Okay, first, I've been assuming you have a Charge HR or a Surge. Which FitBit do you have? If it's not one with an HR, you can pretty much ignore anything it says about your calorie burn. It's guessing as much as MFP does. If it is one with an HR, the only way that will happen above is if you have your MFP Activity setting…

I just explained why they are different. MFP gives you the calories upfront, the FitBit makes you earn them before it will show them to you. Use MFP. Ignore FitBit. Calm down. MFP's numbers are well proven. If you input your correct height, weight, and activity level, you can trust the number. Use the FitBit to track your…

Exactly. That's why I use MFP and not the FitBit for calorie determination. It's too confusing.

The problem with the FitBit calories is it starts the day like that, and gives you more as you walk. It assumes you're going to sit on your tail all day and gives you those calories, which are a deficit from your BMR. It then makes you earn your food. If you use the calorie allotment on MFP, you'll find it gives you a more…

No, she said they recommend low carb. This is true because the idea is to cut out the sugar. Paleo is often mistaken as low carb, but it isn't. I follow Paleo for the most part (I'm not militant - I eat white potatoes, corn, and you'll have to pry the peanut butter out of my cold, dead hands) but I'm allergic to milk so I…

The worst 5 days of my life are still the 5 days someone talked me into trying the HCG diet. It felt like a month, not 5 days. It was 5 years ago and I still can't eat asparagus. I used to love asparagus and I made the mistake of eating it almost exclusively as the veg choice for those 5 miserably long days. I became…

Mine told me to eat vegetarian. I never felt worse in my life. I was exhausted, irritable, and generally miserable. And I wasn't a junk food veg either - I was following Eat to Live. It's just ridiculous. There are clearly biological differences - some people thrive on Eat to Live, whereas I felt like garbage, for example…

Double check how many servings you put on the recipe versus how many servings you're logging.

When my allergist prescribed an elimination diet after my scratch test came back with a bunch of foods, all he did was give me instructions (two weeks of none of the suspected triggers, then introduce one at a time to observe results) and tell me to do it, then come back in a few months and report anything. I'd say it's…

What kind of wine are you drinking that is so sugary? Red wine has only a gram, white only has 1.5 grams per 5 ounce serving. Unless you're drinking those cheap fake ones that taste like Kool-Aid, wine is fine.
-
That's not true at all. Numerous studies have proven that there are lots of benefits to red wine - in moderation. 1-2 4 oz servings per day is recommended. I have seen no studies recommending 1 -2 servings of fries per day, though. (Oh wouldn't that be a happy day though?!?!)

Now that you know it affects you like this, stop weighing every day. Immediately. Your body fluctuates constantly. You could be retaining water, either due to your period approaching or too much sodium. Or even muscle repair if you did a good workout. Since you react poorly to these fluctuations (they trigger a binge)…

Perhaps. When I was a vegan, folks in my support circle cited it as above and used it in that context- it's vegan written like it's a curse word. There were lengthy debates about how vegans should stop being embarrassed by telling people they were vegan, stop using that *, yadda yadda.
-
Militant Vegans are why the term "ve*an" started appearing. People were embarrassed by their fanatical PETA crazed counterparts that were creating the reputation that all vegans are going to pour paint on your steak, ruin your dinner, and condemn you to hell for being an omnivore. It's sad really. Live and let live. I've…

You are not alone. I did the modified everything just to get through it, plus I added my own - I can't get up and down nearly as fast as she wanted me to, so I was doing wall push ups instead. Each workout, if you give it effort, you will improve. Soon you'll be like those reviewers I hate/envy who comment on how they…

Those of you too embarrassed to work out in a gym because you're "too sweaty" - you're cheating yourself. If you want to use a gym, use it. A gym is a sweaty place. Wipe off the machine and don't care at all about "the looks". "The Looks" come from ignorant people who put other people down to make themselves feel better.…

I smoked a pack a day for 20 years. I quit using e-cigs for 2.5 years, then decided to finally throw the monkey off my back and went cold turkey off those to get off nicotine. I never would have ever stopped smoking without those e-cigs. They saved me completely and I lost all my smoker's symptoms while on them - the cough…

I've used it (in the U.S.) and it's actually pretty handy. Great way to try out the videos without having to buy them. I didn't cancel when the free trail was over, but I'm sure it is easy. After the trial was over, they charged me $40 for 3 months. That's really the same price as a no-frills gym membership and since I…

I've used Diet Bet. I thought the money would be a more powerful motivator than it was, but that's just me. There are people on there that swear by it. I can confirm that if you win, you get your money. There's no scam. What they do is they put everyone in the game's money into a pot. At the end, they skim 25% for…

A spoon! No seriously, I usually eat hearty soups, so I just eat it alone, and maybe some fruit for dessert.

I have this one here and it's in line with the doctor's scale.

Yes it is and yes it does. You aren't missing anything. It's the silliest thing I've seen people fall for in a while.

I don't mean to poke fun, but the bone broth fad cracks me up. Carcasses have been used to make stock since the dawn of man. Calling it "Bone Broth" instead of "Stock" doesn't make it a magical super food.
