 2 miles. Now here I am, almost 49, running 11 miles!

How much more critical you are of yourself...but in a more positive way. I'm happy with the way I look in every area except my stomach. I still have a bit of a belly and it's frustrating because I feel it stops me looking as slim as I feel. How much more vain you become. I used to hate having my photo taken! Now I'm…

When I was losing weight I was definitely feeling the cold in the winter. I have a heavy winter coat. When I was fat I couldn't wear the coat unless the temp was mid 20's or lower without sweating. Last winter I was wearing it when the temp was in the low 40's! I'm in maintenance now and while this winter was mostly mild,…

Great job! You look amazing! Getting rid of your old clothes is the best thing you can do. Sending yourself a strong message. No. Going. Back!

Recently I've had a big breakthrough in my running. Until a few months ago I would only run 2 to 4 miles. Even when I ran 4 miles I always had to stop at the 2 mile mark to give my legs a break for 5 or 10 minutes. Now I can run 7 or 8 miles without stopping or even slowing down. My pace has improved too. I've gone from…

Thank you! It's a journey that was long overdue and I'm glad I took it. My two year anniversary on MFP is coming up too.

Here's my Before and After pic. I can't believe the difference in how I look and feel. Thanks to my weight loss I got off the diabetes drug, Metformin. I'll be off it for 2 years next month!
-
I'm so proud of you! You have really stuck to your health journey.
-
Yep. I had a good clear out of my old clothes. Not going back to that size again!

I do feel cold easier than I used to. Last winter I was freezing! I have this huge winter coat that's very warm. It used to have to be in the mid 20's or lower for me to be able to wear it or I would be sweating. Well, last winter I was wearing it when the temp outside was 42! I have to say summer is easier to tolerate…
