  • Thanks for posting this. I’ve been really struggling this week and decided I’ve just been doing to much and I’m going to slow down this week and give myself some slack. Good to read that everything I’ve been experiencing is what my gut has been telling me. RHR is a good idea to implement 🙂
  • I’m usually up around 60-70% fat and I’m losing weight. Not quite keto but close.
  • When I had calf pain (just in one though) it was caused by my piriformis being very tight. Few visits to the chiropractor and I’m good again.
  • You’ll get a lot of haters here unfortunately, as soon as you say IF. I’m doing it and have done it in the past with great success. Lost 15kilos the first time, shooting for that again now (got slack and put it all back on) I’m gradually cutting back on carbs but I’m not going to go full keto, I count my calories and most…
  • I run about 6am and don’t break fast until 1pm. I haven’t had any trouble so far but everyone’s different.
  • Im mixing it up this week with some hiking instead of running. Did a 12.5 km challenging hike this morning on our “Bump track” near home (an old trail that was used 100 years ago as an access road) Very steep but beautiful and nearly all rainforest. Another planned for the weekend which will be an all day hike. Then I…
  • I feel I’ve turned a corner and finally getting somewhere with my fitness. Yey! Can run most of my 4.5 km route now and my piriformis is almost gone. Starting to enjoy myself again
  • Runkeeper is my favourite. I don’t try and sync it as I don’t eat my exercise calories so it doesn’t matter. I just like to see my stats and my speeds etc.
  • Lybarni I’ve had a terrible week to so I hear you! My last run was last Tuesday and it hurt. I’ve started having trouble with one of my knees now, just as I was getting over the piriformis in my right buttock - gahhh!! It was also my period week and I’ve just been so knackered and my whole body hurt I couldn’t contemplate…
  • I run early in the morning. I get up at 5am, have a cup of tea and get going around 6. I take my dog so he gets bonus exercise to :) I’m had a bit of a breakthru the last couple of runs. I’m being more consistent with getting out there and my piriformis has really settled down. I was doing Pilates 3 times a week which I…
  • Hugs for you, sounds like a very difficult time. Look after yourself and don’t fret about the wagon, it will still be there when you are ready.
  • I was shocked when I measured how much milk went into each of my cups of tea - it’s about 80mls! It sure adds up the calories at that amount.
  • I started running again in October last year but have made zero progress apart from transitioning from treadmill to road running. Lack of consistency and piriformis syndrome have really hampered me but I’m still plugging away at it. I can manage 5kms of walk /run at a 8:35 min/km pace. Summer was a real challenge for me…
  • I’ve been on the combined pill for about 20 years and have mostly liked it. I feel like it gives me more control over periods and I like having clear skin. My ex husband had a vasectomy not long before we split up, I did enjoy having more of a libido during that time when I didn’t take pills. After the break up I met…
  • Try some pilates, lots of movements to tone the legs. Great ab workout to :)
  • I'm also a blogilates fan! Her workouts are fun but tough. I started pilates to help me balance out with my running and hiking, I've been doing it about 5 weeks and have noticed a big difference in my body tone, balance and strength just in that small time. I just do it at home on a mat that I bought, started out learning…
  • You could do a few pilates mat exercises. Heaps of videos on YouTube. I recommend pop pilates :)
  • Peppermint tea makes me feel worse. I use Sweet Fennel essential oil mixed with a carrier oil massaged onto my stomach, always feel better within 10 minutes.
  • Good luck, I had a set and they were terrible! The eggs didn't just pop out nicely like they advertise, I had to scrape them out with a knife :( very disappointing
  • I had a dog that came endurance horse ride training with me - he was an Australian Kelpie and we were doing training rides of 20 km + 3 times a week. He was super super fit and learnt to lie down on mud, in puddles etc to cool himself. I take my Staffy out for my 5 km runs now and he loves it, still pulling at the end. I'm…
  • I've done it in the past and liked it, it helped me lose a couple of stubborn kilos that my calorie counting wasnt. The fasting days were hard for me I had to just tough it out. I liked to go the whole day with no food and eat the whole 500cal at dinner.
  • It has been on and off for several years now. No other pains though. It has flared up several times due to a couple of riding accidents I've had as well! (one of my horses was nasty and used to drop it's shoulder, spin, unseat me and then buck - I had no chance!) Pain medication helps. I'm going to have a couple of days…
  • I love running, I'd be really unhappy if I couldn't anymore. I'm hoping the pilates will strengthen me enough that this issue will get better, I've only just incorporated it into my exercise in the last fortnight, my core is very weak. I see a chiropractor regularly to, I'm going to ask that he does more work on my lower…
  • In my recent experience I can say that for me running outside is much harder on my body but better for my mind. I just finished 3 months of running only on the treadmill and could run 30 minutes at 6km/hr quite well, when I went for my first run outside I could not walk properly for 3 days due to the doms I suffered. I was…
  • For any Christians here I love Eye On It by Toby Mac, it's my best running song :)
  • I thought so to! Ah well. Went again thismorning, still abit sore but it was a good run. I don't have a track anywhere near me so road it is.
  • I love my runners once they have gotten a bit beat up and flattened out. I don't like fighting against footwear I just like to run in my own way so when my shoes start to wear out that's when they feel best to me.
  • Yes I sometimes get the twitching feeling. It's like little electric shocks for me. It doesn't seem to be a problem, I just put it down to a good workout and wait for it to pass.
  • I like soy sauce on my salad, bit weird but it's the saltiness I'm into. I also LOVE Kewpie mayonnaise (Japanese) but it's very calorie heavy so it's only a special treat.
