me to! feel free to add me

I can add you. I need people to keep me motivated to :)
-
first yes eat the popcorn! Next you should see a doctor or therapist or both if you think you have an eating disorder. You could talk to a parent, or friend first if that would make it easier - they could go with you.
-
I'll try to eat more protein and fibre then thank you! My goto snack is toast and pb which does have protein and fibre but it's got quite a lot of energy to, I guess I could try snacking on fruit and veggies more they have fibre so would that be better?
-
I don't log at all lol so that's out. I eat lots of fats but idk about protein, I guess I could eat more protein to make me fuller but wouldn't that still be eating more?
-
Maybe look into intuitive eating (just google it). For people who binge eat I think its better than calorie counting bc its not really restrictive so you dont feel deprived.
-
2500-300, I'm not strict on macros about 60 carb, 20 fat, 20 protien. I don't lift. I cycle, and do yoga, and have a very active lifestyle. I don't have much time at the moment for a proper routine but am just working to gain a little, slowly. I am not muscular at all so this is enough for me at the moment.
-
Can't you just google it? It's pretty easy to find stuff and I don't have time right now sorry.

Are you aware that the people that make those guidelines often work for or are paid by the food industry? Often people dying from heart disease have 'healthy' cholesterol due to the fact the safe cholesterol limits aren't tight enough. No I haven't I'll look it up, thanks. I haven't seen any non biased saturated fat…
-
I don't understand. Can you link me to something, or suggest some reading?
-
In what way is my knowledge of general nutrition lacking, what am I missing?
-
I suggested plant based protein sources as legumes and nuts particularly are very healthy from what I've heard. I'm really not suggesting anyone to go vegan here, although not to say there aren't plenty of healthy vegan weight lifters. And yes I am in the process of gaining weight and muscle, and I don't consume red meat.
-
I did not mention veganism? This person asked for opinions on red meat, so I gave my opinion on red meat. As I said many people have different opinions due to the conflicting studies but I think red meat is not healthy in the long term.
-
I have thank you. Different studies say different things, it depend who funds them and who's conclusion you read. There is plenty of evidence to show that saturated fat and cholesterol are very bad for you. Perhaps you should look it up as well.
-
Everyone will have a different opinion. I would say none atall, down to the cholesterol, saturated fat, and various hormones, chemicals, carcinogens, etc. I would stick to plant proteins such as legumes, wholegrains, and nuts. They tend to be low in fat, and unwanted chemicals. They also tend to have fibre, vitmins, and…

5"7 116lbs. I'd like to gain muscle though maybe be 120-125

I find planning out what you're going to eat, including snacks and stuff can help. If you've got healthy stuff prepared then you wont find youself going hungry and reaching for the junk.
-
Yeah I have before, although you could probably add less if you wanted to be healthier- when baking I dont like to compromise
-
I think some studies have shown that it can raise cholesterol- although you might want to find them yourself as I've only seen the conclusions. For this reason I save coconut oil for only the occasional baking (I use it instead of butter because in my opinion anything is better than dairy).

By gunk I mean additives like colours, flavours, emulsifiers, etc. sorry not to be very clear there. Yes, you're right a bit of sodium is okay just not all the time. I didn't mean seitan was bad just not as nutrient dense as other proteins, by all means enjoy your seitan!
-
Meat subs are often really processed so have lots of salt and gunk. I don't mean tofu and tepeh but more the fake chicken/burgers/cheeses/etc. Of course the calories still count but I guess it's that for me the food is satisfying because of the fibre. I eat lots of veg and legumes so for me anyway I can eat lots but not…
-
Wheat isn't harmful unless you're intolerent. However it is also very easy to avoid if you need to. It doesn't really limit your protein as seitan isn't a main protein source for most vegans, just an occastioal meat substitute. Meat substitutes aren't really very good for you (better than real meat though obiously aha). I…

"Nope, sugar is sugar...your body cannot tell the difference between refined sugar and natural sugar found in fruit. " What study has shown that fruitis recognised in the same way as refined sugar? I don't mean sugar separted from fruit I mean only whole fresh fruits. From what I was aware of it is okay to eat lots of…

Okay: As for the "cheating", I'm not sure how you can cheat a political stance and lifestyle choice of doing as little harm as possible. You can however cheat a plant based diet which sounds more like what you've got going there. (Sorry it just annoys me when people use the word vegan to descibe their diet when that's…

Erm here are a few things... I have to say I didn't think this was such an unpopular opinion on eggs. A couple of random websites: http://www.prevention.com/food/healthy-eating-tips/study-claims-eggs-are-unhealthy-smoking http://breakingmuscle.com/nutrition/the-great-egg-debate-4-reasons-you-need-to-stop-eating-eggs…

You're probably right- no periods do mean you are probably under weight. Most women maintain around 2000cals so I would really make that a minimum. Although you are tall and want to gain so you could probably go up to 2500+ atleast until your periods come back. So yep boost your calories!
-
Vegan here feel free to add me
-
It's the truth though? Eggs are incredibly unhealthy from the research I've seen.
-
Try banana icecream: chop bananas up, freeze, blend in a food processor- with a little water, enjoy! Best tasting and healthiest ice cream ever
-
Why don't you just stop eating eggs? They are full of saturated fat, cholesterol, and carcinogens- surley it will be good that you wont miss them?
