I do an advanced Barre class taught by dancers, it is one hour long and works the entire body, also uses weights. How do I input this in my diary?

According to a few online articles I've read it burns less then 300 calories per class. Obviously that will very by class intensity and individual. I do Pure Barre and log it as minimally as possible (because I LOVE to eat my exercise calories). Pure Barre classes are also an hour long.
For me: I'll put, say, 15 abs and get calorie credit for that. Do you have a HRM?

I put barre classes and Megaformer classes in as Pilates. I don't think a heart rate monitor would be helpful in this situation because you aren't doing sustained cardio. Remember, your overall calorie burn will increase as your body repairs itself, but that is harder to measure.

I teach/take a ton of barre every week - I log it as "pilates." I use an HRM and burn double the amount teaching when compared to taking, but I'm moving around the full 45 minutes to an hour, and talking the whole time, so it's more of a cardio workout!

As mentioned above, the HRM isn't going to be 100% accurate. I use it mostly for timing my classes, and out of habit. I average about 180 calories burned when taking one of our standard classes. Up to 300 when it's one of our cardio classes.

Thanks for input - I think I'll log it as a pilates class, even though I know I work much harder in an advanced Barre than I do in pilates. I use pretty heavy weights, and am always sore and feel very hungry after. I find it very hard to accurately account for fitness in this app, especially for the 'after burn' following a strenuous non cardio workout.
