  • I eat salad with my hands. I hate dressing so it's a little less gross.
  • I agree with @AliceDark , make your last dress alteration you goal/maintenance date unless you have a corseted back on your dress. And Congratulations!
  • I like bringing watermelon, pineapple, or raspberries. I'll also do carrots and string cheese, although the cheese has fat in it which you're trying to avoid. Thomas Light English muffins are a good base for snacks at 100 cals for 8g of fiber, sometimes I put a little lunch meat on those as a quick, 150-calorie fix. The…
  • @DananaNanas my scale did that too! There's a good post on reddit about digital v beam scales at the doctor's office if you want to read about how digital scales need re-calibrating. My parents still have my scale from high school (a good 10 years ago) and it always is 6lbs more than my current, year-old scale. @FLCullen…
  • Wedding Date: 7/14/18 <3 I'm in! Goals: -lose ~1inch from my waistline. I ordered my dress down a size since the top is so pretty I didn't want to alter it since my bust and waist size are 1 size apart. Luckily my dress is very fluffy after the waist, no worries about my much larger hips. -work on toning my arms and back -…
  • How much fiber are you getting? That sounds similar to what I experienced when I was eating more than 25-30g of fiber.
  • I am nearly done with 3 months of [solidcore] (like lagree/megaformer but with higher resistance), and I feel like my muscle definition is as good as when I was a 16 year old doing ballet for 30hrs/week (granted my diet then was different too). Other benefits include falling asleep almost instantly now and feeling much…
  • I take a class at 6am (so 5:15 wake up). I get penalized $30 if I skip it. You better believe I always make it!
  • 5'5'' 124lbs. 31-25-36.5 are my measurements. I lost maybe 3 pounds and recomped over the past 3 months, so far I'm happy with my progress. Looking to to drop more body fat though.
  • And sorry for the typos, on mobile!
  • Can you make them and donate them to a local bookclub, nursing home, church coffee hour? I know some places are stricter because of allergies, but I have a standing baking gig (free though) to my neighborhood's wine club. Usually my job is a conflict so I can't go, but I drop off the treats once a month to my neighbor the…
  • Ah I thought so, glad to hear it isn't worth it! I do solidcore (megaformer)3x a week so I already do some of that push/pull resistance. That plus my 2 weight days and cardio are probably much more effective in the long term. Thanks for weighing in!
  • I put barre classes and Megaformer classes in as Pilates. I don't think a heart rate monitor would be helpful in this situation because you aren't doing sustained cardio. Remember, your overall calorie burn will increase as your body repairs itself, but that is harder to measure.

  • I cube about 6 oz. of chicken and satuee it in a pan on the stove top on medium for ~ 10 minutes. Then I add 1/2 cup vindaloo sauce and simmer it for another 8-10 minutes. I then pour it over cauliflower rice from Trader Joe's. That's my lunch for today too!
  • I tend to do all or nothing, but when I do all, I used to really go for it like you (1,200 calories, 2+ hours in the gym days a week and 4 to 5 hour hikes after 2 spin classes on the weekends. I ended up reinjuring my knee from the stress, so now I take a more balanced approach. Each week, I take 4 Solidcore classes, 1…
  • Not anymore but I'm sure there are people on here that are! Nice to see some Naperthrill on here
  • Mine is to resist the candy jar at work this week. Whoever suggested naming your craving "Ben" and telling it to go away is a genius, I haven't touched the Reese's Pieces so far!
  • I lose diet and exercise motivation about two days before and two days during. My obygyn says working out helps relieve cramping and PMS symptoms, so I try to do at least very light elliptical workouts. He also said the muscles in your abdomen relax very slightly, which I always remember when I'm about to beat myself up…
  • MyBodyGallery.com is good for this. They post pictures of women at all different heights and weights. There is also a quiz on there to show how hard it is to guess someone's weight, I highly recommend taking it because it'll change your prespective.
  • Me: 1 Binge: 0 DBF: 7! My longest streak in a very long time
  • And don't be afraid to fall if you can't control your speed! Fall on purpose that is. Taking a lesson is definitely a good idea. If you have good lower body strength and can shift your center of gravity it helps a lot. And snow plow/pizza poses will be your friend - just make sure you have good knees and engage your quads…
  • I got the vanilla-flavored Designer Whey from Trader Joe's. I mix it with plain greek yogurt and it adds a nice flavor.
  • First of all, congrats on your weight loss! Cardio is great for burning a lot of calories quickly, but adding in weights will change your body composition and give you some abs and shape. Unless you are eating above maintenance, you won't bulk up. Actually, the women who do bulk up intentionally eat significantly more in…
  • I see fiber-rich as having 5-6g of fiber per serving. Raspberries and pears are in that range, and I add them in salads or oatmeal usually.
  • I like this idea! Breakfast: -oatmeal, almond butter, and frozen fruit -hardboiled eggs, whole wheat toast, asparagus Lunch: -shredded chicken, wild rice and veggie blend -shredded chicken, vindaloo sauce, cauliflower rice - shredded chicken (seriously, slow cookers rock), bbq sauce, sweet potatoes Dinner: -turkey and…

  • If you've lost significant weight, you may need your bc hormonal dosage reevaluated. Even after a 10lb lost, my OBGYN recommended that I try different methods/dosage with him since a lot of hormonal changes can happen when losing weight. For this reason, I think a lot of doctors ask if you've gained/lost significant weight…

  • To work your inner thighs, you have to go past 90 degrees or do single leg exercises. I like to do weighted step ups on a bench, or Bulgarian split squats on the exercise ball.
