I'm the same. I don't mind going over my calorie limit from time to time and I don't mind eating high calorie foods especially on special occasions or at a party. But I HATE that overstuffed feeling I get from eating too much food.

I have no plans to stop logging. Maybe at some point in the future if I see I have a good handle on this I'll stop feeling the need to keep logging my food. But for the foreseeable future I'll keep doing this. It's not a big deal at the end of the day. Plus I love the community feel of the site.

That's the strangest thing about this journey we're all on. When we lose the weight, people we meet from that point on will have no idea unless we tell them what we've gone though or what we used to look like. There are going to be people out there who will have no idea you or I were ever overweight. Funny, isn't it?…

We had to have blood tests this morning. We both hate needles. So we "rewarded" ourselves by eating out for our breakfast. I had 2 pieces of French toast with Smuckers breakfast syrup. One small container is 120 calories. The old me would have had 2 or 3 of them. Today I managed to use just 1 of them and even let a couple…

How you can't stop touching yourself! I don't mean sexually. But even though I've had hip bones and collar bones for months I still keep toying with them. The funny thing is I was skinny all my life until I hit my mid twenties and I'm sure had hip and collar bones then, probably even more prominent than they are now, but I…

I ran for a whole hour straight last night. 5.2 miles. Not the fastest. I've run six miles before but always had to take walking breaks or stop all together for 5 to ten minutes every two miles or so. But last night I was on the treadmill with it set to hills, which just made it more challenging. I didn't plan to run that…

Isn't it a great feeling to get rid of your old fat clothes? It's liberating. And it's making a statement that there is no going back.

I'm 48 and a type 2 diabetic. In the past year I have lost 35 lbs (a total of 60 lbs from when I was at my heaviest.) I joined MFP last March and also started running. I'm now at my goal weight and have been off my diabetes medication for over a year.
-
Happy anniversary! And congratulations on your amazing success.
-
Congrats! It's a great feeling, isn't it? I've been off Metformin over a year now. I'm determined to never go back!

You can still inspire them and show them what's possible if they continue to live an active life.

I don't think I've posted in here before. When I turned 40 I was the heaviest I've ever been and I was diagnosed a type 2 diabetic. In two years I will turn 50 and I'm going to be the fittest and healthiest I've ever been!

I bought a rhubarb pie about 3 months ago. Cut a quarter of it and had that over two nights. I put the rest of the pie in the freezer cut into quarters. They're still in there. In the old days that pie wouldn't have lasted more than a week!

What a great thread! I had two ah-ha moments. Growing up I was always skinny. Right up until my mid 20's. Then my weight started creeping up. I was diagnosed a type 2 diabetic in August 2008. I was my heaviest then, 214 lbs most of it showing on my belly and face. I was put on Metformin to help control my sugar. I battled…

I'm sorry you're going through this. My thoughts and prayers are going your way. Just stay strong!

You might want to look into something called Couch To 5K. It's a way to ease gently into running. I did something similar.

We shop at Trader Joe's and Stop and Shop mostly. Occasionally at Top Tomato. I live in Staten Island, NYC.

I'm a type 2 diabetic and I test my fasting sugar every morning. I would love a feature like this so I can track my morning sugar levels and make sure I stay on top of my diabetes. Great idea!

Congrats on your success!

How your taste buds will change. I just tried a small forkful of chocolate oreo cake and found it too sweet. In fact I had to drink a glass of water to wash the sweet taste out of my mouth! It was almost like eating a spoon of pure sugar. I used to love stuff like that but haven't had cake in ages as I didn't think it was…

My eating habits have really changed! We went to a diner. We were both starving hungry when we went in. They have a deal where if you buy a dinner you can eat as much as you want from the salad bar. I started with a little potato salad and coleslaw then went back to get lettuce spinach and broccoli. When the dinner came I…

I'm 5'7, currently 157 lbs and size 32.

I just can't eat like that any more. I have no problem eating something that's high calorie like cake. But to just keep eating until I'm so stuffed I can barely move? I feel so uncomfortable that I hate that feeling.
-
Congratulations! I know how it feels. I reversed my diabetes last year through diet and running. Getting off Metformin is the best thing about my health journey.

*kitten* it.

I've lost 36 lbs and hit my maintenance goal through MFP so I love it! Definitely worth giving it a try. Check out the Success stories forum. There's a ton of inspirational posts there.

I love running too! I only started last year. Running has definitely helped me with my weight loss and as a type 2 diabetic it helps keep my sugar levels down. I actually got off diabetes medication last year through a combination of losing weight and running. I've noticed if I don't run for a few days my fasting sugar…

What a powerful story. Congrats. You look great!

My range I want to maintain to is 150-155. I waited until I hit 155 to switch to maintenance. I'm at the high end of my range so I will be happy if I lose a few more pounds as I adjust.

36 lbs and 59 lbs since my heaviest.
