Unexpected results of weight loss

Finding 'new' bones and muscles. The muscles I love, the bones, not so much, I keep banging elbows/ankles on things. I feel strangely more 'vulnerable' as a less hefty person, odd feeling, like I'm less protected - I definitely wore my fat as a barrier, both physical and psychological.

Being totally cool with leaving food once I'm full. Took a long time to get out of the mindset of having to clear my plate, now I can push away a half eaten meal and not feel guilty/sad.

Spending ages making comparison photos and staring at them in disbelief!

The biggest, however, is how hard I've found it to get my head round buying UK12s, I've never been lower than a size 14 since I was in my mid-teens. I *still* habitually pick up the bigger sizes. Oh and, despite me always saying I hated clothes shopping, full stop, actually, I don't, I just hated shopping when I was bigger. I now want ALL THE CLOTHES!!

I had the same problem; I put it down to the fat acting like a buoyancy aid. I had to learn to swim again - it used to be so easy when I was obese.

I've always assumed this is the reason that I cant swim underwater, my bum always floats to the top and my fingers and toes are almost touching the bottom of the pool. LOL x

I think i look awesome in the mirror but when im not looking in the mirror i feel i look Like i did before. Still getting used to it i guess.

Going into a clothing store and realizing that I have more options available to me. Almost out of the Big girl clothes and can now look in the XL section of regular clothing stores.

New young'uns in my exercise classes used to seriously under-estimate me, and it could be pretty darn fun to defy their expectations. I am sure you still inspire them. I am not young by any means, but I have some ladies in my classes that are 60+ that can make everyone look bad. I want to be just like them

I kinda like when people underestimate me though too. It's fun to see the reaction.

Crazy to say but after loosing close to 30# my loafer shoes are too loose now ;-) Will need to go shopping soon...

Well, maybe, maybe not:

One of my "unexpected results" is that I haven't been cold.

The only other time in my life I was fairly thin was shortly after I went to college (became much more active than in high school), and I was cold all the time, even in summer, after losing weight. So I expected it again this time, especially with so many others reporting it.

Nope. Why? No clue, but it hasn't happened, and I'm back at that college weight (also a surprise! ).
